Yashi: It was still a good post thanks for getting it up! Snoopy grew to lvl 26!

Cairne knelt down and took a good look at the Slowpoke. Its Shellder had released its tail and it laid looking weak and helpless. He left some mushrooms in front of him and proceeded to walk closer to the end of the cave, he was going to get to the bottom of this. Another high pitched wail screamed through the cave and Cairne placed his hands over his ears to prevent himself from going completely deaf. He saw lights off in the distance and began a steady jog. There at the end of the cave stood eight men, seven were in black uniforms and one wore a white labcoat, they all had a red R on their clothing.

"Well well boys, look who has decided to grace us with their presence! If it isn't Elms new little pets? This looks like a perfect time to test Project Rage2.0 does it not?" The man in the labcoat said taking notice to Cairne who looked around and noticed all the other dex holder were there too.

One of the grunts stepped forward and alongside him was his odd looking Pokemon, Cairne pulled out his Pokedex.

Hypno
Cairne pulled a Pokemon ball out of his pocket and tossed it up in the air. "Come on Honey lets show him who's boss with a swift!" Honey buzzed around and shot silvery stars in Hypno direction slamming into his forarms as he raised them in defence. The grunt grinned and let out an annoying chuckle.

"Come on Dro...Hypno let's use a psybeam attack!" The Hypno began swinging its metronome back and forth and out of it shot a purple beam that struck Honey and slammed her into a nearby wall. "Kehehe, Zen Headbutt!" The grunt yelled to his Pokemon who took the command and slammed its forhead into Honey damaging her even further.

"Come on Honey get up! You can do it! Fight back!" Cairne yelled to his downed Pokemon. Honeys wings fluttered and it fly upwards into the sky again. "Awesome! Now use a gust!" Honey ignored the command and all of a sudden her whole body began glowing."Honey?" Cairne said to his Pokemon who had began changing shape. Her body took a much larger and more defined shape, she was evolving! When ehr body stopped glowing and turned back to normal Cairne pulled out his Pokedex.
"image removed"
Vespiquen
"Awesome you evolved! And you learned a new attack too! Let's use it! Attack Order go!" Cairn yelled and his newly evolved Pokemon launched an army or small yellow orbs at Hypno who was slammed into the wall and then down to the ground. "Great job Vespiquen! Now lets try a Swift!" Out of Vespiquens forhead shot hundreds of silver stars that each struck Hypno.

"Hypno stand up and use Hypnosis!" The grunt yelled in frustration. His Pokemon stood to its feet and began waging its metronome back and forth sending yellow rings in Vespiquens direction. Vespiquen fell the the ground asleep. "Now let's use Nightmare!" Hypno loomed over Vespiquen and began sucking purple aura from her body.

"Vespiquen return!" Cairne yelled out and his Pokemon was engulfed in a red light. "Baron lets go! Use your Ember attack!" Baron shot flames directly at Hypno who was slammed into the ground.

" Let's jusst do it the easy way Hypno! Use Hypnosis!" The man yelled and his Hypno began swinging its pendulum back and forth.

"Magnitude and then Take Down!" Cairne commanded and his Pokemon Slammed its foot down on the ground sending a peice of shattered earth in Hypnos direction. The earth slammed into Hypno stopping the Hypnosis attack. Then as Hypno lost balance and began leaning back Baron let loose a full body tackle knocking him out. Much like the battle with the Slowbro the Pokemon shifted back into its origional form although this time it remained with odd coloration.

"Drowzee return! You'll pay for this kid! I swear it!" The grunt yelled as he ran back out of the well. Cairne looked around at all the other dex holders who had also defeated their opponants.

Damion was completely in shock, the boy looked out into the horizon. On the other side of town, a row of five trainers walked into the west. A body over one of their shoulder, the body was Bugsy, the five trainers walked into the Illex Forest. Their bodies beginning to fade away as they entered, Damion barged down the hill and ran towards the trainers. The boy's eyes widened and he stopped running,

"When you get to the Ilex forest wait for my call, it is to dangerous to enter the forest now"

Prof. Elm's voice ran in Damion's head, the boy growled and clenched his teeth. The boy turned around and walked into the Pokemon Center, when he entered the cool breeze hit him as the people inside looked at him. Damion still had tattered clothing and injuries, so it wasn't a surprise when everyone stared at him.

"Umm. Good evening, how may I help you?" A pretty woman bowed in front of Damion, she had vibrant pink hair in two elaborate curls with cerulean eyes and a warm smile. Damion smirked,

"A room pleae, I need to get cleaned up." The nurse smiled and handed Damion a room key in exchange for some money. The boy entered his room and began undressing, he entered the bathroom and turned on the shower. As the water hit his face, the entire day played out in his head. From the kidnapping incident to Hoot's sacrifice for Sprink.

Damion quickly toweled himself off and was surprised to notcie a brand new set of clothes, and earphones waiting for him on a chair in his room. The boy smirked as he put on the clothes, and slapped on the earphones. He was relieved to hear music again and walked into the main lobby, he felt totally refreshed and picked up his pokeballs from the nurse.

As he walked out of the Pokemon center, some of the bystanders smiled and some waved. Damion chuckled, he looked over at Illex Forest to see a line of Police Cars entering town. The boy sighed as they set up a barracade about fifity yards away from the forest entrance, they wanted to be safe he presumed.

NO ENTRANCE

Damion sighed at the words written on the yellow tape, he clenched his hands into fists.

"GIVE THAT BACK TO ME!!"

"You know what you old hag, these are mine now!"

"Yea! These apricots are ours!!"

"Wait, lookie here...there's a pokeball in here too!"

"Haha, you're right Butch. It's a Slowking! Ooooo!"

"Wait, Please give that back!!! I've had that pokemon since I was a child!"

"Too bad!"

Damion looked up to see a building on a near-by cliff, the house was surrounded by many trees. The trees were holding beautifully colored fruit of some sort, and in a large concrete structure near the home was a fallen woman. She was rather frail, around mid-fourties, with graying hair in two large hoop curls held together by read beads. She had deep blue eyes and wore a kimono of some sort, the woman was being harrassed by three boys Damion's age. They each wore their own outfits, but all shared the same red scarf.

Damion felt something in the back of his head, then a sharp pain in his heart. He felt the need to save her, no...the need to hurt. To hurt them,

"Why is this world filled with so much HATE!" Damion growled as he barged up the hill and inside the lodge.

"HEY!" His menacing yell sent shivers down everyone's spines. The leader seemed to hand his underling the basket,

"Hey what?"

"Give that, back to her!!" Damion yelled, looking at the floor the entire time.

"This isn't even hers!" The boy lied, Damion clenched his teeth and peeked at the woman.

"Are you Maisy, famous Pokeball Maker of Azalea?" THe old woman nodded, Damion smirked.

"You know what?" He started to chuckle, the boy's were curious as to what he was laughing about.

"Ever since I was little, I HATED liars!!" Damion looked up, his crimson eyes staring deep into their soulds.

"GyaH! He's scary, you go first!!" One of the underling's pushed the other into the fray, the boy gulped and clutched his pokeball. Damion smirked, he felt very...powerful.

"Ready...Go." With those words Damion spat out, the battle begun.

VOLTORB:
LEVEL 20
Type 1/ELECTRIC
Type 2/NONE
ATTACKS:
SCREECH
SONIC BOOM
DOUBLE TEAM

"Voltorb, Screech!!"

"Hoot, Confusion!!"

Voltorb scrunched up it's eyes in concentration, then let out a long cry that shook the windows and sounded much like nails on a chalkboard. Maisy and the boys plugged their ears, as did Damion, and Hoot desperately created a wave of energy that shot through the attack and eased the noise.

"Hoot, Confusion!"

"Voltorb, Sonicboom!"

The bird pokemon flew low, invisibly fast over the steely ground. Voltorb rolled to the side and avoided the wave of psychic energy with ease, his insane speed coming in handy. It then used the second that Hoot flew up to spin rapidly and launch itself in the air, missing Hoot entirely, but the sound wave it left behind hit Hoot and blew him up to the ceiling.

"Ahh! Hoot!" Damion shouted up to his pokemon, who shook itself hardily and tried to look around for the Voltorb.

"Now Voltorb, while it's regaining itself use Double Team!!"

"Hoot, use Confusion to slam them all against the wall!"

The Voltorb had created copies of itself that gathered around in a circle on the ground and were looking up at him. He concentrated, his eyepiece glowing brilliantly purple as the group of Voltorb all began to float and slam against the wall violently, dissapearing all of the clones and leaving the real one injured.

"I like Confusion because it can serve for a multitude of purposes." Damion chuckled.

Voltorb was blown back, and it righted itself, then charged in for another Sonicboom.

"Hoot, Reflect!!"

The Voltorb closed in, moving incredibly fast, but then again, so did Hoot. He stayed until the last second, then used his attack to rebound the Voltorb, and Voltorb hurtled toward the concrete wall, and landed smack in it. It slid down, and a small crater was left where it had hit.

"Argh, Voltorb, get up and finish it off! Shock Wave, now!!"

Damion swore loudly. Voltorb charged up, glowing a light yellow. It let out the discharged energy straight at Hoot.

"Evade it Hoot!! Fly away!!" Damion shouted up at the owl pokemon, and Hoot did his best to stay ahead of the wave.

It twisted and writhed in the air and moved incredibly fast. Hoot could feel the static sizzling his tail feathers, and then his tucked back claws. He dived quickly, and headed for the ground to lose it there, but too late.

The bolt of electricity hit him square on, and jolted him out of the sky. He struggled to keep aloft, and managed to catch a small breeze that filtered in through the windows. His breath came in labored…..That wave was….incredibly fast and accurate. It was one that could NOT be evaded.

"Hoot….hold in there!!"

"Voltorb, you too. Let's barbeque this thing one more time. Shock Wave!!"

"Crap! Hoot, close in and use take it out with Confusion!"

The wave was being procured by the pokemon already, it was glowing a bright yellow. Hoot moved in, and released a powerful surge of Psychic energy just as Voltorb let the wave loose. The psychic wave shut down the wave completely due to Hoot's superior level, the ball pokemon was blown back into the wall and fainted with the solid impact.

"Hmph. Next." Damion said coldly, the second underling shook violently as he stared down Damion.

"GO!" The boy shouted just as Damion threw his own pokeball.

ARBOK:
LEVEL 22
Type 1/POISON
Type 2/NONE
ATTACKS:
SLUDGE BOMB
SCREECH
WRAP
CRUNCH

"Joy. Alright, Sprink! Thunderwave!" The electric pokemon immediately balanced on one hand, seemingly taunting the male Arbok with her tai. Then quickly released a weak stream of electricity which coiled raond the Arbok's body, paralyzing it.

"Arbok! Pay attention!! CRUNCH!"

"Cotton Spore."

The Arbok stiffly moved towards the Flaafy, who in return chuckled as she released a cloud of spores which slowed the snake down even more. Sprink swiftly navigated through the cloud of spores,

"Thunershock!" Sprink quickly released multiple surges of electricity which struck the Arbok, sending it thrashing about inside the cloud of spores like a rag doll.

"SLUDGE BOMB!!!" The boy yelled out, the purple snake quickly was released by the electrical binds. But only for a moment.

Arbok released a massive pile of purple goo that struck Sprink head on, the Flaaffy was launched backwards. A purple tint covering her body, her movements slowing down.

"Now, Screech!!"

"Drown it out with Growl!"

Arbok's multitude of sound waves were quickly diminished by Sprink's high-pitched whine, causing the Arbok to coil up.

"Hah. Thundershock!" Damion yelled, Sprink produced an electrical wave which struck the coiled up body of Arbok, sending it flying back.

"Arbok, come on! Wrap!" The purple snake un-coiled and flung its body at Sprink, coiling quickly. Sprink shreaked in pain,

"Cotton Spore, then Thundershock!!!" Damion ordered, the Flaaffy's fur expanded and exploded to create a blanket of white spores. The two pokemon were hidden, all Damion could do was hope his plan worked. An electrical wave was released, and Arbok was flung backwards. Swirlds in its eyes.

"Hahaha! Is that all you got!" Damion's bloody eyes stared the final boy down, the boy chuckled.

"Calm down there guy, haha. All this for a crappy basket i stole from some old hag?" Damion growled and clutched his pokeball, his opponent was arrogant and rude.

ALAKAZAM:
LEVEL 25
Type 1/PSYCHIC
Type 2/NONE
ATTACKS:
PSYCHIC
ICE PUNCH
LIGHT SCREEN
THUNDERWAVE

"ALAKAZAM!!"

"Taro!"

Both pokemo were released in a cloud of smoke.

"Ala…." The Alakazam said lifelessly, and the final boy looked at Damion. Suddenly, Alakazam shot a Psychic at Taro. Out of the blue…

"Dodge it Taro!!!" Damion yelled, completely caught off guard. Taro cried out, hit with the beam and thrown against the high wall.

Damion grit his teeth and swore. "What the hell…"

"Taro, Rock Slide!!"

"Alakazam, Light Screen."

Taro stood on the tip of toes, and twirled his hands as a boulder was summoned from the floor underneath them. Alakazam waited until the last second and created a blanket of golden light before him. When the boulder passed through it, its size diminished severely, but it hit the Psy pokemon all the same. Alakazam flinched visibly, and Damion saw an opportunity.

"Now Taro! Rock Slide!!!"

Taro grinned mischeavously, he collected all of the rubble and mixed it with the boulder he summoned as he launched it. There was no blind spots, no way to escape. Alakazam was hit with the large boulder.

"Alakazam, Thunder Wave." The boy said calmly.

"Dratini, protect yourself with a boulder!!"

Taro's boulder was slow in coming, and the Thunder Wave barely squeezed past. Taro fell to the ground, panting. His body tingled with electricity, and Damion swore.

"Alakazam, Psychic!"

"Dodge it Taro and use Bite!!"

Taro struggled to move his body, and watched on in horror as the blue beam advanced on him. He flopped helplessly as the beam collided…

When the dust cleared, a soft, purple shell in the shape of Taro stood there, it's face broken in where it had escaped through. It was Hoot's Psychic that had saved him. The real Taro had slid behind Alakazam, and had its teeth out.

CRUNCH. Taro's teeth came down onto Alakazam's head with skull crushing force. Alakazam stopped Taro's teeth telekinetically inches from his own face, eyes wide.

"That's cheating, using your other pokemon to help out!"

"Come on, you guys are thieves, there IS no cheating with you."

"Mmm. Alakazam, finish him off with an Ice Punch."

The boy looked on as Alakazam flung Taro's body to one side and fired up his hand with white and light blue energy. He brought it around in a right hook that collided with Taro's face and sent him spinning, crashing on the ground with a thud.

"TARO!!!!" Damion looked out at the field, anxious. Damion froze, and the boy looked mildly caught up in it all.

Alakazam were known for their phenomenal special attack, and combined with Taro's weakness…..

"Haha. This battle is over, If he had lived it would be a….."

"M-Miracle?" Damion smirked as Taro stood up from the rubble he had created.

His body was covered with patches of ice where the cold had froze him solid. Deep scratches ran along his body, beads of blood pressing through the surface. Exhaustion was etched into the lines of his face, dark red eyes only half open with the pain.

And then…..his eyes began to glow, several rings surrounding his body. The rings transformed into several sharp boulders.

The boy swore, and ordered Alakazam to administer a powered Ice Punch. A smile grew on Damion's face as he shouted for Taro to use his final Stone Edge attack.

Maisy cheered, "Go get them LADDY!"

Time slowed, and the two pokemonrushed towards each other. At the last second, Taro shot into the air, whirled backward like a wheel, and watched as the several boulder flew under Alakazam and bashed him so hard he went flying past Sabrina, and slammed into the wall behind his trainer, making a small crater behind him.

His golden body slumped, and he fell, face first, onto the ground. Damion returned Taro slowly.

Damion stood there, motionless for a few seconds. His blood red eyes bored into the boy's stoic amber ones. The boy growled as he quickly clasped Alakazam's pokemon, the psy pokemon was recalled. As the pokeball began glowing purple, the boy clipped it on his waist.

"Hahaha! Thanks to Alakazam, I can now control Psychic powers for a breif moment." Damion scowled at the boy.

"Now I can take care of you. You *******." THe boy shot at Damion.

They were standing inches apart, not moving, just glaring at each other. Suddenly the boy thrusted his hand at Damion's stomach, and a huge beam of silvery energy shot towards it.

Dust cleared after the explosion, and the boy sighed.

"That takes care of that."

"Takes care of what?" Damion asked slowly, standing behind the boy and smirking. He reached out a hand and a hand of blue energy came off of it and wrapped itself around Damion's mouth, lifting him up into the air…twenty….thirty….forty feet. The ground loomed dangerously below.

"You're not the only one with a Psychic pokemon." Damion held up Hoot's pokeball, which was glowing a faint blue.

"I never did like you." Damion said in a monotone, throwing his hand toward the wall. The giant blue hand smashed the boy's limp body into the golden foundation, and the cement cracked down the middle with the impact.

"For one….you never polite." Damion jerked his hand the other way, and the boy collided with the opposite wall. Blood smeared.

"Two, you act like you know everything…" The boy collided with the ground this time.

"And three, you're a Child." Damion smirked. "People like that should just die."

This time he jerked his hand toward the ceiling with the intent to kill.

"STOP IT!!!!"

He felt someone come up behind him and grab him around the waist.

Damion froze mid action, eyes wide. The boy had his eyes closed, braced for the impact and death.

But it never came.

"Stop it……please….." Maisy's sobbing voice came from behind Damion, and the boy hesitated. His powers soon faded away, the boy gently falling to the ground. His lackees scooped him up and ran away, the woman was sobbing. Damion stuttered,

"Uh-I-I" The boy stopped talking and walked over to the basket, he grabbed it and handed it to the woman.

"Sorry." Damion said before barging out of the building and down the cliff, he put his earphones on and walked into the pokemon center. He had traces of blood on his shirt, he sat down on the couch and sighed.

"What is going on with me?"

Kenneth moaned in his sleep, partially turning to the side. He was stationed in a room at the Pokemon Center and as his bedside where his pokemon. Miles paced back and forth around the bed, wanting to jump up on it but knew that he couldn't. Lily sat in a chair just staring at the bed and Lia was at the only window in the room. She gazed at the sun all day for she didn't want to look at the bed and when night came the petals around her face would close and she would sleep.

The boy groaned and opened his eyes, but quickly shut them a second later. He covered his face and rubbed his eyes slowing sitting up. After a few minutes he finally opened his eyes all the way and his pokemon were right at his bed side. He mind was empty; he had no idea of what happened for what he was doing. He sat there and glanced from his pokemon to the wall, blinking. Then his eyes widen as he suddenly remembered what happened.

"Bugsy!" He mumbled throwing the covers away and jumping out of bed. He paused, paralyzed from the hot scorching pain emitting from his side. He sat back on the bed and grabbed his side wincing in pain as he did so. He tried to move and Prof. Elm's voice ranged in his head. 'When you get to the Ilex forest wait for my call, it is too dangerous to enter the forest now.'Miles barked and Lily went to the door. It opened before she got there and Nurse Joy stepped in. She rushed over to the boy.

"You're up?! But you shouldn't be moving right now!" Kenneth gave a small chuckle as she pushed him back into the bed. He sat back up, shaking his head. "I'm fine, it just hurts a little that's all. But, what happened?" Nurse Joy gave a sigh and sat in a chair beside his bed.

"You were brought in by one on the townspeople. They said you went after the people who kidnapped Bugsy but you fainted. They brought you here because they were worried. You had a pretty bad injury so we fixed you up and put you in a spare room to recover." She was calm and spoke slowly so that the boy could understand it all. A hundred thoughts were running through his head as she spoke and when she was done and looked up at her.

"How long have I been out?"

"Three days." He hung his head and stared at his hands. He took a deep breath and slid his feet over the edge of the bed and got out, only slower this time. Nurse Joy stood, ready to put him back in bed but he kept his arm out to tell her to let him be. He winced in pain as he stood and started to walk around the room. Each step sent a sharp hot feeling through his body but it also lessened with each step. He stopped at a mirror and looked at himself. His hair was a bit messier than it was before and you could obviously tell that he had just woken up.

"Well, if you need me I'll be in the lobby. But you should really take it easy and rest for the day." Kenneth nodded and said thanks as she left the room. He looked over at his pokemon and frowned at their looks of worry.

"I'm going to freshen up and then I think I'll call my parents. I haven't talked to them in a while." He said with a half smile as he walked to the bathroom. After a while he came back out, looking almost like his normal self. His clothes were still tattered and in need of replacing, especially his shirt which now had a hole about the size of a baseball in it and dried blood at the bottom. His shorts were still pretty decent though it had permanent dirt stains and his shoes were no longer white. He sighed. 'I'll just buy some new clothes once I get to Goldenrod.' He strolled over to the dresser, taking his time and grabbed his Pokegear and sat on the bed. He pressed a button on it a few times and proceeded to call his parents.

It ranged a few times before the screen flashed. He smiled as he saw a man in his mid 40s being tackled by an Eevee and Chikorita. They seemed to being trying to tickle him and they were succeeding. The man tried to say something to Kenneth but he fell to the ground laughing as the two pokemon kept up the attack. The boy snickered as the man's cries for help could be heard well. He heard his mother call in the distance and the two pokemon darted off. The man got back up, returning to the screen while fixing his dark brown hair. There were a few gray hairs among the brown but he did his best to hide them under all the brown. He looked as the screen and laughed.

"Well hello there stranger!" Kenneth smiled.

"Hey dad!" This was the first time Kenneth had talked to his dad in a while. He had so much to tell him, but he knew that he only had a little time. The man on the screen shot a grin at the boy.

"How's it going? You aren't doing anything hasty are you?" The boy took a quick glanced at the floor and laughed nervously.

"Nope, I'm doing well. I just got my second gym badge the other day!" He held up a small boy. Inside the box rested two shiny gym badges, one resembling wings and the other the back of a ladybug. "Both Falkner and Bugsy were tough, but I managed to pull through at the end and win!"

"That's good…" His dad mumbled. There was a flash of sadness in his eyes and Kenneth guessed that he wasn't yet over the death of the Gym Leader. The look was gone as soon as it came and the man looked up.

"You know, your mom was worried when you hung up on her a few weeks ago. It took me all day to calm her down and tell her that you probably got caught in a battle." They both laughed, knowing just how his mom could get if she thought something had gone wrong. He could picture her running around the house causing a mess. Knowing her, he suspected that she probably tried fly over to Violet using her Pidgeot.

"By the way. Have you visited Kurt yet?"

"Kurt?" His dad sighed.

"Yeah, he used make pokeballs out of Apricorns. He still does, but most of the business is left to his granddaughter." The man on the screen scratched his chin. "I'm sure one of them would make a custom pokemon ball if you gave them an apricorn." He held up a small fruit about the size of a pokeball in his hand. It was black in color. "You can find a lot around Azalea, and Kurt and his granddaughter live near the Pokemon Center, so they should be easy to find."

There was an explosion and a scream followed. Kenneth's dad glanced to the side with a stern look on his face. His expression changed back as he looked at the screen again and waved at his son. "Well, I'll talk to you when you finally get here. Morty said he's really anxious to fight you!" And with that the screen went black before Kenneth could ask his father what the trouble was. He sighed and strapped his Pokegear to his wrist. He was sure that if he called back he wouldn't get an answer.

"Well, guys. I think we're going to go pick Apricorns." He sighed and recalled them. Lily stayed out however and followed behind Kenneth as he left the room. He took his time getting to the lobby, but once there he acted like nothing was wrong. He gave Nurse Joy a wave and quickly left the Center before she could say anything.

Outside he took a deep breath, enjoying the fresh air. He looked around sort of happy to see that the town was back to normal even though Bugsy was gone. He took a glance at the forest to see Police standing by the entrance guarding it. 'They probably aren't going to let me pass, at least not without permission. So I have no choice but to wait for the Prof.'s call.' He walked around aimlessly. The pain was fading away but it still hurt for him to move much. He knew that he would have to get over it soon; he was still on a journey. 'Guess I'd better look for those Apricorns, I remember seeing some on the way into town.'

He headed towards the entrance to the town and sure enough he found a lot of trees rich in apricorns. There were many different colors and some trees were low enough to the ground that he could just reach up and pick some. 'Well, I think one would be enough.' He thought as he picked one. If fit in his hand just like a pokeball and it was green in color. He tossed it up a few times smiling to himself. 'Just one should be enough. I'm sure it'll take time for them to make it.'

He turned to Lily and thought about something. 'Maybe I should get custom pokeballs for all of them. It would certainly make it easier for me to tell which pokeball belonged to whom.' He pondered on the thought for a second later and decided against it. 'I'll just wait until I have my complete team, then I can get them a pokeball suited to their likings at one time. But for this one…' He tossed the apricorn into the air again. 'I see no harm in getting it turned into one. It might be useful later.'

He turned and strolled down the hill, heading back into town. He began his search for this 'Kurt' man's house and started near the Pokemon Center. It didn't take him long to find a small house surrounded by apricorn trees. He gawked at the sight, caught in the beauty of the house and that fact that it was surrounded by trees with apricorns. He could have just walked over and got one, but instead he had walked out of town just to get one. He looked over at Lily. She was shaking her head.

"Well, let's go get a pokeball made!" He yelled, pumping his fist into the air. He immediately brought it down as it caused him pain and headed inside the house. Inside a woman in her 40s was sitting at a desk on the far side of the room. There was a much older man standing by her side with a cane. He was watching intently as she worked on something.

"Excuse me, Kurt?" The woman stopped and the old man turned to face Kenneth. His face was lined with wrinkles but he still kept a tough image. He smiled and tapped his cane on the floor.

"What do you want kid? We're working right now." He wasn't exactly rude, though he remember that his father said that Kurt was sort of a stern man. The boy held up a green apricorn.

"I was wondering if you could make me a pokeball before I leave." He was nervous and it reflected in the tone of his voice. The woman, who had finally turned around gave him a smile. She stood up and walked over to him taking the green fruit from his hand. She inspected it and then took it with her to the desk while saying.

"Of course! It'll only take a few hours, but if you want you can watch." She paused. "If you have nothing to do that is." The old man gave her a look, but didn't say anything and turned to watch her as she began to work. Kenneth stared at her back for a while. He didn't expect her to just take and it and work immediately. He pushed the matter to the back of his head (that area was getting pretty junky with expelled thoughts) and walked cautiously over to the desk and peeked over her shoulder, watching her work.

After a few hours she finished, Kenneth was now sitting in a chair beside her. He was staring at the pokeball in her hand intently. He found the process of making a pokeball from an apricorn interesting, but didn't think to further indulge himself in it. He was going to become a Gym Leader and a Breeder was well, so he wouldn't have the time to make pokeballs.

"Here you go, it's a Friend Ball. A pokemon caught with this ball will become a lot friendlier towards the trainer and their pokemon. It's really useful with pokemon who are untrusting and wary of trainers or pokemon that are just plain mean." She handed the ball over to Kenneth. It looked like a normal pokeball but the top of it was green instead of red and there were 4 small red dots in two rows under a yellow dot. He grinned and looked at the woman.

"Thank you a lot! I'll put it to good use." He turned and headed for the door, but was stopped when the old man called out.

"Don't just throw that ball at a pokemon and think it'll work. Pokeballs made from Apricorns only work when they hit the area where a pokemon's life energy is most concentrated. But different pokemon have different areas, so be careful when using it." Kenneth turned to the old man. He had a smirk on his face.

"Sure thing! The next time you see me, I'll have caught a pokemon using this ball!" With that he left the house and Maisy went back to work on the other pokeballs that she was making.

Kerjo: Good post! I like how you included your dad and also Maisey like Charizard_man did! Kenneth received a Friend Ball!

Kenneth strolled through the town on his way back to the pokemon center. He tossed the Friend ball into the air as he did, smiling at it. 'Turns a mean or untrusting pokemon into a friendly one, eh? I wonder how it does that.' He took a regular pokemon off of his belt and replaced it with the Friend ball. He put the empty regular pokemon into his backpack. The Center was just ahead.

'Let's play a love, play love game, do you want love or you want fame, are you in the game.'

Kenneth blinked as the song played. He didn't remember setting it as a ringtone on his Pokegear, he didn't even remember having such a song on his Pokegear. None-the-less he answered thinking that it was his dad, but as the screen flashed he came face to face with the semi-worried face of Prof. Elm. The lab was dark so he couldn't see much, heck he could barely see Prof. Elm's face.

"Prof.?"

"Ah, it's good to hear from you Kenneth…" There was something wrong with his voice. Kenneth glanced at the screen suspiciously knowing immediately that something was wrong, but he decided not to ask. Instead, he moved his Pokegear around trying to get a clearer look into the Prof.'s lab.

"You too Prof. Is something the matter?" The man didn't respond he continued on ignoring the question.

"I was just calling you to tell you that it's about time for you and the others to enter the Ilex forest. I've analyzed the situation there and it seems to be alright to enter the forest for now. Sorry, but I'm going to have to cut this call short, I have to call the others and update them as well." Through the screen Kenneth could see the Prof.'s mouth move and reading his lips it looked like he said sorry. Kenneth shook his head and dismissed the thought as the screen went blank. He turned around and faced the forest entrance not far away and glanced at Lily.

"Well, it seems like the time has finally come. I don't know what's happening in the forest, but it's not good so we'll just have to keep an eye out when we go in." He looked at Lily and then recalled her while he called out Miles.

"Sorry Lily, but Miles is the best one suited for this job." He looked at the Luxio. Miles walked over to him and held a paw against his leg. A blue spark shot from his paw to Kenneth's leg and the boy jumped. From the feeling of the shock he could tell that Miles was ready. 'I forgot that Luxios' communicated that way…'

"Alright, let's go!"

Standing at the entrance, Kenneth took a deep breath. Miles looked at him and gave the boy another shock in which he yelled out. He rubbed his leg and rubbed Miles head before starting to walk in. The back of his neck started to burn and while he reached to rub it his head was rocked with pain. He doubled over mumbling in pain as held head his head. His vision flashed and a new scene took place.

There was a shrine in the forest wit double doors. There was a little light shining on it and the trees around it seem to curl over it, making a dome shape of some kind. Vines climbed the side of the shrine, sprouting small leaves. On the ground before the shrine, Bugsy lay on the ground. He looked alright, he was just unconscious. Kenneth's vision flashed again and was still standing in front of the entrance into the forest. He looked over at Miles and then at the entrance. 'Bugsy!' He thought as he went in.

Inside, Kenneth felt a shiver go down his spine. Something about the forest just wasn't right, but he didn't need to have that shiver tell him, he could see that something was wrong. When looking at the forest from Azalea it looked normal. There were trees full of life and plenty of sun, but now once inside he could see that it was a lie. The inside was full…of darkness. The plants and grass in the forest were discolored and dried to a crisp. Every step Kenneth and Miles made there was a crunch. The leaves of the trees were also dried up, barely hanging on and some of the tress were completely bare. The bark was black and hard and cold to touch. Kenneth tried to take a deep breath but the air was unusually thick and he ended up coughing. 'I think it would be best to get to the other side a quick as possible.'

"Okay, Miles. Keep your ears and eyes open and warn me if you hear or see anything suspicious." They picked up their pace, not wanting to stay inside the forest for too long. However, Kenneth kept thinking of the vision he saw before they came in and wondered if Bugsy was really still in the forest.

They had made it pretty far into the forest, but there wasn't any sight of pokemon…or at least normal pokemon. Murkrow stood on the branches of trees and Koffing floated about letting off their horrible gasses. Every now and then Kenneth would catch the sight of a Growlithe hiding behind the trees, just watching them…stalking them. They even saw a Exeggcute hanging out in the deserted Spearow's nest. And Misdreavus and Gastly would appear and disappear out of nowhere. Miles gave Kenneth a shock when he noticed a Gasly directly in their path.

"Ouch!" The boy groaned and rubbed his leg, it was going to take him quite a while to get used to being shocked like that. He looked up at the Gastly and took another step forward, not expecting it to do anything. However, to his greatest surprise, the Gastly floated back and gave a cry. Kenneth blinked and took another step forward. The Gastly took a step back and gave another cry.

"A scary Gastly?" He rubbed his chin. "Now that's weird, even for this place. But you're in the way so…" Miles jumped in front of him, blue bolts crackling around him.

"We're gonna to have to battle! Miles, spark!" The Luxio barked as the bolts became bigger and he lunged at the Gastly. The ghost gave a cry and quickly dodged to the side zooming in and out of trees. It hid behind one and watched the two carefully.

Gastly

The Gas Pokemon

Almost invisible, this gaseous Pokémon cloaks the target and puts it to sleep without notice.

Kenneth glanced at the pokemon and cocked his head to the side. Something about the pokemon confused him. The Pokedex stated that Gastly were around 4 feet tall, but this one was only about half that size, measuring 2' 06" at best. Not only that but the picture of Gastly in the Pokedex had its body surrounded by a purple gas, but the gas of the one hiding from him was blue in color.

"You're quite the odd ghost aren't you? But this is a battle, so you've got to fight! Miles bite!" Miles barked and chased after the Gastly once again. Its eyes grew wide and Kenneth could have sworn that it made tears as it ran away from Miles. The boy covered his mouth to hide his laugh at the scene before him. It was quite funny to see a ghost run away. Miles darted between trees slowly catching up to the Gastly and just as soon as he was about to attack it would speed off again. 'It's fast too!' He kept watching it and finally got an idea.

"Miles, come back towards me and use bite to your left after you pass two trees." The Luxio stopped and ran towards Kenneth. The boy knew that if he was reading the ghost's movement's right then by the time Miles used the attack the Gastly should be passing right by that spot. The Gastly, not knowing that Miles wasn't chasing it anymore was still on the run and it was shocked when Miles teeth bit into it. It fell to the side, shocked and then tried to move but flinched.

"Spark!" The ghost cried out and turned, almost pleading with Miles as he tackled it, delivering quite a shock to it. It hovered in the air, moving from side to side. Kenneth blinked and watched as Miles head followed the Gastly and began to close his eyes. 'Wait a second, it's using hypnosis!'

"Miles, you've gotta look away!" It was too late as the Luxio curled up into a ball, fast asleep. The Gastly then fired a black beam from its eyes. Miles cried out in his sleep, but didn't wake up. The Gastly took the chance to use another attack. It lashed out its tongue, which extended to a great length, and licked Miles from its position across the small clearing. The Luxio shivered in his sleep and brought his paws over his face. Another black beam crashed into his body and he jumped up, frantically looking around.

"You okay, there Miles." He barked. "Good, then let's finished this with one more bite!" Miles nodded and ran at the Gastly again. It screamed and tried to make a run for it but this time it was too slow and Miles clamped down on it, delivering the final blow. Kenneth smiled and took out a pokeball, deciding to keep the ghost, but not use the Friend ball.

He tossed it up into the air and kicked it as it came down. It shot off, spinning as it went and collided with the black ball that was Gastly's body. The ball bounced on the ground and began to wobble back and forth…

The phone rang just after Liliana had gotten out of the shower. Thank god she hadn't decided to stay under the warm beams for a couple more minutes or she might have missed it. She hurried to her pouch and retrieved the thing, hoping it to be Professor Elm. She wasn't disappointed.

"Hello? Liliana here," she answered. She heard a sigh of relief on the other end of the line. But when the professor spoke his voice sounded kind of.. odd. "Aaah, it's good to hear from you." No, something definitely wasn't right.

"Professor?" She questioned but he continued as if he hadn't heard her. "I just wanted to call you and say that it's about time you travelled through Ilex Forest. I have analyzed the situation and it seems to be all right, I need to call the others now, goodbye." Well that was odd, she could swore she heard an apology at the end, but it could have been part of the static that her phone was sending in her ear after he hung up. She still had quite some hours until sun down so she decided she would go in right away.

She had the urge to log into her box right away to store the ghost, but she thought better of it. She had no time, she wanted to get on the other end ASAP. Plus Sahib would never let her forget it if he got there sooner. So she quickly put on her new jeans and wore the unbuttoned blouse over her usual orange tank top. She clipped the pouch to the jeans and ran a brush through her wet hair and off she went. Even though she had bought the blouse to cover her arms, she stubbornly rolled them up to her elbow. She didn't even bother putting her hair up, she had waited for this moment a full day and she was going to go right now.

The forest looked quite lively from the outside. She swallowed before entering, reminding herself that just because the guy had caught a Misdreavous here did not mean that the forest was infested with ghosts. It was a normal forest with its creepy bugs, probably some birds. That's it. A normal forest.

The moment she entered she had regretted ever entering in the first place. This was not what an ordinary forest looked like. All the life had seemed to have died. The plants, the trees. There wasn't a Pokémon in sight. Everything was.. dead. The bare trees had lost all of their leaves. Those were laying on the ground now, brown and dead. For a bare forest, though, it didn't let in a whole lot of light. Everything was dark. There was even a sort of fog on the ground as if it were midnight instead of 4 o clock in the afternoon. She checked her cell, but there was no reception. It wouldn't even display the correct time, instead her clock kept displaying a different time.

Well, she had to get going now. There weren't any Pokémon anyway. No wonder the guy had said it was cursed. After walking a couple of steps she drew in a sharp breath. Before her was a wooden shrine. In front of it lay a familiar green haired guy.. unconscious. Around the shrine there was some vegetation that had managed to cling on to life. Some leafless vines were creeping up the sides of the shrine, but they still had a greenish hue. A few branches had one or two yellowing leaves on it. But it was struggling.

When her vision came back to normal she was strangely disoriented. It was as if you stood up too fast, her vision was crowded and there was black around the edges. She felt dizzy, but the black was slowly creeping away and making way for the dead forest. No, she really could not turn back now! She marched on determinedly wincing every time she heard a branch crack. She was getting paranoid.

Every once in a while she swore she heard a swoosh in through the trees. She'd whip around trying to locate the source, but nothing was there. They were getting more frequent with every step into the forest she took until she heard one with every step. She kept whipping around but ended up facing nothing, but then she'd hear it from the opposite side and when she turned around it was in some other area. She felt played with. But most of all Liliana felt scared.

Then she turned around to face two huge eyes. They big white eyes were staring right at her, a pinkish tongue hanging out of a mouth. A round head. And lots of gas surrounding it. The muscles in her body froze as she stared at the Ghastly and it stared at her. Then another came from the trees to join its brother. They both stared at her curiously.

She managed to move her hand shakily to her belt and removed two balls. When they opened they revealed to contain… Abu and the Misdreavous. The sight of the other ghost made her stagger backwards away from the Ghastly. All she could do was watch as Abu stared at her expectantly and the Misdreavous cried out happily at the sight of her. But the two Ghastly became aggressive at the sight of the two enemies. One of them moved in to lick Abu, who shuddered in response. That's when the battle started.

Liliana had backed up against the tree and was staring in horror. She couldn't do anything, she didn't have the guts to talk, or move, or do anything other than watch and maybe blink every once in a while. Abu jumped at the opportunity to show off his newly learned move. His tail lit up in flames as he punched the first Ghastly spot on. Misdreavous seemed to understand that there was a fight going on and she evaded the second Gastly's lick attack. In return her eyes glowed red as bright red rings came out of them and hit the opponent.

The first Ghastly locked eyes with Aby and suddenly the big white ones went blue as he doubled in size and loomed over Abu. The night shade attack made Liliana shudder. She was still frozen in fear as her Pokémon battle her battle independent of her. The second ghastly also locked eyes with his opponent and he used a Hypnosis attack to lull Misdreavous asleep. She drifted to the ground and started sleeping, but her sleep wasn't peacefully. The Ghastly moved in and used his tongue to lick all around her. This made her eyes snap open again as she stared at Ghastly almost in disgust.

Misdreavous suddenly disappeared in a gust of smoke and reappeared behind ghastly. There she shot a purple beam from her eyes that started it so much that it couldn't move. She then nodded toward Abu, who broke away from his own opponent and hit the frozen ghastly with a fire punch. Misdreavous then moved on to the first Ghastly and sent a little yellow light toward it. It followed the light around and around until it became dizzy. It tried to lick Misdreavous but it underestimated the distance and ended up licking the other Ghastly instead.

The second Ghastly did not take kindly on getting attacked by its brother and it fired an angry night shade at the first Ghastly. That one was so confused that it still thought that Misdreavous was in front of it and it used hypnosis. The second Ghastly fell into a blissful sleep. Misdreavous then moved in with a psybeam and the second ghastly was defeated.

Abu the used another fire punch (Which had apparently become his new favourite move, setting pay back aside) which took care of the last one. When the other Ghastly fainted Abu puffed up his chest in pride. Liliana's body seemed to relax a bit with the two Ghastly gone. But she still stared at Misdreavous with discomfort. The Misdreavous didn't seem to notice that as she floated over to Lili and cried out happily. She then looked at Liliana with a confused expression when she didn't praise her.

Liliana swallowed and reached out to touch the Misdreavous, who cried out again and bumped into her hand happily. Lili found that she wasn't really afraid of the strange Pokémon anymore, but there was still a strange discomfort in looking at her. But Misdreavous obviously wasn't going to hurt her anytime soon. Except that she might break Liliana's hand if she continued rubbing her head against it like that. You'd almost think the thing had been a cat in its previous life.

"I guess you're not that bad." She smiled weakly, and Misdreavous vocally voiced her happiness again. "And you were great too, Abu, thank you." In response Abu climbed her and ended up sitting on her shoulder, the tail swaying happily behind her back. Misdreavous continued floating beside her head, unsure what to do.

"Do you.. Do you want to stay out?" Liliana asked awkwardly. The Misdreavous answered her by floating in happy circles around her head. With that she continued walking through the wood. Abu's presence calmed her. Misdreavous was tolerated for now, but still uncomfortable. But there was also the feeling of foreboding. The memory of how Elm's voice had been so strange. The vision of Bugsy laying there in front of the strange shrine…

"DAMION SUGIMORI! GET YOUR BUTT IN HERE, NOW!" Nurse Joy's shrill shriek pierced the calm walls of the AzaleaPokemonCenter, the late evening mist layering the town in a serene blanket of silence. The soft glowing disc of a sun began to lower behind the trees, lighting the sugary clouds above with a gentle purple sheen. Spearow and Pidgey eagerly hopped among the streets of the town, eating the unfortunate bugs that were run down by the cop vehicles earlier in the day. Everything was peaceful….

"My butt stays on my bed!" Damion yelled back.

Damion had been accused of stealing Nurse Joy's hat while calmly laying in his room, but since no proof was found the boy simply stood in his room awaiting the call from Prof. Elm. Now, Nurse Joy was on a rampage to find her Nurse cap.

Damion heard stomps coming down the hall and grinned. It amused him to see her mad.

Speak of the devil….

Nurse Joy stood in the doorway to the bedroom Damion had, hands on her hips, eyes flaring and mouth creased into a visible snarl.

"Yes?" Damion smothered the smirk that was trying to force its way to his lips. It was really hard not to laugh….

"Don't 'yes' me mister, my cap is gone, and you were there went it went missing." The woman seethed, pointing savagely to her capless skull.

"Really? I suggest going to the police, Officer Jenny is right outside." Damion smirked.

"NO! GIVE ME MY CAP!!"

She fell silent as Taro wandered in, singing a small voice while imaginarily taking trays of pokemon, obviously imitating Nurse Joy. The rock pokemon was smiling until he noticed Nurse Joy standing before him, practically breathing fire.

The pokemon left the cap behind and dashed down the hall, the nurse promptly bent over and picked up the nurse cap.

"Sorry, I thought you took it." Damion's eyes went back to normal size and went from her behind back to her face, he had his fits of perversion. Probably inherited from his grandfather,

"Umm. It's okay. Haha, I better go get Taro." Damion chuckled as he walked past the giggling Nurse Joy and ran over to Taro,

"What was that about?" The boy questioned his laughing Larvitar and sighed, he returned the pokemon back to its pokeball. The boy slightly jumped as his chest began to vibrate, he looked down to see his PokeGear receiving a call. He grabbed the PokeGear and flipped it open,

~Incoming Call....Unknown.~

Damion arched an eyebrow and answered,

"Hello?" The boy said with a hesitant voice,

"Hello there! It's so good to finally hear your voice again!"

Damion arched his eyebrow again and noticed the hesitation in his voice, something wasn't right.

"Well anyways...I-I just wanted to tell you that you should...enter IllexForest. I have carefully analyzed the situation and consulted it with...some friends. So I'm sorry, but I have to call the others. Goodbye!....I'm really sorry..."

Damion's eyes widened as he heard the whispered tone of Elm's last statement,

"What are you talkin-" Damion was interrupted by the familiar sound of the call's ending. The line was cut, and Damion sighed. He quickly walked back to his room and grabbed his bag, he put it on and quickly signed onto his PC. He withdrew his two Antidotes and potion he had bought before the gym battle, but didn't use.

"These'll come in handy." The boy said as he logged off and closed the door, he walked by the front desk and handed the embarrassed Nurse Joy the key to his room.

"Sorry again Damion, goodbye!" The nurse smiled, Damion waved his hand as he exited the building. The scenery before him unfolded, a calm and peaceful Azalea. After the cops had left, the town reverted back to its normal tranquil state.

The boy walked up to the gaping mouth of the forest, its eeriness loomed over the boy. It seemed to emanate a dark aura, a dark aura that called out to Damion. His pupils shrunk drastically, and his crimson eyes grew dull. Damion's mouth opened as he looked into the sky, mindlessly, multiple images flashed through his head. Screams being heard in the back ground, like something out of a horror movie.

A nice, wooden shrine stood proud, a red ribbon flowing in the wind. At the base of the shrine was a worn-out Bugsy, his clothes tattered and his net broken in half. His unconscious body laying there, lifelessly.

Damion reverted back to his normal state, his eyes coming back to life as he blinked several times. The boy shook his head, and held it.

"What...was that?" Damion asked himself as he looked back at the forest, the entrance was scary, the boy gulped as his pokemon shivered in their pokeballs. Damion exhaled deeply and entered the forest.

The long tunnel of darkness was depressing, nothing...no one around. He quickly made his way into the forest, the indefinitely creepy forest that separated AzaleaTown from GoldenrodCity. The naked trees were large, lifeless and covered with moss, dangling in strips of grungy fuzz. The dead, gray grass was knee high in some places, things shifted in the boughs of the mighty trees, their eyes glowing and seeming to taunt the travelers, daring them to walk past.

Damion held his throat and gasped for some oxygen, the air was really thick in the forest. Blocking his throat from accessing oxygen. Damion's eyes shifted around the forest, he shivered and decided not to linger. He quickly made his way down the ribbon of run-down grass which was the only path in the forest, Damion's spine tingled as several figures darted across his vision.

He spotted the ghostly figures float across his body and back up into the sky as the boy released Hoot, the flying/psychic pokemon scared off any ghosts that came to close. All was good for Damion until he felt a sharp pain in his head,

"OW!" The boy yelled out and looked up to see a Murkrow pecking his head, and Hoot trying to desperately yell at it to go away.

"Reflect!" Damion said as he dashed away from the dark/flying pokemon, Hoot quickly provided a barrier for protection. The Murkrow's long, yellow beak trapped in the psychic wall of energy.

"Psychic." Damion ordered, the Murkrow launched away towards a tree. Damion quickly threw his pokeball at Hoot and recalled his pokemon.

"Sprink!" The boy yelled as the pink electric pokemon appeared, menacingly discharging electricity from her fur.

"Charge." The boy grinned as he fur grew to phenomenal proportions and glowed a magnificent yellow. Sprink giggled and released a bolt of electricity as her trainer ordered her to,

"Good thundershock." Damion grinned as the stream of powered up electricity struck the bird pokemon head on and sent it flying into the bows of the dead trees.

The Murkrow flew rapidly at Sprink and began to plunge his beak into her fur, being more of an annoyance that anything. The Murkrow's eyes widened as his movements became rigid, electrical signals coiling around the bird' body.

"Cotton Spore!" Damion raised his arm, Sprink released a cloud of spores that slowed the movements down. Murkrow quickly flapped his wings to reveal a cloud of black smoke, the area was blanketed in a blanket of black smog which allowed Murkrow to move with ease.

"Alrigth then, Hoot! Finish this off with a confusion attack" The pokemon were quickly shifted, and the Noctowl released a wave of purple energy quickly that knocked the Murkrow back into the dead bushes.

Damion smirked and kept walking down the trail of run-down grass...

"Oh, hey. Kid, you might want these!", a voice came, followed by a few thuds on the ground near Lucas's feet. Looking down, Lucas found two Max Revives and a Full Restore. Grinning slightly, Lucas removed the pokeballs at his waist, and sent his three pokemon to his side. In a heap to the left, Lucas fed the items to his fainted pokemon, while he sprayed the remaining item on Lavitz, who was on the ground at his side. Krad and Spade sprang up within a few seconds of being fed the items, while Lavitz shreiked briefly as the sting of the potion took effect. Smiling, Lucas recalled Spade and Lavitz to their pokeballs, while leaving Krad to walk with him, as usual.

"Thanks!", Lucas called as he ran off into the forest with Krad. The man grinned, then turned and exited the forest.

Hmm, it feels like it's harder to breathe than normal. As far as I know, we didn't climb a mountain in the last few minutes, so something must be up with this forest. And what's with the dead grass and plants? I don't like this. I just need to find Bugsy and knock those punks out, then get out of this forest. It's creepy, and I don't like it one bit... Lucas thought, he could tell the air was thicker here then in Azalea, and the dead growth around him, coupled with the dark provided by the huge trees overhead created quite the creepy image. Suddenly, Krad tensed up, entering a fighting stance, and from the shadows, came a shroud of purple gas. And at the center was a Gastly, smirking.

"Ah, a Gastly! Krad, get it with Leaf Blade!", Lucas called quickly. Krad was just as quick to the punch, and was at point blank range in seconds, blades at the ready. The Gastly however, wasn't feeling like getting hit, and faded into the air, only to reappear behind Lucas, with yet another smirk on it's face. Both Krad and Lucas were shocked by the speed of the ghost pokemon, and the Gastly made no effort to hide it's speed either, quickly zipping from place to place. "Ugh, it's too fast! Krad, Screech!", Lucas commanded, hoping the sound would immobilize the Gastly just like Ariados. Sure enough, as Krad opened his mouth and released the Screech, Gastly closed it's eyes in pain, temporarily stopping. That time was more then enough for Krad to pull off a Leaf Blade, and so he did, slashing the Gastly across the face, and causing it to fall to the ground, knocked out cold.

"This looks like a good time to throw a po--What? I don't have one?! DAMMIT!", Lucas exclaimed angrily, then walked away, signalling for Krad to follow. I just wanna get OUT of this damn forest. This is too annoying, the perfect chance to catch a pokemon, and I'm all out of pokeballs, perfect. Let's hope I can find Bugsy soon...

And no sooner did Lucas think that, then did three more Gastly appear, grinning viciously. Damn, this just isn't my day, now is it? Lucas couldn't help but be irked by the turn of events since entering the forest. Glancing down at Krad, Lucas caught the Grovyle's eye, and nodded. The two were on the same wavelength already. Krad leapt into the air, and unleashed a sharp Screech, then followed up with a Leaf Blade, although it only had the reach to hit one of the Gastly, who flew back violently. The other two had been safely out of range, and fired off a pair of Night Shade bursts. Krad, who had been finishing up his Leaf Blade, was unable to move in time, and was hit head on by both Night Shades. Crying out in pain, Krad fell to his knee on the ground below. However, the Gastly trio weren't about to let Krad get out of harm's way that easily, and the Gastly who had been hit previously, chose at that moment to Lick Krad upside the head, surprising him enough to make him jump back towards Lucas.

"Krad, these guys aren't playing fair, I'll give you some help!", Lucas said, then went to grab Spade's pokeball, but was cut off as Krad gave a cry in protest. He'd better know what he's doing...Guess I'll trust him again, he hasn't let me down so far, Lucas thought, while motioning for Krad to make his move. The Grovyle grinned briefly, then launched into a Quick Attack, with his Leaf Blade going at the same time. He sped around the three Gastly with a trail of light following him. The circling didn't last long, however, as Krad abruptly changed directions, and slashed at a Gastly from behind. The Gastly never stood a chance, and was fainted instantly. The other two didn't take the third's defeat so well, and launched into a barrage of Night Shades.

"Krad, Quick Attack! Come on, get away from those attacks!", Krad complied with the Quick Attack order, but failed to follow the last order, instead choosing to weave through the Night Shades, until finally reaching the two Gastly, and shooting passed them, causing the two to spin around uncontrollably. The weaker Gastly, the one Krad had hit earlier fell unconcious from the spinning, the remaining one simply flew off rather awkwardly. Lucas cheered for Krad's improvisation, and Krad simply held his hand in the air, giving a thumbs up to Lucas, while unintentionally striking a rather awesome pose, Lucas noticed. Dude, Krad was totally epic just then...Huh, it looks like we're further into the forest then when those three Gastly ambushed us...We still need to find Bugsy and the freaks!

Chapter 11
Part 3
Choices

You have been wondering around the creepy Ilex forest for sometime now… You figured you would give Elm a call but there seems to be no signal available, and your phones time is stuck on the same time as when you entered the forest. As your walking you see that a bunch of trees have been bent over one specific area almost creating a dome.. and something inside of you tells you to check it out.. So you have one of your pokemon break into it.. Once inside you find that this area has a strange feeling to it, and then you notice it… In the middle of the dome sits the Shrine that you envisioned outside of the forest, and none other then Bugsy. You start to get the chills as that just makes this place even creepier and then you hear him..

"They say that shrine was made for the time travel pokemon Celebi long ago" he says as you turn around to find the black cloaked man responsible for all of your troubles standing there. You reach for you pokeball but he tells you to stop..

"I'm not here to fight.. I have a proposition for you." He says as he waits to see if your listening.

"You and your fellow trainers are getting stronger by the day, and it's pointless for me to just destroy you, when you could help me, and I in return could help you?" He says softly.. you can somewhat hear truth behind these words.. and you ask him what he is talking about..

"It's quit simple, when I was a trainer like you there was one thing I wanted.. and that was to be the strongest and best, I found so many different ways but only one way worked the best" He says pausing for a second leaving you to ponder this one thing..

"Darkness…" He says as he raises his head up and winks at you..

"Darkness can give you power, and it can provide you with that one thing… the one thing you have always wanted in your life (at this point you can put the one thing your character wants so bad into this area, weather it be friends, the truth to something of your past, or other things.) Aren't you tired of not being told what is going on? Elm and his buddies are parading around using you as there tools! But me, I noticed your potential. Chapter 11
Part 3
Fate
(TSUKUYOMI"S CHAPTER)

You have been wondering around the creepy Ilex forest for sometime now… And still you find no signs of Bugsy or the cloaked men. Apart of you is getting really tired of this forest and would like to make your way out of the other side but the adventurous side is telling you to keep looking. Suddenly you spot something strange, an area of trees and bushes have been bent over one spot and you decide to check it out. You have one of your pokemon make there way inside before finally making it inside and right in front of you is a strange looking shirne, but also Bugsy.. The gym leader is lying on the ground next to the shrine completely unconscious. You hear a faint creepy voice coming from behind you and you turn in shock to see a cloaked man in black instead of white.

"They say that shrine was made for the time travel pokemon Celebi long ago" he says as you turn around to find the black cloaked man responsible for all of your troubles standing there. You reach for you pokeball but he tells you to stop..

"Hold on a sec there kiddo, I'm afraid we have not met?" he says in a calm way before continuing.

"You aren't one of Elm's new trainers… no.. you don't have a dex, why did you come into the Ilex Forest?" You then explain to him why you decided to come into the forest..

He looks at you and then a grin comes across his face. "Ha you know what Kid I like your feel for adventure, and I can see in you that drive to be a powerful trainer… well I can help you with that, and I can give you the one thing that you want" he says as you look at him wondering what he means.

"Darkness can give you power, and it can provide you with that one thing… the one thing you have always wanted in your life (at this point you can put the one thing your character wants so bad into this area, weather it be friends, the truth to something of your past, or other things.) Aren't you tired of being a mediocre trainer, and people not noticing your real skils. But me, I can see your potential. I would like to extend to you an offer to join my group.. we are a group with a cause... We can make the world a better place bent on doing something great for the world, but first comes a price… with your help we can reach our goals, and with my help you can have that one thing you have always desired.. and ultimate power" He says before turning to look at Bugsy then back to you.

If you chose not to join him he says this "Ha well like my old colleagues from Kanto you are a fool!! Now face your destruction!!" He shouts as two cloaked trainers in white pop up from behind you and release there pokemon.

The mans Weavile throws you to the ground and gets ready to start clawing away at.. The forest air was getting thicker as the boy walked down the road, he struggled to breath at time but he decided to stay strong. Dozens of Murkrow and ghost pokemon were hovering over-head, they seemed to prefer the clean air over the thick air in the forest. The gray tree trunks stood lifeless, creating a barrier outside of the road that was a trail of run-down grass.

Damion sighed as he walked through the forest, how big was this stupid forest? Damion just wanted to get out, but then again he might want to catch a pokemon for his team. He's had three for awhile, maybe getting a fourth might help with the next gym. He quickly picked up his PokeGear to give Prof. Elm a call, maybe he had info on the next gym.

"No Signal..." Damion closed his eyes and sighed, he has had no signal since he entered the forest. He opened one eye and peeked at the time,

"6:30...." Damion's voice trailed off as he sighed once more, the time has been frozen as well. Maybe it wasn't a good idea to come in here, but then again-Prof. elm did say it was safe.

The boy continued walking when he noticed the trees besides him starting to slant, until finally there was a complete area where trees seemed to be pointing all in one direction. Damion walked towards the dome of dead tree trunks and tried to squeeze his body through it, but to no avail. The boy snapped his fingers,

"Hoot, Take Down." Damion said, the owl nodded and quickly launched its body at the trees. Pieces of dead wood went flying everywhere as the owl smiled, Damion smirked and returned his Noctowl.

He entered the dome area, one foot at a time. The dead grass in here was not gray, but completely charred black. The tree branches had fallen off onto the gray dirt, the boy's eyes widened when he spotted the thing from his small vision. The wooden shrine, it seemed to be the only thing with color in this entire forest. Its red ribbon swaying in the wind, Bugsy knocked out on the floor.

The boy's spine became ice cold, he could see his breath and his heart felt like if it was on fire. The boy's eyes widened,

"Isn't it a beautiful sigh to behold?" A drastically chilled voice said, the boy quickly turned to see HIM. The man wearing a black robe, his pail skin able to be visible through his chin and mouth. Those were the only parts of his face that were visible, the rest covered in a shadow casted by his hood.

Damion quickly crouched into a battle stance and reached for Taro's pokeball, the boy waved his pale finger at Damion. The boy was disgusted by the yellow nail, similar to the shadow hands that killed that man in white on his first day.

"Tsk. Tsk. Tsk...I'm not here to fight you. No, no, no! Here me out," The man stood up from his sitting down position and started to walk in a circle around Damion, "You and your friends are getting stronger each and every day, you are all very strong and have talent." The man smiled,

"They're not my friends, they all hate me. I don't have friends..." Damion spat out at the man, who in turn was surprised. He raised his chin in interest,

"I see, well...it would be a shame to see such talent go to waste. Don't you agree? So why don't you help me...and in return...I can help you." The man said in a maniacal tone, Damion grip on his pokeball softened up and he stood up-right.

"Explain." Damion said cooly, obviously interested in this proposition.

"It's quite simple really, you see...I was once a trainer, much like yourself. My dream was to be the very best, and strongest trainer in all of Kanto. I found many ways to achieve my goal, but only one worked..." Damion's eyes full of quizzical thought and pondered on his words,

"Darkness..." The man said as he looked straight into Damion's eyes and winked, a wink that shook Damion's very soul.

"Darkness...ah Darkness. The wonders it can do, it can provide you with that one thing...the one thing you dream about, the one thing you want so badly-"

"Friendship." Damion cut the man off and walked towards him, the boy got right in the face of evil and spat in his face. The liquid running down the man's pale face,

"Don't you tell me that Darkness can give me friends. NOTHING, can make friendship appear. NOTHING!" The boy yelled in the man's face, such anger...from one so young. The man was shocked,

"How do you know that? Do you know that or a fact? Tell me one thing, aren't you tired of being kept in the dark? You're a simple PAWN of Elm's!" The man yelled right back in the face of Damion.

"Just answer this simple question, Will you join me? I'm part of a worthy cause, a group bent on making the world a better place. By doing something great, but first comes a price...if you help me, we can finally reach our good goals. With MY help, you can finally know what friendship feels like, and have ultimate power along with it." The man smirked, then glanced over at Bugsy.

"It can even save his life..." The man said plainly, extending his hand...his cold, lifeless hand...golden nails reaching out. Damion sighed,

"Save his life, huh?" Damion sighed, and extended his hand. The boy's crimson eyes looked straight into his shaded face.

"You have just made the best decision of your life, it would have been a shame to waste such talent" The man smirked, Damion's eyes widened as a purple puddle of darkness surrounded their feet. A portal of purple-black energy appeared and enveloped the boy and man. Damion's eyes widened as the world around them went black...

What had he done?

The Illex Forest Shrine stood proud, the dome of gray trees stood silent. The man and Damion had long since then left, thick air now filling the dome. Bugsy groaned, his eyes slowly opening. The man's world soon coming-to. The man sat up-right and looked around.

His eyes widened as he caught sight of an explosion of white light, the shrine doors shot open, a small vortext of white and green light apperared. A petite pokemon appeared, the shrine doors quickly closing shut. Bugsy's eyes widened, the small green pokemon floated.

"My forest...I have failed you. Look what has become of you, I am sorry. I must take my leave now, I am sorry my forest, I cannot let them fufill their evil deeds."

The pokemon said with psychic powers, the pokemon quickly floated across the dome.

"Celebi...." Bugsy's voice was amazed.

"I have been gone so long… look at you my poor forest.. I wish I could stay with you, but sadly I must go once again, I must not let them achieve there goal" the pokemon said in her head. Her face contorted to shock as a puddle of darkness appeared, forming into a tall man in a black coat.

Without a word, the man held up what seemed to be a gun.

"Celebi! Look out!!" Bugsy yelled out, the pokemon eyes' widened and turned to flee. Her body was entangled in shock waves, she was badly hurt and fell to the floor unconscious.

"Finally after all these years….I knew using these trainers as pawns would attract the true item I desired.. YOU!! Now we can put the full plan into action, and bring the Darkness back to the world!" The man chuckled darkly, then turned to Bugsy.

"Oh, well hello there. I completely forgot you were here, sorry...but we can't have people running around telling them about this, now could we?" The man smirked. Bugsy growled and brought forth two pokeballs,

"Do NOT harm celebi!" Bugsy screamed as he released Butterfree and Beedril with a cloud of smoke,

"Well then, let's have it your way." The man smirked darkly, releasing a menacing Charziard and Venasaur.

"Let's Begin. Solar Beam, Fire Blast!"
_______________________________________________

After five minutes of intense fighting, the battle was over. Butterfree and Beedril lay on the ground, bruised and defeated. Bugsy fell to his knees, panting.

"Phew! That was enterntaining, so where's my gym badge? Hahahaha!" The man laughed darkly, he looked back down and growled,

"FOOL!! THERE IS NO USE TRYING TO STOP US! NOW YOU'LL DIE LIKE FALKNER, AND SOON EVERY GYM LEADER IN JOHTO!! HAHAHAHA!!!" The boy laughed maniacally, and quickly flung a ball at Celebii. The blue ball opened and sucked the Celebii inside, the ball quickly returned the man's hand. He gripped it, his fingers covering the white "M" inprinted on it.

"Please discard this trash." The man ordered, as he released a third pokemon. The black ice type grinned as the Venasaur quickly held Bugsy down with its vines, the grass type pinned Bugsy's body against the shrine. The shrine bent back, as Charizard and Weavile inched closer.

A single bead of tear fell down his cheek, his memories passing through his head.

This was the end...

As Scythe waits for a response over the phone, Gregory also stares and waits for the verdict. "Ahh it is good to hear from you" Elm says in a semi-weird voice.. "Professor is everything ok?" Scythe asks the man.

"I just wanted to call you and tell you that it is about time you enter the Ilex forest, I have analyzed the situation and it seems to be alright to enter, I need to call the others so goodbye..…." Elm responds before he whispers something at the very end "I'm sorry…." "Wait what was that last part?" Scythe questions over the phone, but with no answer.

Scythe looks up as he puts the phone back in his pocket, and he notices Gregory waiting patiently. "So?" the ninja asks Scythe. "Were going in.." Scythe speaks softly as if he isn't to sure about it. "Alright let's be heroes and save Bugsy!" Gregory hollers as the two begin to walk to the entrance.

"PZZZZZZZT!" a sharp pain in Scythe's head begins ringing as an image pops into his mind. "Bugsy!" Scythe yells as he sees an image of Bugsy sitting next to some sort of shrine. "Scythe are you ok?" Gregory worriedly ponders as he witnesses the boy screaming out Bugsy's name for no reason.

The pain goes away and so does the image leaving Scythe confused out of his mind. "uh ya…let's just go!" Scythe orders Gregory as they make their way into the forest.
"Man this place is freaking creepy!" Gregory whispers as he looks at his surroundings. "Your telling me!" Scythe agrees as he gets a chill down his spine.

"So Scythe where do you think Bugsy would be?" Gregory questions the dex holder. "He's near some sort of shrine" Scythe instantly answers the ninjas question. "What? How do you know?" Gregory quickly responds. "I just do now let's go." Scythe says in an angered state.

"Scythe are you really ok?" Gregory than asks another question. Scythe stops and than begins to speak…"Gregory there's something else I didn't tell ya..."

"What?" Gregory asks back. "Well the reason Prof. Elm didn't want us to go through the forest right away is because everyone who has entered lately has disappeared…" Scythe responds as he stares off into the dark abyss. "DISSAPEARED!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?" Gregory begins to shout at the top of his lungs.

"Ya…I shouldn't have brought you here…because honestly I think it might be a setup.." Scythe whispers back as he starts to walk again. "A setup? Why do you think that? The boy cries out. "The way Elm's voice sounded on the phone…he was nervous…and worried…I don't know…something's just not right…" Scythe states as he begins to shake.

"Scythe?" Gregory yells as he runs over and catches Scythe before he hits the ground. "I'm fine…just light headed.." Scythe reassures the boy as he stands up again. "Still got that headache?" the ninja asks in a scared way.

"Ya it's still here…but I'll be ok…" Scythe than tells the boy as he starts walking forward again. "Maybe we should leave Scythe I mean your not feeling good and I really don't want to disappear!" Gregory begins to cause a commotion. "I really don't think we have that option anymore…" Scythe tells the boy. After hearing this Gregory looks around and notices the entrance is no where to be seen.

"AHHHHHHHHHH were gonna die out here were gonna die!!!!" the boy begins to shout in a horrific way. Scythe grabs the boy's arm and stops him from panicking, "Listen…your stronger than this…just calm down…we came here for a reason…and were going to succeedd."

Gregory than looks up at the trainer who just a second ago collapsed from a headache, but now he's all calm and ready to die for what he believes in. "Your right Scythe…as long as were together no one can stop us!" Gregory happily chants as Scythe throws a smile back on.

"You know Gregory, your actually living up to the conditions of our bet I see" Scythe states with a chuckle as he remembers there first encounter. "Ya well I figured you were right about the whole attitude and swearing thing…it just wasn't me." Gregory smiled as he looked up at the person he now thought of as a friend.

"But Scythe…do you really think we can save Bugsy?" Gregory than cautiously asked the sick Scythe. Scythe gave a quick glance at the boy and than looked up into the trees before saying…"What I think isn't important…as long as we trust our selves and our pokemon…anything's possible." "wow…your right…there's no reassssssoooooo.....AHHH!" Gregory began before he tripped over a stump.

"Are you ok?" Scythe quickly yelled out as he grabbed the boy by the arm and lifted him up. As Gregory stood up he quickly pointed out something that didn't look right, "Scythe.." he started. "Ya?" Scythe answered in question form. "Your nose…it's gushing blood!" Gregory began to commotion.

"Uh…I'll be fine come on let's go!" Scythe reassured the boy once more as he wiped the blood with his coat. Gregory decided not to make a scene about it and began walking forward once more.

"Truth is….i'm really light headed…and I don't feel good at all…this is the worse headache yet…and that's probably because I'm trying my hardest to keep it controlled…because well I'm scared to hell after hearing myself tell my dad I wasn't there…" Scythe thought to himself as he stared at the ground.

After another hour of walking and battling random pokemon…

"Hey Scythe why does this area look differen't?" Gregory asks Scythe while observing the way the trees form a dome.

"I uh…I don't know……BUGSY!" Scythe begins to scream as he sees Bugsy below a shrine just like in his vision. "Holy **** Scythe you were right! He was by a shrine!" Gregory screeches as the two begin to dart for Bugsy.

Tim0789: Wow pretty good post very detailed.. I am very intrigued about these headaches and bloddy noses XD!

Sahib sighed softly to himself. He had been walking around the Ilex Forest for quite a while now, and he was wondering if he was lost in all truth. Though he had stuck to what appeared to be an obvious path, Sahib still had a bad feeling. He had once picked up his phone in an attempt to call Elm, but there was no signal. Upon further inspection, Sahib found that the time of his phone was stuck to the same exact time as when he entered the forest. Sahib found this rather odd, but then he remembered the myths of the forest and Celebi and just brushed it off.

Now he had come upon something that gave him a cold feeling in the pit of his stomach. There was a bunch of bent over trees in one area, creating a dome like shape around…something. Sahib felt an intense urge to break into it and find out what exactly it was, but something inside of him warned him it would be dangerous. Finally deciding screw the danger, he tossed Furret and Aerodactyl's Pokeballs. They appeared in two flashes of white light, looking at each other curiously. Sahib waited until they were done.

"You see that," Sahib began, pointing to the dome. "I want you two to break into it! Furret, you can cut the trees with your claws, and Aerodactyl you use bite and wing attack." Sahib was still deciding against having Quilava out. Something felt terribly uneasy about this whole thing.

Furret and Aerodactyl set right to work. Furret slashed at the rocks with his claws. Aerodactyl smashed the trees with its wings. It would occasionally bite the tree and crush it, if the tree proved to be strong. Sahib waited patiently until the deed was done. Once it was, he thanked his Pokémon and recalled them. Sahib then walked inside the dome, feeling even more uneasy. Finally he noticed it. There was a shrine sitting in the middle of the dome…and Bugsy was near it. Sahib felt an immense feeling of déjà vu sweep over him as he stared. A shudder ran down his spine.

"They say that the shrine was made for the time travel Pokémon, Celebi, long ago," a man said from behind him. Sahib whipped around, surprised to see the black cloaked man standing there. He glared and quickly reached for Furret's Pokeball. The man held up a hand, telling Sahib to stop. "I'm not here to fight…I have a proposition for you." He paused, seemingly waiting to make sure Sahib was listening. "You and your fellow trainers are getting stronger by the day. It's pointless for me to just destroy you, when you could help me…and I, in return, could help you." There was a softness in his voice. Sahib could hear truth in his words…he frowned.

"What do you mean?" Sahib said in an equally quiet voice.

"It's quite simple, when I was a trainer like you there was one thing I wanted…and that was to be the strongest and best. I found so many different ways but only one way worked the best…" he said, pausing for a moment. It left Sahib to ponder the thing, so he did. "Darkness…" the man answered. He raised his head up and Sahib saw him wink. Sahib's expression stayed clean.

"…" Sahib didn't reply.

Instead, the man just continued. "Darkness can give you power, and it can provide you with that one thing…the one thing you have always wanted in your life…friendship and feelings. Don't you want that, Sahib? Aren't you tired of not being told what is going on? Elm and his buddies are parading around using you as their tools! But me, I noticed your potential. Basically I want you to join my group…we are a group with a cause...We can make the world a better place. We are bent on doing something great for the world, but first comes a price…with your help, we can reach our goals. With my help you can have that one thing you have always desired…and ultimate power." He smirked slightly as he finished. There was a brief pause, where he looked at Bugsy, and then turned back to Sahib. "It could…even save his life." Then his hand was reaching out, palm upturned.

Sahib stared at his hand. There was a promise with him. If Sahib went with this man, then he could have what he wanted…he could have friends…and…maybe even just have some sort of emotion. Sahib's eyebrows furrowed as he took a step towards the man. A smirk curled on the man's lip. Sahib moved his gaze to the ground, slowly reaching out his hand. His other hand moved to his backpack's strap. He set his hand in the man's, and then looked up. There was a strange gleam in his eye.

"I am not a coward," Sahib snarled. He tossed his Pokeball, and then Furret and Aerodactyl appeared in a flash of light once more. "Even if, as the closer I get to the light, my shadow becomes greater…I will never fall to my shadow," Sahib growled. "And I do not need darkness to become strong. I will use my own will to do so. I will not become weak because of you!"

"Ha! Well, like my old colleagues from Kanto, you are a fool! Now face your destruction!" the man shouted. Two trainers cloaked in white appeared from behind him and released two Pokémon. A Houndoom and a Haunter stood facing Sahib's Aerodactyl and Furret.

Sahib smirked slowly at the sight of the Haunter against his Aerodactyl. "And you're a fool yourself!" Sahib called to the man. "Furret, you begin with quick attack on Houndoom. Aerodactyl, finish that Haunter off with bite!" Sahib shouted, pointing to the Pokémon.

Furret charged toward Houndoom with almost fast as light speed. It slammed into the Pokémon's dark chest, knocking it back slightly. The Haunter dodged Aerodactyl's bite, appearing behind Aerodactyl. Aerodactyl maneuvered quickly, smashing its jaws down on Haunter's ghostly body. Haunter cried out, and then suddenly snapped its eyes open. They were glowing a funky color. Moments later, Aerodactyl was sound asleep. Sahib clenched his teeth. The trainers in white chuckled, shaking their heads.

"It's not over," Sahib stated plainly. "Furret, use foresight!" Sahib called. Furret's eyes glowed bright red. It stared at the Haunter, and then finally it was done.

"Child's play," one of the men muttered. "Houndoom, finish that pathetic thing with thunder fang!"

"Haunter, follow up on Aerodactyl with night shade."

Sahib grit his teeth as the attacks were carried out. Houndoom snapped its electrifying jaws down on Furret's body, causing the Pokémon to cry out in pain. The Haunter attacked Houndoom, doing some damage but not much. Sahib noticed Furret was released from Houndoom's grip. Without really thinking about it, he called for a quick attack. Furret smacked into Aerodactyl's body, shaking the large Pokémon and making it slowly open its eyes. The men in white both cursed.

"Aerodactyl, watch out and use bite once more! Don't get caught by hypnosis if you can help it!" Sahib called in an almost desperate way. "Furret hit Houndoom with fury swipes. Follow with quick attack!"

Aerodactyl nodded swiftly and flew at Haunter, slamming against the Pokémon and snapping down with its heavy jaws once more. There was a rather nasty crunch. Sahib had never known that ghost Pokémon really had any bones or something hard. Furret slashed away at Houndoom. It was about to do the follow up, but then Houndoom unleashed a spit of ember in Furret's face. Furret squeaked and knocked backwards, ducking under the ember as much as it could manage. Aerodactyl roared and knocked into Houndoom with its wings. The Houndoom stopped attacking, turning on Aerodactyl and snarling with electrifying lips.

"Watch out, Aerodactyl!" Sahib shouted.

Aerodactyl looked in surprise as Houndoom's jaws clamped down on its body. It screeched in pain, static rolling off of it. Sahib cursed as he saw that the electricity had paralyzed Aerodactyl. Furret, in the meantime, was dodging multiple confuse rays, and Sahib was growing nervous that one would hit. Just when he was about to order an attack, Houndoom charged in and snapped down on Furret's body with another thunder fang. Sahib cursed.

"You're so weak," the man in black commented idly as he watched battle.

"Houndoom, let's finish that Aerodactyl. Use another thunder fang!"

"Aerodactyl, use wing attack and knock its jaw away!" Sahib shouted frantically.

Houndoom lunged, and Aerodactyl slowly moved just enough to where it was able to slam Houndoom in the face with its wing. The Houndoom cried out, tumbling backwards and not getting up. The man stared, almost as if he were unable to believe it. He growled and recalled Houndoom. Furret finally was able to move fully. It slammed into Haunter in a quick attack. Haunter went down, skidding into the dirt as it did. The other man grumbled and recalled his Haunter.

The trainer cloaked in back sighed heavily. He released a Weavile out of a Pokeball. Sahib could tell it was powerful from the moment it appeared. Aerodactyl and Furret weren't giving up. They stood, waiting to see what would happen. There was a faint cry in the distance. The cloaked trainer lifted his head, grinning for an odd reason. There was suddenly a bright flash of light that almost blinded Sahib. Moments later, he appeared directly outside of the Ilex Forest. A sign read Route 34 directly next to Sahib's form. He clenched his fist in the soil, taking up a fistful that turned his hand a rather dirty color. I've been saved once again, Sahib thought bitterly. But…what…what about Bugsy? He couldn't help but wonder. A creepy feeling overcame Sahib as he remembered the odd grin on the man's face.

Side Story:

Bugsy slowly woke up, glancing around. Suddenly he noticed it. Over the shrine there was a bright flash of light and a tiny Pokémon appeared above them floating on its back. Bugsy knew at once…it was the legendary Celebi.

"I have…been gone so long. Look at you, my poor forest…I wish I could stay with you, but sadly I must go once again, I must not let them achieve their goal," Celebi thought to the forest. She looked at the trees fondly whilst floating.

Bugsy watched silently in awe. There, in front of him, was a legendary Pokémon. He felt his awe disappear in place of anger as the man in the dark cloak appeared opposite of him. He pulled out what appeared to be some sort of a stun gun. Bugsy cried out to Celebi, who took note. She was about to leave before she was violently zapped by the ray and fell to the ground in unconsciousness.

"Finally after all these years…I knew using these trainers as pawns would attract the true item I desired…YOU! Now we can put the full plan into action, and bring the darkness back to the world!" the man shouted in almost pure evil joy. He turned to Bugsy. "Oh, I forgot about you, my bad. We can't really let you go off running and telling anyone about this, now could we?" he said. Bugsy reacted quickly by jumping in front of the fallen Celebi and grabbing two Pokeballs from under his belt.

"Don't you touch Celebi!" Bugsy screamed before releasing two of his Pokémon. A Butterfree and Beedrill floated in the air, ready to battle.

"Have it your way," the man in the black cloak said. He released his own Pokémon; a Venusaur and Charizard. The battle didn't last terribly long. It was only about five minutes. Within those minutes, Bugsy's Pokémon were badly beaten and battered.

"Well that was pretty fun. I must say it's been awhile since I have had a real battle. Now where is my gym badge? FOOL, YOU WILL DIE JUST LIKE FALKNER AND SOON EVERY GYM LEADER IN JOHTO!!" the man screamed while half laughing hysterically. He had Venusaur hold Bugsy down with its vines. He called out the very same Weavile that had almost battled Sahib. Then he quickly tossed what appeared to be a Master Ball at Celebi…capturing it without a problem. He turned and walked away as he slowly vanished into the shadows. A single tear fell from Bugsy's eyes as he looked away, knowing that this was the end of his journey. The Weavile smirked evilly, claw shimmering in the light.

Kenneth sighed as he continued deeper into the forest. He, along with Miles, had been walking for what felt like hours, yet they seemed to be getting nowhere. Beside the encounter with the blue Gastly the walk had been smooth, so he thought that they would have been close to exiting, after all he had been on the same path for a while. The area around them looked the same as before, dead and dark. A shiver went down Kenneth's spine and he turned to look behind him, but nothing was there. Still he couldn't shake the feeling he was getting, so he decided to call Prof. Elm back. He clicked over to the phone application on his Pokegear only to see that it had no signal. He sighed and clicked off and when he did he noticed something bizarre. The time on his Pokegear read 6:45…the same time he had entered the forest.

"Well, that's odd…" He mumbled to himself. He thought about turning around and going back to Azalea, it seemed like the best thing to do. He could reach Goldenrod by taking the other route from Violet, though that would take a few days. He closed his eyes and leaned onto one of the trees as he began to think. He could still do it, but then he decided not to since he was already in the forest.

He kept on the trail, making a rhythm with the crunching grass beneath his feet. It was comforting since the forest was quiet, excepted for the occasional cry of a pokemon, but that didn't seem to relax him. A bit onwards, he came across an odd sight. The trees before him were bent over, forming a dome around something. His stomach dropped as a tingling sensation ran throughout his body. He felt that something was up in the dome and he had half the mind to turn around and go back to Azalea. But unfortunately, his heart told him to check it out and when it came to listening to his heart or mind, the heart was always the winner. He reached for Lily's pokeball and called her out while recalling Miles. The Luxio was still a bit tired from his bout with the Gastly.

"Alright! Lily, use body slam!" The Poliwhirl turned and gave Kenneth a thumb up before rushing into the tree, throwing all of her weight on it. Matched with the speed the tree groaned before snapping low at the base and falling out of place with the other trees. Kenneth grinned and recalled her, telling her good job as he placed her pokeball back on his belt.

He walked into the dome to come face to face with a different scenery. Whereas the forest was dead and gray, the area inside the dome was green and stilling hanging on to live. The grass was Kenneth's feet were soft and wet, a much better feeling than the dead grass before. The trees still had green leaves on them, though some were fading to different colors and becoming a bit dry. The air felt a bit nicer, it wasn't as thick and the body could finally take a deep breath. Thought nice and beautiful compared to the rest of forest there was still something strange about the area and that's when Kenneth's eyes fell upon it. In the middle of the dome area, the shrine that he had envisioned stood. It was just like it was in his mind with double doors and vines, sprouting small leaves about the walls. There was even a little light, breaking through small partings at the top of the dome, shining on the shrine. Right before it a man with green hair was lying quietly on the ground, passed out.

"Bugsy!" Kenneth yelled out rushing over to the man. He knelt down beside him and started to shake him, trying to wake him.

"They say that shrine was made for the time travel pokemon Celebi long ago," Kenneth whipped around, quickly getting to his feet. The man in the black cloak stood not far from him, the one responsible for all the trouble Kenneth and the others had been through…and Falkner's death. He gritted his teeth together and reached for his pokeball, but the man held his hand up.

"Whoa, whoa, whoa, hold it! I'm not here looking for a fight," He rubbed his chin. "No, I'm here to propose an offer to you." Kenneth glared at the man lowering his hand and clipping the pokeball back to his belt. From inside their balls, his pokemon watched the scene before them, ready to break free should the man try anything tricky.

"You see, you and your comrades are getter stronger by the day and I've decided that it would be a waste to kill you all. Especially when you could help me…and in return…I could help you." The words lingered in Kenneth's head and he lowered his gaze to the ground. The man's words were sincere and that bothered Kenneth severely. He snapped his head back up.

"What exactly do you mean by that!?"

"Oh, it's quite simple. When I was a trainer, like you, there was one thing I wanted the more than anything else…and that was to be the strongest…the best! I found so many different ways to achieve that goal, but on one worked the best." He paused. Kenneth gulped and he began to worry about what the man would say, what way had given him so much power.

"Darkness…" The man winked at him and Kenneth's fear was realized. He shifted back a little bit his mind filled with a million thoughts. "Darkness…" He mumbled.

"Yes, darkness. It can give you great power and it can provide you with the very one thing…the one thing you've desired all of your life, to become stronger than your father, right?" The boy was shocked. How did this man before him, this man who he hated more than anybody else in the world at the moment, know that he wanted to surpass his father. Heck, his father didn't even know of his wanting to surpass him. He lowered his head.

"Aren't you tired of being left in the dark, not knowing the truth of what's happening? The Prof. and his buddies are parading around, using you as one of their tools! But I! I noticed the potential they have looked over and ignored." He rubbed his chin, a grin plastered on his face. "Basically, I want you to come with me and my group, for we are a group with a cause. We can make the world a better place, a world bent on doing something great for itself, but first there comes a price. With your help we can reach our goals and with my help you can have the one thing you always wanted…the power to exceed your father, but not only that, but you could have…ultimate power!" He held his hand out and looked over at Bugsy's body lying behind the boy.

"It could even save his life…"

'Bugsy!' Kenneth kept his head down. Inside he was having a battle. His mind said join but his heart said fight and in this argument the mind wasn't going to give up so easily. Kenneth had seen the power of the man; enough to kill a Gym Leader and his lackeys had enough strength to beat all of his pokemon with only one of theirs. Even now, when his pokemon have grown stronger and evolved he knew that they still couldn't beat that Scizor. And to surpass his father, he wanted power like that. He sighed and reached for the man's hand.

"I believe you'll be a fine Gym Leader and a great Breeder someday."

"A good Gym Leader makes the right choice and sacrifices their desires for others. They are a helpful authority over trainers and in a way we supervise their journey."

"On your journey many doors will open, sporting many opportunities. While the paths of the doors may overlap and meet, there is only one right path to becoming a Gym Leader. I see a future in which you find that door, and replace me as a Gym Leader."

"Oh were planning something big…and in order for us to succeed in our plans we must rid this region of its toughest trainers, and that means the gym leaders!"

"Don't let the past…become the future…"

Kenneth smirked and slapped the man's hand away, reaching for two pokeballs on his belt. The cloaked man drew his hand close, a look of shock on his pale face. Kenneth knew that the man believed that he had successfully persuaded the boy.

"You said, 'you must rid this region of its gym leaders', right? Well you're standing in front of one! I WILL be the Gym Leader of Ecruteak!" The man scowled and fixed his cloaked. He stared at Kenneth and saw the determination within the boy's eyes. He laughed.

"Then you are a fool! Just like my old colleagues from Kanto. But, if you want to do things that way I will not oblige. Now face your destruction!" As he said that two white cloaked trainers appeared behind Kenneth. The boy whipped around and called both his pokemon. Before him, Lily stood ready to battle while Gastly frightfully hovered behind her. The cloak trainers released their pokemon. One was a Haunter, but the other was one that Kenneth hadn't come across before. It resembled a tall black dog with two white bands around each of its ankles. Across it's back was three bone-like bands and it had a long skinny tail that ended in the shape of an arrow-head. Bone-like structures around its neck give it the appearance of having a collar with a skull pendant. And where its ears should have been was a pair of curled horns.

Houndoom
The Dark Pokemon
If you are burned by the flames it shoots from its mouth, the pain will never go away.

'That's not good, but since it's a fire type he shouldn't be a problem for Lily, as long as Rikko can hold off that Haunter.' He glanced back and forth between each pokemon, thinking a way to win the battle.

"Okay Lily, water pulse on Houndoom. Rikko, try hypnosis!" Lily brought her hands together and formed a ball of water within them, while Rikko nervously floated near the Haunter.

"Hmph, Houndoom smog, then attack with thunder fang!"

"Haunter, interrupt it with hypnosis and then use confuse ray!" The ball within Lily's hands grew to the size of a basketball and the tossed it a Houndoom just as it opened its mouth, releasing a horrid-smelling black gas. The Haunter shot a purplish ring was Rikko just as the ghost pokemon released a blue one. The attacks collided causing the air around them to waver unusually and then an orange ball shot through heading straight for Rikko.

"Dodge, then night shade!" There was a small rumbled and Kenneth glanced over at the Houndoom. It had avoided the ball for the most part, but a wave of water was created with it and it was caught in it. It rolled on its back and sprung up leaping at Lily. Its teeth shined yellow and small bolts crackled from its mouth. While it ran Rikko had shot a black beam from his eyes. The beam headed straight for the orange ball and just before it collided it zoom over it and shot straight for Haunter. The ghost's eyes shot open and it tried to run but the beam collided with its body. It cried out. However victory wasn't for Rikko as he was hit by the orange ball. His eyes turned red and he soared about the air in a manner much like a drunk person's.

"Poli!" Kenneth turned his attention back to Lily. He gritted his teeth. "Rain dance! Rikko, try a lick!" Lily bounced back holding her left arm. She pointed his right palm at the sky and water shot from it. Just before it reached top of the dome a cloud started to form, growing bigger as more water flowed into it. Kenneth watched, thinking of a plan but he was soon interrupted when a long pink tongue slid against his check. He involuntarily shivered and slowly turned to see his Gastly. He twitched and rain started to fall down in the area. Rikko cried out as a beam crashed into his back.

"Now Lily, water pulse and Rikko try night shade!" Rikko turned, still confused, and prepared to fire the beam. However a punch to his small body knocked him back, leaving the ghost dazed for a second. Then the black beam shot from his eyes, hitting the Haunter before it could react. It retaliated and used a night shade of its own and Rikko collapsed. The Haunter grinned widely and took off after Lily on its trainer's orders. Lily had her hands full with the Houndoom, though, thus it was the perfect chance. Kenneth shook his head. 'Not on my watch!' He recalled Rikko and launched a ball into the air. Miles appeared barking. Kenneth's attention returned to Lily. Her attack had missed and now Houndoom was charging again with another thunder fang.

"Lily use body slam! Miles bite that Haunter before he gets to her!" The Luxio barked and sprinted after the Haunter, while Lily ran towards Houndoom. It opened its mouth wide ready to unleash its thunder fang. Haunter was closing in behind her, ready to throw another sucker punch and oblivious to Miles.

"Cannonball!" In mid stride, Lily propelled herself into the air and curled into a ball. He body rolled in the air and picked up speed as it rocketed towards the ground and Houndoom. Haunter speed up, its fist was glowing purple. Houndoom stopped and opened its mouth as wide as it would go, ready to bite. Miles gave a cry, startling both the Haunter and Houndoom who had paid him no attention. He lunged and bit down into Haunter's body with his sharp fangs. Houndoom who was still momentarily was crushed under Lily's weight; however he still managed to bite her leg delivering a powerful shock. She fell to the ground, tired and close to passing out, though by pure will she was hanging on.

"Lily, one more water pulse!" She gave a weak reply and a ball of water formed in her hand. Thanks to the rain it was much bigger than the one before and with the remnants of her strength and threw it at the Houndoom. It was sloppy, causing the ball to drift to the right a bit, but a large wave was made behind it. Houndoom stutter stepped a bit but evaded the ball only taking the hit from the wave. It wasn't enough to finish him off however.

"Ha-ha, now thunder fang!"

"Spark!" Miles took off, running full speed towards Houndoom as it darted off towards Lily. However the Houndoom was much faster and it covered more ground quickly. Miles made a beeline, heading towards Lily rather than the Houndoom itself. Kenneth knew what he was trying to do and he hoped that it would work. The meters between Lily and Houndoom got shorter and shorter until it was almost upon her. It leaped mouth wide and ready to rip into the Poliwhirl. Half conscious she closed her eyes ready for the blow, but it never came. Kenneth sighed in relief as Miles ran into the Houndoom, having no time to jump, and they both feel to the ground. The Houndoom gave a yelp as it was shocked and then laid quietly on the ground. The cloaked trainers grumbled angrily and recalled their pokemon.

"So it seems that I'll have to be your obliterator, oh well." The black cloaked man sighed. He stood for a few seconds and then called out his pokemon. It was a Weavile and Kenneth could tell that it was much stronger than the other pokemon. He gulped and recalled Lily knowing that she could no longer battle at the moment. Miles ran in front of the boy, growling. Then there was a faint cry and the man's head snapped up. There was a grin on his face. Kenneth began to call out but a bright flash stopped him and then there was darkness…

Kenneth groaned as he rolled over on the ground. The sun was shining and he could hear birds chirping and the distant sound of pokemon running through grass. The ground beneath him was hot and made of dirt which confused him. He slowly opened his eyes and looked around. His clothes were dirty and he quickly checked his belt. All of his pokeballs were there and his pokemon were sleeping inside, fully healed. To his right there was a sign that said: Route 34.

He whipped around to see the entrance of Ilex forest. It looked normal, just like it had looked from Azalea. He blinked and thought about the white flash, it seemed familiar like it had happened before and then there was that faint cry he heard. 'Something saved me…but this wasn't the first time.' He looked around. 'Wait! What about Bugsy!? Did it save him too?!?'

He then remembered the look on the man's face when they heard the faint cry. He was…smiling. Kenneth shuddered as he felt a chill run down his spine. Something just wasn't right about this…

~~~
Back in the forest, Bugsy still laid unconscious in front of the shrine. He groaned and moved his arms a bit, then his legs. He rubbed his head as he sat up and looked around. His eyes stopped on the shrine before him as a bright light flashed. A tiny pokemon appeared, floating on her back. Bugsy's mouth dropped, before him was the legendary pokemon, Celebi, the forest's guardian.
"Oh, how long has it been since I've left, and look at you now…my poor forest. I wish I could stay, but I must not let them achieve their goals. I'm sorry, but I must leave again." She thought. She floated over to one of the trees and touched it lovingly.
Bugsy watched in awe, but soon his expression changed to that of anger when he spotted the man in the black cloak. He stood on the opposite side of the door and held what seemed to be a stun gun in his hand. Bugsy called out to Celebi, halfway getting her attention. Taking heed of his words she started to leave, but was stopped as her body was violently zapped. She fell to the ground, unconscious.
"Finally after all these years….I knew using these trainers as pawns would attract the true item I desired... YOU!! Now we can put the full plan into action, and bring the Darkness back to the world!" He laughed. Bugsy climbed to his feet and faced off against the man. The man grinned as he looked at Bugsy.
"Oh, I almost forgot about you. Hmm, you know it would have been better if you stayed unconscious and never witnessed this…but now that you have," He grabbed to pokeballs from under his cloak. "I can't have you run off and tell everyone."
Bugsy jumped in front of Celebi, calling out his Butterfree and Beedrill. "Don't you dare lay a finger on Celebi!" The man chuckled and called out a Venusaur and Charizard.
"Fine, we'll do this your way then." The battle that ensued only lasted around 5 minutes and Bugsy's pokemon were beaten to a pulp.
"Well that was pretty fun I must say, it's been awhile since I have had a real battle now where is my gym badge? Hahahahha!!!!!! FOOL YOU WILL DIE JUST LIKE FALKNER AND SOON EVERY GYM LEADER IN JOHTO!!" He laughed hysterically as his Venusaur held Bugsy down with its vine. He called out the same Weavile that he was going to use against Kenneth and then tossed a Master Ball at Celebi, ensuring her capture. He picked the ball up and turned to the shadows still laughing. Bugsy lowered his head and looked away, knowing that this moment was the end of his journey and his life…and a single tear crept down his face as the Weavile closed in…
