Nickname: iRapeUrApe
Reason: Tentacruel is the best counter to most competitive Infernape sets.

Pokemon: Espeon (Female)
Nickname: Lily
Reason: Well, this name reminds me of color of the Espeon, simple and I love that name... So passionate ^^
 
I like the name Lily on anything but i don't really like espeon but that's beside the point i think the name is quite fitting and deserves an 8 out of 10

Pokemon: Totodile family
Nickname: WaterBlast
Reason: I gave it this nickname when i first got silver and it just makes me think about when i was younger and playing pokemon so the name kinda just stuck for nostalgic reasons
 
Weird, but I liked it 8/10.

Pokémon: Zigzagoon
Nickname: Brownie
Reason: I think I was thinking about chocolate when I caught it. Also, Zigzagoon is brown.
 
Good reason, name and food. 8.5/10

How 'bout:
Espeon
Nickname: Mauve
Well... Yeah.

Absol
Nickname: YiYa
Its face is... like the Yin/Yang symbol.

Short, sweet and to the point.
 
Mauve: 7/10 because naming a Pokémon after its color isn't exactly original, but I like how you called it something more original than "Pink" or "Purple".

YiYa: 8/10 because it's a nice way of looking at it (I never thought of Absol as a yin-yang), but it's hard to pronounce, and I dislike names with capitals in the middle.

Pokémon: Gyarados (shiny)
Nickname: Hydraque [hi-DRAW-kay]
Reason: "Hydr-" from Hydro, "Hydra-" from the multi-headed serpent monster, "-draque" from the Latin word for dragon, and "-aque" from aqua. It all fits together like a puzzle!

Pokémon: Cyndaquil (evolved later into Quilava and Typhlosion)
Nickname: Helios [HEE-lee-os]
Reason: I wanted to call it something related to fire, but "Blaze", "Flame", and "Burn" seemed way too unoriginal.

Pokémon: Pidgey (evolved later into Pidgeotto and Pidgeot)
Nickname: Caelos [SEE-lus]
Reason: From caelum, Latin for sky.

And how could I forget...?
Pokémon: Mudkip (evolved later into Marshtomp and Swampert)
Nickname: (brace yourself) Whicker [WIK-er]
Reason: *sigh* Whicker was originally to be named Whacker. This was because at the time, when I knew little about Pokémon, I thought a cool attack for Mudkip would be extending its whiskers/gills and... well, whacking the opponet with them. (¬_¬) I then decided to combine that with "whisker" to form Whicker.
 
Well...

Hydraque: One of the most original names I have seen. 8/10
Helios: Same as above. 9/10
Whicker: I laughed a little bit after reading that story. 7/10

Pokémon: Rayquaza
Nickname: Leviathan
Reason: This happens when you watch too much Yu-Gi-Oh! and play too much Final Fantasy.
 
I'm cool with nicknames and all but I really hope there's a better name rater in black and white who changes the name if "you" dont like it, instead of what he likes.
 
@ s_a_lpoke~ I called my Cyndaquil Helios too~ =D

Well, my second Cyndaquil anyway. My first pokemon in SS, Cyndaquil, I named Calcifer after the fire demon in Howl's Moving Castle.

I called my Lapras Undine after the water nymphs.

xD And I called my flying Pikachu Flychu. Had to be able to distinguish it.
 
cyndaquil: 8/10 Nice name, very fitting
Lapras: 5/10 Undine is an ugly name
Pikachu 7/10 Nice idea.

Pokemon: Numel
Nickname: Quite
Reason: I was thinking of its 4th gen ability, simple. and i thought of "Its quite simple"

Pokemon: Geodude
Nickname: GeGeGe
Reason: I was thinking of the first two letters, and the manga GeGeGe no Kitaro

Pokemon: Monferno
Nickname: Yggfryyd
Reasone: none much, its a cool name.
 
Numel: Lame pun 5/10

Geodude: 5/10

Monferno: A very weird name 6/10

Pokémon: Female Dratini.
Nickname: Valentine.
Reason: Every time I tried to catch a Dratini, it ran away. When I finally caught one, I was thinking about the word "valiente" (brave) because she didn't run away so I named her Valentine.

I for one think this name is perfect and I love how you incorporated valiente into a girls name by calling her valentine so yh i really like it Im tempted to go and catch one and call it just that.

name:Riley
reason:A long time ago when I got diamond and I went to Iron island and helped the trainer there he gave me an egg with my trusted partner inside and I just happened to name him after the trainer who I got him from in iron island.........:Riley and riley has now been through diamond,platinum and HG and is a very sentimental partner for me now.

Reason: I only named her like that because I hate reggaeton and she is (was?) a reggaeton singer.
 
Hmmm... I'll give you 5+. Does not match that much.

Pokemon: Absol
Gender: Male
Name: Jared
Reason: I think this name matches Absol. Reminds me of Jared Leto, who I like very much. As a vocalyst of 30 Secs To Mars and as an actor.
 
Bleh, I don't know why but I don't usually like seeing actual names on pokemon. And Jared doesn't exactly scream pokemon of natural disasters. 6/10

Pokemon: Umbreon
name: Blackmagic
reason: because on Colosseum I had a Espeon named Mindbender and I thought Blackmagic was a cool name, and it went with Mindbendder
