The Center is a unique program here on PC that, to sum up, allows new members to apply for a mentor to tour them around certain parts of the forum. Basically, these mentors all have experience in their listed sections and will gladly tell you if a thread you plan to make is within the rules, help you figure out which part of a section your thread would belong in, and in general familiarize yourself with the section!
Not only will you have an easier time getting around the forum with a mentor, but you'll also make a very special friend! So what are you waiting for? We have a mentor in almost every section, so you'll definitely find the one you like most~!
How this Works:
New members, before reading on, just have a look at the guidelines here:
1) If you have been paired with a mentor, you are expected to stay relatively active. If you haven't been active for 7 days, then the mentor has all rights to drop you and be available for a new mentee.
2) The job of a mentor is to show you around the boards you are interested in as well as giving you a brief look at how PC works. Please do not request a mentor just because you have a simple question about something or want assistance with your work!
3) When it comes to asking questions, mentors will not be able to assist you in terms of specific details, for example, how to ROM hack, or how to roleplay, unless the mentor states otherwise that they can help you there. Otherwise, they'll most likely help you on showing you where to go to learn!
4) Be nice to your mentor and do not disrespect them. This is a given!
5) Mentee's who have stuck around a month will be able to graduate and receive a emblem for all their learning!
Now, for you new members who are interested in having a mentor, can sign up to be mentees, in which, you can begin your mentee process by filling out this form below, and post it on this thread:
1. What sections/boards are you most interested in?
2. What other sections/boards do you want to venture in and and learn more about?
3. How committed are you on being active and how well will you show interest in learning and asking questions?
Base on your answers, you'll be assigned to a mentor! To be eligible for a mentor, you must have been active for less than two (2) months, OR have less than 100 posts. Returning members who have less than 100 posts also qualify.
You, as a mentee, are able to request up to three mentors, in which from those three, you'll be paired with one!

Hi guys! My name is Sheep but you're welcome to call me Janna, which is my real name. It's pronounced John-uh, by the way, and no, I'm most certainly not named after a League of Legends character! Haha.
I'm 23 years old and a huge Pokemon fan - been into the franchise since I was around 9 years old with the original Red and Blue. As the years went on my Pokemon obsession has only grown stronger so I've continued purchasing the main series games within a few days of their release, watching the anime, and collecting both the cards as well as other merchandise (stuffed toys, figures, keychains, and so on). My preferred Pokemon spinoff is Pokemon Conquest. My favorite region is Hoenn and some of my favorite Pokemon are Chespin, Chikorita, Whimsicott, the Mareep line, Diancie, Emolga.. and others. Types-wise, I adore electric (#1!), grass, ghost, and fairy. <3
Outside Pokemon cute things and sushi are some of the better things in life that make it worth living. My favorite colors are pink, orange, and white and I spend most of my time poking around online, playing my 3DS (OR/AS are amazing), and checking my game apps on my phone.
PokeCommunity-wise, I was originally promoted to moderator of The Welcome Lounge (that's this place!), originally called New Users / Welcome, in August 2012. I was then promoted to super moderator in January 2014 and here I am now, still obsessively posting around here in hopes of making all new members feel comfortable. Please don't be afraid to ask me if you need anything at all and enjoy your time on the forum! [:

I have been on PC since May 2012. I originally joined because I wanted to create a pokemon fan game heavily based on my country, Australia. After a while though I got curious and looked into the Roleplay Corner and that is where I've stayed and is by far my favourite and most frequented section on PC. Apart from that, earlier this year I began to really explore the other sections and have become a relatively frequent poster in General Chat, Discussions and Debates and Forum Games. Honestly PC is a happy place for me, it is a great community and I've met some amazing people here. I'm happy with my actual life but its always nice knowing I can just log on here and get away from it all.
Outside of PC, pokemon and RPing my interests include music, dancing, reading, anime, comedy and learning interesting things. I'm currently studying to be a teacher and do casual work as a dance coach.

Hey guys, how's it goin? I'm Tsutarja, or you can call me by my real name, which is Zach! I'm 20 years old and I live in Florida, located in the southeastern United States. I'm currently studying computer programming, and plan to work as a computer programmer or move onward into IT. I like listening to music, particularly classic rock, and I just recently started watching anime. I also enjoy hanging out with friends at school, and playing my 3DS almost everyday.
Here on PC, I've been a member since 2010, but was never really active until 2013. I originally joined to discuss HeartGold after it came out, although that focus has shifted quite a bit! I became a moderator in August 2013 for the Computers & Technology section, and that enhanced my experience of being active on PC.
I would be glad to assist you in the areas of technology if needed, or around PC as a whole! If you have any questions about the forum, feel free to ask me whenever possible. My visitor messages are also always open if you wish to start a conversation or if you need a new friend!

Hello there newcomers! My name is Nichole, and I'm a 22-year-old from sunny Australia! I've been a member at PC for almost four years now which seems like ages but over that time I have grown to love this community and have since made so many friends and now I plan to continue my new dream of welcoming the new generation of members to our wonderful community! I wasn't really the same member I was back when I was new, since I often made mistakes and didn't know where to post but that has since been put behind.
Some stuff about me, I have social anxiety (thankfully it doesn't affect me online too much, it's mainly a real life problem), and I love cute things, thinking happy thoughts, listening to music (my fave genres are alternative, indie and dance, but I may venture into some other stuff as well), blogging away on Tumblr, and of course Pokemon! I do love any type of Pokemon, but my fave will always be the Water-type. I got into Pokemon when I was just 7, and these days I love the franchise even more than back then! I mostly play the games (since 3rd Gen to be specific), but I have also been a watcher of the anime.
As for where I tend to focus my activity on this forum, I mainly post in the Pokemon sections as well as within The Welcome Lounge itself but I also sometimes venture into the off-topic and entertainment-based areas. Basically I'm pretty diverse in terms of activity, although I know certain sections better than others. Anyways, I'm very down-to-earth and friendly, along with being a little bit funny, but deep down I love to do my best to help you get around the forums!
By choosing me as your mentor, I'm sure you will be in for a lot of fun and with my experience you will learn a lot about whatever you're interested in. If there's anything you need, feel free to hit me up with a message since my profile and inbox are always open. Have fun and I'll be seeing you around!

Hey, I'm aeternum. I've been a member here for just about 2 years now but I only really started posting in 2014. I'd say I'm a pretty alright guy and I hope you think so too. I'm not the best conversation starter, but if you're into pretty much any kind of music, video games, anime or manga then I think we'll be able to work something out. I'm a Final Fantasy and just Square Enix freak in general and I've got a moderately successful fan club for it here on the forums. I started out here posting in Rom Hacks and then gradually shifted over to the rest of the forum starting with Challenges and then moving on to pretty much everything else all at once.
I've spent about 9 months of my life here on PC and I can say for sure that I don't regret it one bit. There's a lot of neat people here to meet and a lot of fun things to do. I hope we can get to know each other better and I hope your time here on PC will be fun and overall just a good memorable experience. Hello everyone! I'm Victor, but most people call me Laguna. I'm a 17-year-old guy living in the UK who loves videogames, especially Sonic the Hedgehog, Final Fantasy and of course Pokémon. I first signed up here in February of 2015, but I didn't become active until near the end of April 2015. Ever since then though I have been posting here almost every day.
My all-time favourite pokémon is Raichu, I've had a special place for it in my heart ever since I got into pokémon. Some of my other favourites are Aggron, Zoroark and Skarmory. I have lots of other pokémon I like but I'm not gonna go into too much detail. My first exposure to Pokémon was through watching the anime when I was young, but I didn't really start loving the series until I played Ruby for the first time. Nowadays I still really love the Hoenn games, especially Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, but I like Black 2 and White 2 just a bit better.
As for my other interests, I like watching anime a lot. I'm a huge fan of Dragon Ball, JoJo's Bizarre Adventure and Death Note, for example. I also have a YouTube channel where I do Let's Play videos and other silly things. If you like to watch some random dude play through videogames while trying not to blunder and sound really stupid, consider checking it out!
PC-wise, I am the founder of the Starter Club and a proud member of #TeamTrivia, but you'll usually see me posting on a variety of different boards everywhere. If you're feeling overwhelmed by all the different boards or don't know where to post a particular topic, you can usually rely on me to help. I hope you have a great time here at PC! =3

I live in a country where English is not the native tongue, albeit being a rapidly growing medium of communication. However, ever since kindergarten, I've learned in the language of English and thus it is more my mother tongue than any other language. I've been wanting to learn Japanese for quite some time and I decided I would pursue it after school comes to an end. I like writing and I've been known to be a tiny bit of a grammar Nazi (which I presume comes from the writing and MS Word's beautiful word correction feature). I spend almost all my time on the internet and that's where my love for programming and web design was born. I do prefer web design over programming at the moment and I love CSS! Finally, I believe that the amount of joy and contentment you can find in any society is somewhat proportional to how fast you can make a friend/friends and that's a big reason as to why I want to be a mentor.

I been into Pokemon since I was 7 years old, and still, it's one of my favorite games. There's something to it, maybe it's nostalgia. But, I'm sure that my point of view about Pokemon changed since I joined PC.
My favorite sections are The Treehouse, Pokemon Triva, Battling & Team Building and The Welcome Lounge. I'm around those sections often, but, I pretty much check every thread that looks interesting for me. I'm also really active in our Showdown! server, it's an amazing place to have some laughs and some battles, if you like competitve battling, I can help there!
I'm a person who likes to help everybody when he can, if you ever need help with PC, it doesn't matter if I'm your mentor or not, you can always ask me about anything. I'm here to help when it's on my league. I always tend to be blunt, I feel unconfortable being fake, if I ever say something that you find offensive, feel free to say it. Basic Gamemaking in RMXP/Pokémon Essentials help
Spoiler:
Hello! I'm called Rainbow around here but you can call me Kyle if you prefer calling people by real names. I've been a member since 2010, when I came here to learn about ROM Hacking.
I'm 18 years old and I've been playing Pokémon games for most of my life - my first game ever was Leaf Green, which hooked me on the series for good and remains one of my favorite games to this day. My favorite Pokémon game would have to be Emerald, which I only became interested in at first because I wanted to be a hipster and use it for a ROM Hack - unlike everyone else, because Fire Red is the most commonly used ROM. I decided to play it before hacking it, and it was the best game I'd ever played at the time. Even ORAS, which I adore, can't quite compete in my eyes.
Besides Pokémon, I'm PC gamer - I enjoy first person shooters like Team Fortress 2 and occasionally Counter-Strike. I also play a lot of lesser-known indie games such as Nuclear Throne. My favorite game is Dishonored, and I've recently been getting into playing that competitively. I'm really interested in game design and programming, and am currently working on developing a fanmade Pokémon game in RMXP. And this was supposed to be the non-Pokémon section...
My career goal is to be an author, so I spend a lot of my free time writing and planning stories. I also do some drawing occasionally, and enjoy going out with friends and eating pizza. I've also been doing fencing competitively for about 5-6 years and am an assistant teacher at a fencing school, which means I get to teach new students all the basic techniques.
You can feel free to ask me any questions and I'll do my best to answer! I wish you a fantastic time here on PokéCommunity! :)

1) Little to no infractions (old infractions will be investigated)
2) Active for more than three months (90 days from your actual join date)
3) Prove your activity by posting at least once every two days (we will see your statistics for this)
If you're interested on becoming a mentor, then fill out the application (located below). All fields are required! Once you have finished, send it to Dragon via PM. Please do not post it here!

3) How long have you been posting there?
4) Why do you want to be a Mentor?
5) What sort of areas can you help the mentee in? (eg general forum guidence, or other specifics)
Note: By submitting this application, you understand that the positions are limited in scope and you may be put on a waiting list. Hello, I'm Rage, and it was informed to me that mentors can be... well asked for? In here...
1. What sections/boards are you most interested in?
I'm the kind of guy who's interested in mostly anything people of the Internet bring up, But as a matter of fact, I think the board I am more interested in is: The Pokemon Gaming board. (Or is it a section?)
I am also pretty interested in the Creative Discussion section, but right now I'm mostly interested in the pokemon games (From 1st Gen till 5th gen, I excluded 6th gen because I can't get a 3DS).
2. What other sections/boards do you want to venture in and and learn more about?
Obviously, I'd want to venture more into the real nature of the forum. What to do and what not to do. I'd really wouldn't like to mess it up for you all, so of course, I'd be more than happy to learn more of: "the Forum Rules, Navigation of the Forums, and General Forum Guidance.
3. How committed are you on being active and how well will you show interest in learning and asking questions?
You can't really know what would happen in the near or far future like a Xatu. If I was a Psychic-type Pokemon, I would answer this question with an absolute answer, but as I am a mere human, I will just give you this: "I shall try my best in getting active on this forum, and at least show you all that I am here and I want to learn from you all, And I will give biggest, hardest interest in learning and questioning. Try hard mode: ON."
And since it all goes down to this: Hikamaru, Sonata, and gimmepie might be able to be my mentor. (Notice me, mentor. Lulz.)
Meh, I'm all outta words. Thank you and... yeah. There's your form.
