The PKMN league sure seems pretty lax on gym trainers.

Seriously, often we see Gym trainers just decide to close their gym and run off for awhile or just give badges to trainers because they feel sorry for them, or, in one case just give them out like candy. Yet they never get reprimanded for it or act like the PKMN league cares at all.

You'd think the PKMN league would not allow this. Anyone else think they don't regulate it like they should?

Watch Pewter Gym - The Greatest Crisis Ever! In that episode they show Nurse Joy as a League Inspector seeing if Pewter gym was worthy of keeping it's position as a League regonized gym. They also showed stuff like this in the episode EP048 Showdown at Dark City and those gyms were not deemed approved by the league because of the way they treated their pokemon and caused chaos in the city. Also I vaguely remember the episode in Chronicles were the Inspector deems Cerulean unfit(or rumors) to be a gym so Misty resumed her post a the leader since I assume your original sentence is predominately alluding to Daisy, Violet, and Lily. And give them out like Candy? Seem to be only those three that did that, yes Sabrina gave him one cause Haunter made her laugh but that's hardly giving it out like candy. So yes they obviously wouldn't allow this and it has been shown like I mentioned that they regulate their gyms.

I forgot which Gym leader it was but I remember one where, when Ash went up to the gym a compartment popped out with thousands of gym badges and was told to just take one, Ash had to convince him to battle again.

Assuming it's Volkner since he seems to be bored and tired of the gym in game. And looking at the episode where Ash and Co. First go there it says the gym gave him a badge. I assume if Volkner kept that up the Inspector would shut him down. Which I doubt he would have overly cared if that happened at the time anyways.

What the point of being Gym leader
Money that all
Let me remind u because of Gym leader position specially Family gym
A family member has to Sacrifice their Dream to carry their family position
No metter how talent a Gym leader is they can't able to become anything higher unless leaving the gym
Look at Misty
She can't travel anymore because she is only one serious about battling in her family which is why she stock as a gym leader
Can she become A water pokemon master or Strongest water pokemon trainer or E4
Wallace & Koga leave their gym so they manage go higher
Does the league does anything for Gym leader to go higher aeccpt of just ordering them

He raises a good point, it does seem like there should be some kind of regulation to the gym badges - especially with Volkner's giving away badges for free! But I suppose the as long as each gym leader does the same to each person they see, everyone does still get the 8 badges in the same way and therefore earns the same place in the league; some leagues may just be easier to get into than others... As for people like Maylene who give up badges without even being beaten properly, I think a gym leader is just meant to test a trainer's ability rather than be beaten, so I guess that's probably legit as long as they do the same for all challengers.

No matter the way they get their 8 badges, they'll all get weeded out with their ability as a trainer with the actual League Conferences. Mainly, the preliminaries are prime examples to kill off the weak seeds. So the League really shouldn't care too much.

Personally, I'm surprised the PIA actually passed Pewter Gym twice beforehand, given the really bad management under Forrest and especially under Lola.
