If you haven't guessed I wrote this poem about the book The Giver. It's a really good book if you haven't read it. This was written for a project in my Language Arts class at school.
    Read and review, please!

    The Recieving of Memories

    His hands on my back,
    My busy mind going slack.

    A terrifing memory,
    Started to fill me.

    War and blood,
I would scream if I could.

    His hands leave me,
    I gasp, with labored breathing.

He looks at me with sad eyes,
This is leading to his demise.

    With a tearful look,
He motions, I'm off the hook.

    As I ride home,
I decide I want to be alone.

    These memories I do hate,
    But I recieve them,
Because the Giver's thirst I must sate.

Hmmm...The Giver doesn't seem to ring a bell.
The poem, however, is great. I really liked it!
    Keep up the good work.

Hmmm...The Giver doesn't seem to ring a bell.
    Neither to me. XD;

I don't think the poem is bad at all. It has a nice rhyme as well.
So.. have you described about the story of the book in this poem?

Wow, I'm surprised more people haven't heard of/read the book. It even won a Newberry. 0.o

Anyway, I love the poem, and I remember this part in the book. I don't have anything bad to say about it, nice work on this one!

@missingno: thanks so much. well i hadn't heard of the book until i read it.

@lilly: thanks too. lol. i'm an 8th grader and we just read the book in class.

I remember The Giver, it was a very good story. I absolutely love this poem, it's so...emotional. Powerful in a subtle way. It's hard for me to explain, but I don't have any criticism of it.
