The pok?mon adopter's club (Step right in and feel the love XD)

Oh! New thought! How about, in this new world, there are 'shadow pokemon'. Not as in the ones from Colliseum...not pokemon that are corrupted... but pokemon that were born from the hatred, greed and maliciousness of the humans, that has leaked into jirachi's new world. They're sort of...demons...that take the form of pokemon...and try to destroy the pokemon's happiness. They work for no one, but can't abide people being contented or happy.

As for the mountain idea... most of us still have pokemon on their first form, or are quite weak...will they be able to get in? Does that gate only...like, hinder humans?

Ah, that's a relief, Ego. And thank you, I am feeling a bit better. ^^

An adventure/trainer RP sounds nice... I'd lean more to that type, just because it's a bit easier to do, I think. o.o I can't half read that whole plot you posted, but from what it got from it, it sounds great. XD I should be able to do some writing today, as long as I don't have anything more that comes up. ^^ But a poll might help, just to see what everyone prefers. Maybe one like, "Which genre of RP would you prefer?" I suppose. =o

+is hoping to see Skitty today+ Aww, I love Horsea, Ego ^^ They're so cute.

Shadow pok?mon...mmm...sound like a nice idea. Kind of shows the corruption slowly seeping in, me likey. ^^

Oh, and the thing about our pok?mon being first-stage. That's kind of the whole point actually. Individually they are weak, so if they want to reach the peak they will have to perfect their teamwork, which would also prevent them from reaching that peak too soon. Ohh...and the shadow pok?mon thing. It could be that the elders, pok?mon that have been there since the world was formed, refuse to see this splinter in their perfect world and keep repeating that everything is under control (Even though the evidence indicates that it obviously isn't) and acting as if there was nothing wrong. There could be, I don't know if it would really fit into the RP anymore, but there could be similar nasty things going on in the human world, a kind of new treath that demands the two sides to put aside past differences and work together? Hmm...my thoughts seem to be going more and more towards the adventure side of things. Sorry...can't help myself...

Anyhow, the gate-thingie's purpose is to keep humans and pok?mon appart until they are ready to live together again.

EDIT: Oh, glad to hear you're feeling better Minako. And any writing is certainly welcome. Yes, maybe we could start by launching an adventure/Trainer RP as a kind of soft start and then work our way to the harder stuff? And yes, I think Horseas are adorable too. ^^ *Looks around for another cute pok?mon to huggle in the mean time, finally settling on Marsh but maybe putting in a bit too much emotion*

{Love hurts...} Marsh mutters, squirming in Alter's vicegrip of a hug.

Now, that's a great idea!
I think we should nominate some people to play the 'elder' pokemon... and maybe, some how, we should have two boards...one for the human world (with us, the sad trainers who had their beloved ones taken away) and one for the pokemon world (our babies, strugglin to return to us). Would that work?
We should say everyone needs to co-operate to survive - the pokemon, who have lsot their trainer's guidance...and the trainers, who no longer have the strength of a pokemon at their disposel.

That sounds fun, Charon-chan, Ego ^^ I'd like to do something like that. o.o +brainstorm mode+ For some reason, it reminds me of Digimon. XD

Hmm...Digimon? Can't say I've ever understood that show...watched a bit, got annoyed by the fact that nothing seemed to make any sense whatsoever and stopped watching. Besides, the voiceovers sucked.

Ahem, anyway...there would have had to be quite some time since the pok?mon and humans were separated if we are to be able to talk about elders. So how about this? Both our pok?mon and the humans (Ourselves or whatever characters we feel like playing) feel that there is clearly something wrong with the world but both lack the power to fix it. However, there are tales, in both worlds, of a time when the two factions lived together. Most people consider them simply that, superstition and fiction, but obviously our characters consider it worth a shot. As does a certain human organisation, one which knows for a fact that pok?mon existed and finds it fairly easily deducted that the tales of their power are also true. (They would have found one caught permanently frozen into the wall of a cave or something like that) Our (human) heroes find out about this as well (Perhaps this organisation is after something that they posses? Or maybe the gate could only be opened by those with pure souls (It's a bit of a clich? but it works), which is why they would need the 'cooperation' of the people themselves?

The pok?mon, on the other hand, have always been taught that humans are greedy and narrow-minded and that they have been sealed away because of the destruction they bring (Which is fairly logical considering what happened) but our (Pok?mon) heroes believe that things aren't all that simple.

In addition, both worlds face their respective treaths. The pok?mon world has the shadow pok?mon and the human world has this big, evil, corporation-thingie messing it up, and both have to admit that they need each other's help and decide to take the chance.

OKay, then. I reckon that's our plot sorted...
I think we should talk with Melissa and see what she thinks, and in the meanwhile start refining the opening post. You know, get the plot inot easy, manageable chunks. xD

The pure souls thing is pretty cool... but I think we should start off with the pokemon world... then move onto the human side. Otherwise, things are gonna get confusing. Some people (like me) struggle with doing two roleplays at once, so we might have to do one at a time.

That's excellent... I'd really enjoy something like that. =3 It sounds fairly complicated, but that's only because I'm half asleep as of right now. XD

It sounds like Digimon to me with the whole start from a low level/stage stuff, that's all. XP

Hmm... Maybe instead of the 'pure souls' part, to make it less clich?-ish, it could be opened only by those who truely have the desire to help... o_O? I dunno.

Ooooh! I know! It can only be opened by those humans who have the strongest blood connection to trainers and those pok?mon who have the closest strongest blood relation to the last tame pok?mon. Both of these connections would give their owners a baaad name in their respective societies, so our heroes' parents would undoubtedly have downplayed and denied them as much as possible.

And pok?mon starts out with low level/stage stuff as well. So there's no call for XP... XP

Besides, the more complicated the starting plot the more people can find to interprete in it as we progress. I'd have no problem playing both at the same time but since you (Charon-chan) and probably a good amount of other folks around here have them then I'm fine with taking this into two. Kind of fitting, no? Which one would we start out with? Human or Pok?mon?

Pokemon, definetly. Man, this is going to rock. We could make the first board tomorrow...
Hopefully my Cyndaquil willl have come by then. I've got big plans for him.
Oh, and the human world should be in a post-acopolyptic state - like in Wolf's Rain, if you've ever seen that - half dead.

Eh, haven't seen it I'm afraid so the picture I have of it is one with considerable influence from Final Fantasy 7, mainly the city of Midgar where nothing grows. I'm thinking of a kind of rapidly dying enivronment that is tempered by the use of extreme technology. All of the technology comes from a single source, a powerful company (Urgh, it needs a neat name >.<) that managed to claim monopoly of the market. The company's leaders (Also unnamed at the moment) then used the power his company granted them over the voters to assume political control, replacing the emergency government that was put up after the pok?mon hunt ended. They are greedy and underhanded and won't hesitate on anything that promises profit, regardless of the cost to others, and the prospect of power that pok?mon would grant them is very appealing.

Oh, and I know you're eager to start off (Heck, you're not the only one. XD) but I think we should wait for more people to read this stuff and have their say before we actually start out anything. Besides, that might give Melissa enough time to finish your Cyndaquil as well. ^^

So yeah...^^

Good idea! Maybe at the weekend...
The cities on Wolf's Rain are like that. Oh, and there should be lots of big, stone structures....that were once grand but now crumble into disrepair.
Will the pokemon's world be the opposite? Lush jungle and forest?
Sorry I took so long to reply...

Heh, no problem. And yeah, the pok?mon world would be teeming with life in every nook and cranny. There would be some rougher terrains to accomodate different kinds of pok?mon but there would always be something growing. Oh, and there would be big grassy fields with flowers and majestic mountains of course. It's a kind of polarity thing... ^^

Thos crumbling stone buildings...maybe there could be like a ruined gym somewhere or something? Hmm...I like the idea though, kind of a reminder of the past.

And speaking of late replies, I finally made one in Project PS. It's mostly on Limpy's part but still. ^^

Ho ho, everyone forgets something. I'm trying to draw my Cleffa with my cranky old mouse and MS Paint; it's not really working. It's distracting.

Sounds like a good idea. Perhaps the ruins of battle tower, as well... and, like you said, a pokemon frozen in ice. Creeepy.

Maybe in the pokemon world, they find something fromt he human world... not sure what... ^^;

Oooh! I know! I know! *Waves hand in the air excitedly* How about a broken pok?ball? Gawd, the elders would get really huffy over that one. XD

Oh! And Pandi can find it, and think someone murdered a voltorb! Aww, my poor likkle sweetums would cry the sky down.
That's what my gran says... ^^;

*cuddles Pandora*

Aww...that's a great idea! Really shows Pandora's innocent side. (Did I mention I love Pandora's nickname? ^^) Oh...meh lil' Chansey would probably try to nurse the poor thing back to health. Trivial matters like facts don't bother her too much when she gets into busybodying. XD

Heh heh. I've always been fascinated with that name... and I lvoe the way you can shorten it to so many things that sound ever so cute. She can be called Pandora when she's a big grown up Clefable... until then, she's Pan-Pan!

It also reminds me of Lyra's Daeman from the 'His Dark Materials' books. Ever read those?

Random thought: Maybe that scene... with the pokeball....could open the roleplay? And all the pokemon come running and are either: 'Urgh, what is up with that stupid Cleffa?' Or...'Aww! Sweet pea!'

pikachu592...you are so completely in the wrong place. -_- This isn't the adoption thread ya' know!

And yeah, Pandora has an impressive range of cute shortenings, it's partially why I love it. ^^

And nope, haven't read those books, but I get the feeling that they would be worth checking out. ^^

And that would actually be quite a good start. A whole crowd gathers to take a look at what's going on and then one of the elders comes, sees the pok?ball and snatches it and then tells everyone to run along and mind their own bussiness. Ohh...this would spark curiosity that would lead to our heroes wanting to find out what's really going on...good stuff. ^^
