No there was an official grass bird starter its the same one actually its OVER 9000 a couple pages back like when they first showed the silhouettes

Eww Sinnoh was worse...Did you guys start in Gen III because thats the only way you would like them most...

Well i did... i've played firered and Soulsilver and still like the sinnoh and Hoenn regions the best!

yeah ruby was my first pokemon game. I played blue version though right after I got it and it was awesome and all it was just that it didn't save. Silver was another one of my favs and always will be, but in general I prefer Hoenn and have lately since I don't have r/s/e anymore. I started watching pkmn though wayy before Hoenn..actually around '99.

No, I started with Red/Blue at age 5, so HA! And why are you so negative?
 
How come almost all of the pokemon have to be based off of existing creatures? I mean, look at ones like Porygon, Bronzor, and Metagross. None of them are based off of existing creatures, but that are great. Porygon is just based of of polygonal 3D sprites, Bronzor.... we'll skip that one lol, and Metagross looks like a living mech or something.

I know there are more, but the point is I think more pokemon based off of inanimate objects would be cool.

Well according to bulbapedia Metagross is based on a crab... four limbs... and porygon is based on a crane... a 3d one made up of polygons but a crane... and Bronzor is based on a ancient mirror so that one isn't a animal...but i get where you are going... we do need some more pokemon based on inanimate object... what about a computer... a Electric/psychic... or maybe a new rotom forme... a computer has a motor... i think...

One of the things I always loved about Digimon was that the creatures didn't have to be based off of anything in particular, some of them didn't resemble anything I had ever seen before.

I had always wished Pokemon creators would do something like that. Maybe this gen will delve into it a bit more.

oh digimon!, well that one in the top is an odd dinosaur, and the bottom one is a odd wolf with a horn but they are very creative with them... people say Zoroark reminds them of digimon so who knows.
 
I dont think Geodude floats, I think it sits and fist walks around... but I see the point. The primary difference between Pokemon and Digimon is that Pokemon live in a specific environment and have to be able to interact as a regular species would. Digimon doesnt have that problem really. The Pokemon "Biome" is in essense where all the ideas for Pokemon have to come from, the Earths various ecosystems, mountains, forests, oceans, plains, etc.
 
I'm looking forward to new Rotom formes... maybe a computer, lantern, and a megaphone (Hyper Voice)...
 
also digimon has EPIC evolutions completely straying away from the original rookies and surprising you. gabumon for example digivolves into a full metal missile lauching ice breathing beast
