It's a general chat thread that changes topic to match whichever forum it's being moved to. For example, this is Pokemon General, so we talk about Pokemon in general. XD;

On that note, what do people think about the gradual modernization of Pokemon designs? Positive or negative impact?

Okay, so my second thing was correct..

The gradual modernization of Pokémon allows for the old fans to still enjoy Pokémon aesthetically and usually does not affect the younger crowd in a bad way because kids tend to like flashy, modern designs (but usually couldn't care less.) Good impact.

Sincerely, Pokémon is one of these things that have to be in constant change, however, it shouldn't change so drastically that it doesn't looks like Pokémon anymore (look at Digimon to see what I mean).

I think Pokémon can have endless possible appearances. I don't understand how someone can look at a Pokémon and say it doesn't look like a Pokémon. That's like looking at a newly discovered mammal and saying "That doesn't look like an animal" when life can have endless amounts of appearances.

I can only think of two Pokémon that even slightly resemble an existing Digimon.

But now, with the upcoming generation, more and more are looking like them D:

Like what?

I don't see any similarities, besides Tabunne and that was one of the two I said earlier.

I didn't see your post o.o

There might be more though D:

How can you say more and more are looking like Digimon without having examples? @_@

I saw one, but I don't remember the name. Its the glob thing @_@

Are you talking about that plant? Because it's proven to be fake. The red thing is real though.

Here's a better picture of Darumakka (the red one) and Spring Shikijika:

I assume that the legs and arms are gone in the first picture of Darumakka (where the creator of the Plant Pokémon got the sprite for the fake image) is because of the battle animation.

Do you mean Rankurusu? Sorry, but I don't know how to post pictures but is a green thing, right?

Here is a picture of Rankurusu:

All of the recent new Pokemon coming out are scaring me..
You have no idea how relieved I am to hear that green flower thing is fake. ;x

Rankurusu for best Pokemon [besides the awesomeness that is Zoroark] to be revealed yet. <3

Rankurusu is my main reason for getting White. By the way, I'm not sure why, but I used to think Rankurusu was Rotom's evolution. I later learned I was wrong when I saw Rankurusu's type was Psychic.

I am surprised it isn't a Grass type to be honest. It reminds me of a eukayotic cell, the cells that make up a plant's body.

Rankarusu? isn't that the new pokemon where a dude is in this kinda jello thing?

Now THAT claim actually sounds logical.
All I've been hearing lately is "I thought it was grass type cause it's greeeen 8D".
Yeah, no fooling. D;

I also heard rumors about it being Water-Type.
It's confirmed to be a pure Psychic type.

Yep :3

Heh, wow.

But I guess Psychic could make sense. It all depends on the description of it when they release it.

My theory is, since it is a Psychic type, is that its body is made out of plasma (or pure energy) held together my psychic forces.
