I read that

the three Pokemon were Jolteon, Vaporeon and Flareon

when I was younger so that is always what I assumed that they were in their past life. Looking at things from different angles, I still feel the same way I suppose.

Hmm in pokemon gold beta there were Rai, En and Sui, i think those three were the basis of the revived cat-dogs we all know and love today

I doubt they were the original eeveelution trio now, as the pokemon that perished in there had 100% canine features according to pokemon generations
