The pok?mon adopter's club (Step right in and feel the love XD)

Well, separate isn't perhaps the word to use. Both are technically part of the same plotline and the humans and pok?mon will meet in the end. Ah...you'll understand once I get it summarized. Oh, and it might take a while since my family is going to watch a play, I've got a few minutes til' we leave, and I don't know how long that will take. And as for the issue of numbers, I think the number of pok?mon should be limited to three at most (I know i couldn't handle more characters than that at once) but I guess it depends on how the RPers feel about it. I'll be using Kuro and Kindle (Kuro will kind of look up to Kindle as an older sibling, you'll see...^^).

I was thinking...as these pokemon's ancestors were our trainer's ancestor's pokemon...(that's a mouthful) not only the trainers and pokemon feel drawn together... the pokemon whose ancestors were members of the same party probably would too. Like, despite being comepletely different species, my Cleffa and Cydaquil (who is still on his way ~.^) would treat each other like long lost friends.

Or something.

I was just thinking that all pokemon would know each other because their trainers know their owner. Then they would find salvation together. but then what about the pokemon who haven't arrived. and the pokemon who can only swim.

and when we will start: Maybe we should start when all pokemon are level20 since that's probaly how long it'll take to find us a roleplay we agree on.

Oh yeah...Is the RP going to be Pokemon adopters only? then when we start...noone else can join even if they have adopted pokemon?

You'll have to have adopted at least one pokemon; kind of like the requirements of this club. After we start... I dunno, that'll be up to Alter Ego and the others working on the ideas.

Oh, and take your time Ego, I have to go to class anyway. ^^ I was doing my essay (that's due in 10 minutes) at the same time I was posting in PS, and I'm kinda hoping I didn't accidently stick pokemon words into my essay...! XD

Ya' know, it sounds to me like you haven't read the plot ideas posted. And yes, it's Adopters only (Kind of the whole point) and it's also, I think, quite essential that the pok?mon are low level (Again, read and you'll understand) and I don't agree with the level 20 bit (too high really) although I suppose they could grow a bit in the RP, we'll see... Man, I wish I'd have the compact version up already. Shouldn't take too long, though.

Oh, and Charon-chan, methinks that most of the tame pok?mon would have died of old age by now. There could be a few survivors, but they would have to be elders and most elders are reactionary so there would maybe be one or two like that. As for new adopters joining afterwards, it would probably depend on how far the plot has progressed. I'd prefer it if they didn't though since I find it awkward to work people into the plot retroactively...

And Melissa, hope your essay worked out without interference, although I have to admit it would be rather interesting to hear the teacher's reaction to a Slowbro or a Rattata appearing somewhere in the text. ^^

Eh...my ideas kind of fused with Charon-chan's during the debate a page or two back with a few additional comments and thoughts from Minako. Okay, so the idea that we are now driving is this (I've done some fairly minor revisions on things that didn't quite make sense):

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

A powerful criminal organization (Could be one of the old teams or a completely new one) unleashed a full-scale attempt at pok?mon-powered world domination, evoking a furious resistance from the good trainers. The ensuing battles caused massive damage to the environment; Lush forests were burned to the ground, great cities lost in earthquakes and floods, and lands laid to waste by frost and storms. In the end, the 'good guys' prevailed, although just barely, and the casuaties had been tremendous. Enraged and bittered by the loss of their homes and their loved ones, the ordinary people began looking for a scapegoat and found it in none other than the pok?mon. After all, if it weren't for their immense power none of the events would have occured. The trainers and pok?mon objected to this of course and attempted to put up a resistance, but their numbers and resources had been drastically diminished by the conflict and the mob quickly gained the upper hand, resulting in nothing short of a bloody witch hunt in which no pok?mon or trainer was spared. The rapidly diminishing pok?mon population was pushed to more and more secluded areas of the world and just as it seemed like the end was nigh for the pok?mon a miracle occured: The legendary Jirachi appeared, granting the surviving pok?mon their greatest wish: To live in peace.

On that day, Jirachi created a second world for the pok?mon in which they would be free from human persecution. Sensing that there might be a time when the two peoples would need to unite however, Jirachi left behind a pair of portals to connect these two worlds. In the pok?mon world, the portal was located at the very peak of a great mountain in the center of the world, while an equally deep crater simultaneously appeared in the human world to conceal the portal's twin. Both the crater and the mountain are steep and treacherous places, their natural protections enforced by mysterious guardians. The only way to open the gate between the two worlds is to have a human descended from the last trainers standing on one side of the portal and a pok?mon descended from the tame standing on the other. The purpose of this is to ensure that the worlds cannot interact with each other until both humans and pok?mon have proven that they have the courage, strength, and cooperation skills required for a peacefull coexsistence.

Well, neither party seemed to show any particular inclination for uniting the worlds. The humans, left in their scorched and dying world, began focusing on salvaging what they could, tempering their harsh environment with extreme technology while the pok?mon, in their lush and idyllic new world, began to return to their old, wild ways, although they always made sure to teach their young about the dangerous and volatile nature of humans.

As generations passed, the few surviving pok?mon, namely those with unusually long lifespans, from the exodus began taking charge of the pok?mon world, gaining the title of 'elders' and managing their people with the knowledge gained throughout the ages. The word of the elders became law, but the only law they seemed inclined to enforce was that none would trespass on the mountain that lay in the center of their world and as such, the pok?mon noticed little change in their routines and remained content.

Meanwhile in the human world, a powerfull corporation, passed from generation to generation of the very people who brought about the great calamity that split humans and pok?mon, assumed monopoly position in the market of life-improving technology. Exerting the power and wealth of this position in a world where life was almost completely maintained by artificial means, the corporation's leadership efficiently ussurped political control from the hastily gathered provisional government, rapidly nearing their original goal of world domination, although this time by more subtle means. But even with their objective practically achieved, they were still not satisfied. Craving for ever more power, they then turned to the now almost ancient lore from the time when people and pok?mon still coexisted in search of something, anything, that could give them a clue about how they could harness the power of those legendary creatures. Their research paid off, culminating in the discovery of an actual pok?mon; a Gardevoir encased in ice in the wall of an old mine shaft. Knowing now that the stories were indeed true, this ruthless corporation has now turned its attention towards finding the portal and opening it, hoping to gain absolute power through the enslavement of pok?mon.

Meanwhile, equally disturbing things are beginning to occur in the pok?mon world as sightings of 'shadow pok?mon', creatures born of negative emotion and bent on annihilating all happiness and contentment they find, grow ever more numerous and the elders refuse to have any of it. Dismissing the sightings as rumors and hearsay.

Well, this is where our heroes come in. This RP would be divided into three sections;
In the first part, the pok?mon heroes (Our adoptives) would realize that, despite the elders' warnings, the only way to save their world is with the help of humans and would have to work together to climb the legendary mountain with the aim of opening the portal.

In the second part, a group of humans (The trainers) would become painfully aware of what the corporation is up to and realize that the only way to stop them is if they can get to the pok?mon first and persuade them to help. They would then have to discover the whereabouts of the portal and make their way to it.

In the third part, the two sides would be united and begin the actual struggle towards their respective foes. Perhaps discovering that these events were manipulated by an unknown third party. We will see...^.~

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Well, that be the plot this far dear adopters, tell me what you think.

Agent9, that's a load of rubbish.
Alter Ego and I have come up with that over two days, and it's completely origional. At least, I think it is.

I think it's great, but then again, I helped with it. That makes me incredibly biased... heh heh.

Yeah Agent9, we don't plagiarize here. <_< If you think this looks similar to something you've seen on Serebii then please post a link to it. I've been around there though and I certainly haven't seen anything like our lil' plot. *Looks at the sheer size of it and wipes away a tear of fatherly joy* Tis' like releasing a poor little kitten into the world and not knowing wether it will be loved or end up under the tire of some ignorant jerk's car.

I like it it sounds really adventurous and sorry i havent posted lately had alot of homework *plans to kill the person who advented science* -_-

*cries* I love science!! ;_; I'd kill the person that invented science homework instead. ^-^ I swear when I become a Biology teacher, I'm gonna give as little homework as possible. And never EVER on the weekends. >_> Man do I hate homework over the weekends. Besides being annoying, it's pointless, hardly anyone does it anyway.

Anyway, *reads the RP idea* WOW! THAT FRIGGIN' ROCKS!

I like it! It is very Digimon-ish though! But that's okay with me, I like Digimon. ^^ Oh, and Ego, when I first tried to watch Digimon, I swear I thought it was the stupidest thing ever. Too complicated to just pick up and start watching.... However, as all things do to me, I eventually began to fall in love with it. Although it could have had something to do with the fact that Gabumon and Wormmon are too cute! XD

It is going to be a complicated RP to do at first. Most RPs don't have two parts of posting to them. However, I think that everyone will get the hang of it after a few posts. And seasoned RPers (like me! XD) will probably have little trouble adjusting.

Oh, and the NEW LIST OF POKEMON in the ADOPTION THREAD is UP! XD

OMG, that plot ish teh awesomest!!!! ^^

Ey, maybe Limu and Snail (and any other fossil Pokemon I'm missing) could be elders. What? They're regenerated fossils! XD

I agree with Agent9 on that nickname for Flissie's Sneasal.. Slice is perfecto. =3

Ooh.. I've asked if I could adopt the Girafarig.. And once again, I have come up with the perfect nickname within the span of a few minutes. XD

Dude... That plot... It's awesome. I'm so friggin' excited. O_O It's so awesome omg. Ego, I'm amazed at what you and Charon-chan have come up with. I'd love to be a part of this. ^__^ It does sound Digimonish to me, too, but that's okay, I love Digimon. XD

In my opinion, all we need now is to choose which Pok?mon would be the elders. I think Snail would make a good one, as well as Limu. =o But it's all up to what you guys think.

Ooh, I forgot to mention that Na-na is adorable. XD

Actually, BOTH of your Pokemon are so dang lovable I could.. eat them. O.O

Nah. XD

Aww. +puts Na-Na on Plushie's head+ If you eat them, they won't be there to look at anymore! o0 XD

This sounds silly coming from the adopter of him, but maybe Na-Na would make an intresting Pok?mon elder...? I say this because I think his Gentle nature makes sense for him to be in the place of an elder, clich? as it seems XD It's okay if you'd rather not, though. I still think Snail is perfect. XD

Heh, looks like this little 'kitten' didn't end up under a tire. Thanks for the positive input everyone. ^^ But this sounds like digimon? o_O Ya' all think that? Meh, maybe there's more to the show than I first thought but that doesn't change the fact that the finish translations and voiceovers both suck.

Oh, and as for the elders: I don't think that Limu for one would be the right type. The elders are old, and I mean really, really, old pok?mon who have already achieved their highest evolutionary stage. I was thinking on the lines of pok?mon like Alakazam and Absol, and nearly all of them would be extremely stubborn about the old ways; Meaning that all humans are evil and should not be dealt with under any circumstances, they did have their families massacred by those people...They are extremely single-minded in the belief that their world is perfect and refuse to accept the existence of the shadow pok?mon. I was thinking that the elders wouldn't be adoptives but rather a kind of antagonist presence in the pok?mon section of the RP as they would oppose our heroes' goal at every point (Believing that they are misguided and would destroy their world), even forcefully if need be. There might be one or two exceptions to the attitude but no more than that, and the exceptions would have to keep a more or less low profile about their views and they could certainly not break against their own laws and attempt to climb the mountain. They might realize their error close to the end of the RP and help but before that they would be against our heroes, not evil mind you, just misguided. So yeah...are you guys sure that you want your adoptives portrayed like that?

And we still need some names: one for the evil corporation, names for the corporation's top executives (They would be the main bad guys in the human section of the RP), the name of the team that triggered these events and founded the above corporation, and names for both the crater and the mountain that hold the two ends of the portal.

Ah, I see, sorry. I kinda got the wrong idea... That would be better. I feel stupid now. >>;;

As for names, I'm not sure. x_x But maybe I could think of one if we narrowed it down. I suppose English names or just names with a meaning would be good, right? +ponder+ For the evil corporation, the executives' names would be easy once we figure out a name for the organization. oo Maybe following with the Rocket/Aqua/Magma theme.

*Looks at above posts* Well, it seems like you're not the only one who did that so no problem. Maybe I should have made it a bit clearer. ^^

Oh, and for the names; they don't need to be english or have any particular meaning. It would be neat if they did of course, but the important thing is that they sound good. And as for the organization; yeah, I suppose it would make sense to follow the old 'Team' formula although as I said; Any name that sounds good is good enough for me. ^^
