Takumi Ryuuhiko
Takumi politely sat there and nodded his head after listening to their responses and their reactions to him being from the Lugia Dorm.
"One thing I never understood was why name the dorms after the Legendary Beasts and have Lugia as the name of the dorm superior to them when Lugia is the master of Kanto's legendary bird trio and Ho-Oh is usually the master of the three beasts-wait, forgive me I have gotten off track," he said after realizing he was getting off topic.
He took a deep sigh as he prepared himself to explain the Lugia Dorm situation to Mark and Valorie. "Three years ago, the ghost pokemon started haunting the Lugia Dorm. The students were told to gather their belongings as we were to be moved out of the Lugia Dorm until the issue could be resolved. It became apparent to the staff back then that the building itself was too infested and haunted beyond what they could currently do at the time for them to be able to . . . 'exorcise' the Ghost Pokemon out of the dorm. However, rather than just simply say that the dorm is off limits and simply move the students to a new building or living quarters, the staff and 'Professor' Gary Oak decided to disband the dorm and relocate the students among the other 3 dorms."
Something about his tone of voice changed for a brief moment when he had to call Gary Oak Professor. Takumi had lost respect for Gary from that incident, not just because of any sense of pride he might've had for being a part of the Lugia Dorm or because of personally disagreeing or disapproving of the method used to deal with the Dormless Lugia Students, but because of some other reason that seemed to have occurred /after/ the decision was made.
"I'd say that at least every member who was formerly of the Lugia Dorm including their parents were not pleased and felt insulted with the method used to resolve the issue, and a number of them actually left the academy in response to being relocated among the other three dorms. Even if some were in Raikou, some were in Entei, and most were in Suicune, they still disapproved of such a tactic, and in some cases the Academy actually lost credibility."
He looked up to both Valorie and Mark before he continued.
"In truth I personally disagree and disapprove of that action taken by the staff back then in their attempt to resolve the issue. Why should the students suffer for something they had no control over? Why should their group be disbanded just because they lost a building? A building is a building, and it is one of the easiest things to replace in the entire world. I've known some instances of relocating groups where they just simply shared the same living areas with other people or other groups, but that did not mean they had to lose their identity as a group."
His words seemed to be gaining energy, his calm face was slowly turning into the kind of face you see on a person whenever they are passionate about something, or whenever they have a goal or a dream so strong that they will do everything in their power to make it a reality.
"While I did leave the Academy Three years ago, it was NOT because I was so insulted that I decided to leave of my own free will. I possibly would have stayed, yet other factors outside of the incident of the haunting had forced me to leave the Academy for some time. Now that I have returned, I plan on reinstating the Lugia Dorm within the Academy. Most of the other Lugias are gone now, either having left because of the incident or because of graduating, but I know there still should be a very small number of the younger Lugias that should still remain in the Academy. I am sure many people have tried petitioning Gary Oak to build a new Lugia Dorm and reinstate the Lugia group, and even if my petition doesn't work now, I will do everything within my power to re-establish the Lugia Dorm. . ."
His face calmed down somewhat, but now the tone in his voice grew . . . dark.
"And even then. . . I shall continue in my quest and become stronger. . . strong enough to the point I will be able to drive off every last Ghost in the Lugia Dorm away. Whether that be by my own gifts, through gaining enough knowledge to figure out a method to drive them away. . . or even if that means I and my Pokemon become strong enough to battle and drive out every Ghost Pokemon from the dorm on our own. The teachers and professors have had their chance to try and resolve this issue for the past 3 years. Now I plan to resolve this issue myself, no matter how long it takes or what methods I must use."
He took a deep breath and his tone of voice returned to normal, and his face had become calm and collected so that he appeared to be the same well mannered student he was earlier when he began talking to Valorie and Mark.
"But that is my opinion of it all. Forgive me if I seemed rather. . . strong. Finally resolving this problem has been one of my most passionate goals in life. So while I do not mind being within the Suicune Dorm or Entei or Raikou for that matter, I will still wear my white altered Lugia Dorm Jacket with pride if ever required to wear a Dorm Jacket while I am at the Academy or required to wear a Dorm Jacket on certain Academy events. Somewhat Rebellious I know, but to me it is a matter of pride and honor."
He gave a polite smile or grin on his face as he asked in a somewhat innocent tone.
"After all, whether one realizes it or not, we all have goals and dreams in mind. It's what drives us as humans to keep going in life and gives us purpose. Without goals why would we even bother to continue doing the things we do?"
Kenshin Ren
Kenshin was a little worried when Mackenzie gave him that skeptical look but that sorta went away after Mackenzie told him it was okay.
"Yeah," he agreed with her when she said that everyone had to start somewhere. Something about the tone of her voice. . . it almost made Kenshin's spine shiver and his cheeks seemed to have gotten another shade of pink or red blush on there. Why did the way she say that just. . . made him feel funny? Was she. . . flirting?
Man, dating and flirting. Kenshin always sorta liked the idea of being able to find a girl he could have a good loving relationship with but. . . he honestly never thought he'd be able to get one at the Academy, let alone was he expecting to have a girl try to flirt with him while he was still at the young age of 13. While Kenshin still had doubts he would've been able to make any friends at the academy, he at least hoped that if anything he could at least have a few good relationships with a few guys and a few girls kinda like he did with his friends back home. Not to the point of dating, just more of having some really close or intimate friends. Not intimate as in the mushy lovey-dovey romance stuff but intimate as in-you get the idea. Kenshin just isn't looking for a girlfriend as much as he's looking for a few close or good friends.
Whether Mackenzie realized it or not, Kenshin had been trying his best to lead her throughout the entire dance, but as it had continued while they had been talking and as Kenshin had still been becoming more flustered and unsure about himself, he was more or less indirectly giving Mackenzie more and more chances to be able to take the lead whenever she felt up to it. Kenshin himself was trying as best as he could to be a lead and would've done better if he was able to better and calmly focus, but perhaps all the stress he had plus how friendly Mackenzie had been acting to him had more or less causing the role of the lead to change between them, should Mackenzie finally decide to take up the initiative.
"Oh? Well . . . I guess that's cool then, heheh," he replied when Mackenzie mentioned she had already made a name for herself. "Um. . . just. . . an honest question Mackenzie."
His face still flushed he continues, "I . . . already said earlier I'm not good with trying to make new friends and all but . . . did you just . . . try to flirt with me?"
Hey, honestly while he's still a bit naive on some issues, he wouldn't mind if Mackenzie was in truth. He honestly could use a friend who wasn't too bothered by how timid he is . . . just so long as that person wasn't using him or playing with his emotions just to be a *Insert string of bad and inappropriate names that can't be listed in a T-rated RP* or a jerk to him or trying to use him for their own personal gain and abandon him as soon as they got what they wanted from him.
The kid just likes honesty and loyalty and trust.
