The Safari Zone is a special preserve for rare wild Pokémon. They usually feature several areas with different Pokémon avaliable in each area. Trainers do not initiate Pokémon battles with the wild Pokémon, but instead must catch them without battling them. The wild Pokémon within Safari Zones are capable of fleeing at any given time.
    • The Safari Zone in Hoenn, located north of Route 121.
    • The Safari Zone in Johto, located north of Route 48 (HeartGold and SoulSilver only).

Did you enjoy the ability to rearrange the six area to suite you? Did you enjoy the unlimited steps and time limit? Feel free to discuss other features of the Safari Zone as well!

All I'm going to say here is that HGSS' Safari Zone should've been a thing for every single generation after Gen IV because that's how the Safari Zone should be.

What's funny is that I tend to forget that the Safari Zone exists in HGSS. Especially since there's so much to do post-game already and they don't really give us a reason to re-visit it. In turn, I really did enjoy the Great Marsh!

I always miss the Safari zone. Every time there's not a Safari zone it's like another dig at what is and isn't in the game. Like it's going to eventually be another casualty of time, much like the Game Corner (ever enjoy playing Voltorb flip? No?) and now, the Bike apparently. It sucks and I hope that there's another chance for a true Safari Zone to shine. I agree, Heart Gold and Soul Silver Version's Safari Zones brought a whole new amount of depth to the game and another thing to visit.
