The Monotype Challenge

As far as I know there's nothing about this in the OP. In my Abra solo run I genned its least powerful egg move in (Knock Off for Gen 4 I believe). It's what I would do in this situation. I looked Ralts up and it has no damaging egg moves (making it even more annoying), but I'd gen in Will-O-Wisp because you could defeat a Poochyena with it, the only thing you have to do is keep your Ralts alive.
I don't know if this is allowed either, so if you want to get on with your challenge and be sure I'd guess you could PM the OP?

Thanks for the response. What I'll probably do is get on with my Silver, and I'll PM Necrum if he hasn't said anything by the time I beat Jasmine. Speaking of which...

I apologize for the long absence but I had no internet for almost a year now. Anyway on to the update. Soulsilver version I finally took on Red. Venusaur was no match for my Venomoth, Charizard lost to Qwilfish. Blastoise went down to my Vileplume, Lapras was taken down by Gengar, Pikachu was short circuited by Weezing, and Snorlax lost it's fight to Crobat. Now moving on to a very long update on Alpha Sapphire.

-Chose Mudkip as my starter
-Once I received my Pokéballs I caught a Wurmple
-Got Wurmple to evolve into Cascoon
-Went to Rustboro City, by this time Cascoon had evolved into Dustox
-Fought the trainers on Route 116
-Defeated Jr. trainers at Rustboro Gym
-Bought every healing item I could affored
-Fought Roxanne and narrowly defeated her with a constant barrage of Confusion
-Rescued Peeko at route 116
-Went to Dewford Island
-Entered the Cave to the north and caught a Zubat
-Got Old Rod from Fisherman
-Caught a Tentacool by fishing
-Level my team to lvl 18
-Defeated Brawly without any trouble

-Destroyed Team Aqua at the Mueseum

-Defeated trainers on Route 120 while looking for the Devon Scope
-Once I had the scope I went back to Fortree City and took on the Gym
-Defeated Winona: Took her Skarmory down with Weezing (taught Incinerate via TM), Swellow with Grimer (taught Rock Tomb via TM), Pelliper with Tentacruel, and Altaria with Crobat
-Went to Lillycove City where I fought May
-Defeated her Sceptile with Grimer, Her Wailord with Vileplume, Her Magcargo with Tentacruel, and her Swellow with Crobat
-Made my way to Mt. Pyre and am fighting the trainers there

Log 1:

Started by choosing Froakie, named him Euron (The Crow's Eye), beat that peasant Shauna and her fire fox. Gave the letter to mom, who thought it was a love letter, now that was weird, it's father dead or something...
Anyhow, went to raid Santalune Forest with my new friends, the peasant, the weak rival, the little boy and the Samba guy, we robed the children and beat up their pokemens, did the same to the ones just outside the forest.
Arrived at Santalune City and went to the gym, and ran rough shot all over their bugs with Euron, I do believe he likes to destroy other's pokemon and take their money.

Continued where I left off, went to route 4, didn't fight all the trainers, just enough for Euron to be at level 16 and evolve.
Obliterate the professor and choose a bulbassaur, although it doesn't really matter, since the kanto starters aren't dark type. Continue on to route 5 and battled Samba guy, easy enough fight, his corphish can be a pain though if it gets to many swords dances up.
Tried to catch a scraggy wit the honey litte boy gave me but was unsuccessful as the five of them ended up beating Euron up. So I pressed on to route 6 and caught an oddish with sweet scent, bought super potions and tried again, successfully this time, a male scraggy joins the clan, named him Birdie. Got the pokeflute and Birdie kicked snorlax tp next week, also went back to route 5 and trained Birdie. Now to continue through route 7 and on to Connecting Cave.

Went to connecting cave and down to Ambrette Town, caught an Absol on the way, named him Doom but ended up bxing him. Went to route 9 and caught a Sandile, a female one, so I named her Mz Ruby (from Sly Cooper series).
Glitering cave was a breeze with Euron and Birdie cleaning up most of the pokemon and team flare members, with Mz Ruby helping too. After saving the scientist went back to route 8 and caught an Inkay, named her Cruella. Went o Cillage City, trained a bit on route 10, then challenged the gym, which was f*cking tough, I don't know why but this gym is always a pain. In the end Euron defeated Grant's Tyrunt with a Water Pulse.

So, after battling Grant, I went to route 10, beat the team flare members easily, defeated the Lucarios with Cruella, after they set up she used Topsy-Turvy and they were done.
This was the easy part, now the F****ing Reflection Cave was another story, the defeats I got because of Sawk, Throh and Hawlucha and their bulky asses wasn't funny, I had to go train at the battle chateau, after two hours I got through it. The good thing was that at the very end Mz Ruby evolved, yei!
Then the battle against the rival was easy enough, specially when she only used bite against Birdie with her Quilladin, and I used Poison Jab, which I bought at Shalour City. The gym was not as difficult as I expected, but that was normal, since all my pokemon were in their level 30 or almost when I was done with the reflection cave, f****ing cave...
Cruella defeated Korrina, as she also evolved, though I missed the first level because my 3DS wasn't upside down, but I got it at level 31, so all worked out. Then got surf, beat all trainers at route 12 and got fly.

So, ran through Coumarine gym wit Birdie, using poison jab. The gym battle was easy, if a bit long as he potions up and all that jazz.
Also cleared the power plant, in the second to last battle Euron evolved to Greninja, the leader of our dark type voyage.
Lumiose gym wasn't that hard, almost solo'd it with Mz Ruby, dig everywhereeee, except emolga, I really hate emolgas... But Mz Ruby also evolved, and Birdie to, in the battle with Clemont. Then went to route 14, defeated Serena and caught a Skorupi, named her Kalros.

Started by going through the rest of route 14, not much of a problem, defeated all the trainers and got up to Laverre City. Went to the gym, defeated the trainers, but got completely and utterly destroyed by Valerie. So training. Kalros evolved to Drapion and made everything tat much easier. Swords Dancing and poison jabbing left and right.
Then the pokeball factory, nothing out of the ordinary, my team was all level 40ish, so it was rather easy. Then went to route 15, tried to catch a murkrow, no luck so I went up to Dendimille Town, picked up my oddish from the box, used sweet scence and voila! Caught a level 18 female Murkrow, named her Betty. No more training!

So, I helped the Abomasnow in the Frost Cavern, went to Anistar City, defeated Serena and the gym. Then went back to Lumiose, deafeated Lysandre, then again at flare's other hideout, and then again, then he went ape sh*t and tried to nuke me.
Then returned to Anistar city, found a dusk stone inside terminus cave, Betty evolved, defeated the professor and my friends in route 19.
Went to Snowbelle Town, found Wulfric in the Pokemon Village, then beat his ass, mainly with Cruella as she learned superpower.
Now I'm ready to Victory Road!

Made my way through the victory road and defeated Serena, went back to the route north of Ambrette town and found a heart scale, went to the move re-learner and taugh Kalros knock off. Got to the pokemon league without to much trouble.
The elite four was a bit of a challenge as my pokemon were right on par. First the fire lady, then the knight, then the old dragon master and the last was the cook.
The champion was the easiest, her hawlucha couldn't do anything to Kalros so I got three Swords Dances up and swept through her team.

Pokemon FireRed Omega Poison Monotype

Log 1:

I started in Pallet town and chose Magby as my temporary starter until I catch my first Poison-type and train it to Lv. 5. My rival chose Elekid as his starter, leaving Smoochum left to rot.
After delivering Oak's Parcel and getting my PokeBalls, I go out to Route 1 and catch a Nidoran F and named it Penny. It was a Quirky nature and knew Scratch and Growl.
While grinding on Route 1, I ran into a Nidoran M and caught it and named it Nickel. It was a Rash nature and knew Peck and Leer.
After a little grinding, both to level 7, I went ahead into Viridian Forest to get some more encounters. I caught a Hardy Oddish which I named Shako and it knew Absorb. I caught a Lax Venonat which I named Herald and it knew Tackle, Disable, and Foresight.
After grinding everyone to level 10, I entered the Viridian Forest with no trouble.
When I arrived in Pewter City, I trained everyone to level 16 (except for Herald due to lack of good grinding mons for it and it's lack of usefulness in the gym) in prep for the gym
I challenged the gym and easily defeated Brock and ended the gym with this team:

Update on my mono Poison Alpha Sapphire run
-Got through Mt. Pyre and upon defeating Admin Matt my Grimer Evolved into Muk
-I then backtracked to Slateport to witness the theft of the Submarine
-Went to Dewford to get the Sludge Bomb TM
-Battled my way through the Team Aqua hideout including finding the Master Ball
-Beat Admin Matt yet again
-Went to Mossdeep City where I trained my team and won against Liza and Tate, it was a close battle but Vileplume and Tentacruel really won the day
-Upon receiving Dive went to Sea Mauville and got the Ice Beam TM
-Went to Undersea cavern and found the Earthquake TM
-Defeated Archie's Muk with Seviper (recently taught Earthquake), Crobat with my Tentacruel (having been taught Ice Beam), Mightyena with Weezing, and Mega Sharpedo with Vileplume
-Made tracks to Sootopolis City and made my way to the Cave of Origins
-Once inside found Kyogre and used the Masterball to end that fight
-Trained to challenge Wallace and beat his Seaking with my Weezing , his Luvdisc with my Crobat, his Sealeo with my Muk (having learned Brick Break), his Whiscash and Milotic with Vileplume (just kept draining Milotic though Recover made that take awhile)
-Went to get the Thunderbolt TM
-Got to Ever Grande City and started through Victory Road
-While in Victory Road Found Flamethrower (taught to Weezing) and X-Scissor (taught to Seviper)
-Took on Wally: his Magneton was beaten by Seviper's Earthquake, Delcatty fell to Muk's Brick Break, Roselia fell to my Crobat's Aerial Ace, Altaria was beaten by Tentacruel's Ice Beam, and Gallade fell to a combo of Crobat, Tentacruel and Vileplume
-Got to The Pokémon League headquarters and am now training for League

Current team: lvl 47 Crobat with Poison Fang, Steel Wing, Aerial Ace, and Bite. Lvl 43 Seviper with Dragon Tail, Sludge Bomb, Earthquake, and X-Scissor. Lvl 43 Muk with Rock Tomb, Brick Break, Strength, and Gunk Shot. Lvl 43 Tentacruel with Surf, Ice Beam, Sludge Bomb, and Dazzling Gleam. Lvl 43 Weezing with Shadow Ball, Flamethrower, Thunderbolt, and Sludge Bomb. Lvl 44 Vileplume with Cut, Giga Drain, Sludge Bomb, and Dazzling Gleam.

The mid-term exams were coming up, so I took a break for a while. Nibbled enough time to beat Lance, though.

Single Heartgold Normal challenge 3rd update:
-Got to dragon's den and got the 8th badge
-Traversed through Dark Cave
-Got the Master ball from Prof.Elm
-Defeated the Kimono girls and got the clear bell
-Climbed bell tower and caught Ho-oh
-Released Ho-oh(I don't need it X3)
-Went to route 27 and 26
-Climbed up to Indigo plateau
-Defeated Rival in victory road
-Defeated Will
-Defeated Koga
-Defeated Bruno
-Defeated Karen
-Defeated Lance

So, I defeated Lance.
I looked up on the other challenges and looks like I defeated Lance a bit too early. It was hard, since my highest leveled pokemon in my party
when I started battling will was 40 (Takori) and the lowest was 33 (Kentaros)
And whoosh, Lance uses 6 dragons, all of them leveled way over 45.
Still, Lance was easy. At least, easier than Will.
Bruno fell into the Attract+Focus Punch combo a lot easier than expected.
Koga and Karen was demolished by level 33 Tauros, whose attack got maxed with Anger Point.
Actually, Tauros 1HKO'd 4 of Lance's pokemon with Anger Point+Take Down. It included his lv 49 Dragonites.

Taking a break from Platinum to start White

Started game, called myself something innapropriate. chose tepig beat cheren and bianca
went onwards, beat N easily with Bacon the tepig

got to Striaton City

Normally this is easy with the elemental monkey opposite theirs, not the case in a monotype challenge. lillipup was outspeeding and annoying me with bite flinches and i eventually took it down, then panpour set up 2 work ups while i tail whipped then tackled. lived a water gun and tackled again. before a second water gun finished me even if i had used a potion i wouldve died

Trained up to level 15, learned flame charge

VS Cress round 2
Flame charge let me outspeed both his pokes so lillipup was a clean 2HKO. then panpour again set up 2 work ups while i tail whipped and tackled, tackled again and lived a water gun, he healed up so i took the opportunity to hit him with a Blaze backed Flame Charge for a heavy amount of damage before a second Flame Charge finished him.

went onwards to nacrene city. beat plasma grunts on the way, Bacon evolved into Pignite, learned arm thrust. saved at the entrance to pinwheel forest. currently trying to find a pansear in the shaking grass (5% my butt)
