Ignore Penguin13. That really wasn't needed.

Anyway, I think you are handling it well, stepping up to the plate and being responsible for what is happening isn't what a vast majority of people would do. OK you got drunk and made a mistake, what person can say they haven't made mistakes, this one just lead to a lifetime commitment.

There is no reason you can't be a good dad. My mum had me when she was just 17 and she has been successful with herself and has also brought me up well. So age isn't important as long as you understand what you are getting into and are ready to look after the child which you seem ready to do.

I know My life is going to go bye bye but I'm perfectly fine with that.

I need to get a job still. and a car.

What we need to do is cheer him up. Cause sure finding out your a father is great news but not so much wen you learn that it was cuase your girlfriend was stupid enough to do you while drunk and not the other way around. Hope you feel better knowing that you will become a father to a son/daughter.

I always thought I'd do a OK job at being a dad because of my sisters.

I'm little excited but not at the same time. I'd be neat to have a kid but, It's a lot of hard work.

Being a father at such a young age isn't much to be proud of. This isn't the old days where 13 year-old girls would get married to adults and have as many children as possible to work on the farm (just a generalization. Nowhere near historically correct). This is the 21st century where having a kid is based on socio-economic status.

No, it pretty much is his fault for not wearing a condom. If he wasn't so drunk, he would've been able to make a good decision.

As he's mentioned, She was sober.
Sober = ability to think of wearing a condom

No condoms to be found here...
Hm...
HER FAULT AS WELL!

Case closed.
Thank you for your assitance, Watson.

No, it's not punishment enough. He should be reported to the local authorities, so they can give him the proper punishment.

What 'proper punishment'?
It was underage girl having sex with an underaged boy.
This stuff happens all the time.

If I recall, they have movies and TV shows about the sort

(Juno, The secret life of an american teenager).

I'm not judging his character as a whole, I'm just saying, that because of one bad thing, it can lead to more bad things. Also, just because he stepped up to the plate, doesn't mean he can bat a home run.

OH PLEASE.
You judged the MTB from what she wore, ya prick.

Everyone makes mistakes, and they have to be worked out.

Yes, you pretty much can judge a scenester by how they look. And I don't drink, and I always wear a condom, so I don't have much to worry about there. I mean, if the condom does break, an abortion is happening asap.

OH MY GOD.
*Vomits*

I would rather take my own life rather than have my kid have no chance to live whatsoever. Sex comes with consequences. Even if you practicing safe sex, you better own up if anything were to happen.

You may have some right morals, but you have a TWISTED mind.

I'm not rubbing salt in the wound. It doesn't sound like he's fully grasped the magnitude of this situation. Despite what they're saying about still going to college and fulfilling their dreams, a baby, especially at such a young age, can and WILL hold them back. If you want your kid to turn out right, there's really no substitute for a stay-at-home mom and a dad working 9 to 5. if you guys are both going to college and working to support the kid, you won't be there for him much. Also, financial issues are a BIG cause of separating, and that can mess a kid up too. (Everybody: don't tell me you're perfectly fine even though your parents split up, because this is a fact.) So they're either going to have to accept the fact that they're going to be under some serious financial strain (especially with the parents hating everybody, that's not going to work out too well money-wise), or one of them will have to postpone or give up college so they can take care of the baby and help it develop (emotionally, mentally, socially) properly.

He hasn't fully grasped the maginitude?
i don't think you've grasped your intelligence yet.

He's having a bloody kid.
And if the grandparents cared enough for their grandkid's welfare, they would help even through the hate.

Leave penguin tacharine. he is an ass enough dont fight with him. Anyway yeah you might not be excited and sure your going to be critisized and be turned down a lot by the society but if you have enough pride and hold your head up and show that your responsible and proud no matter how bad you are treated the society in the end will help you reap the rewards. So yeah its all about courage and pride and some heart. and im sure any person can do that with enough effort.

Sorry, I couldn't help myself.
Anyone who is that much of a prick to respond to every single one of my replies is worth countering. :P

Anyway, Syrex, I would take the advice you've gotten so far (You know, besides Penguin's), and accept it.

there is no need to be repeating ourselves, and all the things that have to be said have been said.

Do you think you can handle it now?

No. If HE was sober, he would've been able to say "hey, we don't have a condom, so let's find one or wait until next time."

The proper punishment for UNDERAGE DRINKING.

OH PLEASE.
You judged the MTB from what she wore, ya prick.

I told you, in my experience, 100% of scenesters are [whatever I posted earlier].

OH MY GOD.
*Vomits*

Ok, so if I'm practicing safe sex, and the COMPANY that makes the safe sex tools screws up (namely ineffective pill and broken condom), I shouldn't have to pay.

You may have some right morals, but you have a TWISTED mind.

I don't have a twisted mind, I just have some odd morals :P

He hasn't fully grasped the maginitude?
i don't think you've grasped your intelligence yet.

I believe I have. I mean, 4.0 GPA in college says so, right?

He's having a bloody kid.
And if the grandparents cared enough for their grandkid's welfare, they would help even through the hate.

Meh. It depends on what they hate her for. I mean, if Syrex was my kid and he was dating a scenester (that probably wouldn't happen anyway, because I'll definitely teach him better), I definitely would hate her will all my power :)

Yep. That's all I have to say about that post.

No. Society will beat down anyone that deviates from the norms, folkways, and taboos. No matter how much success you have, there will always be that "oh, he had a kid in his teens? ..." mentality of society. I will not change in our lifetime, and probably won't change ever.

She might seem like a scenster but the inside counts not outside. You sir are a mighty fine idiot in all forms. I mean the girl i like seems like a typical shy girl with possibly no brains but hell she is like a loose cannon with a stubborn head and a heart of gold. Thats what counts not what she looks like. But you got to admit she has to be a bit idiotic for doing that. I bet she was drunk too. If you were drunk how would you know if she wasnt?

... Flamin', much? It's best if everyone just ignore Penguin, as no one could relate to his beliefs and morals. Besides, 2-3 against 1? C'mon!

@Syrex: Congratulations? I just have to say that it wasn't that wise to do that while one is intoxicated, but I'm sure that you've learned from your mistakes. I hope that your parents won't kill you for this. Also, I praise you and your mate for not gettin' an abortion. In my eyes, it's wrong to end a life before it had the chance.

Also, you're underage, right? As you're becoming a father, I think you should stop on the alcolhol. It'll be good for you, the baby, and everyone else around you.

What kind of clothing do you wear again?

Does your partner know how to cook, clean, etc.. as well? If not, then it's best if you take care of the baby while she tries to go to college. Also, you should really ask your family members to help you out, even if some might question your action.

Again, congratulations! From what I've heard, you sound like a good father. ^^

Syrex, you're eighteen (I presume?) and you have probably eight months to get yourself prepared. I would tell you're parents, get yourself a job, get a car, and start saving up as a child, espeically in this economy, is going to screw you over.

tight jeans. bandshirt, slips on vans.

She knows how to cook and clean as well.

My fam would always suport me but i need to work up the guts to tell them first.

I see no reason to judge you on what you wear..

Well, you can always talk about who would take care of the baby and who would make the money and get an education.

If you know that your family would support you, then there's no reason to hesitate. I know, it'll probably be very awkward and someone would definitely overreact, but if you don't do it now, then something bad might happen. It's best if they hear it in person, rather then from someone else.

You should probably dump the whole tight jeans.
It's been proven that they actually decrease sperm count.
(not that it would matter to you with fertilization methods, but it's never a good thing if everything works out with you, the kid, and MTB and If you EVER wanted another kid with her when your an adult or something.)

Okay good, she can help too.

It shouldn't be that hard.

They will be probably told by the other parents, or notice MTB has "let herself go".

Okay. You've put in your fifty cents, so go and forget it, your not giving him advice to solve his problem are you? Your criticism isn't constructive, it's destructive.

Okay, erm... Well I suppose if you work hard you can take care of him and do college, but you basically just made you life a lot harder.

The only advice I can give you is to work hard, learn your lesson, and try to avoid getting drunk/having unprotected sex.

Ok fine. My advice:

Stop drinking, and get an abortion.

I'm pretty sure someone claiming that they're that intelligent they wouldn't be wasting their time on a pokemon forum

And I guess the only thing you can do is to find out if you are the father Syrex, not unless she took advantage of you being drunk and slept with some other guys at the party :x

oh, I waste my time on a LOT of things :) Namely Silkroad Online and Counter-Strike. So a pokemon forum isn't too different. Besides, I play pokemon, so why not be here?

I agree with Penguin here. A baby is a huge responsibility. Syrex, you and your girlfriend are probably going to have to devote more time to your kid than you think.

I could be a better parent than my aunt!
Her kids love me. I've been taking care of my sisters since i was 12.

My mom was never home. I learned how to cook, clean well, change diapers all that stuff.

I'm a easily fit parent.

That's good, but you have enough time and money on your hands to care for a child? And if not now, will you in the future soon if this pregnancy happens?
