Just pulled off a 10 win streak with Choice Band Luxray? Did Simple Beam on your Mega Audino turn the match around for you? Wanna talk about that trendy new Nidoqueen set everyone's running in VGC?

Actually, I'm gonna get the ball rolling with that last one. Ever since it top cut in Seattle last month, the Nidoqueen hype has been real. Here's the set if you're unfamiliar:

EVs: 148 HP / 84 Def / 252 SpA / 20 SpD / 4 Spe

– Earth Power
– Ice Beam

Reminds me a lot of my Expert Belt Gastrodon and Swampert, but with more weaknesses. Since most things aren't EV'd for OHKOing this season, and the meta has progressively gotten bulkier as worlds approaches, Nidoqueen has an opportunity to shine, handling fairies and dragons alike with that sweet, sweet Sheer Force boost. I'm gonna try it out in the coming week on Showdown and blabber about it here.

I've had hilarious luck stomping noobs with ubers lately using just a pixie plate Aromatisse in battle spot.

So take this -

Aromatisse;
Quiet Nature
IV's - all 31's minus atk and speed - Speed =0
EV's - 252 HP 252 Sp Atk 4 Def
Item - Pixie Plate
Ability - Aroma Veil (I think. This honestly don't matter)
Moves -
Aromatherapy, Trick Room, annnn
Just Draining Kiss yo. Dat Draining Kiss.

Someone with a calc fetish; run this shit against Darkrai's Mega Rays Zekroms and all that stuff. I throw it out alongside either Jellicent or some other trick room setter. It can set its own up; but if it wants to start kissing fools right away.... Yeahp.



Also support Minun is often underestimated, even post-pachirisu.

Setup is a wasted turn in Doubles because it leaves you wide open to double attacks. Darkrai is too frail to sustain that and doesn't fit the bill for a 'mon that can set up in Doubles.

Hahah, I know aromatisse is by no means the anti-mega-ray, but thankfully most people in battle spot doubles don't actually have adamant, or even attack boosted nature rayquazas. Moreover, if they're nooby enough to spam all ubers and hope for a win, they probably don't even know about EV's - and even the rare smart player using things like mega ray, because it's cartridge, doesn't typically have the right IV's on a rayquaza. I know, it's assuming an unfair handicap - but it's more than often the case.

Yes I am doing doubles though, and Darkrai's usually have Dark Void ('much as I hate it) over nasty plot, along with 3 attacks or the odd protect with 2.

I have a replay I can share actually where Aromatisse eats a mega ray and a darkrai who were on the field at the same time.

So guys I just want to blabber a bit about Life Orb Nidoqueen again. It took the championship in the Seniors division of US Nationals last weekend. That Ice Beam is just too much. Ice + Ground + Poison is some amazing coverage.
