Plot: The day comes for every trainer where the novice gets to pick up their starter and journey across continents. Most trainers embark on their journey alone and pick up friends as they travel. However, some trainers are invited to partake in a special development program. These few trainers travel together, however, they do not always travel alone. Various times throughout their adventure, mentors will come and help with their development as a trainer. These mentors are quite convenient, and helpful, but they also like to teach by experience. These teachers, for the most part, leave the group of trainers, to allow them to learn by themselves. However, the tricks they share often give the Lyra Program students an edge in battle. The Lyra Program was founded to help mold novice trainers into a beautiful creation. By pointing the new trainers in the right direction the success of these trainers is multiplied. The Lyra Program's mission is to create some of the strongest trainers in the continents. Trainers start their journey at the age of fifteen. The Lyra Program begins in the region of Kanto, and continues through others. Trainers catch, battle, and earn badges as they travel. Being mentored by some of the regions best trainers as they complete their own journey, they learn and find success.

    Trainers start their journey in Kanto, however, they choose a starter from where their character is from. This has a somewhat open plot which allows for every member of the roleplay to help create an interesting story. Plot twisters will be entered, such as tournaments, and other challenging obstacles characters will have to face. The trainers in The Lyra Program are also ranked for accomplishments. Such as winning battles against each other or catching pokemon.

    Plot Summary: Like many pokemon journeys trainers band together to succeed, it is the same here. The Lyra Program trainers travel together, battle gyms, and do what almost all trainers do. However, they are provided with teachers along their journey to promote success. They enter tournaments, earn badges, and in all just interact with each other. All this is done while also competing against each other. A ranking system is used to rank the accomplishments of each trainer.

    Rules:

    1) No Godmoding or Bunnying. (Do not be the all powerful trainer that just creams ever trainer in their site. Try not to take control of anyone's character, and never take full control of another user's character.)

    2) Be active, stay active. (Obviously life happens, so exceptions are welcome, but try to post often.)

    3) This is going to be a quality roleplay. I want a good paragraph at the least per post. Quality, long post is a lot better then a bunch of little posts. A few paragraph posts are highly welcome. Your first post should also be pretty lengthy.

    4) Keep your characters realistic. Develop your characters, do not make them act the same the whole roleplay. Events help shape a character's personality.

    5) Be creative with your posts, have fun with this.

    6) Don't always be the center of attention. I love when people take the roleplay in their own hands, but don't be constantly making the roleplay about you and your character. Remember their are other people writing this story.

    7) No legendaries.

    8) Swearing and romance are okay, just don't go overboard.

    9) Any pokemon can be caught on any continent. Just make it realistic. Do not find an ice pokemon in a desert.

    Ranking System: Yes, in this roleplay your trainers are competing in a ranking system. How it works. (I am keeping it fairly simple.) This ranking system is for fun, do not go all crazy about it and competitive. It is to add something unique.

    Gym Victory: 10 Points
    Pokemon Caught: 5 Points for each one. (Only catch ones you will use.)
    Battle Won against another RP Member: 5 Points

    Character Entry: (Sign Ups. Anything left out of this application will result into the postponement of the entry until the character is complete.)

    Name: Your character's full name and if they have a nickname add it in here.

    Gender: Male or Female

    Age: They must be 15-16. I know pokemon normally starts at age 10 but just a bit unrealistic, and older characters have a little more depth.

    Appearance: What your character looks like, physical features, and clothes they like to wear.

    Personality: How your character acts and reacts. What they like to do for fun and basically what makes your character special.

    History: Write about what your character has done before the start of the roleplay. This also tells us where your character grew up and lives. This matters for the next part.

    Starter: Your character has no pokemon yet and he starts off with one of the starters from where he grew up from. So if your character grew up in Kanto, you can either start off with Bulbasaur, Charmander, or Squirtile.

    Sample Post: This can either be written right now about a story about your character, or a post form a different roleplay. Please no links. Post a quality post here. If it is really long then just post some of it.

    Any questions about the roleplay post at the start or end of your registration.

    Mentors:

    Jason Paran: He is Kanto's hero. Only in his late twenties, he has defeated all three of the Kanto, Johto, and Hoen leagues. Despite his chase for the Sinnoh League and his recent marriage, he has cleared his plate partially for the Lyra Program. His third year of mentoring, his youth and fresh mind bring something new to Lyra. Jason is known for his cliché, but high-powered Charizard. He believes the less attacks you use to down the opponent the better, and Jason goes for all out power. He is a very talkative guy who gives off a prideful aura. He is currently the most famous trainer on the tour, and also a very valuable asset to the Lyra team.

    Pokemon: Charizard, Nidoking, Gayrados, Umbreon, Dewgong, Vileplume

    Sujima Nakamora: This mentor has claimed every badge there is to claim and all the league championships. Often looked at as the top trainer of his generation, Sujima (Or Narkamora) is most known for his partnership with Scizor. Johto born Nakamora comes from a family with traditional values. His face shows something of Asian descent. He stands only five feet six inches, however has a very broad body. He often pulls out his tuxedo and loves to be dressy. It has been said that Nakamora has never been seen unnerved. Nakamora, in his fourties, has ceased his intense training to settle down with a family and help develop trainers through the Lyra Program.

    Pokemon: Scizor, Feraligatr, Jolteon, Jumpluff, Tyranitar, Aggron

    Raj Mar': Raj's dark skin and wrinkles reveal both his ethnicity and his age. His darker skin and his voice both appear and sound Indian. (Of India.) He is a tactition at heart, and is mostly known for his strategies. Now into his mid seventies, Raj mostly appears at pokemon battles as an honored guest. His battle strategies brought him world recognition, and he is currently the oldest person alive with all league titles and badges. His dress is always that of formal attire from his heritage. Born in Hoen, he grew up just outside Slateport City. Growing up around the sea Raj fell in love with all aquatic pokemon. His trump pokemon, Milotic, has made famous my Raj's defensive strategies. Raj talks very little, but when he speaks it has a certain rhythm and beauty to it. This may be just the wisest trainer in the world, and is the only living founder of the Lyra Program.

    Pokemon: Milotic, Sceptile, Slowking, Slaking, Gliscor, Arbok

    Maria Maranette: Her tan skin comes from no beach, and her tolerance to cold informs everyone exactly where she is from. Snowpoint City, a large, snowy city that resides just north of the famous Mount Cornet. Snowpoint City, mostly known for its production of talented skiers struck gold in the fields of pokemon battling with Maria. Arguablly one of the best trainers ever to come out of Sinnoh, she sits atop the Sinnoh elite four as champion. Her dark brunette hair runs just above her shoulders, and she often chooses to wear a short-sleeve shirt and a skirt or shorts. The pride of Snowpoint also has a swagger to step, she is quite confident. Maria, like all women, talks a lot. She speaks a lot of both gossip and wisdom. She is most famous for her offense style party, and her fast and vile Weavile.

    Pokemon: Imfernape, Alakazam, Bronzong, Weavile, Salamence, Machamp

    I believe this will be a very fun roleplay and join if you are looking for a journey roleplay with a twist.

    Name: Sean Richards.

    Gender: Male.

    Age: 16.

    Appearance: Has bright blue eyes and medium - length brown hair, wears a green Bandanna and shirt, blue jeans, black and white shoes, and a Viridian coat. Carries a single - strap bag coloured light red. His weight is 175ibs and his height is 6ft 0in. Occasionally switches his bandanna for a viridian hat.

    Personality: Cares about Pokemon deeply, and if he sees anyone being hard on their Pokemon (like Paul) or being downright evil, he instantly resents them and doesn't believe they qualify as trainers. Other than that, he's a cheerful, yet slightly quiet boy. He tends to befriend Pokemon easily, although will freeze at the site of Houndoom's.

    History: used to live in New Bark Town before joining the Lyra programme. When he was young, he would play with the friendly Pokemon on the route next to NB. When he was six, he encountered a ferocous Houndoom. Prof. Elm battled it until it fled but the incident left him afraid of Houndoom's.
    Sean and Chikorita became an inseparable pair after that. sean promised to himself that he would become the best trainer from Johto, if not the world, with Chikorita at his side. He joined the Lyra programme to help him achieve this goal.

    Starter: Chikorita.

    Sample Post: Sean was running happily through the grass that hid the Pokemon. The Pidgey's and Sentret's all fled and hid elsewhere at his approach. Not that they were scared of him or anything, it was just a game the Pokemon played with the Child. The boy was running with his head down, looking for the hiding Pokemon, when he ran right into a big, black Pokemon. He fell to ground, shook his head, looked up and saw a snarling beast of a Pokemon staring back at him. Sean was instantly frozen with fear. The thing was pretty big, black with some white stripes on its back, a pointed tail and horns protruding from its head. He had never seen this thing before. Why was it here?

    The beast snorted, smoke billowing from its mouth. Sean wanted to run, to scream, to cry. But he was too afraid. It would surely eat him if he did anything. It moved back a step, opened its mouth, and readied its flamethrower, when it was startled by a cry from behind.

    "Chik, Chiko!"

    The beast looked behind it and saw a tiny green Pokemon with a leaf on its head. It was glaring at the monster. Sean vaguely recalled seeing a picture of the small Pokemon. A 'Chickenrita' he thought. The monster snarled at the green Pokemon, who seemed to be shaking a little. It was also afraid of this Pokemon, but it seemed determined to protect Sean. The big Pokemon charged at the leaf Pokemon, who side-stepped it and tried to tackle from behind, but was knocked back by a kick from the creature. It landed next to Sean, who stared at the brave 'Chickenrita' thing.

    The small Pokemon struggled to its feet and watched the other monster's moves warily. The black creature howled, then threw fire at them. Sean screamed and covered his eyes with his hands, waiting to be roasted alive, but nothing happened. He peeked through his fingers and saw the fire hitting an almost transparent wall. He looked at the 'Chickenrita', who seemed to be the cause of the barrier. It had its eyes closed, struggling to keep up the barrier.

    "Sentret, Iron Tail!"

    A Sentret had appeared from behind Sean, and jumped above the monster, slamming it hard on the head and knocking it out. A Pokeball was thrown at the thing, trapping it inside after some shaking. A hand gripped his shoulder.

    "Sean! Are you all right!?" His mother asked.
    He stared up at her, then at the green leafed Pokemon, which now lay on his lap, looking at him. He picked it up and looked back. After a few seconds, he hugged the pokemon and started crying with relief. The Pokemon hugged back and made reassuring little noises. Behind him, Proffesor Elm and his Mother were talking.
    "Thank goodness you saved him Proffesor! That thing would have killed him!" His mother sobbed.
    "Hmm.. If it wasn't for that Chikorita, I might have been too late." The Proffesor told her. "That's one brave Chikorita, standing up to a Houndoom!"

    After that incident, Sean and Chikorita became best friends, playing, practising battles together, and joining the Lyra project together. Although, Sean held a deep fear for Houndoom after that.

    Good enough?

    My Character

    Name: Charlie Ronson (Chuck)

    Gender: Male

    Age: 15

    Appearance: Chuck has deep blue eyes, medium blonde hair that goes to his brow in the front and below his ears in the back, and has medium length limbs. He is about 5ft 8 in. He wears a black shirt, jean shorts that go a bit below his knees, and a white backpack.

    Personality: Charlie is a nice person and people quickly warm up to him, he is also very funny, he is usually happy.

    History: Charlie is a single child and was born and raised in New Bark city, he often helps prof. Birch catch new starter pokemon, he has been offered to keep one of the starters he catches every time but he never does. He doesn't because he thinks that he isn't ready yet.

    Starter: Shiny Cyndaquil

    Sample Post: Chuck was just walking out of Ilex Forest when he heard a rustle in the bushes. He took a step closer when the bush burst into flames. There behind the charred remains of the bush stood a Cyndaquil scared as could be. Chuck knew what to do he reached into his pack and pulled out a hand full of pokemon food. He held it out before the Cyndaquil's face it didn't eat. He placed it on the ground before the Cyndaquil and it timidly crawled towards it, it began to eat the food. Chuck saw his chance he took an ultra ball out of his pack and threw it at the Cyndaquil. Without even a wiggle it burst out. Chuck reached again into his pack but he was out of pokeballs. Chuck started towards Azeala Town to get more pokeballs, but he noticed that he wasn't alone. The Cyndaquil was following Chuck!!? Chuck hadn't noticed it until the duo got into the light but this Cyndaquil had a red back!! Once he returned to Birch, Birch explained that it was a shiny Cyndaquil. The Cyndaquil wouldn't belong to anyone else but Chuck, Birch suggested Chuck should keep it he wouldn't have it any other way. Chuck had to agree, he decided to name it Matches.

    will you give our pokemon levels up or should we include that in our posts

    Name: Angel Gemps

    Gender: Male

    Age: 16.

    Appearance: Angel has dark blue spikey hair and crystal-like blue eyes that seem to glow slightly in darkness giving them an eerily beautiful vibe (Think Sora Hashiba from 'Sukisho", but younger looking) . He stands at 5' 10" and weighs around 160 lbs. His frame is tall and skinny but normal for his age. He wears a pair noise canceling headphones around his neck. Covering his torso is a white T shirt with two uneven blue stripes running down the front off to the right (to him) side a little. His legs are covered with jeans that hug his thighs but open up at the bottom for a bell-bottom like look with fading running down the front and back. On his wrist is a fuzzy black wristband/sweatband and he wears black sneakers with stylized red stitching and silver lining. On his shoulder is strapped a black messenger bag with blue inserts.

    Personality: shy, timid, keeps to himself and likes to listen to pop music. Surprisingly stoic and doesn't reveal his feelings easily as well as having a hard time telling others feelings (even when it's oh so blatantly obvious). Underneath this though is a loving, caring person who's deeply troubled by other's opinions. This is all hidden under a layer of depression though. When he thinks he's alone, he sings to make himself feel better. He's really good at singing but gets overly embarrassed when someone overhears him.

    History: Angel was born and raised in Viridian City. As a young child, he was a bright student, often getting A's and B's, but where he excelled was Music and Chorus. As he got older, his love of music and singing grew, often putting him at odds with his dad who want edhim to follow in the family tradition of becoming a pokemon trainer. As his love for music and singing grew, so also did his abilitys. It became apparent by age 12 that he was more talented than most famous singers.

    His dad is an ex-pokemon trainer turned reseacher with professor Oak. Being that his dad is dealing with science, his dad tends to think things through logically and scientifically. He has a lower chance of becoming a pop idol than becoming a gym leader. Things would be easier for him had his mom been there to support him despite his dad, but Angel's mom passed away when he was born, leading to his father being a bit overprotective.

    On the day of his sixteenth birthday though, the sh** hit the fan. On that day, he recieved his acceptance letter from The Lyra Program. Apparently, his dad had sent in an application in his name as a surprise. That was his Dad's gift to him. Professor Oak's gift to him was a Bulbasaur to start his journey. Angel went ballistic. Years of repression had finally caught up with him as he screamed that he didn't want to be a pokemon trainer; he wanted to be a singer. He then proceeded to scream fluently in Italian using every curse word imaginable. After his foreign language rant, he stormed out of the house with his "gifts" after packing his stuff. Still mad, he ran to the one place where he felt at peace, the local Karaoke bar.

    No matter how much he denies it, Angel makes a great pokemon trainer. Years of onhand experience with his dad has led to a unique battle style. Rather than shouting out attacks, he trains his pokemon to respond to changes in the pitch of his voice while he sings during a battle. The change in pitch tells them what to do. This gives him the constant element of surprise as no one he's met has been able to figure out what he's thinking or what he ordered his pokemon to do. However, sometimes it backfires when the pokemon mistakes one tone for another. He's apparently also trained them to know when he's singing for fun and when he's singing to command. This unique battle style combined with the range of tones and notes his voice can hit makes for a very tough battle.

    Starter: Bulbasaur

    Sample Post: Angel walked through the forest, not really caring where he was going to or coming from. He smirked as he saw a river off to the side of the road beyond some bushes. Angel pushed through the bushes and sat on the bank of the river. He reached into his bag and pulled out a single pokeball.

    "You deserve to see this beauty as well" he said lightly tossing it to his side as it opened and revealed a Bulbasaur. The Bulbasaur went to play in a patch of flowers it had spotted.

    Angel once again reached into his bag, this time to turn on his iPod. The music started up slowly at first than picked up. He closed his eyes to try to feel the music more and sang the lyrics to Cascada's "Sk8er Boi" (OOC fact: Cascada did a dance club remix of Avril Lavigne's song "Sk8er Boi". It was sold on the "Perfect Day" album in Europe only). As the lyrics floated heavenly from his mouth pokemon of all shapes and sizes came out, as if to try and hear the voice better.

    When the song finally ended, the pokemon scattered, leaving Angel none the wiser that he had performed as he opened his eyes.

    "ok Bulbasaur, I think we've played around enough for now. Come on, we need to get back on track" he said as the Bulbasaur happily ran to it's master before being sucked back into the pokeball. Angel readjusted the strap on his sholder and picked up his messenger bag before continuing along the way.

    Name: Tommy Kingston

    Gender: Male

    Age: 15

    Appearance: Tommy weighs 154 lbs and stands at 5'7. His brown hair is his natural colour except for the darker shaded brown in some parts of his hair. His dark blue eyes are mischievous and he's sometimes told he has the eyes of a trouble maker. His body is in a well looked after condition, as he likes to keep fit just incase anything important comes up and he must take care of it in a short amount of time. His skin is lightly tanned and he has a small silver pendant around his neck, which has a sapphire coloured charm on the end of it. When it comes to clothes, Tommy loves wearing long sleeved shirts, normally blue or silver coloured and a short sleeved hooded jacket over the top of it. He almost always wears navy jeans with the below the knees of them torn off with a silver stripe going down both legs. To keep all his equipment in, Tommy carries around a one strap bag which is coloured blue and silver to match his clothes. Around his waist he has a silver belt bag which stores his pokeballs.

    Personality: Tommy is the epitome of calm. But only when someone isn't calm with him. If someone even happens to look at him weird, Tommy will call them out and ask them what's up. That is one of his many personality traits. Another is his compassion for Pokémon, even though some will attack him and intend to hurt him. He will not show any sigh of brutality that was the way he was raised by his parents. He believes that Pokémon should be treated the way that people would like to be treated. But enough about that lets talk about his goals and fears. This brings up more goals than there are fears. One of those goals is to become a gym leader. Just being able to test other trainers abilities out each day is enough to make Tommy reach for his dream even more. Sometimes he could come across as quite a stubborn and unloyal person, but that's just the way others judge him. Other than that, Tommy is a pretty calm guy and a great friend. Always one to jump into action when a friend is in need. Tommy loves facing every challenge that comes his way. No matter how difficult or long it is, there is no mountain that he can't climb. Or so he thinks...

    History: Tommy was born in the beautiful town of Twinleaf, which resides within the Sinnoh region. Life was always such a rush for the young boy. His family were hardly around because of their jobs and that made Tommy spend quite a lot of time outside. His first encounter with a pokemon came when he entered the small forest behind his house and he stumbled across an injure Roserade.
    After nursing it back to good health, the two of them parted ways. And even though Tommy didn't know it, the Roserade was very grateful for what Tommy had did for him that day. A few years had gone by and Tommy's family had decided to move to Oreburgh City. It was very different from Twinleaf, but each day Tommy would see a Pokemon trainer coming through the city to challenge the gym leader, Roark.

    Soon after moving, Tommy had set himself a goal. Something that he had wanted to do when he grew older. Befriending pokemon and battling other trainers sure sounded like good fun. But Tommy had bigger plans. He wanted to become a gym leader, much like Roark. He wanted to become someone who people could look up to and inspire to be like.

    Starter: Piplup

    Sample Post: Out in desert a young boy with a zipped up orange jacket with his sleeves rolled down completely, was struggling through the heavy sands. He had his hands in his jacket pockets as the sand hit his goggles pretty intensely. The brunette struggled through the sand. "Why'd this place have to be so far out?" Kai spoke out, but he knew no one was around to answer his question. All of a sudden the wind blew harder then before, Kai started to lose sight. Not that there was anything to look at in the first place. Kai tightened his fist and continued to walk, this time with more force in his steps. It took a good twenty minutes before he even got in view of the lab. "Eureka! I just discovered Atlantis." He said jokingly as he made his way toward the lab. Pulling out the letter that was snug in his left pocket, the wind started to ease up allowing him to read the letter in peace. The letter read Ask for Gonzap and Zhi Kai nodded as put it away again.

    As Kai approached the dark painted building that was built in the middle of no where, he couldn't help but notice four other kids like himself with their Pokémon out.

    "How about we join the party? Come on out guys!"He spoke out softly as he held his two Pokéballs up in the air.

    Two crimson beams projected from the center of the ball as a Charmander and a Buizel appeared from them. Buizel eyed the oddly colored Umbreon. Its not often you see a shiny Pokémon, especially an Umbreon.
    "You must be Zhi, nice to meet ya" Kai said with a smile on his face as he moved his goggle from his eyes to around his neck; before placing his right hand forward to shake her hand. Of course, this was a one time thing only. Kai wanted to be nice for a change. These people looked pretty nice after all and he wasn't going to be the one that ruined the gathering. Charmander and Buizel stayed close to Kai, as if it was a little nervous around other pokemon. ''Hey, don't worry about them Buizel, I'm sure they'll be nice if you are to them'' Kai smiled down at Buizel. After a few moments that seemed like a staring contest, Buizel finally snapped out of it's nervous attitude and walked over to the other pokemon. Being a loyal pokemon, Charmander remained by the side of Kai.

    While the small group of trainers started to get to each other, the cloaked one in the corner did not remove his stare from Kai. ''What's his problem?'' Kai questioned, getting no reply. Without hesitation, Kai stepped over to the boy. ''What you looking at? Surely there's other things beside me to look at right?'' He exclaimed. The boy reached down to his belt and pulled off a pokeball. ''Battle me.'' The boy suggested before throwing off his cloak. Kai was not one to back down from a challenge, so he accepted it instantly. ''Fine. But don't cry when I beat you'' Kai muttered. Charmander walked over and stood infront of Kai, as if he had chosen himself to battle. The boy then opened his pokeball, releasing a powerful white light. When the flash of light had vanished, a powerful Kingler stood facing Charmander. This fight wasn't going to be as easy as Kai thought...

    Name: Sebastian Grant

    Gender: Male

    Age: 16

    Appearance: Sebastian tops of at 5'1". He has scruffy red hair. His lower face is also covered with freckles. He rarely shaves, so he has a constant 5 O'Clock shadow. He wears a black t-shirt and a dark acid wash pair of jeans with a pair of Chuck Taylor All-Stars.

    Personality: Outgoing. He likes to introduce himself to new people and loves making new friends. He is hard on his Pokemon but know the breaking point. He wants himself and his Pokemon to be the best they can.

    History: Sebastian was born and raised in Fuschia City. When he was 7 he was sent to a school in Celadon . Mostly focusing on Pokemon history and behavior. His dream was to be a Pokemon Professor. He would constantly hang around Erika's gym watching battles. When he heard of the Lyra Program he didn't hesitate to join.

    Starter: Squirtile (Murray)

    Sample Post: Sebastian and Murray were walking through Viridian Forest to make their way to Pewter City. All of sudden Murray froze in his steps.

    "Whats wrong?" Seabastian had already gotten a good three feet in front of Murray by now. Murray had no response, he just quickly jerked his head side to side as if he heard something.

    "Squrit, squirtle!" Murray had jumped into a bush. Sebastian quickly ran over. Murray had jumped onto a Pikachu.

    "No! Murray come over here!" the Pikachu was began to charge itself. Sebastian tried frantically to think of what to do 'Oh no, he's gonna get it. What to do? What to do?' these thoughts raced threw Sebastian's mind in a matter of seconds. A rock caught the corner of his eye and he lunged to grab it. He picked it up and threw it all in one motion. As the Pikachu and Murray continued to wrestle the rock flew toward them. Pikachu caught the rock mid-flight and quickly struggled to place Murray in the rock's path. Boing! The rock bounced off Murray's shell and straight back at Sebastian.

    "Sh-." the rock had hit Sebastian in the head before he could finish his sentance. He fell down like a sack of potatoes. Murray pounced off the Pikachu to aid Sebastian almost simultaneously with Sebastian's fall. Murray was lucky too, the Pikachu had just released a thundershock before rushing back into the bushes.

    Alright sorry for the late reaction to these posts.

    For now...

    Accepted:

    Silvercrown: The most lengthy application that has been submitted so far. In all it is quite solid. Your character is believable and you also explain why he acts the way he does. Accepted.

    Z34guy: It is a bit rushed I guess, but it is alright. My only advice is to lengthen your speech. Instead of saying your character is this, this, and that all in one sentence; I say you should maybe split it into two or three. Then maybe explain even more about it. However your application is solid so you without hesitation are Accepted.

    Roxasabridged: Your's is a little, well short. Your sample post is what seals the deal here. It shows me you can put up a lengthy post which also contains quality. However I ask maybe you add a bit more to your character's history and appearance for the sake of other roleplayers. As much as I would like to accept you, I feel that you can do better, so I am going to put you on hold. Please just add a litte bit you your application and you will be accepted. Pending

    PikaPikachu and pokemongarnet: Well both your applications are a bit short. I am looking for a core group for this roleplay and I feel that your application is a little weak. Both of your samples are short and so I am putting you both on Pending.

    One of you asked about exp and levels on pokemon. I believe that this is unnatural and unrealistic really so your pokemon don't physically level up. They just grow emotionally and get more talented in battle the more they fight. As in learning moves, your pokemon naturally learns them over time.

    I will post my bio soon, and also post things about the teachers. If you have questions feel free to send me a message, post it, or post it in the OOC Thread when it is accepted.

    ______________________________________________________

    Okay my application is finished.

    Name: Catherine Kate Florana

    Gender: Female

    Age: 15

    Appearance: Her dirty blonde hair cascades just a few inches past her shoulders. Catherine's hair has inherited a slight curl from her mother. Her bangs fall short of her amber eyes. Her face is smooth and has no real overwhelming features. Her petite figure stands at only a mere five feet three inches and one hundred and three pounds. Despite such a small figure she looks her age. Catherine's small hands are always organized. Her nails are always painted or neat and rounded.

    Her creative nature is expressed through her clothes. Her outfits always have a complex feel to them, and she can probably come up with five different ways to wear one shirt. She favors long-sleeved clothes, for it provides more possibilities, and skirts. Her look is most easily described as preppy, collared shirts are numerous in her closet.

    Personality: Catherine is definitely not quiet, however, she isn't a loudmouth. This teen isn't afraid to speak what is on her mind. Quick to challenge anything she thinks is wrong, Catherine can come across as very resistant and annoying to some. However, this teen hates to make enemies. When meeting new people she takes a backseat and tends to follow rather then lead.

    In battle Catherine is quick to come up with new strategies, except when two or three fail miserably she tends to get desperate. She often goes into battles with strategies and Catherine prefers to come up with battle styles in the moment. Catherine looks at relationships with pokemon as a business. She does not like to get all cuddly with pokemon nor does she enjoy treating them like humans.

    One of the most exasperating things to Catherine is when trainers have their pokemon out too much. She really gets exhausted of the trainers who have their pokemon outside their balls for hours at a time. Many pokemon annoy the fifteen year old, and many trainers believe Catherine is too hard on her partners.

    Catherine inherited her artistic skills from her mom. Pathetic at anything to do with drawing, her art skills are of a different repertoire. She has an eye for fashion. Catherine's mom, a lead designer and owner of Carpe Diem Fashion Clothiers, passed this ability down to her daughter.

    History: She was born in the metropolitan city or Goldenrod. This large city lay in Johto. She was born to her teen mother, who was only sixteen. She grew up under a busy mother and a very caring father. Despite their youth and inexperienced the couple managed to raise their daughter the right way. Catherine's name was the middle name of her mother. The family struck liquid gold when her father's oil company finally hit a major oil field. This provided Catherine's mother to start up a clothing company that quickly made a quality reputation.

    Catherine was raised in Johto until she was eight. From their the young family moved to a much larger house just outside Celadon. Trading one giant city for another, Kate had a hard time adjusting to her new home. She never felt home in Kanto, Johto had left a whole in her heart. In school, Catherine produced top of the line grades. Propelled by her parents, Catherine studied and worked outrageously hard for them. She wasn't naturally smart, just a good student.

    Starter Pokemon: Totodile

    Sample Post: Since I have never posted anything on pokemon community in a long while I will just write something.

    It was easily late afternoon by the time the teen female had woken up, showered and gotten dressed. Catherine was just finishing threading her belt through the last loop when the phone rang. Knowing full well her parents were both at work, they always were, she fumbled towards the receiver.

    "Hello?" Kate replied in routine.

    "Yes!? Kate!? Is your mother there?" The voice shouted into the phone, Catherine moved the device a little further from her ears. The voice was easy to recognize, it was her grandmother.

    "No. She has a meeting in downtown Celadon today can I help you, or take a message?" Catherine laughed to herself. This was her auto response to anyone who called for her mother. It seemed like a miracle if her mother was home when someone was looking for her. "Or you could try her cell phone, but I am pretty sure the meeting started already," the teen added trying to sound helpful.

    "No… I should have known better, she is never home. Does she ever take a day off? This is a beautiful Saturday, a great day to take off. Anyways thanks for your help I will try back later tonight," She finished the two mutually said farewell and hung up.

    Catherine opened up the door of her large home and started down the street. The vivid sun warmed the air it was quite the day. The warm weather felt good on her feet, strapped in flip-flops, they felt free for the first time this year. She continued her way up the street, until she reached a house much like hers. Kate waddled down the pathway to the front door, but before she reached her destination the door flung open. "Finally I have been waiting forever! Kate how can you sleep so long when you are so close to adolescent freedom?" Karly blurted out running to where Catherine was standing.

    "I can sleep because during my "adolescent freedom" I won't be getting much sleep," Kate mocked her friend.

    "Psh. I am so excited I am scheduled to start my journey in a few days. The professor sent me a postcard about a year ago. We have some serious shopping to do today," Karly loudly expressed her thoughts very fast and quite loud.

    "Yah, and a long walk," Catherine again sarcastically teased her friend. "We are going to be standing all day. Where we going anyways?"

    "Well, I convinced my dad to drive us, pretty cool huh!? I need to go buy some new clothes, and some trainer items. I want to be completely ready for my journey. You are coming with me too," Karly was obviously excited for her journey, just like every teen before her.

    Catherine and Karly arrived the Celadon strip mall a little after one. The two girls jumped from the car and rushed into the first few clothing stores. Finally after two hours of standing and watching her friend try on new outfits Catherine was almost done with this tiresome journey. "Come on Kate, one more store!" Karly pointed towards the PokeMart.

    Kate sighed, "Okay…" she followed her friend through the automatic doors. The building was several stories high, with several merchants on each floor. They went to the general store. Karly bought several potions and pokeballs, and they continued to the top floor. The elevator stopped, the doors slid open. Catherine read a nearby sign, "PRODUCTS IN TEST." "Let's go check out the new Pokedex," Kate was somewhat excited to see what the new gadget would look like. Walking at a leisurely pace the two went over to the table.

    An hour passed of dissection on the Pokedex. Checking out all the new features, colors, styles, and programs, the girls finished and ended their shopping trip. Feeling naked, Catherine walked out the store with no bags. However, Karly was hauling loads of packages, from shoes to potions. Kate's phone rang. After a few moments of speaking with her mother, she realized she had to hurry home. " I have to go Karly, sorry," leaving nothing else but a sentence to leave Karly with Kate sped off for home. She started with a fast walk, which turned into a jog, which evolved to a run.

    Catherine hurled the doors open. Running into the kitchen, Kate located her mother. Her mother smiling, she walked from the oven and handed Catherine an already opened letter. The almost trainer removed the packet and scanned the paper. Her heart jumped. The top of the paper read, The Lyra Program. She read the following.

    Dear Soon-to-be Trainer,

    Catherine, we are pleased to announce you have been accepted into The Lyra Program. You may be surprised, or maybe you expected this, but we are overjoyed to tell you that you have proven yourself worthy of being taught in the field of battling. We, like all Kanto trainers, will start in Pallet Town. There you will travel with other Lyra trainers across the land training your pokemon and growing as a trainer and person…

    Kate couldn't believe it. The rest of the letter was a blur to the king. She had applied to The Lyra Program as a dare, as a joke. She had never believed she would be accepted into an elitist program. Sure she had gotten good grades, but that was because the push from her parents. This was unbelieveable…

    I'm finally back and ready to RP! *looks at the other signups* What? They're all male? I think we need a girl in this group!

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Name: Mariko "Ari" Tsukimaru
    Gender: Female
    Age: 16
    Appearance: Ari is exactly five feet tall, weighing somehwere around 94 pounds. From her figure, it's pretty easy to tell how she spends her time--sitting in the dark for hours at a time, too occupied to get up and walk around or even eat or sleep in some cases... This prevents her pale almond-coloured skin from tanning, and cuts down her body mass a bit. You definitely won't find much in the way of muscles on her, nor any of those pleasant curves some girls her age have (Maybe this is more because of the outfit she usually wears?)... And it's a good thing she's built on a relatively small frame, for if she wasn't, she would look more bony than usual... But she is, so she looks more, er... petite, maybe? The good thing is that people more often notice her hair, which is straight, black, and goes down just about to her shoulders. In fluorescent lights though, it looks to be a very dark blue instead... Or they might notice her eyes, which, under normal light, look to be a dark bluish-gray. But when she's in front of a computer or TV screen, her eyes always look more purple for some reason...
    Ari has learned from school not to wear anything "girly" or in warm colours (apparently they don't look as good on her), and that an outfit that looked slightly more business-like was a better way to go. She wears a black T-shirt that has a picture of a Piplup on the front, although you can't usually see the Piplup because Ari almost always wears her favourite jacket over it. This dark blue jacket looks similar to a pea coat except with long sleeves that aren't so big. It's made of a smooth, almost silky material, and is long enough to just about cover her hips. Also Ari wears dark grey pants that have a large side pocket on her left leg, and on her feet are black boots with heels that come up only an inch off the ground (anything higher would hurt her feet). And she still wears her favourite deep blue hat, a cute little one with narrow sky blue stripes across it. Haha, she's had it since she was four and it still fits her. And Ari always wears glasses, ones where you can faintly see bright purple, oval-shaped frames.
    Personality: Ari's world is a virtual one, of frantically typing in things, of codes and zeroes and ones, of text messages and animated sprites, of little virtual pets that battle and change form... and let's not forget the four-pound Pidgey that can still use Fly to carry a trainer all the way to the boondocks! As a result, she looks at life itself and the world around her from the perspective of a character in a video game--perhaps life itself is one big video game. Naturally, she does have a hard time accepting the reality of things... Now aside from that, when Ari is around real people, she tends to be rather reclusive, but if people talk about a subject that interests her... Or when she's in a Pokemon journey... THEN, she'll warm up to people occasionally, although she still won't go into animated talks and rants about the subject. Ari is simply not a public speaker or a huge performer, primarily because talking isn't her thing. She doesn't exactly have stage fright though--she just pretends crowds and such are not there, rather than panic in the spotlight. That spotlight is just as distant and whimsical to her as practically everything else is...
    Yet underneath all this geekiness (hmm, and Ari does have a tendency to use IM abbreviations in writing for fun, or to make references to mathematical things...), there is still a little adventurer, waiting for a chance to come out and express itself. Ari has always been a curious person, known to venture out into new places (or web sites) and try to figure out everything on her own before considering the option of asking someone else. And underneath the fact that she's used to Pokemon Virtual (see History), there's the fact that she's still aware of Pokemon being living creatures, having seen lots of them in the forest and such in her youth. It seems that once she's on her Pokemon journey, those two facts might clash, giving her a very mixed-up opinion of Pokemon...
    Ari does have her dark side though. She likes to cheat to get what she wants, but she does it surreptitiously rather than blatantly--which is why video games are her main cheating bait. Generally, Ari likes to avoid trouble at all costs, which is also why she tries not to be rude to people in public. Also, she has a hard time admitting her errors, apologising, and walking into situations where the odds are against her.
    History: When Ari was a child, she spent a lot of time with Gon, her slightly younger brother. The two of them lived with their parents in Mauville City, Hoenn, but since both Mum and Dad had jobs in the tecchnological field, they didn't spend a lot of time with them. However, Ari and Gon were very close and got along well. The two would frequently venture around or even outside the city, to enjoy the sights or to see Pokemon. Although Ari never thought about being a trainer at that point, she did like Pokemon a little bit. Then they would return home and gather around the TV to play video games or watch TV (especially for cartoon night on Saturday!). Times were good...
    Unfortunately, as the two siblings got older, they spent less and less time with each other, being occupied with either school or their own interests. Once Ari got a computer, she spent quite a bit of time on it. On it, one of the places she frequently went was to a chat site about Pokemon. There, trainers posted things about their Pokemon, and other users talked about their favourite Pokemon or their hopes for the future. Ari wasn't that crazy about going on a Pokemon journey at first, as it seemed to involve too much work and travelling. Not to mention she wouldn't be able to use a computer that often. But Gon went on a Pokemon journey--he became a trainer who specialised in Bug and Fire-type Pokemon (his starter was Chimchar) and strived to enter the Pokemon League and win badges in various regions. Occasionally he called or emailed Ari whenever he got the chance, to let her know how he was doing on his journey. But he also kept badgering Ari to go on a Pokemon journey herself. Whenever Ari heard of this, she rolled her eyes or deleted emails... or just filled all the emails to him with small talk and reasons why she wouldn't go on a Pokemon journey.
    Then Ari discovered a Pokemon RPG site: Pokemon Virtual. In that RPG, she had a Piplup to start her journey out with, and the character she RP'd was a rather attractive young woman with wavy brown hair and a tightly fitting red and black outfit and skin "the colour of caramel", and with a name of Velma. But partway into the RPG, somebody tricked her into trading her Piplup for a Hoppip that only knew Splash. Ohh, how frustrating... Ari got her revenge by following that trickster around for some time, hoping for all hope to hack into his account and steal that Shaymin he somehow had. Fortunately, on a Pokemon forum Ari went on, there was a section about hacking, although it only discussed simple code modification with console-based games... But the main point here is that Ari ended up with a sort of obsession for, well... actually for computers and electronics in general, but embedded inside it was an enthusiasm for hacking and video game cheats. So Ari spent time looking at different files in her computer in an attempt to figure out aspects of how it and certain programs worked. She became vice-president of the computer club in school (she wasn't enough of a leader in general to be president). She... well we certainly could go into a lot of unnecessary detail, couldn't we?
    Meanwhile, on Pokemon Virtual, Ari got attached to Velma and her Pokemon, particularly her level 80 Skitty she often experimented with on there. And the Darkrai she managed to obtain by hacking. And the Palkia she kept duplicating with a particular cheat... (What, is Ari some sort of virtual criminal? I suppose so...) And the Mismagius who knew Curse and Ominous Wind. (Okay, so that one wasn't hacked or cheated. Nor was the Skitty. Buuuuttttt...) And Gon supposedly gave up on all those emails pestering Ari to go on a Pokemon journey. All was fine and dandy for quite a while... that is, until a recent disaster. When Ari visited Pokemon Virtual one day, her computer crashed, and all its data (and her Pokemon Virtual account) was erased. Ari couldn't understand it--she had installed the latest antivirus software--this probably meant that whatever virus crashed it somehow disabled the program... The next day at school, she was so agitated that she ended up stabbing a schoolmate with a pencil, an act that got her expelled from the school. When Ari's parents found out about this... well, Ari didn't wait to figure that out. She immediately fled the city, heading west towards Verdanturf Town. After arriving there, she headed towards the Rusturf Tunnel as if to hide there, but soon enough she happened to run into Professor Birch, who was doing field research on the Whismur there. Their conversation started off with Birch asking why Ari was in this tunnel, and ended with Ari mentioning that she decided she was ready for a Pokemon journey. Upon hearing this, Birch drove Ari back to his lab, where he gave her her first Pokemon: a Treecko.
    When Ari made her way to Oldale Town with her new Treecko (who she had nicknamed Maverick because of his interest in jumping from tree to tree and throwing sticks around like batons), she headed straight for the Pokemon Centre, where she sent an email to Gon about her decision to start a Pokemon journey. But she saw something peculiar in her inbox soon afterward: an invitation to join something called the Lyra Program...
    Starter: Treecko, as mentioned before
    RP Sample: (from another Pokemon RPG)
    Ari nearly laughed out loud when the Ponyta kicked his own trainer, then fainted afterward. It was like something out of a video game. A zombie throws a fireball at the hero, but the hero jumps out of the way and the fireball destroys another zombie. It's fun to defeat enemies, but it's even more fun to watch the enemy destroy itself. In the first case, you can congratulate yourself on pure power; in the second, you can congratulate yourself on cleverness. Ari, being the sort who used to spend hours on the computer at a time and very little time outside, preferred cleverness to strength. Of course, it was debatable whether this victory was caused by Ari and Claudia's cleverness or the thief's stupidity, but it was still a victory right?
    But the police were coming, and Ari was worried. Ari didn't hate the woman for calling the police--in fact, it was a good thing she did, because that stupid thief would be taken care of. But what would happen when the police arrived to see the thief and his Ponyta beaten up so badly? Clearly, they would have allowed nothing more than Ari just snatching the purse back and handing it to the woman, then running away and maybe then calling the police. But Ari didn't--she and Claudia decided to punish them further, which would in a police officer's eyes translate to something along the lines of assault and battery. The circumstances could result in either a thank-you for punishing the thief or some jail time, depending on how the police viewed the situation. Ari was afraid of the latter, not to mention that if the police decided to question her, she was afraid of confiding that she enjoyed beating the thief up in the end. She figured the police to be very good at eliciting the truth from people, and was not about to take a chance with it. Besides, it was more fun to run from a police officer than to endure the pressure of questioning. How would they program questioning into a video game anyway? It was much too complicated to figure out, that's for sure.
    Running out of time, Ari spoke to the woman in a hurried manner.
    "When the police get here, tell them someone rescued your purse and was challenged to a Pokemon battle by the thief. But an accident happened in the battle and his Ponyta got confused and attacked him instead."
    Ari didn't have time to say anything more, nor to correct what she had already said. She started looking for places to hide or run away to.
    "Claudia, return!" Ari called, returning her Skorupi to her Pokeball.
    The sirens were getting louder, time was running out... and the only hiding place Ari found was a manhole at the side of a building. There was no telling where the manhole led to--maybe a stinky sewer, maybe a gang's lair, or maybe just an empty space... but it was the only option Ari had. So she ran towards the edge of the building (it wasn't too far away, not more than twenty metres) and slipped into the manhole, closing the it up with the lid after entering.
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

    My RPG posts tend to be longer than that sample, but that was the best RPG post with Ari I could find... Haha, I actually had to shorten the History a bit because I was afraid it would be too long. What's interesting is that in previous RPG's, Ari was always from Sinnoh, but I changed her residence to Hoenn here because I wanted her to have a Treecko. (I was going to give her a Piplup instead, but someone else already has a Piplup.)

    Sorry my application wasn't very lengthy. I haven't Rp'ed or written a story in a while so I'm a bit rusty. Hopefully, I can get back in the swing of things. Thank you for accepting my character though.

    Name: Sal Daicross

    Gender: Male

    Age: 16

    Appearance: Sal has light brown hair and sky blue eyes. His hair is fairly long and usually messy although not too bad. He stands at 5'9 and is midweight with a mostly athletic build. He usually wears his black jacket with a light gray undershirt. Black leather gloves and Dressy-like pants are also usually found on him as well as a loose belt or two crossing around each other. He wears this as his traveling apparel although he has dress clothes for when he needs them.

    Personality:
    Sal thinks on a completely different level than most other people. He isn't so much more intelligent; he just comprehends things in a different way. While this is good in that he is more intelligent he is lazier and attaches to things easily. His mood often changes from messing around and joking to caring about nothing. He is often quick to act but sometimes lax and forgetful. He is all-in-all pretty nice person, if you get over the sarcasm.

    History: Sal grew up in Lavaridge town where he spent most of his life. His grandparents owned a hot springs there, which is where he worked in his earlier age. Many trainers brought their own Pokémon or eggs to the hot springs and he enjoyed learning about the Pokémon and meeting them.

    His father worked for a fossil excavation team tha operated deep in fiery path. Sal rarely saw his father and when he did there wasn't much conversation between the two. The relationship between Sal's parent was also quite weak. There were arguments all the time. Sal ignored them and eventually got the feeling his dad didn't care about him and his mother. Sal soon decided that if His father didnt care for him, he wouldn't care for his faher.

    His father soon divorced his mother to to their many issues and now resides somewhere else in Hoenn. At the age of 13 his mother became pretty sick and while Sal did his best he couldn't take care of her. She moved to a nursing home while Sal moved to Kanto to live with his uncle. He joined the Lyra Program shorlty after

    Starter: Mudkip

    Sample Post:

    Sal opened his bag and started moving through a few things. Extra clothes, and the like. When he was sure he had everything he needed he zipped it shut and dashed down the stairs.

    "I'm goin' out for a bit, alright?" Sal questioned. "Mhmm" his uncle said without much thought.

    Opening the door Sal felt the cool breeze and jumped the fence in front of the house. He Ran down a ways eventually reaching a road that led through the woods. Slowing to a jog he hiked around a little debris, a rock here or there before reaching a tree that stuck out from the others. Towering above the others as well as being much thicker Sal jumped and climbed his way up until he had an amazing view.

    "Whoa..." Sal proclaimed to himself, "quite a view."

    His attention quickly shifted to a nest of Starly. His amazement was once again interrupted by a ticked off mother. Being thrust from the tree he tried to grasp another branch but this merely slowed his descent as he easily lost his grip. He landed on his back with the wind knocked out of him. He gasped for a breath and rolled onto his side. After a few seconds he returned to his feet he punched the tree in anger but soon calmed down.

    "Well," Sal said shaking it off "I guess it was worth the view."

    After looking at everyone's apps here are the results.

    Ninetales: As pretty much anyone can see (or read) your application is nice and really very interesting. I am looking forward to seeing how you roleplay with such a crazy character. The only real problem I can find is your character is not supposed to have started their journey yet, which includes having their starter. However, it is okay no need to change anything just when the rest of the characters receive their first pokemon just have your character sit out, and think about what it was like for her. Or something along those lines. Accepted.

    Roxasabridged: I am going to have to say your application is still not up to par or long enough. Any complaints you can take up with me through private messages, however, please to not repost anything on the thread. All my decisions are not final, but please speak to me through PMs.

    Gorgormegor: Your app is a bit short but mostly because you haven't completed the whole application. It is missing major parts such as his starter pokemon and his personality. Please edit it if you would like to partake in this roleplay. Pending.

    Wow, I'm so sorry about that it's edited now. I guess that's what I get for being lazy and copy/pasting it from a different roleplay.

    name: Trevor parker

    gender: male

    age: 15

    appearance: he has dark brown hair that slightly covers his eyes which are also brown freckles are splattered across his face, he reaches about 5' 3'' with a weight he doesn't care to disclose. he does not seem affected by any heat so he always is wearing a jacket and pants of dark color. some would call him emo but none are brave enough to say it to his face, it has something to do with his dark gaze...

    personality: Trevor prefers to spend his time alone usually reading or studying something so he is very knowledgeable which means he is usually annoying to most people that meet him.

    History: Trevor was born in petalburg city in the hoenn region just wanting to battle pokemon not caring about knowledge at all but when he was attacked by a pokemon as a boy he became obsessed with learning type matchups an what not the incident also left him afraid of certain grass pokemon hence his starter

    Starter: Torchic

    Sample post: Trevor couldn't wait he had to go get a pokemon from the gym leader Norman. on his way to the gym he fell in some tall grass and was attacked by a wild roselia, the roselia scared him and he didn't know what to do right when he was about to be attacked by the roselia a wild torchic came and defended him "w.w.w…" Trevor stammered and tried to stop the torchic but he was still terrified Trevor quickly ran to meet Norman and cried "I was attacked by a pokemon but then a torchic came to save me you need to go help him" Trevor raced back to the scene with Norman to find that the pokemon had been dispatched by the torchic "hhhhhow?" he asked
    "you need to study your types" Norman answered "so what pokemon do you want Trevor?"
    "can I have that torchic?" so Norman gave Trevor a pokeball to catch the torchic and befriend it

    i understand that is a little short
    ive rpd before just never here so how was that?

    ninjakid230. I would add more detail... alot more detail. The history should be longer, the appearance should be more detailed, and the personality doesn't say well... anything..., but I'm not the creator of this topic, so I have no idea what Vindicated would say, but it doesn't look good from my point of view.

    Lyra Program is still looking for more! Remember your roleplay is very important to me. Your character application can always be changed but what I am really looking for is someone who can put up a "longish" quality post.

    Ninjakid230: Your application is too short, really no substance to it at all. Sorry but I think you would have better luck keeping up in a different roleplay. Sorry. But I am going to have to deny you entry into this roleplay. All complaints please contact me through private messages.

    Gorgor: I am still awaiting a private message response. But would like you to add more to the personality and appearance. Look at either my app or someone like Silvercrown's to get an idea on what to continue talking about on either of those areas. Or if you are uninterested in joining this roleplay just completely ignore this.

    Those who have been accepted... an update.

    I have started and halfway completed the teacher/mentor descriptions. They will be up today or tomorrow.

    Please read everyone's character entry that has been accepted. Read it all, except for maybe the RP sample.

    Finally we will wait most of tomorrow before I consider starting the roleplay. If anyone has any comments, questions, or concerns, feel free to private message me or post on my wall. The OOC Thread should be up soon.

    Thanks Vindicated.

    I've been slowly editing my entry. The personality though will remain as it is for now until I can have more character development.

    Name: Brayden D'Amore

    Gender: Male

    Age: 16

    Appearance: At the first glimpse of Brayden you catch a tan boy with spiky hair. Simply put that's what everyone sees him as. Placing your fingers on his black spiky hair would be simply the most dangerous thing you've ever done. To be honest, his facial features were simple. He was never the one to care about his hair or face, leaving his teeth to be a bit yellow (but not rotten or anything, he just doesn't brush it as well as he should), his big lips a perfect shade of pink. He's very tan, complimenting his brown eyes, and by the age of sixteen he's grown a bit of a mustache. Now his looks were never the most important thing to him, so calling him ugly wouldn't hurt him much.

    Brayden's regular attire is rather simple, simply put. His preference in torso is a simple colored shirt, such as black or gray, placed below a hoodie or something of the sort. He likes to wear shorts, no matter what the weather, since he was born in an extremely cold place. One thing he takes no pride in is his height. Brayden maybe short, and everyone he knows could tell, he even knows himself, but that's not many importance to him.

    Personality: As much as Brayden would deny it, he's a bit of an outcast. He's the one who never really liked to learn and would rather sit down alone, and he just doesn't make much friends, really. His main importance for sure, is studying. Brayden was never the kid into becoming the biggest trainer, he'd rather be taking care of Pokemon. People really question him on his choices, since Bray never really liked Pokemon except taking care of them, since he has a very motherly nature, even if he's a male. He's extremely caring and likes to take care of people; and seems to be a big dad to everyone.

    Brayden is really sweet, and seems to be a bit of a romantic. He doesn't really like battling with Pokemon, and he's just much too nice for any violence. He's the weak one for sure, and will give into anything that hurts him. People claim for him being a sissy, but he really doesn't care what people think about him. He's also pre cautious, he's the person out of your group of friends who isn't willing to do anything scary. In general, he's nice and sweet, but he seems to have several traits that make him unwilling to do some things that would be scary.

    History: Brayden Alexandre D'amore was born under the parents Maria and Kingsley D'Amore. He had been born in the wonderful Goldenrod City, Johto, so naturally he would be a city boy. His parents had always wanted him to be the studious type, but at the same time they had dreams for him going far in becoming a Pokemon Trainer. As much as Brayden didn't agree with wanting him to become a Pokemon Trainer, but he respected what they wanted to do, because after all, he aimed to be the perfect son. So he attempted to give battling a try with his father's several Pokemon, and even if that didn't work, he would still try more.

    Soon enough he got his first sister, when he was seven. People believe this is why he became so motherly and protective. Brayden was the best brother possible, aiming to be an inspiration. Extremely soon later, he got his first Pokemon, a Chikorita. He wasn't into naming it much, but sincerely he loved this Pokemon, and couldn't see it fighting, but he did, and as much as he wasn't the best, he did try. He aimed to follow what his mother and father had set out for him, and he did try his best fighting. Soon enough he got some sort of mail that says he was chosen for a special program. He didn't know why, but he wouldn't argue...

    Starter: Chikorita

    Sample Post: I'm sorry it's not the best, I will try finding something better in my Archive, but for now I have this. I hope it's suffice?

    RP Sample: From Royal's Rise of Good and Evil

    Kyo ran up the large hill that lay in front of him in the darkness of night. He nearly fell down on a couple of occasions where he wasn't able to see the ground under his feet, and didn't know where he was going. He finally got to the top of the hill, and reached the small campsite he had set up just hours ago, and sat down by his large tent, dazed from the night's activities. He sent out vulpix from its pokeball, and used one of the potions he had back in his tent to help it regain some of its health. But what it really needed was rest. So Kyo set it down on a blanket in his tent, and walked back outside. He sent out the other members of his party to congratulate them. "You guys were really great back there, I admire your bravery." said Kyo in a soft voice to his two pokemon. They both responded in a happily but tired form of their cries. "You two must be tired as well, here rest with me inside the tent and we will get some more sleep. We will come back out in a few hours when it's light out and I'll pack everything up." said Kyo as he yawned and gestured the pokemon to follow him. Kyo crept into the tent and lied flat on his back. The pokemon walked in and sat down on a blanket near the other member of their team vulpix. After a few hours of resting,

    Kyo got up from his tent, waking up his pokemon by accident as he tried to get out of the tent. Kyo put all of his potions and other items back into his bag, and then undid the tent and put that in his bag as well. After he checked to make sure he had everything, he and his pokemon headed down the back edge of the hill, right after taking one more look at the amazing view that could only be seen from here. Kyo had a much easier time getting down now, and easily avoided parts of the hill that were to hard to go down. Once they made it to the bottom, Kyo and his pokemon took one last look up at the large hill that lied behind them now, and took off forwards towards the end of this large grassland. They walked peacefully through the large grassland for several minutes, often seeing pokemon off in the distance, but never running off to challenge or capture it, so they remained on the same path for a while.

    Kyo and his party of pokemon, soon came were Kyo assumed was the middle of the grassland, trying to remember, after looking off of the hill, that now lied far behind them. So Kyo and the pokemon sat down, to rest. Kyo pulled some food out of his bag, which he gave to the pokemon, and took none for himself, not felling very hungry at the moment. Kyo's pokemon chomped down on the food, while Kyo looked out at the surrounding area. It looked the same to him, it was if they were in a desert of grass, it seemed endless. Kyo was about to turn his attention back to the pokemon, when he heard a loud buzzing sound coming from an are in the north west of them. A large group of Yanma floated a few feet off the ground, at a moderate pace about twenty yards away. Their wings spun so fast, sometimes you could barely even see them. As the large group of Yanma got closer, he realized that there were a lot more of them then it seemed before, and by this time the pokemon, had stopped eating and were looking as well. They kept coming closer and closer the angle revealing more and more Yanma every second, until they were about four or five yards away when Kyo counted at least twenty five or more. By this time the group of wild pokemon was picking up speed and was heading straight towards them.
    Kyo looked down at his pokemon and new they thought the same thing that they had to get of there. Kyo and his pokemon, quickly got out of their relaxed positions on the grass covered ground, and sprinted in another direction, trying to escape the large group of Yanma. As the wild pokemon got to the spot where Kyo and his pokemon were originally at, they made a sharp turn into Kyo's direction, now going at an even faster speed, and flying higher until they were at about the height of the top of Kyo's head. The wild Yanma kept gaining ground on Kyo and the pokemon, until they were only a few feet away. Kyo had to think fast, so he shouted "Dive" in the form a loud yell, almost a scream. And Kyo and his pokemon dived towards the ground, getting hurt as they hit the hard ground. It was just in time too, the group of wild Yanma whizzed over Kyo and his pokémon's heads at a break neck pace, and continued to fly farther in the same direction, as if nothing had happened.

    One of the Yanma didn't go along with them though, just as they started to fly off into the distance of the grasslands, it broke away from its group and went in the opposite direction, charging down Kyo and his pokemon. "Alright guys, I think we can take just one of them, shouldn't be much of a problem right?" all three of Kyo's pokemon nodded their heads in agreement to Kyo's words. "Alright, vulpix you have an advantage against it, so I'll send you out." Vulpix obeyed its commands, and took a fighting stance in front of Kyo, ready to launch an attack. The Yanma was to fast and launched a sonic boom at vulpix. Vulpix was too late to avoid the attack, and so the sonic boom hit home really hurt vulpix's ears, along with Kyo and the other pokemon, but just not as much. This gave the Yanma an opportunity to attack, so it flied lower to the ground and smashed into vulpix with its tackle attack, sending it flying a good two feet. The wild Yanma, flied back around to attack with another tackle. Vulpix got up just in time and launched an ember at the Yanma. Yanma tried to dodge the attack by going back around again, but still got hit near its right wing when turning back. It took damage, but as it came back around, the continuous beating off its wings put the small fire out. "Alright vulpix, try to send it away using your Roar attack." said Kyo hoping to send the large frightening pokemon away. Before vulpix could fulfill its trainer's commands, it was knocked backwards by another one of vulpix's sonic booms, which almost fainted the small fire pokemon. "Oh no, vulpix your to hurt to battle, return." said Kyo as he returned vulpix back to its pokeball to get some rest. "Alright pidgey looks like your up next, come on out. You both can fly, so you both should be fighting on even terms."

    Pidgey nodded, understanding what its trainer said to it, then flied out in front of its master Kyo to confront the large pokemon that it was about to battle. Yanma took this opportunity to attack, it flied in from the right side in a curve so it could easily come back around, and it attacked pidgey with a sonic boom. Pidgey nearly a escaped the large blast but was then hit as, Yanma slammed into it with a tackle attack. Pidgey fell to the ground hurt, but regained its strength and got back up into the air just as the wild Yanma was coming around a second time. "Alright, try to stop it by using sand attack." Pidgey obeyed its master and used sand attack, however blew the sand away, with its fast beating wings, so the sand attack had no effect. Pidgey didn't have enough time to react, and got hit with another tackle that sent it hurdling back towards its trainer almost fainted. "Don't worry pidgey, you fought a hard battle. Try to get some rest." said Kyo as he returned pidgey to its pokeball to get some well deserved rest.

    Yanma chuckled quietly, as it took down its second opponent, it felt invincible, like nobody could even touch it. Yanma decided that the battle had gone on long enough, and headed towards Kyo to take him out. Kyo tried to get out of the way but Yanma was too fast. But right before Yanma hit, it was stopped by some sort of shell like structure. Turtwig had blocked the tackle in mid air, by jumping up, and turning its back to its foe, the wild Yanma. "Turtwig you want to battle. But I don't think you should, pidgey and vulpix nearly fainted trying to defeat it." Turtwig answered in its own cry, but this time with more enthusiasm and spirit then ever before. "Alright turtwig if this is what you want, then go get that Yanma, and give it all you got." said Kyo bringing some hope into the situation. Turtwig took its battle stance in front of the wild Yanma ready to face off. The wild Yanma sped up, and tried to knock turtwig off its balance with a tackle from the left side. Turtwig used its growl, and hurt the ears of the Yanma, which made it slow down a lot. This gave turtwig enough time to run up and hit Yanma with a tackle attack, which hit right on the mark and sent Yanma flying into the ground a good foot or two away. Turtwig didn't want to give the wild Yanma another chance to get back up in the air, otherwise it would surely lose. So it ran up to the wild Yanma before it could lift its wings and get up, then it launched at it with another tackle attack right to its head, severely damaging the wild Yanma. The Yanma didn't have enough energy to try to get turtwig off of it so it struggled a little bit, but turtwig wouldn't budge. The wild Yanma gave up and lied there dazed and almost fainted. "Go, pokeball." said Kyo as he launched another sphere at the wild Yanma. The Yanma was safely inside the pokeball, now Kyo just wanted to know if it would stay there.
