Today's question:
Do you think the video to "Two Perfect Girls"/Takeshi no Paradaisu" did the song justice? How would you have made the video?
Here's a script I wrote that outlines what MY version of the "Two Perfect Girls" video would look like:
[piano chord] (played by a girl offscreen)
A one woman man's what I wanna be....-headshot of Brock in a spotlight (you only see his upper half); he says the line from this position.
[piano chord]Stay by her side SO faithfully...-Brock walks over and lovingly puts his arm around a sillhouette of a girl
[piano chord]I would if I could, but it's just no good!-Brock is now in a thoughtful position
[piano chord]Cause there's two perfect girls for me-hee... - The "lights" turn on and we notice Brock has an acoustic guitar--not to mention a whole band behind him! The music picks up and he begins strumming on said guitar as he laughs and says "All right!", continues to strum on guitar during the chorus and "Oh yeah..." part
Officer Jenny, can't you see?-shot of Officer Jenny
You can lock me up and throw away the key!-Jenny slams a cell door (with Brock wearing a jailbird costume inside--and he still has the guitar!), and throws the key in the trash as she walks down the hall
Jenny...if lovin' you's a crime-show a shot of a animated heart (with arms and legs) running from a bunch of police cars
Then sentence me now-shot of Brock singing
and I'll do the time!-shot of Brock singing from behind bars--and still playing guitar!
My uniformed beauty is simply the best!-shot of Officer Jenny
Got my heart under house arrest!-shot of the animated heart from earlier in the jail cell
But before that cop makes me her boy,-Brock leans foward to kiss Officer Jenny
I'm head over heels... -Brock does a backflip, mid-flip the screen stops and the backup singers (Ash, Misty, and some other characters) enter the scene and sing "he's head over heels"
I'm head over heels for a nurse named Joy...-Brock completes the backflip in front of Nurse Joy...who is conveinently holding Brock's guitar, he takes it from her and reappears with his band, strumming away on the chorus.
Nurse Joy, won't you please?-shot of Nurse Joy
Cure me of this bad disease? Brock's face turns green, and he clutches his stomach
Oh, Joy, the diagnosis please,-show Brock in a hospital bed hooked to an EKG--the "heartbeat" is pulsing to the beat of the song. (and the guitar's right by him--are you beginning to detect a pattern here?)
When I see your face,-shot of Nurse Joy's face
my knees get weak!-We watch as Brock's legs turn all rubbery
Well, I'm burnin' up-flames erupt all over Brock
I got the fever,-we see a thermometer in Brock's mouth about to "explode" from his supposed fever
She's my perfect nurse and I'll never leave her!
Her bedside manner has healed so many, Brock saunters up to Nurse Joy (guitar in hand, and snuggles close to her)
But why am I in love...-Brock studies two pictures--the backup singers pipe in with "why's he so in love?"
Why am I in love with Officer Jenny... Brock holds the Officer Jenny picture for a few seconds--it turns into the guitar and Brock reappears with the band for the chorus.
When the dance break starts, we see Pikachu (or Ash) playing the saxophone solo as Officer Jenny and Nurse Joy groove to the song, Brock strumming away all the while...he leans back really far on the high note.
For the bridge he's looking back and forth on the two pictures and acting VERY frustrated!
He's strumming away on the third verse, only pausing to point at the pictures on It's time for eeny-meeny, miney-moe...
For the But wait a second... (wait a second) Wait a second! (come on and wait a second) part, the backup singers are holding little clocks. Then on What's her name? I just gotta know part, we see a sillhouette of a girl with a question mark in it.
He strums away but when he gets to the last part of the chorus, another girl is added to the background as he counts...then gives one last triumphant strum and leans back to hit the high note, ending the song
