The New or the Old episodes?

What was the better era for it?

The good oldies from Kanto, or the fresh newbies from Sinnoh?

I thinks the old ones are better.
The make ash look less then a n00b even if he was,
the new ones make him look like a big n00b even if he traveled through 3 regions already.
And the ideas are better. Way better than the new ones.

Old>New. Misty>Dawn. Yeah, the show declined greatly. It was actually watchable at first. Now all the battles are fixed. Just check out Ash's battle with the Dome Ace on Youtube. FIXED...

Old ones. Back when everyone didn't get offended by everything and when you didn't have to fix the lines and when battles where actually,you know ,BATTLES. I barely see any good action these days.

I enjoyed Hoenn and Battle Frontier but the few D/P episodes I've watched I can't stand. It's always Ash and Dawn arguing constantly. Then getting over it to only argue some more.

Polls about the Pokemon anime go to Pokemon TV Show and Movies, so I moved it. ^_^;; It didn't look like there were topics like this, but if there are, forgive me.

Personally, I'm a fan of the older episodes. But, then again, I haven't really watched any episodes past maybe halfway though Hoenn... I hear the newest ones are getting better, but I don't have a way to watch them right now. :/

In terms of setting, I like the classics. However, in terms of writing, I got to go with the newer, as they're more Westernized. Not saying it's better, but more complying with fan-service. Can't complain there.

Well. AG was my favorite season of all. After that I love Kanto. I don't like DP really at all, so I can't say the new episodes are better.

So I just voted for old episodes. =] I miss Kasumi..and Haruka. D:

Hmmm I'm not sure. I really like the old one's what with Ash being funny because he was so stupid and the Misty and Ash arguments. Plus the fillers were actually kind of interesting. But I LOVE contests and the fact that Ash doesn't get all the screen time now and that Ash's rival keeps turning up, unlike in Kanto. And Team Rocket isn't always getting blasted off by Ash.

Do ya know how much 4Kids edited back then? They actually edited out a MATCH STICK. LOL. And the Kanto battles weren't that great, the only good gym battles were Pikachu vs Raichu and Charizard vs Magmar. The rest he was pitied and given a badge.

Hmm...I'm undecided. I really need to see the whole of D/P before I can say whether its better or worse.

I don't know. I thought the Earth Badge one had a good start, until the bizarre editing (the Pidgeotto to Rhydon shot -- What the?)/the yellow rat being its usual deus ex machina self wrecked it. So, I can't say there was pity in that one.

As for the rest of D/P, I have to go with you, as I'm not sure what to make of it yet.

i agree 100% yeah the battle are better, but good 1ns only happen like 1nce every 10 episodes and all the other episode are soposed to be funny but utterly fail and being funny..

I didn't like the Earth badge battle much because it was Team Rocket doing the battling. That just makes it obvious who will win even if they do have strong Pokemon :\ But it had to be someone other than Giovanni otherwise Team Rocket wouldn't even bother with Ash anymore if Giovanni lost. I don't know. I just like to think that if it was Giovanni that was battling then Ash would have lost. I can't rememeber the episode much but Ash's Kanto team winning against a Machamp, Kingler and Rhydon seems unrealistic.

I don't get what the hate for Hikari is about. I've had so many people mindlessly thrust that Kasumi is better than Hikari in their post. But why? Honestly, I think Kasumi was a lost romantic with an attitude problem, Haruka was simply "a cry-baby" while Hikari seems more determined and eager to learn, whipping out that adorable pink Pokedex whenever she sees a Pokemon, much like what Satoshi did in the first season. I swear I don't even know if Satoshi has his Pokedex with him at all anymore ;_;

I didn't like the conclusion as the Rockets were winning. Truthfully, it speaks how Giovanni-phobic the writers are. I wanted the big Ash/Giovanni match, waited for it, but I understood why they went another tack. After all, our trio has been stalking Ash, so why not have them fight for the badge in a Team Rocket-controlled Gym?

Besides, it did prove how Jessie could be a decent GL, if she wanted to. It doesn't matter, anyway. Sighs.

As for the Hikari hate: With me, I like her in the writing approach. I think it's refreshing to have a real girl, but in a character empathy approach, she annoys me. And PUSA doesn't help matters with revising her character at times.

And, yes, Satoshi still uses his Pokedex in Sinnoh, at least, in the early episodes. Since I haven't watched the recent fare, I can't inform you, either way.
