    Hey everyone! Since I'm now a wonderful green named member, I guess its time for you guys to get to know me better-er. Okay, that last sentence was a mess, but so what! That's how I roll. I guess? Anyway, I'm 20 years old, in Greece(and not enjoying it one bit), currently at a Culinary Arts school. Here's some things you guys should know about me. I guess.
    -I really really love cooking. I guess I'm at an intermediate level, when I really should be a beginner for all intents and purposes. That's due to upbringing, and being lucky enough to be in kitchens before I technically should have been able to. So yeah, cooking is a major cool thing in my book.
    -Anyway, I love metal. Like really seriously LOVE metal. I listen to it on the bus, while I'm walking, when I wake up, when I sleep, in the shower. You name it, I'm listening.But not during the sex, *****es hate the metal.
    -Major addict of fantasy novels, and fantasy in general. I've read the entire ASOIAF series 10 times, the dark tower series another 10 times, and will gobble up anything with swords and/or magic.
    -I try way too hard to be funny sometimes. This post is anecdotal evidence.

    So yeah, ask away. Anything you wanna learn about me will be exclusive to this threadAnything else will be our dirty little secret.
     
    i love cooking too! any idea what you want to do food-wise for a career?
     
    I want to at least travel to 10 countries before I settle. Try to make a name, dip my ladle into different cuisines, try the markets out. I definitely wanna own my own Restaurant one day, as besides cooking I love managing a good get together. And what's better then that? Managing a good place for many get togethers!
     
    As a major fantasy fan, do you also like science-fiction or do you find it less interesting?

    Would you want to enter Master Chef or some cooking competition on TV if you got the chance? :3
     
    I personally love science fiction as well, as its an interesting form of unintended prophetic writing. What I mean is, while a lot of the writers were writing on a factual basis for their predictions of where the world is going(politically, socially, e.t.c) I assume that a lot of them never really truly intended for some of their predictions to come so close to reality, in one form or another. A stellar example of this is Fahrenheit 451. Although we are not at the point were society has completely shunned books(and thank heavens for that, I dunno what I would do without literature) we are in a way much like everyone in the book, either connected to our world through the internet(either on forums much like this or facebook) with "families" that we feel closer to then the people in our own non-virtual lives, or with earbuds listening to whatever we want to. Again, thankfully we're not so dependent on the internet, but the basis for a totalitarian future with roots in mass thought control through electronic means is there if the governments of the world ever wanted for humanity to go that way.
    Otherwise, Science Fiction on a whole is not a big genre for me. As I'm saying, I really don't mind stuff like Bradbury, Orwell, Asimov and what not, but the stuff that reaches out of our planet, that involves aliens and whatever fantastical bull that writers can pull out of their asses, I avoid en masse. Basically, I love it when we go beyond what humanity has done, and focus on our future, either directly or indirectly.
    As for the cooking shows, now that's a doozy. I personally don't feel comfortable with them, and I hold them as a bastardization of the art. Much like Big Brother, X-Factor, American Idol, and whatever musical talent show, its a bastardization of the fine process you must go through to reach the lofty heights so many of these people achieve. While yes, I understand that economical status' do play a role, and that some of these people might never have achieved their places without the usage of some of these shows, it still diminishes everything anyone has ever done, like we're not good enough to get into those restaraunts that hire them afterwards, because we never were on the shows. I liken it much like a jester in a kings court, who has won the favor of the king, and thus can be allowed to preform there. The went through his farcical trials, and after much embarrassment can now enjoy a scratch behind his/her ear from their new master. Its sickening really.


    So yeah, those are my answers. Sorry if you were looking for something simplified, but there was no easy way for me to answer. If those were the answers you were looking for, then please ask away! I have much more to say.
     
    I'd punch the man in general to be perfectly honest. I've been in 3 kitchens this summer, all with different levels of insane chefs, and even though Greece's culinary scene isn't at such a high point as England's, or much of Europe's to be frank, there is no tolerable or sane reason for one man to be such a douchebag.
