AAAAAAA I POSTED THIS IN GAMEFAQS BUT FOR SOME REASON everyone mad hates me and they just replied with "Go away." my friend says it's cuz i ask newb questions like if Orre is official (he sez it's not) and ya but whatever @______@ so I'll ask here:

"I've always been confused with games like Colleseum and stuff saying "The Pokemon Company." I THOUGHT it was Gamefreak's new name, but then I went to Pokemon Garden and there was a Gamefreak place..

So uh.. could someone clear this up?"

From what I understand, The Pokemon Company is a division of Nintendo.

Yes the pokemon company is a first party division for nintendo it's the main part of gamefreak.
I don't know why gamefaqs was uptight about your question because you're new at this. Dont worry you got friends here who willn't tell you to go away.

Lol, I didn't even know that. I thought the Pokemon Company was a completly separate entity from nintendo and game freak. Maybe I'm right... because i don't think Nintendo has anything to do with all the movies but yet you see the Pokemon Company credited all over it.

My Japanese isn't the greatest, but from what I can tell at the official site, the company is sort of jointly-owned by Nintendo, Creatures, and GAMEFREAK. Those companies, as we probably all remember from the RBYGSC loading screens at least, are the basic creators of the Pokemon games. So I guess the company was created almost as a subsidary of all three so they could more easily manage the franchise, since the company does cover most areas of Pokemon, as far as I know.

It also says Pokemon USA is like an overseas affiliate, so I assume both companies pretty much do the same thing. (Though the Pokemon Company probably does a lot more as far as licensing Pokemon to other countries and such.)

When I saw the text "the pokemon company" for the first time, I thought that it was meant to simplify things for Nintendo, Creatures and GameFreak and be a common name for all of them. This was around when Colosseum came out.
