I remember them saying the bermuda triangle had no connection and that it was likely to be either terrorists or a lighting bolt.

Actually, every news station and offical sources of information about the crash all say it was not terrorism.

The plane his a severe thunderstorm over the equator (extremely powerful storms are there.) The storms are so big planes cannot fly over them. There was so much turbulence, lightning, and things of that nature that the plane began to break up over the ocean. This is actually the most widely accepted theory at this point.

If it was in a storm, the electricity from the storm could have shorted the plane...

@ Alinthea: Highly unlikely. Planes are designed to be non-conductive. As in, the electricity simply bounces off. Another theory of mine:

UFO's.... You never know.
