Chapter One: Journeys Anew
It is a beautiful, bright morning in the Mt. Silver mountain range. Up in the cyan blue skies, flies a majestic Charizard with a healed scar accross its eye. Yes, this is the region of Johto; a region full of plains and lakes. All seemed calm and perfect outside. The rather old Charizard carried an elderly man with a crimson pokemon hat, behind the elderly man was a young boy with radiant orange hair.
"Well Damion, you're finally going to start off on your own journey. I wished it would be in the Kanto region, but unfortunately Prof. Oak passed away. So now I've talked with Prof. Elm, and he is estatic to have you start off." The elderly blonde man said. Damion grinned as he took his retro earphones off of his ears and placed them around his neck,
"Thanks grandpa, I can't wait. So where exactly are we going?" Damion looked down and saw a large mountain range.
"There." His grandfather said with a voice full of excitement. He pointed at a nicely nestled town next to a long river, "Newbark Town. Where the winds of new beginning blow." Grandpa Tai grinned as the words left his lips, bringing back old memories.
The Charizard lowered in altitude until finally he reached the town, he fiercly flapped his wings to allow a soft landing. Charizard lowered his head to allow the two to get off,
"Thanks Charco." Damion hugged the Charizard around his neck, "I'm gonna miss you buddy." Damion said. Damion and his grandfather shared a hug before they flew off, leaving Damion looking up at the flying duo. Damion grinned as he gripped the single strap of his traveling bag.
'I can't wait! I want my Larvitar that Grandpa Tai told me about.' A kittens mile spread across Damion's face as the thoughts of the baby Larvitar entered his mind. He looked down at a postcard with an image of Prof. Elm's lab. Damion looked up to see the exact same laboratory, large windows and all.
He entered the large building with calm eyes and his earphones on, "So where is this professor?" He asked himself, but his question answered himself when Damion spotted a large group of kids in a fomred lined. Leading up to an elderly man with gray hair and a semi-wrinkled face.
The young boy walked over to the line and lined up, the professor smiled as all of the trainers gathered.
"Today is an important day for you eight young trainers, it is the day you get to set out on your journey and discover if you have what it takes to make it." The professor paused only to rub his head, bothered by something,
"But also... i'm sure most of you have heard about the recent problems arising within Johto.. Along your journey I will be reporting to each of you, giving you different missions, when I hear of events.. This may be dangerous as you gain experience and fame, the better you become the bigger a target you will become. First things first when you reach the Ilex forest.... wait for me to call you, don't just go in.. you may never get out" Elm stands there and takes a deep breath, Damion was taken aback.
'What does he mean...never get out?' He said mentally.
"Now who wants there pokemon?" He says as a smile goes across his face, Damion's eyes narrowed.
'Somethings wrong...' He thought, but this thought seemed to disappear as he was handed a tray by Elm's assistant. The tray held a red device, similar to a miniature computer. On the tray were five miniature capsule balls, he took the balls and clipped them on his belt then latched the pokedex on his right hip.
Damion grinned as he looked into the pokeball, seeing the baby Larvitar sleep. He looked up to see Prof. Elm sharing his smile then opened his mouth to speak. But just as he did a large flash of bright white light appeared, the light engulfed the entire lab. Damion shielded his eyes with his arm, when he brought back his arm down he saw a man in pure white clothing staring down Damion.
"W-Who are you?!" Damion exclaimed at the man. Who wore a large white cloak, concealing his entire body and his face was concealed in a shadow casted by the large hood. The man simply stared at Damion and reached into his cloak to bring out a pokeball. He pointed it at Damion and pressed the sensor in the center, releasing a pile of pink goop.
"Ditto?!" Damion screamed out as the goop took form of a small ditto,
"Alright then, Battle time!" Damion soffed as he launched his own pokeball at the lab floor to release his Larvitar.
~~~~~~~~~~
"Let's do this! Start things off with a Leer attack!" Damion flipped open his pokedex to aid him in his battle. The Larvitar's eyes turned a pale gold color as it stared down the Ditto. The Ditto pokemon felt uneasy as it reverted to a pudding substance.
"Now, Sandstorm attack to damage it!" Damion yelled out, creating large vortex of sand. Covering the entire laboratory, he looked around to see the other new trainers battling as well,
"Hopefully this won't interfere." Damion gritted his teeth as the looked around. The man chuckled,
"Child's play. Ditto, transform." The hooden figure said plainly, sending a shiver down Damion's spine. The pink pokemon took form of the Larvitar, both pokemon and trainer were shocked.
"Oh man, now it won't get damaged!!" Damion snapped his fingers,
"Now. Bite attack!!" Damion pointed at the Ditto pokemon, Larvitar dashed towards the fake and bit into its skin. The copy Larvitar screamed in pain as a gash formed on its shoulder,
"Hmph!" The man grunted, "Bite attack as well." The copy Larvitar bit down on Larvitar's shoulder, both pokemon now locked in bite attacks.
"Crap." The boy swore under his breath, when his eyes widened. "My Larvitar's bite is doing more damage thanks to Leer!" Damion grinned,
"Larvitar, use Leer again!" The pokemon glared at the copy Larvitar, melting it once more into pudding.
"Bite!" Larvitar bit down onto the jello-like pokemon and launched it to the wall. Splattering it, swirls in its eyes.
"Well then..." The man grunted as he thrusted the pokeball at the Ditto to return it. The man dissapeared in the same fashion as he appeared. Leaving Damion standing there with his new Larvitar, in victory.
He put on his earphones to listen to his music, the Larvitar climbing onto his shoulder.
"Good job...Taro." Damion chuckled at the nickname,
'What just happened?' He thought to himself.
