Name: Vincent Cairne Terveres (Goes by Vincent only around his grandfather, normally goes by Cairne)

Age: 18

Gender:
Male

History: Vincent has born in Kanto to his mother the president of the Kanto Pokemon Fan Club and his father an artist and son of Gage, who at once point was considered one of the worlds best trainers. When Vincent turned 12 he moved to Johto to live with his grandfather, who had recently retired as a member of the Elite Four. He moved because he wanted to be one of the worlds strongest trainers and he felt learning from his grandfather was one of the best ways for him to become a master. To his dismay though, his grandfather refused to give him a Pokemon until he turned 18. His excuse was that he didn't get his first Pokemon until he was 18 and had trained for many years to become strong. Vincent grudgingly allowed his grandfathers rules and learned as much as he could about Pokemon.

Gage had taught Vincent many things, including the fact that he should always think something through before rushing ahead, he showed him the old burns going up his arm from when he was Vincents age. Vincent proved to his grandfather that he was finally ready for his first Pokemon and so Gage called up an old friend of his, Prof. Elm. At this very moment Vincent is riding Angel(His grandfathers Altaria) to Prof. Elms Laboratory to pick his first Pokemon up and begin his journey of greatness.

(ABOUT HOW HIS PARENTS MET---- Vincents father had always been interested in the beauty of Pokemon so of course he couldnt help but fall for Vincents mother who was taking over for Gage as president of the Pokemon Fan Club. All of her Pokemon were beautiful, and so was she.)

Personality:
Vincent has a great love for Pokemon and does whatever it takes to protect them. He loves battling Pokemon (Or he will) and he loves the challenge and everything about it. He will fight fo the underdog and stay loyal to his friends at all costs. Once he has sworn his allegance to somebody he will do whatever it takes to follow through with his vow.

(^Got lazy thar sorry... A little Tired....)

Appearance:
Vincent stands at about 6 feet and weighs almost 200 pounds. He is very broad and is slightly muscular. A lot of people say that Vincents face and body type are similar to his grandfather when they were the same age, but his hair color, he gets from his mother. He has long black hair going half way down his back and resting over his shoulders. Sometimes, he will pull his hair back into a pony tail just for the sake of convenience. His eyes are Brown and below his lip he has a small black soul patch stretching from the base of his lip to the top of his chin. As for an outfit he wears a pair of blue jeans and a very loose fitting gray T-shirt. over the T-shirt he wears a black cloth zip-up hoodie sweat shirt that on the back has his families classic yin-yang symbol. He has black and gray sneakers and a black leather belt. Sometimes he is seen wearing sunglasses on a sunny day.

Starter Pokemon:
Male Numel

Hey everyone the OOC thread is now up!.. From now on post all your questions and concerns there! I'll work on making everyones profiles today!

Jakki took a deep breath, and inhaled the fresh air of New Bark Town. It smelled like fresh leaves, with a hint of the ocean. It was nostalgic, as if she had been here before, yet the town was unfamiliar to her. "Maybe I had been here once as a baby," she thought. "It's perfectly plausible since father has met Prof. Elm before." Her mind lingered on her father, but she quickly tried to dismiss it. She could not.

It was hard for Jakki to not think about her father. Besides, he was the whole reason she decided to become a Pokemon trainer in the first place. Her parent's didn't take the decision well at first, since she was an only child, but eventually after much persuasion and explaining, the reluctantly let her go. "I will make you proud, Father. Just you wait." she thought.

The laboratory was easy to find, since it was the largest building in town. She went inside and was amazed at the high tech lab equipment inside. Her family wasn't very rich, so they couldn't afford the latest and greatest technology for their research. Quickly realizing that she shouldn't get distracted, she headed over to where she saw Prof. Elm and several other trainers. She got in the edge of the line, staying a couple steps away from the other trainers.

"Today is an important day for you eight young trainers," began the professor. "It is the day you get to set out on your journey and discover if you have what it takes to make it." He pauses for a second and rubs hes forehead. He seemed to be thinking about something important, but she couldn't figure out what.

"But also... I'm sure most of you have heard about the recent problems arising within Johto," he continued. Jakki's head perked up in curiosity. She knew that Team Rocket was coming back, but from the tone of his voice, it was probably more serious than she thought it was.

"Along your journey I will be reporting to each of you, giving you different missions, when I hear of events.. This may be dangerous as you gain experience and fame, the better you become the bigger a target you will become. First things first when you reach the Ilex forest.... wait for me to call you, don't just go in.. you may never get out" Elm stands there and takes a deep breath.

"Wait," she thought. "Missions? Events? Ilex Forest?" Jakki felt uncertain. She had her own mission that she had to complete. She didn't want to deal with additional ones. She also tried to remember why she recognized the Ilex Forest. She knew she must have heard it once before, but she probably didn't think it was important at the time.

"Now who wants there pokemon?" asked Prof. Elm. He began to hand each trainer a Pokemon, a Pokedex, and five empty pokeballs. When he gets to Jakki, he gives her a young Gligar. She looked down at the Pokemon in awe. This was her first time having a Pokemon of her own.

After he finished passing out the items, Prof. Elm starts to say something, but immediatly gets cut off by a flash of bright light. Suddenly, eight trainers cloaked in white appearead and faced each of the trainers. One of the trainers in white silently stared her down. "Who are you?" she asked, confused bout this whole situation. The trainer simply brought out a pokeball and released their Pokemon, which she recognized as a Ditto.

"A Pokemon battle, eh?" she said. Jakki had never been in a Pokemon battle before, but decided that there was no alternative. "Come on out, Gligar!" She shouted as she released the Gligar from it's pokeball. "Use Poison Sting!" she called.

"Transform, Ditto. Then dodge." responded the trainer. The Ditto quickly transformed into a copy of Jakki's Gligar, then flew upwards to avoid it's attack.

"Quickly, use Sand Attack before he can counter!" she shouted. Her Gligar used it's claws to throw sand at the copy. The copy became temporarily blinded by the sand. "Now hurry and use Poison Sting!" Gligar quickly used it's Poison Sting on the copy, causing it to take damage.

The Gligar copy fell to the ground, and got back up, cringing occasionally. Jakki grinned in satisfaction. She could tell that the copy was poisoned, giving her an advantage. "Don't think you've won yet." said the trainer. "Sand Attack." The copy Gligar began to throw sand at Gligar's face, while he became blinded.

"Poison Sting." the trainer said. The copy flew at Gligar and tried to use Poison Sting, but because it's vision was still fuzzy from earlier, it just skimmed the edge of his body. The copy Gligar crashed into the ground.

"Locate the copy, and use Poison sting before it can get up!" Jakki's Gligar responded with an inaudible cry and hit the copy right on target. "Good thing Gligar has eco location, or else he wouldn't have been able to hit the copy." she thought.

The copy struggled to get up, but eventually fainted from the poison. "Tch," responded the cloaked trainer as he returned the Ditto to it's pokeball and vanished.

Jakki sighed in relief. "Phew! I'm glad that's over with." She looked happily at her Pokemon. "Good job, Gligar!" She kneeled down, and examined his condition. "Hmm... you seem to be okay, but you might have gotten poisoned from when you were attacked." She stood up again. "Well, judging from the size of your stinger, you must be a male Gligar. So, I'm going to name you Glimaru." She smiled in satisfaction.

PsychoJigglypuff: Good post! Very descriptive! Anyways Jakki recieved a level five male Gligar, a pokedex, and five pokeballs.. Gligar grew to lvl 6!

Chapter 1 - Beginnings await!

"ZZZZZZZZZZ" Scythe snored as lhe aid lifelessly in his bed. "SCYTHE GET UP OR YOU'LL BE LATE!!!!" his father yelled from outside the door. "huh..oh ya today's the start of my journey...i best get out of bed now!" the young adult calmly said as he rubbed his eyes and jumped out his bed.

After throwing on his clothes Scythe combed his hair upwards like usuall and walked out into the kitchen where his father was. "So son are you ready to be a trainer now?" he asked his son with a confident look on his face. Scythe stared back up at his father and let out a loud holler, "You bet I am!!!" "Good i'm glad to hear it...just be careful son..." the man said to his son with a look of nervousness in his eyes. "Don't worry Dad, ever since the accident i've been handling myself better. But I should get going before i end up being late." Scythe said as he rubbed the back of his head. "Right, go on." his father said back happily. After that Scythe rushed out the door and was on his way to Professor Elm's lab.

After walking for about 10 minutes, Scythe came to a place that looked very familiar to him. He stopped and stared at his surrondings than said, "Not today...I will make it to Elm's lab this time!" He than continued on his way. 10 minutes later Scythe had finaly made it and he than entered the lab.

"Uhh hello there kid! My names Elm and your the first one here." The older man who apparantly was Elm said. "Really? I almost thought I was gonna be late." Scythe said with a chuckle. "Well what's your name?" Elm asked the boy. "Scythe Rainer sir." he answered back. "Oh...glad to see you managed to make it this time." Elm said as he remembered what happened last time Scythe was scheduled to recieve a pokemon. "Ya me to." Scythe said. "Well why dont you go ahead and stand over there until everyone else arrives." Elm said back. Scythe obeyed and stood near the entrance.

Soon everyone had arrived and Elm began to talk, "Today is an important day for you five young trainers, it is the day you get to set out on your journey and discover if you have what it takes to make it." Scythe listened to Elm patiently waiting to recieve his pokemon. Elm pauses for a second and rubs hes forehead as if he was contemplating something.

"But also... i'm sure most of you have heard about the recent problems arising within Johto.. Along your journey I will be reporting to each of you, giving you different missions, when I hear of events.. This may be dangerous as you gain experience and fame, the better you become the bigger a target you will become. First things first when you reach the Ilex forest.... wait for me to call you, don't just go in.. you may never get out" Elm stands there and takes a deep breath.

"Now who wants there pokemon?" He says as a smile goes across his face.

Here it was the moment Scythe had been waiting for since he was little. He watched as Elm handed everyone in front of him five pokeballs, a pokemon, and a pokedex. "Well here ya go Scythe." Elm said to him as he handed him his pokemon, pokeballs, and pokedex. "Alright!" Scythe thought to himself until he realized Elm had stopped moving and eight guys in white cloaks were standing behind him. "What the hell?" he yelled out as the white cloaked people sent out pokemon to attack all the new trainers.

"Ahhh.." Scythe let out as for a second he was frozen from fear. But than Scythe noticed all of the other trainers battling and he knew he had to do the same. "Come on out pokemon!" he yelled as he threw the pokeball into the air. "PIKA!" the yellow mouse pokemon said as it came out of the pokeball. "Wow I got a Pikachu..how cool! now lets see what pokemon that is!" Scythe said as he pointed the pokedex at the opponents pink blob. "Ditto!" the pokedex said as it also read off the pokemon's stats.

"Alright Pikachu use thundershock!" Scythe hollered to his pokemon. "Pika!" the pokemon said as it began to charge up. But within an instant there were two Pikachu's instead of a Pikachu and a Ditto. "Ahh I forgot...Ditto can transform." Scythe instantly said as he remembered Ditto's only attack. "PIIIIKAAA!" the charging Pikachu said as it finaly sent out it's thundershock at the copy cat Pikachu.
"DII" the Ditto said as it dodge the thundershock and headed straight for Scythe's Pikachu. "Pikachu hit it with a tail whip!" Scythe said as he though fast. "PIII!" Pikachu said as it slammed it's tail into the attacking Ditto. "DIII" the pokemon said as it flew backwards. "Now Pikachu thundershock it again while it's down!" Scythe yelled. "PIIIIIIIIKAAAACHUUUU!!!" the pokemon said as it sent out a stronger thundershock than the last one.

"DIITTOO!" the pink blob said as it took the attack and transformed back. "Hmmph" the white cloaked trainer said as he returned his pokemon. "Wow goodjob Pikachu!" Scythe said as he returned it to it's pokeball. Scythe put his head down for a second and when he picked it back up the white cloaked men were gone. "What just happened....and who were those guys...." he said to himself as he looked at Pikachu's pokeball.

Tim0789: Great post! Scythe recieved a level 5 Pikachu, a pokedex, and five pokeballs.. Pikachu grew to lvl 6!

(Been a long while since I've made a descriptive long post, so bear with me as I tend to slip from past to present tense a bit, it'll get better with time. Also I sent my SU to dboring and was accepted. ^_^)

Beep! Beep!! Beep!!! Kenneth groaned rolled over in his bed. He reached over to the dresser next to the bed and clicked a button on the side of his pokegear. He rubbed his eyes, turned back over and pulled the covers over his head.

"Just a little bit longer…" He mumbled. After a few minutes of failing to go back to sleep and groaned again and sat up. His hair fell over his head and blocked the few rays of sunlight that had snuck into the room through the curtains. For the next few moments, he just sat there staring at the wall. Today…I'm finally going to become a trainer. Kenneth thought proudly as he finally got out of the bed.

He headed for the bathroom and took a shower and freshen himself up. After he was done, he went back into the room, got dressed, slung his backpack over his shoulder, and grabbed the keys to the room. As he left the room he strapped his pokegear onto his left wrist.

The hallway of the pokecenter was pretty empty for the morning. While walking back to the lobby Kenneth passed a few early morning trainers, who were up and about getting ready to head off to their next destination. He couldn't help but grin, thinking of how he too, would be one of those trainers soon.

In the lobby, he found a few people mingling and a trainer getting his Pokémon back from Nurse Joy. He strolled over to the counter and laid the keys on it.

"Oh, Mr. Webb, you're up already?" Kenneth nodded. Nurse Joy smiled and took the keys from the counter. "I hoped you enjoyed your night." By the time she had the keys back in their place on the wall the boy was already at the door.

"Thank you!" With that he was out the door and out onto the main road in Cherrygrove City. He took in a deep breath, enjoying the fresh morning air. After securing his backpack, Kenneth headed off for New Bark Town. He had quite a walk ahead of him, but he knew that if he hurried he would make it to Prof. Elm's Lab before noon.

After almost two hours of walking Kenneth found himself at the main road leading into New Bark Town. He was a little sweaty from the walk and the heat wasn't any better. He continued on and wiped his face with a towel from his bag. Only moments later he passed the welcome sign for New Bark Town. This would be the first time he would ever step foot in New Bark and the beginning of an adventure for him.

Hmm, the town where the winds of a new beginning blow, eh? Any other time Kenneth would chuckle, but considering the fact that he was about to meet THE Prof. Elm and receive his own pokemon he could beam, unable to contain his excitement.

His feet lead him through the town, while his eyes took in every detail it could. Every step he took closer to the lab would cause his heart to beat harder. Soon his was almost visibly shaking from being nervous and excited at the same time.

It didn't take long for him to reach the lab and to his surprise he was the last one there. There was already a group waiting at the entrance. Prof. Elm was in the midst of them smiling and talking.

"Ah, there goes the last one." He stated. Kenneth blushed and rubbed the back of his head as the others stared at him for a second. "You must be Kenneth. We've been waiting for you."

"Sorry, it took me longer to get here than I expected." Prof. Elm just nodded and opened the door and led everyone inside. Kenneth was amazed with everything inside the lab. As he stood line his eyes wandered left and right, taking in the sight of the lab. It was much more impressive than his grandfather's and messier.

He was so absorbed in the view of the lab that he didn't hear some of the things Elm said and he jumped when he heard him speak right in front of him. He looked up at Elm, who held a tray in front of him. "Go ahead, take 'em." Kenneth nervously took one of the pokeballs that were on a circular device. He felt faint, but did his best to not show it as he took the empty pokeballs and pokedex and latched it to his belt.

After the rest of the kids had their items, Prof. Elm placed the tray on an empty table and turned to face them. Just as he opened his mouth to speak again a bright light flashed behind him. The light blinded Kenneth for a second but once he look up he was shocked to see nine guys in white cloaks standing behind the Professor. Each of them threw out a pokeball and nine dittos showed up.

Overcoming the shock, Kenneth held up his pokemon and faced one of the men. "Sorry pal, I don't know why you're here, but you're going down!" He gulped, his heart racing.

~~~~~~~~~~
"Ok, first things first. Go!" Kenneth threw the ball at the ground before him and the pokemon inside was released in a flash of light.
"Poli?" Kenneth smiled; holding the empty pokeball with his left and took a hold of his pokedex with his right. "Ok, now let's see what moves you know." Using his thumb he pressed a button on the pokedex and aimed it at the poliwag.
"Bubble and water spout…this isn't gonna be good." He looked up from the pokedex and saw not one, but two poliwags. "Not good at all."
"Ditto, use bubble!"
"Poliwag dodge and counter would a bubble attack of your own." Kenneth yelled. His poliwag jumped to the left, narrowly missing the bubbles. It then took a big breath and sent its own bubble attack at the copy.
"Hmph, you'd best do better kid. Ditto move out of the way and used bubble again!" The copy poliwag did as it was instructed, spinning around the bubbles and launched its attack again.
"Poliwag, dodge!" However it was too late and poliwag was hit full force with the bubbles and stumbled back. It shook itself and stood up, unharmed by the bubbles.
"What! Ditto, attack again with bubble!" Kenneth smiled as the bubbles crashed against his poliwag, who jumped in joy when it was hit by the bubbles.
"It's no use. Poliwag's ability is water absorb. Water attacks won't work. However I don't believe the abilty works in your case though. Poliwag, Bubble!" The poliwag took a deep breath and launched a wave of bubbles at the copy. The hit was direct and the copy fell down.
"Now one more time! Bubble!!" Again the attack was a direct hit and the ditto revert back to its normal form.
"Darn, you win…" The man grumbled recalling his pokemon and in a bright white flash the man was gone. Kenneth looked at the spot where he once stood and blinked. Who that heck was that guy?
"Poli?" Kenneth blinked again, being disturbed from his thoughts by the call of his pokemon.
"Way to go…" Kenneth rushed over to his poliwag, giving it a big hug. "Hmm, you need a name," He said as he looked at his pokedex again.
"Ah, so you're a female. Then…I'll call you Lily!"
Liliana slouched into her seat by the window. She was watching the scenery flash by quickly toward its destination. It was still very early, it had been even earlier when she boarded the train, so Liliana was very tired. She was, however, determined not to fall asleep. What if she missed her stop? The train would drop her off right by New Bark, where her first Pokémon would be waiting for her. She watched the train stop in Goldenrod Station where more than half of the train emptied. People working in the big city. Only a handful got in with her.
She sighed in anticipation of the rest of the journey. She would most likely come just in time , if not a tiny bit late. But she hadn't wanted to take the earlier train and come several hours too early. But what it did give her was a painful goodbye from her family.
She had almost succeeded getting away before her family woke up, but of course Rose was way ahead of her. Her little sister had peeked out of her room just a mere half hour before Liliana had to leave. She had once again begged her to stay, but she couldn't. Her mother, Jocelyn, had always awoken from the noise, but she didn't say anything. She had just stared at Liliana as she packed her bag, Jocelyn's mind far away from the now. Liliana had told Rose to take good care of herself and Jocelyn. There were tears and clinging and begging, but she had to go. Rose would take care of herself just fine.
Over the intercom the driver of the train announced that they'd be arriving in New Bark soon. He told everyone left on the train that it was the last stop. Liliana got up and joined the line waiting for the doors to open. There were only half a dozen people left, the town was so small there weren't a lot of people that had the need to get out.
It was easy to find the Laboratory, it was the biggest building without competition in the small town. She was the last person to arrive there, as she had expected she was late. The assistants gave her looks of disapproval as she made her way towards the line. She had missed most of Elm's speech.
" First things first when you reach the Ilex forest.... wait for me to call you, don't just go in.. you may never get out. Now who wants there pokemon?"
For a second Liliana wondered what he was talking about before, but her attention wondered as the professor went along the line to give everyone their Pokémon and the Pokédexes. She didn't have any time to spare, because suddenly everyone froze. Eight cloaked strangers jumped in front of them, and without a pause they each released a Ditto and attacked. There was no time to do anything but release their Pokémon and defend themselves.
This is exactly what Liliana did. She released her Chikorita, and she hadn't gotten out before the Ditto transformed into a direct replica. The woman in the cloak was not wasting any time.
"Chikorita tackle!" She shouted, and the creature immediately answered her. The ditto, who didn't seem to be entirely comfortable in its form yet, had no time to get away. Apparently this Chikorita was fast.
The cloaked stranger grunted with annoyance as she commanded her Ditto to get up and get it together. The Ditto, however, didn't seen all too pleased with its master, but it did what she asked nevertheless. She quickly commanded it to tackle back, but Liliana was faster.
"Chikorita, use Growl!" she shouted, and the Chikorita obeyed without a second thought. For such a small creature she could growl like the best. She let out a very low growl. The result was that Ditto seemed a bit less eager to attack, but it still went through with the tackle. Chikorita tried to side-step it, but got hit.
"Chikorita, quickly return the favor!" The Chikorita shook her head as if to shake off the shock of the attack and broke into a run toward her opponent. The Ditto still didn't seemed to be rather uncoordinated in its Chikorita form, which made Liliana wonder if it was still young perhaps. The Chikorita hit it full on again, but seemed a little dizzy after hitting the Ditto with her head.
The woman took advantage of this and ordered her Ditto to tackle again. The ditto hit Chikorita full on this time, since she was too disoriented and dizzy from a full blow with her head. Liliana made a silent note to train her not to tackle with her head.
"Chikorita, come on! He's right next to you! Tackle him!" The Chikorita seemed to have gained sense of her surroundings again and found the Ditto running towards her with another tackle. She quickly jumped into her own and the two collided headfirst. Chikorita rebounded backwards with another dizzy look in her eyes. Ditto poofed back into its original form,, but it was obviously not in a state of battling anymore. The strange woman let out a sort of angry growl as she returned her Pokémon and fled the sight.
"Chikorita! Are you okay? What the hell was that?!"
Jake was standing on the deck of the boat, looking over the railings. It wasn't moving too quickly, as they were in just a smaller channel to the region of Johto. A giant smile was across Jake's face, and he was all too excited to begin his journey. He knew nothing about Johto, but that brings even more fun with starting a journey. Within fifteen minutes, Jake could see the little town of New Bark getting bigger and bigger, until the boat reached a complete stop.
"Those going to New Bark Town, welcome to Johto, and we appreciate your business!" said one of the sailors and Jake was already running for the steps off the boat. Sadly, he lost his footing, and took a large tumble down the stairs. He quickly pulled himself off the ground, and looked at everyone else still on the boat.
"What, you've never seen someone fall off a boat before?" Jake said sarcastically. He decided that if he made fun of himself first, no one else could have the honor of doing it.
Jake already knew where he was going, as the lab was the largest building in the entire, and rather small, town. It was a quite rural town, with no big buildings, apartments, or anything urban really. Jake didn't mind; it reminded him of his home in Pallet Town a little.
It wasn't long before Jake was already standing in front of the door to the lab, where can could see trainers inside already, just appearing to be waiting for more trainers to arrive. He wasn't sure how many were left to show up, but Jake quickly walked into the lab, where a tingle of coolness from the powerful air conditioning could be felt.
"Sorry I'm late!" Jake started. "TRAFFIC!"
"It is quite alright, as we haven't started yet." The professor said. He then stood in front of all of the trainers, about to give a speech.
"Today is an important day for you five young trainers, it is the day you get to set out on your journey and discover if you have what it takes to make it."
Elm pauses for a second and rubs his forehead as if he was contemplating something.
We know, but why do you look so hesitant? What's going on…?
"But also... I'm sure most of you have heard about the recent problems arising within Johto... Along your journey I will be reporting to each of you, giving you different missions, when I hear of events. This may be dangerous as you gain experience and fame, the better you become the bigger a target you will become. First things first when you reach the Ilex forest.... wait for me to call you, don't just go in... You may never get out" Elm stands there and takes a deep breath.
Oh, that's just great. I'm probably the ONLY one who didn't know about this. But whatever, I can solve the problems!
"Now who wants their Pokemon?" He says as a smile goes across his face.
All of the trainers quickly raised their hands, and Elm grabbed the Pokeballs with the starting Pokemon, the Pokedexs, and five additional Pokeballs for trainers to use for capturing more companions. He stood at the end of the line, and was prepared for another speech…
…But there's a quick flash in front of all of the trainer's eyes and Elm seems to be stopped altogether in a motionless pause. Behind him eight strangers step out all wearing white cloaks. They looked a tad evil, and their eyes were dark and creepy looking. They then all at once release the same pokemon, without saying a word the pokemon attack at you. The other trainers were all confused, but all at once, each trainer sent out the Pokemon Elm had just given them.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Go, WHATEVER THE HECK YOU ARE!" Jake yelled out.
In the bright flash of light, a green Pokemon, with its arms that looked like blades appeared. Jake held out his Pokedex, so he knew what his new Pokemon was capable of, let alone know what the heck it was.
[PokeCommunity.com] The Johto Leagues Fate
Scyther, the Mantis Pokemon. The sharp scythes on its forearms become increasingly sharp by cutting through hard objects. Its attacks are Quick Attack, Leer, and Focus Energy.
Jake also decided to hold his Pokedex to his opponent's Pokemon, just to see what the heck that pink blob of ugly was, but Jake did admit that its smile was adorable.
[PokeCommunity.com] The Johto Leagues Fate
Ditto, the Transform Pokemon. It has the ability to reconstitute its entire cellular structure to transform into whatever it sees. Its sole move is Transform. When used, Ditto transforms itself into the opponent's Pokemon.
So I'm basically going to be fighting my own Pokemon. GREAT…Just great…
In a moment's notice, the man in white's Ditto became an exact replica of Jake's Scyther. Jake wasn't too sure what he was doing yet, so he decided to try to form some sort of strategy.
"Use Focus Energy Scyther!"
Jake decided that if Scyther was focusing his energy, his attacks would be more effective, giving him an edge in battle. The opponent clearly had the same idea, as the fake Scyther was ordered to use a Focus Energy as well. Jake wasn't sure how to counteract his own strategy, so he just went on impulse.
"Quick Attack Scyther!"
Jake's Scyther charged at a very high speed towards the Ditto, and landed a direct hit with his arm scythes across the body of the Ditto. Jake remembered that the more that the scythes were used, the sharper, and therefore more deadly, they became. It was Jake's only hope, and hopefully the opponent didn't know that.
Before long, the man in white ordered his own Quick Attack, but Jake was prepared. He ordered Scyther to use his own Quick Attack to dodge the blow. Quite quickly, Jake's Scyther was behind the Ditto, and it didn't take long for a few direct blows to the back for it to fall down. Ditto pulled itself back up, not going down without any sort of good fight.
"Leer Ditto!"
The Ditto-Scyther started to glare at Scyther, but Jake wasn't too sure what the point was. Scyther seemed rather unaffected, as trying to scare something as fierce as Scyther wasn't going to work. Hello, his arms are swords!
Jake decided to do one more Quick Attack, hoping to end the battle quickly. It didn't' take long for Scyther to be charging faster than normal to ram Ditto against the wall, and multiple times at that. It seemed that the Focus Energy was allowing Scyther to be stronger, and Jake was loving it. Ditto fell to the ground, and transformed back to its normal state, knocked out. The trainer returned his Pokemon, and fled.
Jake looked around at all of the other trainers, and they had all won their fights as well. Each Ditto fell down and out, and each man in white fled. Jake looked around at the trainer's faces, and they were all in dismay.
What the heck was that all about? I mean, did they know that Jake had arrived to Johto!? Either way, that was just sketchy.
First Post # of post 1
After you each have successfully defeated the Cloaked Trainers they vanish. A few moments later Elm moves again. He continues to talk as if nothing had just happened before you all interrupt him and explain that the eight cloaked men just appeared and froze the professor. The prof, then looks a little stunned but at the same time realizes this was going to happen eventually.
"Well I guess my fears were correct, you aren't going to be safe on your journey.. as you have just witnessed it seems they will be monitoring your process as trainers.. You may very well be followed every step and hunted at some point.. Why they are doing this I have no idea, but maybe it's time for you to learn about something that happened way before your time.. You will not find this event in any history book or text.. the only people who remember it are those who are still around, myself, Oak, and Rowan all worked to stop it along with a few selected trainers, many died along this time line. The event I am talking about can only be referred to as the Dark Days of Kanto." Elm then pauses a look of unease comes about him but he starts to speak again.
"It was around 40-50 years ago, a young trainer went mad with power and vanished from the indigo league finals after losing to Zypher. This mans name was Beo and while he was gone he was in search of the ultimate power, to be able to control the shadows and he was successful in capturing Giratina. With this pokemons power he returned to kanto and spread darkness throughout it causing everything to turn dark and die, pokemon fled the area people fled from Kanto, the Indigo league was in ruins. Until Zypher set up the Clan of Hope, to face of against the Dark Brotherhood. Six new trainers took there place and fought huge odds to bring Kanto back to it's glory, some fell off the right path and landed in the darkness but eventually they all found there way back to the light. But Beo wouldn't let this stop him he captured Darkrai and then he went after the time controlling pokemon Dialga with this he went back in time to make sure he won the pokemon league finals that day, and kill Zypher there on the spot. But the clan of hope would not let this happen with the help of Celebi they traveled back and stopped him. Kanto went back to normal and the very pokemon world was saved from the darkness.." He pauses and wipes his forehead.
"Now these events most likely are not related but what scares me is that after the events Giratina's and Darkrai's pokeballs were given to Celebi and with the help of Dialga the two hid them in time and space… About a year ago a strange event happened in the Ilex forest home of Celebi… It just stopped in place.. in time.. Trainers have gone in.. but have not come out… One of the trainers from the Clan of Hope, a close friend of mine has been investigating this event and it seems to be involved with the other missing trainers.. Sadly though before he could finish his research it seems he was captured to or that is what his last message read… So I ask please do not go out there trying to be heroes and figure this out on your own.. Just do what you can to stay safe.. Now I need to go rest I'm feeling well.. I will contact you in a few days.. Good bye. Elm says all of this as he moves into a back room and lays down.
What to do:
 • Tell if you have ever heard of this story before (although more then likely you have not)
 • Disscuss the legend of Celebi
 • Describe if you believe the stories of the old prof. Elm or if you think he has lost it in his old age
 • And then leave the lab
Sorry, but I've recently got a new idea for a fan fic, so I'll have to drop out of this. So I'll be dropping my reservation!
Suddenly time was normal again. Sahib looked at Professor Elm, and he was positive that the professor had no clue what had just happened. Several of the students spoke out, but Sahib crossed his arms silently and waited. The professor looked rather stunned, and then he sighed softly. Sahib's eyebrow arched, so he knew.
"Well I guess my fears were correct, you aren't going to be safe on your journey…as you have just witnessed it seems they will be monitoring your process as trainers…You may very well be followed every step and hunted at some point…Why they are doing this I have no idea, but maybe it's time for you to learn about something that happened way before your time…You will not find this event in any history book or text…the only people who remember it are those who are still around, myself, Oak, and Rowan all worked to stop it along with a few selected trainers, many died along this time line. The event I am talking about can only be referred to as the Dark Days of Kanto." Elm paused, looking rather anxious and uneasy. Sahib stayed silent, but before anyone else could try to speak, Elm continued with his speech.
"It was around 40-50 years ago, a young trainer went mad with power and vanished from the indigo league finals after losing to Zypher. This mans name was Beo and while he was gone he was in search of the ultimate power, to be able to control the shadows and he was successful in capturing Giratina. But the clan of hope would not let this happen with the help of Celebi they traveled back and stopped him. Kanto went back to normal and the very Pokémon world was saved from the darkness…" Elm trailed off. He paused and let out a small breath. Then he wiped his slightly sweaty forehead.
Sahib's eyes narrowed during the pause. My parents spoke something of this, but they never told me the story. I always thought it was just a legend, he thought. A frown marred his face. I don't know if I should trust his judgment or not. He is getting older, but…Sahib bit the inside of his cheek. He was staring at the floor rather seriously, debating silently in his mind. Before he could get too in depth into his thinking, the professor sighed softly and began again. This time, it was to end the tale.
"Now these events most likely are not related but what scares me is that after the events Giratina's and Darkrai's pokeballs were given to Celebi and with the help of Dialga the two hid them in time and space…About a year ago a strange event happened in the Ilex forest home of Celebi…It just stopped in place…in time…Trainers have gone in…but have not come out…One of the trainers from the Clan of Hope, a close friend of mine has been investigating this event and it seems to be involved with the other missing trainers…Sadly though before he could finish his research it seems he was captured to or that is what his last message read…So I ask please do not go out there trying to be heroes and figure this out on your own…Just do what you can to stay safe…Now I need to go rest I'm feeling well…I will contact you in a few days…Good bye." With those final words, Elm moved off to the back of the room. Sahib's nose wrinkled and he had a suspicious look on his face as Elm moved back to lie down.
Sahib shook his head. He noticed that several of the other kids were buzzing about the tale, muttering to each other and talking. He finally decided—it was pointless not to agree with Elm. The tale was probably true, and Sahib honestly didn't know what they were supposed to do about it. Save the world or something? He thought to himself disbelievingly. He scoffed and then shook his head. I guess this'll just make the whole journey a lot more perilous, he concluded.
So, he thought to himself, Celebi is probably in trouble if all of this is happening. Sahib began to slip silently past the others on his way to the door. He moved his backpack several times so he didn't hit anyone. I guess I'll just have to be extra careful. If Giratina and Darkrai are unleashed again…probably means the end of the world or something like that, Sahib smirked a bit. He glanced over his shoulder at the others. Then he slipped outside after making sure Cyndaquil's pokeball was safely latched onto the strap of his backpack.
Lark just stood there for a moment in completely shock over the story Prof.Elm had just told him. He had never heard that story before, and at that moment he was glad he hadn't He stood there soaking up the story for a few seconds, then he looked around to see that everyone else had already left. "I've heard of Celebi, but that's the only part of the story I've ever heard about" Lark said to himself. "I know Celebi can travel through time,but...but...I don't know anything anymore." This story troubled Lark greatly. Lark didn't want to believe the story, but deep down some part of him knew it was true. He started to slowly walk out of the lab.
Liliana noticed that not only the cloaked woman that had attacked her was gone, it seemed that the others also defeated the Ditto. That must mean that either the ditto were really young or the strangers were not very good at battling. She doubted the second one so it had to be the first one. She had no more time to think it through, however, since Professor Elm had started moving again, seemingly unphased by all of this. The voices of several people at once were cutting through the air, but it seemed he got the main jest of it for he started talking again.
"Well I guess my fears were correct, you aren't going to be safe on your journey.. as you have just witnessed it seems they will be monitoring your process as trainers.. You may very well be followed every step and hunted at some point.. Why they are doing this I have no idea, but maybe it's time for you to learn about something that happened way before your time.. The event I am talking about can only be referred to as the Dark Days of Kanto."
His fears? Did they talk about this before she arrived, or was this an entirely new thing? And they were gonna stalk them? It would be creepy if they wouldn't be… Well… Not out for their best interests. Now it wasn't only creepy, but it could cost them their lives or worse. Damn.And what was this about the Dark Days of Kanto? This started to sound pretty creepy, if not messed up. Something that Only three people knew about at the moment, and that is not in the history books. Liliana listened with devoted attention.
"It was around 40-50 years ago, a young trainer went mad with power and vanished from the indigo league finals after losing to Zypher. This man's name was Beo and while he was gone he was in search of the ultimate power, to be able to control the shadows and he was successful in capturing Giratina. But the clan of hope would not let this happen with the help of Celebi they traveled back and stopped him. Kanto went back to normal and the very Pokémon world was saved from the darkness.."
Liliana had trouble believing this. It sounded more like an urban legend than truth. The brotherhood? Some guy named Beo. And multiple goint back in time. It didn't make sense. If you went back in time to change things, how could they know you had time changed? This could be a change in time for all they know. No wonder you couldn't find it in the history books. But Elm has started speaking again.
"Now these events most likely are not related but what scares me is that after the events Giratina's and Darkrai's pokeballs were given to Celebi and with the help of Dialga the two hid them in time and space… About a year ago a strange event happened in the Ilex forest home of Celebi… It just stopped in place.. in time.. "So he is insinuating that this man called Beo found the two titan's Poké Ball and now there are people disappearing in the Ilex Forest," Liliana muttered to herself. A habit of hers, voicing thoughts to herself. "And not his accomplice in investigation is missing, and he's using us to finish what he started. Great. Somehow I feel used."
Elm had already excited the room, however, and Liliana simply assumed that she was free to go. Chikorita was still at her side, but she was also still nameless.
"You need a name don't you?" The creature responded with an excited call and Liliana laughed. "Well hmmm… How about Nala? Yeah I think it suits," she smiled as the Chikorita stared at her with beady eyes and then let out one long note. She approved.
Fenris: Great first post! Continue to the post two!
Dutchesse: Good desciprtive post! Way to contemplate everything! Go ahead and move on!
Jahool: Good posts! Make sure from now on to seperate them so I can grade them individually, also i'll let it slide this time, but I give a range of levels for the pokemon you can catch to so I can determine how good of a battle it was and what level you caught.. Otherwise Lark caught a level three female sentret!
After all of the cloaked trainers disappeared, Jakki noticed that Prof. Elm continued to talk as if nothing had happened. "Umm. Professor, eight cloaked trainers appeared and froze you. They're gone now, but..."
Prof. Elm looked stunned, but sighed in realization. He then began to speak again. "Well I guess my fears were correct, you aren't going to be safe on your journey.. as you have just witnessed it seems they will be monitoring your process as trainers.. You may very well be followed every step and hunted at some point.. Why they are doing this I have no idea, but maybe it's time for you to learn about something that happened way before your time.. The event I am talking about can only be referred to as the Dark Days of Kanto."
Jakki was confused, and felt slightly scared. "Wait, we're going to be followed and hunted?" she thought. "Why? It's not like we did anything to them. And what is this about the Dark Days of Kanto?" She tried to think back to a time, if any, that her parents would have mentioned this, but so far nothing came up.
"It was around 40-50 years ago, a young trainer went mad with power and vanished from the indigo league finals after losing to Zypher. This mans name was Beo and while he was gone he was in search of the ultimate power, to be able to control the shadows and he was successful in capturing Giratina. But the clan of hope would not let this happen with the help of Celebi they traveled back and stopped him. Kanto went back to normal and the very pokemon world was saved from the darkness.." He pauses and wipes his forehead.
"Wow," she thought. "This sounds more like something straight out of an anime, not an event in history. That guy must have had issues. But, I must admit, he must have had some skills to catch both Giratina and Darkrai."
"Now these events most likely are not related but what scares me is that after the events Giratina's and Darkrai's pokeballs were given to Celebi and with the help of Dialga the two hid them in time and space… About a year ago a strange event happened in the Ilex forest home of Celebi… It just stopped in place.. in time.. "Wow," muttered Jakki. "He must be going through a really rough time." She sighed. "And really, all of these legendary Pokemon are involved too." she thought. "Time just stopped, and trainers have never come out... It must have something to do with Celebi. It is the Time Travel Pokemon, after all." Then, she got an idea. "What if this has something to do with the legendary birds? It's most likely that it doesn't, but I don't have any leads so far, and I'm sure it's better than nothing."
As she walked out of the door, she remembered what the Professor said. "Oh yeah, it's too dangerous to go in Ilex Forest. Nobody has ever come out, and who knows what could be out there..." She sighed once more, since she knew that he was probably right. "Oh well," she thought. "I can still become a strong Pokemon trainer, like I was planning on doing. If I'm not a strong trainer, I probably won't accomplish anything!" So, she confidently left the lab, and headed out towards Route 29.
As soon as he was outside of the lab, Sahib unhooked Cyndaquil's Pokeball. He unleashed the Pokémon, and looked down at it. I don't go for nicknames, he thought immediately. Cyndaquil looked rather average, so Sahib crouched down and inspected him carefully. He seems to be in good health even after the battle. Alright, we'll just continue on then, he decided. Sahib picked up Cyndaquil and was about to put him back in his Pokeball when Cyndaquil let out a cry and climbed on top of Sahib's shoulder bag and refused to move. Sahib glanced down at Cyndaquil who looked up at him from his position on the backpack.
"Fine," Sahib said. He put Cyndaquil's empty Pokeball back on its place, and then he continued to walk. Cyndaquil looked around, happily enjoy its surroundings. They walked rather far until the sun began to make Sahib sweat lightly. He paused under and tree and sat down against it. Cyndaquil hopped off his backpack and sat down, watching him curiously.
"Cynda?" it asked.
"I'm thirsty," Sahib stated. He grabbed a water bottle from inside his backpack and took a long drink. Cyndaquil cocked his head to the side. Sahib paused in his drinking and slowly took the bottle away from his lips. "Alright," he murmured. He grabbed a tin out of his bag and filled it slightly with water. Cyndaquil took a long drink. Moments later, it sneezed and water came flying off the end of its nose. Sahib grinned slightly and laughed shortly. "Can we get going? We're probably about in the middle of Route…29, and I'd like to get to Cherrygrove," Sahib muttered to Cyndaquil. Cyndaquil nodded happily and looked around.
Sahib picked up the small tin and stowed it away for later. He put the water bottle in one of the side pockets of the backpack and then slung it over his shoulder. He knelt slightly so it was hanging closer to the ground. Cyndaquil hopped up. Sahib glanced around to make sure he hadn't forgotten anything, and when he noted that he hadn't, he continued walking towards the end of the route.
Soon enough, there was a rustle in the bushes. Sahib whipped around, causing Cyndaquil to slip off his backpack and land face first on the ground. Sahib blinked and looked down. He quickly apologized to the small Pokémon and then looked back to the bushes. By now, Cyndaquil was up and looking that way as well. Moments later, a small Pokémon Sahib recognized as Sentret appeared at the edge of the leaves. Perfect! He thought, glancing at Cyndaquil. Hopefully we can capture this guy, Sahib thought. Or girl, he added as an afterthought.
"Cyndaquil, get it with a leer first!" Sahib called. Cyndaquil nodded sharply, going into "battle mode". It leered at the Sentret, who started back. The Sentret squeaked. "Now go for a tackle!" Sahib said. Cyndaquil charged and slammed into Sentret, getting a direct hit. Sentret rolled back into the bushes. "Follow it up with another tackle!" Sahib called, craning his neck to see the battle.
Cyndaquil came crashing out of the bushes, flying back and skidding on the ground. Sahib's eyes widened and he looked over at the Sentret in surprise. It was giving off a rather angry vibe to Cyndaquil. It charged again, full speed towards Cyndaquil. Sahib glanced over and saw that Cyndaquil was slowly getting up.
"Dodge it Cyndaquil!" Sahib called urgently. Cyndaquil flew out of the way, scraping against the ground because it was so narrow. Sahib let out a breath. "Cyndaquil, smokescreen!" he called, hoping that it would protect his injured Pokémon. He clenched his teeth, I probably should've made sure he was up to full strength…but…Sahib shook his head, dismissing the thought and focusing on the battle in front of him.
"C…Cyndaquil," Cyndaquil mumbled. It produced a smokescreen that was thick and black. Sahib let out a breath. Then he ordered a tackle on the Sentret. There was a cry, and then suddenly both Pokémon were flying out of the smoke. What? How did it find Cyndaquil so easily…Sahib wondered, looking to his right, where Cyndaquil had crashed out toward. Sentret was lying against the bushes, looking rather tired but not down and out just yet.
"Cyndaquil, can you try for another tackle?" Sahib called over. If not, I guess I'll have to use the Pokeball now…but there's a lot less of a chance I'd catch the Sentret, he calculated as he waited. Cyndaquil nodded slowly and got up. It looked over at Sentret. Sentret charged towards Cyndaquil. "Wait!" Sahib called to Cyndaquil. Cyndaquil froze in place as Sentret neared. "Now! Dodge!" Sahib shouted. Cyndaquil moved out of the way at the very last second, effectively leading to Sentret smashing headfirst into the tree that had stopped Cyndaquil. Sahib quickly whipped out an empty Pokeball and threw it at the Sentret. It wiggled as he waited.
