Okay, I have a serious problem here that has to do with school. As you know there are people who tend to be more creative and have trouble with math and vice versa. Well, I am a person who likes facts, therefore I like subjects like science, math, and history where I am being taught with facts, numbers, formulas, and accounts from the past that are verifiable. The thing is that I am a horrible student when it comes to English, art and other subjects that have to do with abstract or philosophical ideas, though I love reading. I am passing my math, biology, chemistry and history classes with ease. On the other hand I have already dropped out of my art class, not painting and the like but the idea and theory of art, and I am failing English so bad I would have to get nearly every single point left in the semester to barely pass. How is it possible to fail this badly? I think that I am in an English class beyond my abilities but the thing is that I tested into this class so it technically wouldn't be, the problem though is that the test was mainly about sentence structure and the constructive properties of English and not the abstract and deeper meanings behind language. The main problem with this is that these classes are required in order for me to get my degree. My major is in biochemistry while my minor is in molecular biology/genetics as it goes hand in hand with my major. I don't want these classes to get in the way of my major and getting my degree but I am just plain not interested in them. I think that may be the big picture, I am just not interested. Anyway, I have asked around and people say I should just take a break on those classes while focusing on my bread and butter. What do you guys think about this? Any advice on this situation and how would one go about getting more interested in those subjects? I feel like just quitting some times, It's so frustrating to even think about it and at some times I feel depressed. I hate those classes, I wish there was a way around them. The worst part is that I already failed the same English class last semester, although with a different professor. I need your help PC, I really do.
