The Life of a Mage

Come on, just a little bit longer... Saphira's sapphire blue eyes were shut tightly, because she was trying to concentrate. She was floating on a thin piece of ice that was hovering a few feet above the rivers surface. Small fish gathered in the shadow of the ice, wondering what it was. Large birds watched her intently, pondering over why a girl would be sitting on a piece of ice over water. The answer was simple. She was bored. What good was it to be bored if you couldn't train?

One of the birds called out, and The piece of ice dropped a few inches. Saphira bit her lip, trying to keep everything under control. She had to block the world out from her mind. Slowly, the ice began to rise back where it was before. The forest was silent again.

"Wherever we feel like going, dear lady" I said with a bow and a grin. "The forest's a large place, we have all day, if we want. Let's enjoy it."

Enjoy it, right...

I smiled. "Alright. Let's go then."

((OOC: I still need to know what time period we're in Jared. >.>))

OOC: Present day, and that's why were away from society, because society wouldn't accept us as wizards and mages, you see.

IC: My body was energized from a good rest, so I rose easily from my spot. I swiveled my head around in search of my companions, although there were none. I gauged from my point in the forest, that I was roughly 5 miles from the house. That's where I wanted to be, because some of my companions were bound to be there. Not to mention that by placement of sun, it was almost 6:00, and we usually ate around 6:30, so they would be heading home soon anyhow. The sun was my clock as well, as my best friend, it would always be there, like a friend should. That was the beauty of light, you could always find it when you needed it's help. On this thought I began my walk towards home, my pace was quick so I extimated it would take me around, oh, 45 minutes. Not too bad, I'd be there in time for dinner.

Riyuko shrugged innocently, and then looked back at Rey.
"I guess I do..." she said, scratching her head. "I used to like it a lot, when I was able to fly freely. But not anymore. I havent flown properly for ages, so I guess I lost my love for it. But sometime I still get a craving to fly".

Paige walked in the forest stoping to look at things but always trying to find some one else. She heard voices up ahead of her her eyes soon filled with excitment. "Hello!" she called out happily in a musical voice. She soon found the people she heard talking she walked up to them and greeted the with a grin "I almost got lost!"

Though he heard a faint rustle in the shadows some distance behind him, Rey turned his gaze directly toward Riyuko. "A caged bird never does fully forget how to fly, I suppose," the mage said quietly. A faint, humorless smile passed through his eyes as he added, "Just don't let your wings get clipped."

Also remebering not to breathe Queitly Velenga held her breathe as she was inches away from the tree they were talking at.She placed her hand on the tree and was about to take a small peek.

As Velenga approached, Rey's ears seemed to tune themselves to the beat of her steps--soft though they were. Without removing his gaze from Riyuko, the mage spoke. "Should anyone take it upon themselves to listen to this conversation while in hiding, they should know that their presence is recognized." Brush a few strands of dark hair away from his eyes, he stated, "More shortly phrased, 'You can come out now'."

The words strucked her.Trying to heard her voice it didn't come. She was frozen in place.Fast in swiftly She disapperd among the shadows."I am not the one to reveal it's self.*she spoke forest spirit*You who has invaded here MUST!".

[I can't see you nor can you see me yet].

Suppressed power began to flow from the mage as he responded, "There is no reason to hide." His sunlit gaze seemed to mist slightly as his attention faintly turned to the events behind him. "Some dwell within the shadows due to enjoyment. But most . . . " The gold of his eyes seemed to gain the intensity of fire. ". . . most dwell in the shadows because of fear."

"If you can bear the light, step forward and show yourself," he stated--neither as command or challenge, but having the tone of an offer.

"The words he is saying...".She said to herself."could it be...he means...no harm...BUT I MUST TEST THAT!".She voilently threw a Powerful dark moon dust at him,Blowing all the others a few feet away.

Rey did not flinch. Still facing away from her, his eyes flashed with a sudden energy. A rift of void was torn open, swallowing much of the power into its depths and protecting both Rey and the tree upon which he still leaned. Then, as the dark moon dust waned, so waned the void--fading until it ceased to exist.

The mage said nothing and did not retaliate, merely awaiting what would occur next.

Velenga sneared."What are you waiting for!".She shout at him."Is it so that you wish to over power me!.Well guess what! you're no match for here!".Velenga claped her hands togeather and send out an utlra sonic wave.

Riyuko was irratated by this new person in which had interuppted the conversation between her and Rey.
"Show yourself now!" she snapped, the wind gradually picking up. "Stop pretending you're better then everyone else, and show yourself~!"

A black hole appeared directly before Velenga's hands, swallowing the shockwave into its depths. Then, the void vanished.

This is an interesting situation . . . A faint, nervous smile passed over Rey's features as he stared skyward. Then, straightening, he snapped his fingers once. As he did so, a wall of void suddenly materialized between both female mages.

"Tearing down the forest won't accomplish or prove anything," Rey said, his tone slightly pleading as he glanced from one mage to the other. Then, to Velenga he added, "And, I would rather not fight you."

"What do you mean!.I'm defending the forset from you intruders!.This forest is sacred cause no People has came here. You wish to harvest the gold riches in the trees don't you?.Well that won't happen while im here!.You must get through me!".

"The wha?" A rare, blank expression passed over Rey's features. "I do not hold my value in gold," he stated. Then, after a pause, he gave an afterthought. "Though, I am not asking you to believe me." He turned in Velenga's direction, his gold eyes staring eerily into the shadows that surrounded her. "I leave that decision to you."

"....".She though deep in her head. She wanted the forest to be safe from others, then at the same time she always wanted to meet others. So many things came to her head at once. She was feeling like it was over powering her."Im different...they don't understand I..need friends...I..I...can't stay in the shadows any more! Argh!".Velenga powerlessly fell from her hidden place and clasped on the ground.

Rey was still for a long moment, giving Velenga time to recover from her flood of thoughts. Then, he turned and gave a reassuring nod to Riyuko. Redirecting his gaze to Velenga, he slowly approached her. Offering his hand to help her stand, he said, "When you've been in the dark too long, the light can hurt. But, the flower that enters the light can bloom all the more brilliantly." His glanced toward Riyuko, adding, "Even if the flower is long hidden."
