we can encourage them to use it for hacking purposes, and teach them how it's done

just set up a couple of guidelines & discourage them from obtaining pokemon from there

then we can have them post their findings in a thread with a screenshot provided of the hack. the screenshot can be used in multiple ways. to ask questions why it appeared as a hack not going to help them fix up their hack though, provide proof that someone found a hack, and ultimately we can use that to update the black list

Hack Checking Guidelines
How to get started
• Pokecheck works for both 4th and 5th Generation games. Register an account there. Follow the directions to upload your Pokemon to the site.

• For 4th Gen, it provides legal.exe. For 5th Gen, it provides its own basic legality analysis.

Submitting Pokemon to Pokecheck
• Your original Pokemon do not leave your game. The game will still send the Pokemon to the site. If successful, the game will result in error 13266.

• Error 13267 means that the Pokemon is natually rejected by the GTS server. This means that the Pokemon may already be badly hacked or has a censored nickname.

• PokeCheck cannot accept Pokemon rejected by the GTS server, such as those holding a Classic or Premier ribbon.

• This service requires converting your Pokemon into a .pkm file. Your Pokemon remains unaltered. If you are wary of .pkm files, you don't have a way of hack checking.

Interpreting PokeCheck's Analysis
• For Gen IV, ___ (they should most likely provide screenshot unless i find a way to upload legal.exe's original guide about un/restricted junk, unknown gba, etc)

• Unlike Gen IV, one cannot simply check the PID-IV relation of the Pokemon. A little extra common sense is required to determine if something is not quite right on the Pokemon.

• For Gen V, Pokecheck easily highlights all red flags. Common signs of hacked Pokemon include but are not limited to:
This Pokémon is missing DPPt hatch trash bytes.
Invalid terminator sequence in trash bytes.
Ability not matching PID
Move is Hacked / Event only
Unknown GBA PID
Invalid hatch/met location
EVs Invalid, total is over 510
Cherish ball on non-wifi event.
This Pokémon is not nicknamed but its name doesn't match the species name for its OT's language

• Although you may ask simple questions about the legality results, no one will provide reasons to fix the error. We are not here to help others create own hacks to pass the legality check.

Notice about malicious use of Pokecheck
• Public Pokemon downloaded from Pokecheck are highly discouraged from being traded here. In fact, the Premier Ribbon attached to most downloads make the Pokemon illegal.


Blacklist Guidelines
• Save time by first checking your Pokemon against the Blacklisted OT/IDs.

• Upon discovering a hacked (illegal) Pokemon, please share a screenshot of the legality results or post a link to its non-private page. This will provide us the information needed to add the Pokemon to the Blacklist.

• Alternatively, when submitting a hacked Pokemon to the Blacklist, provide its species, nature, OT, ID, and whether it's shiny or not.

• If you are reasonably suspicious of false positives (hacked Pokemon passing the legality check or legal Pokemon turning out hacked), post it here.

Hey Twilightblade I am thinking about opening up my own thread here and on smogon. I got a modest horsea you breed for me about a week ago and was wandering if I credited you with the rng That since I can clone I could put it on the thread as availible trading material? The thread I am going to make is mostly for events with whatever other pokemon that I can get permision to trade on it as well. If I cannot trade it no problem. I just do not have the skills or capibility to RNG on my own.

Thank you for your permission Twilightblade. I will hopefully be getting the threads up by saturday (my day off of work) And most of the pokemon I do have including the events have really bad I.V.'s so the only trading value I have are the events and the RNGed pokemon I get from others. So thank you again.
