4th Gen The Pokemon Bug Catching competition discussion thread

I'll be doing it for the items :)
I'm hoping new items will be included.
I am also hoping to capture a Scyther or a Paris :P
I want the pokemon like Scyther to be alot rarer though.

Oh the nostalgia. :)
 
I have a feeling they'll add more species on the onset for some reason. But yeah, the prizes need revamping. Perhaps a random elemental stone (not Sun) for first, as in the original Gold and Silver you couldn't get them until Kanto? (I know, Crystal's another story altogether). Then Sun for second, and an Everstone for third. :)

I 100% agree, they defiantly need to make moon stones obtainable sooner. You have to wait till post-elite 4 just to evolve a Jigglypuff T_T
 
I'm looking forward to seeing what silly game mechanics gamefreak will make this time(not that I'll dirty my virgin hands with hexadecimal.)
I saw one on G/S/C, but it is very possible that with the inclusion of some bug pokemon that can fight well, or evolve into pokemon that can fight well(skorupi, yanma, nincada), that the mechanics will change.

Drapion was an amazing bug type :P
Same with Yanmega :)
 
The Bug Catching Contest should have many other types catcchin contest like fire catching contest or dark catching contest.... stuff like that !
And after the NDex , to be able to encounter Sinnoh Hoenn bugs even catch Vespiquen !

Nah I think it should stay as the Bug Catching Contests. A fire catching contest would ruin the originality of the bugsss
 
I really can't wait for this. In Gold, I ran into a shiny Weedle in the contest, but I ran away from it and regret it to this day. I hope that I can find another shiny and catch it this time.


I also really want Pokemon of other generations to be available in the contest after the E4.

When I played the original games I was obsessed with playing this mini-game. Hopefully I'll enjoy it as much as I did back then, it'll be a sweet little addition to pass the time. ^^

Wondering how the hell a Beedrill won against a Scyther in the contest, no really I got a Scyther once and they still said a Beedrill won.

Perhaps the judge was deathly allergic to bees, and the person who caught the Beedrill threatened the judge(s) O.o
