This place has always intrigued me. Located near Fortree City, if you surf in the lake, you will find a cave named Scorched Slab. Home to almost no Pokemon, it is the home of a TM, Sunny Day.
Do you think in ORAS, this useless cave will have a meaningful part in the storyline this time?
Discuss!
Oh, good, someone else (and others as well, it seems) is/are bothered by this seemingly-important-yet-underwhelming cave along with me! :P This cave has bothered me to no end; I've had ideas ranging from a Groudon-esque spot to an elaborate battling facility.. XD I don't think it'll become too integrated in the plotline, although I hope something else is there (preferably Fire-type related).
Placing the Blazikenite would work well either here or at Mt. Chimney, in my opinion... (especially since it's as "one-off-ish/unique" as the Scorched Slab itself..
I've suggested in several threads that it could house the Mirror for the Therian formes of the Kami's. The cave is based on the cavern Amaterasu is said to have hidden away in (hence why Sunny day is the thing you find there). A mirror was involved in take her out of there. Plus Amaterasu is a Kami, so Pokemon based on Kami's will fit.
Ooh; this would work perfectly! And it's a bit out of the way, too, so the item required for Kami Trio Forme change can still be placed in the game without looking too overt..
They could probably hide a Heatran in there (and I would like them to, to be honest), but that seems too far fetched. If it didn't mean something in the originals, I doubt it'd have any more meaning in the remakes, apart from renovations.
This.
The fact that they give you a useless TM, but named the place to make it sound important always bothered me. Why go through the trouble to name an area and just have that TM, but have no backstory or anything else hidden inside? I'm actually hoping they do something with it, because it sounds like it would be an interesting place to go, yet they did nothing with it. It's wasted potential, I think.
This. I don't Sunny Day is that useless nowadays (especially with more Pokemon being able to learn it via infinite-use TMs), although it does lose its spark when Drought-Ability Groudon rears its head..
