Yeah, I went for the cliche name.
Taking full advantage of Oak's alzheimer's.
Truth be told, neither Douche nor Oak are cool enough to have a Squirtle, so naturally I chose him.
lulz i ar so originalz
I actually did consider taking Bulbasaur, but I'd rather choose my favourite starter than have Douche chose my least favourite.
Anyways, the first battle was a very, very close call.
That would have been an extremely embarassing game over.
So after that I had to run the Oaks parcel errand, and on the way I met a Pidgey. No Pokeballs yet though, so Route 1 is a lost cause.
Having returned the parcel to Oak, he gave me the Pokedex, and Douche spat out an instant classic:
Unintentional, yet still inappropriately hilarious.
After that I pretty much headed straight for the Mart to get some Pokeballs.
I'm going to run out sooner than I should, I know it.
Next stop, Route 22!
YES! Probably the best Pokemon in the area.
Squirtle's first Tackle took it down to almost half. I wasn't sure whether or not I would kill it with one more, so I decided not to risk it and attempt to catch it. It escaped two Pokeballs. So then I had to make a decision between attacking it or just throwing (and thus wasting) Pokeballs. I chose to Tackle it one more time:
Phew. I bet myself the game would derp me and Squirt would land a critical hit and kill it, but luckily that didn't happen. Nidoking is one of my favourite Kanto Pokemon, so I'm happy. Well, not entirely. It took me 3 Pokeballs to catch that. Since I can only buy 10 Pokeballs from each Mart, 3 is slightly too many for me to lose.
Anyway, after grinding a little I saved the game. I'll probably resume later tonight or tomorrow.
