I feel sorry for Jiraiya, but i think the frog manage to escape as the Nagato version of pain said "he got away" but i got to admit, I respect Jiraiya more this chapter for those last of words of his, ('The Tale of Uzumaki Naruto' ...Perfect) that there is brilliant. Hopefully we will see Sasuke and Itachi fight. :D

Your right, it never occurred to me about the elder mama frog, as the plot didn't make much sense from the translation, and I notice there was a plot skip between pages 11 and 12, but looking back, i think what happen was, before Jiriaya got slaughtered at the end of 381, he send the other to tsunadi with the pain they just killed, and then later Jiriaya send the papa one with the special code on its back revealing the identity.

I too thought of that when I read that page!! I hope that this means that there is still a chance that Jiraiya is alive!! I really hope Pein is wrong and Jiraiya did escape and survive!!

The only chance I see with Jiraiya surviving, is that someone *cough*Tsunade*cough* is going to save him from drowning? If somebody doesn't save Jiraiya, his chances of survival are pretty slim, especially with 5 pikes stabbed at his back, sad to say. :(
