This was actually quite decent as far as the fillers go. Psyduck, Psyduck...I actually started to miss Misty's Psyduck during this episode.
While watching this episode, one specific thought kept repeating itself: what exactly was keeping Ash, Brock, and Dawn from climbing up the cliff and just going around the Psyduck? After all, Ash seemingly had no problem just flying over their heads (even if the Psyduck were somewhat distracted, which I will come back to in a moment), so why not climb to the top and use Buneary's Ice Beam to slide back down? No, instead the three trainers decided to send their Pokemon at the Psyduck one after another as if they were bombs of some sort. Then Team Rocket shows up for whatever reason and gets launched without really doing anything.
Samba Brock has returned as a distraction, I see, although the expressions given off by the Psyduck gave more an impression that they were just as blindly confused and freaked out as Dawn was. It was actually cute, though, and at least the writers are keeping a bit consistent with it (I believe the "lyrics" were the same as before).
Team Rocket gets blasted away for real later on, letting Ash & co. discover the Muk taking over Psyduck Lake in a last-minute-ditch move not at all unfamiliar to the show. Pikachu...promptly manages to blow up the water. Oh, how I love how little sense this show can make at times.
The announcer mentioned that "everybody ends up happy" when the main characters get involved, so I wonder if this means we will see Team Rocket happy soon, as well.
Brock: "Your guess is as good as mine."
...Ah.
