"A new region has been discovered in the land of Pokémon. Hm? You say you don't know what Pokémon is? Bahahaha! Well, we all can't know of it. Well, hm.. lets start from the beginning. Pokémon are diverse creatures. They are friends, in a time of need, enemies in a time of war, and playmates when you need someone by your side. We, as scholars still have much to discover about this world. Well, that is about all I give you about Pokémon. The rest, you must discover on your own! Bwahahahaha! Oh, before I turn you lose, there are some important things you must know. I am a Professor. I go by the name of Professor Zyloc Reddingfield, you, however, can just call me Prof. Zyloc. This new region of Pokémon is called the Mioas Region. Pokémon from all over the world have gathered here in this beautiful, serene place. The trainers around this region don't kid around, they are tough, and will fight their hearts out. Here, allow me to tell you a story, please.

Long ago, the universe was created by the Omega Pokémon Arceus, to second in his command he created a Pokémon named Mew. They worked to build a stable universe. They could not do it alone. So, they created more Pokémon to help. Important ones such as, Kyogre the god of the sea, it filled the world with water, and Groudoun the Pokémon of continents. It raised large ran masses for humans and Pokémon to live on. Anyway, aside from that, they say that Mew along with its friend Celebi, the master of time noticed great peril. So, they put power into eight shards. The eight shards will be discovered by eight trainers, who are just right for the job. I want to further this research, and see who was appointed. That is why I send people out on journeys. I would send you out, but it appears that I just gave away the last of the Pokémon I owned. Hold on, I have a call.

There are eight shards, for eight trainers. The eight shards each represent something.
Personality traits are represented by them. The shards offer power, but sadly limit the trainer to one type of Pokémon(e.g. Fight). The traits are:

Name: Rini

Age: 12

Gender: Female

Shard/Starter: Skitty

Appearance: Rini has always been called short for her age. She stands at 4 foot 2 inches. She has deep green eyes and a tan complexion. Long black hair pulled into a high ponytail, kahki shorts, and a green spagetti top over a long white sleeved shirt, with a black belt. She has a green and orange backpack she carries around with her, with a star shaped keychain attached to the side of the bag. She usually likes to wear hiking boots, but most of the time you will see her in a simple pair of tennis shoes.

Personality: Rini is usally a cheerful laid back person, though she does have her moments when her temper flares, espically when she's upset. She likes to cover that up by acting angry. She's afraid of storms, and has been since she was little. Rini has always been a little insecure but plans to overcome her own short comings by becoming a trainer to become tougher. She also is prone to bursting into a fit of giggles for no apparent reason, because of something she remembered from earlier. She hates being called short and or confussed for a small child. she also doesn't like spiders, and freezes up when she sees one. She loves warm climates but can't stand being cold. Her favorite hobbies are reading and dancing. She likes rock music and tends to tune out the rest of the world when listening to it.

History: Being an only child you would have thought Rini spoiled, but it was quite the opposite. She was the type always out among nature, and loved the old tire swing out by her mom's garden. Her mother had a per Meowth that Rini always played with. Since then she has strongly wanted to become a trainer. Her father however never came home, and despite this Rini was always certain he was still alive out there somewhere. She grew up in Veridian city, before she moved to Littleroot in Hohen. One year she got word her father had been sighted and went on a small journey to look for him with no luck. But she has never given up hope and one day hopes to either find him or find out what happened to him.

Appearance: Michael is a tall boy, with spiky brown hair.He has muscly legs and strong arms. He wears a blue shirt with a star on it and a picture of a Bulbasaur under the star. He wears dark blue jeans, and mountain bike gloves. He has a necklace with an opal on it around his neck that he got from his mother from the Jhoto region when she was a trainer. He carries a bag slung across one muscular shoulder. He wears a green cap over his spiky hair to try to block the sun out from his fair skin. His eyes are blue, with what looks like a tint of green as well which can be unnerving, especially when he stares at you. . He has pearly white teeth that shine when he speaks which came genetically from his mother. He wears a green ankle band around his skinny ankle and a silver cuff around one wrist. He wears black sunglasses that have a green line through them.

Personality: Michael is a friendly person who likes to help in almost anyway possible. He is also extremely modest, and shrugs off the fact that he saved the Garden Superstore by using a few of the grass-Pokemon there to stop a gang of Pokemon thieves. He is very likable and almost everyone who meets him instantly likes him. He likes to share a joke and is almost always honest towards people, unless they are lying to him, which he doesn't take lightly. He is also extremely mischievous and likes to play pranks at other peoples expense which some times leads to dire consequences as when the garden superstore was accidentally lit on fire. He has a strong drive to win or willpower,whatever you want to call it and when he believes in a cause, he will continue to fight until he is to tired to move.

History: He was born into a family of three, including him. His mother, his father, who ran away when Michael was five, only to come back eight long years later.
He was spoiled and by the time he was seven the family savings accounts were heavily diminished. He was then unable to be spoiled and had to work in the Garden Superstore that was next door to his house. He learned to love Grass Type Pokemon there as they had a lot of them, being a Garden Superstore. He then felt a strong desire to become a Pokemon Trainer in a dream and set out to attempt to start being a trainer at thirteen. After six years work at the superstore, he had a lot of money and decided to give his struggling Mum half of it because she had to spend everything she earned on food, water and the other necessities like the power bill and Pokemon food for her Pokemon ( a flareon and a glaceon). When he was seven he was featured i a newspaper as his mothers son and he had a whole weight put opon his shoulders , because his mother was the legendary 'eon trainer' who was a co- ordinator in Hoenn before she had to retire to look after him he had to live up to expectations.

Appearance: Steel tipped white boots, white gloves with blue horizontal stripes on the wrist, white pants with blue horizontal lines on the ankle, orange t-shirt with horizontal white stripes, orange scarf with white polka dots, a simple orange backpack, orange headband with white pokeball symbol in middle and three smaller ones on each side of the larger one, like so.

History: Landon grew up in Hearthome City with his mother, Nico, and his father, Midas.
Always wanting to help his community, Landon borrowed his father's pokemon and became a trainer in Fantina's gym. Always eager to see who got the second question wrong and end up in his room, Landon met many new faces, many of which he became friends with.
Landon always did everything for Fantina, he even filled in for her one day when her Drifblim got sick.
In this gym, Landon's love for Ghost pokemon emerged, but he also enjoyed the other types.
But all and all, Ghost remained the first choice.
Tired of the hustle and bustle of city life, Landon and his parents moved to the Mioas region, saying goodbye to his friends and Fantina, whom might as well be a friend.

Michael:Still doesn't quite cut it. I'll give you one more chance. It is not only about length, but grammar. You have some punctuation errors, and a few other errors, like run on sentences.
OpengOpeng: What color hair does he have? How tall is he? You only described his clothes. Other than that it is a run on sentence. Your whole appearance is one sentence. Your personality might as well as just be a list of emotions. You just added a few words in your personality. It needs to be bulky. Your history needs to be bulky to. One problem. The whole gym thing, yeah it doesn't work. You would have a lot of experience as a trainer to have be in it, which would you have dominance over the new trainers. And, filling in Fantina? That is unlikely. If her Drifloon got sick, she would appoint someone stronger, and not someone who joined not to long ago. So, yeah fix that up.

Name: Kain Trevan

Gender: Male

Age: 16

Pokemon/Shard: Larvitar (and since he's an egg pokemon can he know dragon dance too please?) *just wnat you to confirm this please*

Appearance: Kain has long (for a guy so they're just barely touching his shoulders) dark blonde hair the sometimes gets in his face (Which annoys him to no end). His height is roughly 6'4 and he weighs 200 pounds. He is slightly muscular but hes not ripped. His eyes are a deep crystal blue. His face is neither gaunt nor fat but a size between. His shoulders are wide and pronounce unless hes sitting in which case he slouches slightly and his shoulders lose their posture. All along and up his left hand and arm (and on his back as well) are scars from the burns he recieved from a Growlithe as a child.

For pants Kain wears black cargo pants with many pockets and a black leather belt. For an undershirt he has a gray long sleeve T-shirt and over that he wears a black trencoat the goes to his heels. The trenchcoat is sleeveless and on the back of it has a ying yang symbol. He wears on his head a hat that you would normally wear in the winter time (like a hat a snowboarder wears) to keep the hair the hair out of his face but if he gets to hot he will take it off. He carries with him a duffel bag in which he keeps his spare clothes sleeping bag and pokeballs. His style of walking is normally well postured but when he's tired he will drag his feet and he looks towards the ground.

Personality: Kain is a very rash and excitable person. He will always choose the first idea that pops into his head and once he does he wont give up unless he completely fails or finds some sort of success. Though usually these dicisions turn out to be the right ones sometimes they can leave Kain in a real jam. Kain is fasinated with most things pokemon but at the same time this too gets him in trouble when he messes with things that he truly doesn't understand.

When it comes to people Kain can be blunt and rude although he doesnt mean to be. Kain is the kind of person who will call and elderly man old man or gramps and not even think about how rude it may come off as. But Kain does give his respect to those who have proven they earned it. Even though Kain has few friends he sticks up for the ones he does have and is unendingly loyal to them. If Kain sees people who are in need or are being opressed he wont even give a second thought to helping them.

History: When Kain was young his father abandoned both Kain and his mother to join the now fully disbanded criminal organization Team Rocket. Kain's mother somehow always found a way to keep Kain and her well fed and relatively happy. Sadly one day Kains mother was fired from her job at Silph Co. and everything fell downhill for Kain and his mom. Eventually Kain's mother went completely bankrupt and the government was almost ready to take his home away.... That's when Kain read in the newspaper about the new exhibit in the Pewter city museum, a giant pearl on loan from some museum in Hoenn.

Most people would think it's hard for a nine year old boy to make it all the way from Saffron to Pewter City and they would be right... but after about 3 days of travel Kain found himself right outside the museum and he was detirmined to make his way inside.After giving up his last few Poke' he got admission into the building and preped himself to steal the 40 pound pearl.Kain decided the only way he could make his mother happy was to steal the giant pearl. He run up the stair case and smashed the glass with his fist has hard as possible and grabbed the giant orb suprized by the weight. He booked it downstairs as fast as he could but sadly it was too late. The last thing Kain heard was a museum guard yell "Growlithe use ember attack".

Kain woke up in a hospital bed with his hand and parts of his back covered in bandages. His mother stood over and yelled at him over and over again telling him it wasn't worth it and that he was and idiot for doing such a thing. A woman named Jenny entered his room and explained to him that even if his intentions were noble he still tried to steal a multimillion dollar item and he must be punished. Kain was told that he would be prohibited from the use of pokemon until the age of sixteen. Kain was devastated but he accepted his fate and was brought back to Saffron with his mother by officer Jenny. A few days after he got home Kains mother was offered a new job in a region just recently discovered so he and his mother moved. He quickly befriended Professor Zyloc and since meeting him has done for him odd jobs for some extra money on the side at the same time preparing for the day he turned 16 and set of on his journey.

[New Age Retro Hippie]

Name: Kevin "Pineapple" Roswell
Age: 14
Gender: Male
Shard/Starter: Chimchar

Appearance: Kevin, who will be referred to as his self-imposed nickname Pineapple from now on, is a tad on the short side. He's in the middle of the weight range, neither eerily thin nor overweight. His skin is a light tan all over, devoid of any blemishes whatsoever such as scars and freckles. Generally there is a light blush upon his cheeks, but that is hard to tell due to the fact he wears a golden mask everywhere that covers his forehead, nose and cheeks. His eyes, as can be seen through the rather large eyeholes, are a nondescript, almost colourless grey. His hair is a rather shocking shade of orange and with a careful mix of grooming and bedhair spikes up freely.

For Pineapple's clothing, it's generally the first things that he pulls out of the drawer leading to… a very strange mix indeed. He always wears his precious mask, which has a glittery effect and a feathery ruffle around the edges. His favourite ensemble includes a short-sleeved forest brown hoodie over a red and blue striped long sleeve shirt, and a pair of bad-fitting jeans held up by a black, studded belt (which he likes only because they're comfortable), and a pair of leather sandals upon his toe-sock-clad feet.

Personality: Weird, annoying, and clingy are often used to describe Pineapple by mere acquaintances and those who have just met him, who do not give him a chance. When you've spent time with this odd boy, however, his traits become rather endearing. He loves to help people out and will often complete menial tasks for those who ask, always with a big smile on his face. He has a habit on nicknaming his friends after fruit, just like he has done to himself. He is a complete motormouth and will often run his own conversations into the ground and talk about completely bizarre subjects. The thing people most love him for is his enjoyment of dancing; he will often break into a humorous little jig for no reason. Among his worse traits is his lack of awareness for personal space, and will often sidle up ridiculously close to someone and make them feel uncomfortable. He has a childish aversion to more adult topics such as sex, and will tell people to be quiet if this is the discussion of the time. He is actually quite insecure: he hates being abandoned or shunned and can't stand being alone.

History: Pineapple was born to normal, happy parents in Mauville City. His father was a cyclist and his mother worked in the game corner. When he was young, only about five or so, his father had a horrible accident on Cycling Path which left him slower in brain function and unable to cycle competitively. He became a pessimist and often shot down any hopeful remarks by anyone, yet was still a caring father. Pineapple's line of thought became the exact opposite of his father's: he became an optimist, determined to make everyone happy.

When he started school, most of his classmates thought he was weird and far too happy. Pineapple became as depressed as a young child can achieve, yet still kept up a happy façade. This was how his entire first year of school went. The next year a boy was transferred to his school, who had odd green hair. The new boy was teased for this, but Pineapple found that this boy was definitely going to benefit from his philosophy. He introduced himself, and on a spur of weirdness, he stated that the new boy's hair looked like a melon. Instead of breaking down like he usually did when teased, the new boy quickly replied that Pineapple's hair reminded him of a pineapple, and thus their nicknaming trend began.

Melon had decided to go on a Pokémon journey at the age of twelve, and though Pineapple had wanted to go his father denied him the chance. So, on the day Melon was to leave, he gave Pineapple a parting gift: An expensive-looking, elegant golden mask as part of an in-joke they had shared. They bid each other farewell… but news came that Melon had died four months after beginning his journey. Pineapple went into shock, and even through the collective efforts of his now friendly classmates he wouldn't stop crying. A year later he had been going through some old home tapes of him and his late friend, and remembered his happy policy. Moping wasn't going to do anything good! In Melon's memory, he decided to take on a journey so that his friend could spiritually finish his own cut-short one, but Hoenn wasn't going to allow anyone to register for a year. Six months later he heard of the Mioas region, and decided to complete Melon's journey there…
