Why do you think that? We have the larger area, nicer people, less people, less crowded.

Now what could beat that, just a side who's in the media too much.

well i like canberra nice and cosy not to much city but then again WA is nice

Well, as Tetsuya said, Canberra isn't too much of a big city - it's too small and doesn't receive too much media attention - it's like Sydney and Melbourne that receive it all! :D You just love to defend for WA Nica, don't you? :P ... I should go there one day and see for myself how good it is. :)

Aren't you lucky! Me ain't going nowhere this year, as far as I'm concerned. :( To be frank, I've never been overseas yet, which is pretty sad really... :'(
 
Funny how we're talking about Australia and we're presenting a project on what our life would be like if us six students immigrated to Australia today. I hope I'm ready.
 
WA's worth defending. We have awesome fireworks too. Just went to see them <3 XD

I thought Canberra would be really, um..media grown up..'cause of the politics and stuff there. XD

It does have all that, but it's heck of a small place to be too focused on. Sydney's your place of media focus; Melbourne is the entertainment area me thinks. :\
 
But you'd think with ACT being the capital they'd get more attention.

Syndney's only got the sydney harbour bridge, and Melbourne's got themselves..The media should pay attention to other cities aside from them.
 
Well, the ACT isn't as old as Sydney or Melbourne, so it's rather small and doesn't have as much media focus. But really lots of things go on here in Canberra, except for me I stay home and not go to them events! :P
 
So which things happen there?

We don't have that much big events, aside from Telethon.
 
Okay, we've just got Summernat (Car/Motor Festival), Canberra Royal Show, the Multicultural Festival - all annual, and some other minor events, meanly community ones and musical/threatrical concerts/gigs.

I've been overseas once! XD, but I don't think I'm going again for some time...

Going oversea? I think I've been once...just can't put my mind on when it was ^^" When I can I might actually move to another country, kinda tired of the country I'm in at the moment :X Maybe it's just boredom..

Anyone else planning on moving to another country when possible?
 
I get really homesick when I'm only visiting someone for an hour. I really don't understand how people can go overseas.
 
Probably since they have nothing important at home or just want to see more of the world maybe?

It might be. Have you tried going to other places in it, and trying something new? It might help a bit. ^^;; I know it helps with me. If it's the same thing week after week, it's easy to get bored. But, if you just go out somewhere new, you might enjoy it, and the boredom might go away.

Personally, I would *really* think about it before moving out of the country. It has its advantages, but it also has its disadvantages. It takes work and costs money. Also, you might get homesick...

Yeah... I'm going back to the States when I can. XD But then again, that's home, so maybe that doesn't quite count...

Or some people have to because of a job. Right now, my mom's in the US Military, and she's stationed overseas. This is the third time in my life that we've lived outside of the US.

It's okay, but I get homesick really fast. :/ Of course, part of it is the inconvenience. Perhaps if the stores were a little better, I wouldn't be so homesick.

However, I will always miss my family. It's something you can never bring over with you. Hell, most of our family will never fly over here. My graduation is going to be very lonely, it sounds like it's just going to be the parents and my brother. It sucks; my sister had much more people, since we were in the States at the time. *sigh*
