So whats up, guys. I started in on the metal generation a bit late (i.e. when the third generation was well under-way), and i have no intentions of buying a gameboy advance.

I like the game, but i'm sick of "the pick your starter, power on the elite four to 70, beat red, repeat" sort of thing. I still like the game, but i wish i could fight real people.

Where do you guys actually play against each other? Are there places for this? is there some online version that i've missed?

Thanks in advance for any help.

We play with wifi for the ds. it goes around the world and u dont have to move. (only 4 ds) but u have to go somewhere + link cable to fight other people

Well technically, that is the point behind Pokemon.. XD
You can fight real people, even back in the old days with R/B/Y/G/S/C. All you needed was a link cable between your GBC or GBA and then you'd be able to battle.

Currently, the most popular method of battling is via the Wi-fi system online. Using Pokemon Diamond and Pearl, you're able to connect to Nintendo's server and then, trade or battle with anyone around the world.

If you don't have this option... there's always the link cable to go around and find others who also have the game and battle. And with the DS, via it's local wireless connection.

Yes, now you don't have the option to use a link cable (and who would want too?) if you want noglaista, use and old GBC or GPB. i dont think you'll ever find a cable for it though.
