I'd say they've all improved greatly, but I really love Blastoise's and Sceptile's new sprite. Blaziken and Swampert are also equally awesome.

Yes, I agree with you. The starter Pokemon's new sprites are very nice. You can post images of the starter Pokemons.

It just depends on their level and moveset. =P I think any Pokemon has the potential to beat a so-called powerful trainer.

lol there was a trainer that had lvl 40-46 pokemon but i still beat them with only my lvl 35 charmeleon so yeah a starter can beat a powerful trainer (if it were a real life trainer i probably wouldv'e lost)
