4th Gen The Old Chateau

EDIT: I wonder if Giratina has anything to do with it??
 
I think it's Gardenia's and Cheryl's (I think that's Chansey girl's name) secret base of operations. I bet there's a secret button on the statue that opens a staircase in the floor, that leads to their evil lair. The ghosts are caused by projectors to scare trainers away from the mansion.

Mr. Backlot: "Hahaha! Good morning pretty flowers! My, Pichu! You look mighty fine today!"
Maid: "Mr. Backlot? You forgot your morning medication again"
Mr. Backlot: "Hohoho, I'm quite fine if I don't say so myself"
Maid: "But sir... the doctor said..."
Mr. Backlot: "Oh fine. What does he know about having fun anyway?!"

Something like this maybe going on in that mansion of madness... maybe...

That's a good idea. I was thinking, maybe, Cheryl was cause she was scared in Eterna Forest, and that's where the Old Chateau is.:\
 
Well, Gardenia could be the saved sister that feels really bad to enter there and remember everything about her family, so she just pretends to be scared. She even lives steps from there, so she's a good possibilty. Because there are so few hints to the story, I hope the third Sinnoh game (if there is one) expands the Old Chateau's story.

Another thing. Why is the Old Chateau in the middle (actually in the end) of a forest. I mean, who would live in the middle of the road apart from the Berry Master. Especially because it looks like rich people lived there. They should be in Jubilife or Hearthome.
 
Oh, wait, I gotta contradict myself.(maybe) Since you let Cheryl off at the place where the Old Chateau is, maybe she's not scared, she was probably just lonely. If she had been scared, she probably would've asked the D/P hero to take her out.......Right?
 
i still agree with others that say it might have been something to do with Mr. Backlot. has anyone ever noticed that he and his Butler whisper quite a bit when you talk to him about the Pokémon in his patch (after you get the National Dex)?

That's because the Pokémon Mr. Backlot mentions isn't actually originally there. So, the Butler tells Backlot that, and Backlot kinda orders the Butler to get the Pokémon he mentioned onto the garden.
 
yeah, but Mr. Backlot seems too cheery and has an odd dispositions to me.
 
This is all freaky, I hope its fully explained later. Future anime episodes or the next Sinnoh game.
Man, i'm intrigued. I like the Giratina theory or maybe thats just cause i couldn't stop sweating when i was in Turnback Cave, man i hate that place.
 
So, do you think the anime will actually cover the Old Cheatu? Or did they ever cover it? I mean, they already went through Eterna Forest, so you'd think they would of covered it there.

I meant the human ghosts. Obviously Cheryl and Gardenia have captured ghost pokemon from the Pokemon Tower and bred them inside the Old Chateau. Except for the one Rotom the brought. That way either the ghost pokemon would scare them, or once they found Rotom they'd think that the trainer had found the secret of the Old Chateau, and they'd leave.

Think about it, Cheryl and Gardenia are the only two people besides you that have been seen near the Old Chateau. And isn't it a bit suspicious that there are so many pairs of trainers throught the forest, obviously hired hands to keep feeble trainers from passing through the forest. Cheryl would guide any trainer with actual potential right past the Chateua, right to Eterna forest so they wouldn't notice. Instead they'd only see some trees scattered among a worn fence. Though once they got to Eterna City the average trainer would be too occupied battling Cheryl's accomplice, noneother than the gym leader Gardenia, and forget all about the mysterious fence.
 
Ghosts aren't always dead people. They can be living people too. A ghost is created when a violent event happens such as a murder or killing spree. The energy from the event known as "A, B, C, D and E" energy respectivly marks itself like a journal in time. If someone looks at the spot this event takes place they will see the after image thus resulting in a ghost. If something bad happened to someone in the game then that means they could have left an after image. Get it? Sorry if this is complicated. I hope it helps you.

I got it, though I had never heard of it. This means a ghost is not a 'presence' (like a dead person's spirit) but a "video"?
 
I really hope they expand on this story, it's freaky and would be a great follow up storyline.
 
Yeah that's what a ghost basicly is. A sort of video. Though a spirit is someone who has somehow failed to depart to the afterlife, maybe if they have forgotten a cherished item or need to expose someone as a murdrer...
