    Has anyone noticed that Staraptor and Lucario have been shown alot in the anime?

    Most people in the games use them (i did) so its most likely done to reflect that.

    Most overrated is Gyarados, its cool and everything but it appears every time a body of water appears.
     
    i say crobat, kingler, pikachu, and kingler are VERY Overrated. they are everywhere in the Anime.
     
    Most overrated pokemon? Just about EVERY legendery pokemon.
     
    Pikachu, Piplup (who seems to have a stranglehold on the cameraman), Lucario (oh dear rainbow Arceus), Charizard (yeah, we get it. The heart of the volcano itself. Give it a rest already), every single legendary and any pokemon played as the big bad one too many times (Steelix and Gyarados come to mind).

    To a slightly lesser extent is Staraptor (well I haven't seen it as much. Maybe I'm not paying enough attention), and then we have the fan favorites of Eevee, Mudkip, Gardevoir...yeah. Ironically, we don't see those as much as the ones I listed above.
     
    Mudkip is one of the most overrated ones.

    Pikachu is the series' icon. Of course he has a lot of screen time.

    Some Legendary Pokémons tend to go a little overboard with their powers.
     
    Ash's Pikachu of course.I just don't see how it could be THAT powerful
     
    I don't see why Ash's Pikachu is "overrated." It probably is one of the Pokemon with the most experience battling. Caterpie fits the bill quite nicely though.
     
    I say some of the legendaries are a bit overrated along with Ash's Charizard...it is time for a new fire type hero...*hint hint : Infernape perhaps?*
     
    The term overrated is thrown around too much these days, i mean take Staraptor, he is see no more or less than Pidgeotto, Noctowl and Tailow, because remember Ash HAS to have the regions main Flying type otherwise it would be impossible for them to find the random Pokémon of the day thats gone missing/ been kidnapped by TRio, as for Lucario i guess he could be classed as overrated, but he has a very big fan base and TV is all about ratings, plus you would have been kidding yourself if you didn't think he would be in the 3rd Gym episodes and the Iron Island episodes, and finally Pikachu, i feel it's unfair to class Pikachu as overrated, Nintendo practically rested the weight of the entire Pokémon franchise on him when it first started and even though it's slowly been taken off of him, he'll still be forced to carry a large chunk of it for the rest of his days, and be unfairly labeled overrated because Nintendo didn't think that (at the time) such a unique series could hold itself without a mascot (which to be honest i think it could).
     
    Obviously, Pikachu. If we're talking about just the anime, then Pikachu, Charizard, Squirtle, Bulbasaur, Mudkip, Blaziken, and a few others I'm most likely missing.

    Anyway, I think the most overated Pokemon might just be Pikachu. For pete's sake, even people who don't know squat about Pokemon know what Pikachu is. xP

    I think that's a good thing.

    I also have to say catepie. My God, Ash's Catapie took out Ekans and Weezling(sp?)!
