Kratos when, for some reason, I'm not using him and he's on auto
Kratos runs up to enemy. Slashes twice. Runs around in a circle. Runs back up to enemy. Slashes once. Is hit, somehow, by some major combo from, like, a giant ladybug. Recovers from being stunned. Runs away from enemies. Casts First-Aid on Lloyd, regardless of whether Lloyd is missing 2 or 7000 HP. Also regardless of whether anyone else is dying. Runs back into the fray, slashes twice. Runs around in a circle. Repeat.

Anyway, the Tales manga is only in Japanese and it's hard to find. Not to mention expensive when you add in shipping charges, etc. For three volumes it would have come out to $50-something Canadian, at least. That's about...$42 USD? T_T; I have the money, my parents just won't let me order it!
 
Kratos' AI is perfect...as perfect as an AI can be anyway. He at the very least can pull his combos off without a lot of problems. Kratos and Genis's AI are the best ones for me. Presea is somewhat mediocre. Sometimes she just stands there for a minute for two.

I just replaced Sheena with Genis. Indignation Judgment pwns.

EDIT: Erica, your Kratos' AI works the same way as my Zelos' AI.

My Raine AI is really good I think....so is my Zelos :3
 
Ah, okay now that you mention it, my Kratos tends to do the *slash* *slash* *runs around in a circle* thing too. But I don't have any issues with him healing randomly. O_o;

My Zelos AI is pretty perfect. <3 Except for when he just stands there doing absolutely nothing. XD

Genis's AI is alright... just not at the beginning of the game. Then he sucks. But for most of the game, he's a pretty good AI. I don't usually use Presea or Regal, so I dunno about them. And I usually fight with Sheena or Lloyd, so I don't usually have them set to auto or else I get confused as to who I'm fighting as. XD;

I don't know too many people... I'm sure a lot like it, but won't admit it. <_<

The brother and sister were my anime buddies. I tried to force the brother to play Tales of Symphonia, but he was like "tos suck0rz" but he was just being a moron. AND HE PLAYED POKEMON. That's like... a miracle, someone my age playing pokemon and them doing it in the open.

I think his sister might have played it too, but we didn't talk much after she left middle school and I was stuck in the eighth grade. <_< Sadly, they went to another high school. I miss them. ;_;

I got another boy to play ToS though... He's like a cross between Genis and Zelos, he even has red hair. He started playing it in Tethe'alla, so he had no idea what was going on. ^^ The only anime he watched was YYH.

Then there was the other kid who I forced to play ToS, but he thought it was stupid. He might have liked it more if he got better scenes, but he got some of Colette's worst moments. I have no idea where he went. o_o

There's this other girl who likes anime, she watches just about everything that comes into the US. But she smokes crack. o_o

The last girl I know that likes anime is Japanese. She can speak it, translate it, all that stuff, it's awesome. I tried getting her to play ToS, but she got horribly confused by the system and gave up. She's not used to RPG's. XD

And my Presea sometimes just randomly stands there doing nothing too. She hasn't been doing it lately, but she's been getting poisoned, paralyzed, and everything else quite a bit recently.
 
I never set Kratos on AI, so... I don't know. xD

But when I fight against him... he's pretty smart. Lloyd got killed. xD

[EDIT] ...Yeah, alot of people I know who liked anime and gaming were confused by ToS' system. xD;;;

Give her a Karona Seal then. It stops all status ailments from working.

Miyu: That reminds me of when I first started playing. I (Lloyd) got killed and I didn't know how to revive myself, so I had to watch the AI fight.

D'oh! I forgot to mention how his spells are interrupted half the time. <_<

My Lloyd's AI is probably my best one. I never use him anymore, so I notice it a lot. o_o It could just be he's probably my strongest character, so the few hits he gets in happen to be better than mostly everyone else's. @_@

Oooh... and my Genis AI is awful. X3 Whenever I'm up against an elemental enemy, he casts spells of its element...which are either ineffective or they heal the enemy; can't remember which. Very annoying.

I've forced all my friends to play TOS whether they like anime or not. o_O

My Lloyd seems to always get paralyzed. It's so funny because when I fight really easy random battles I'll just button mash as Lloyd since I'm too lazy to really fight it. Then Lloyd'll get paralyzed and I'll keep button mashing without looking at the TV... then I eventually look up to see I've wasted so much of my energy pressing buttons for nothing. It amuses me. XD;

That's almost like how I trained when I first started playing. I would set it so the AI controlled all four characters, use a Dark Bottle, and taped the control stick up to make the on-screen character run up against a mountain. Battles galore. Then I did something else for a minute for two before I came back and used another Dark Bottle.
 
I tend to use a Life Bottle, and then a few seconds afterwards Raine tries to revive the person I just revived. Other than that, she's pretty good. Usees the right things at the right times and on the right people. And I love Kratos because he doesn't heal anyone except me. Lol I never use Colette because she keeps tripping. Genis seems to like trial and error. He'll keeping use different attacks until he's found it's weakness, even if it's obvious or if he just beat the same enemy.
 
Here's my walkthrough on the characters.

Lloyd is probably the only character im good at using. -_-; His tech aren't my best favorites, but there pretty decent like Sword Rain and Tempest Techs. I hate what he wears though. Sheena is second but the only reason I used her is because of the Kuchinawa Side Quest. Anyways, I can also make some nice combos with him (only up to 64)

Raine is my White Mage of course, and she was used in my party more frequently when she learned Photon. I NEVER used spell casters (Excluding Kratos/Zelos and Shena {If she counts}) Her Revitalize spell is always in my shortcut menu, definitely with Abyssion/Sword Dancer

Genis is my Black Mage and the most colorful character in my party. The only down side of him is that you must choose from S or T type (So Hard). I liked the T Type better. I miss Earth Bite. It's awesome and very tight looking. But I had to get rid of Spark wave, therefore losing Earth bite to get Indignation. I still haven't mastered the tech glitch. X_x

Presea is my attacker, enough said. Equipping her with the Diablos and The Extreme Symbol has made her very powerful. It was sad that she left my party when we went to The Toize Valley Mine. Her techs don't really care towards me.

Kratos and Zelos are really now just regular warriors to me. Kratos was powerful in the beginning of the game. With his healing arts, High Hp, and attack, but now there just a normal fighter(s) Overall, there okay

Colette seems okay with her Angelic Techs like Judgment and Angel Feathers, which are very nice, but I don't like her much because all her other abilities bore me. POW Hammer is a funny move by throwing a rubber Hammer to the enemy. Overall, I don't like her in my party.

Sheena is a basic fighter, but very fast, which is good. Her Summoning arts are nice (That's the way that helped me defeat Kuchinawa), but I rarely use the S. Seal Techs. She can execute different Techs at a very fast rate, ending it with a Pyre seal, performing some decent combos.

Regal is just sad. His techs are sad and Healer probably sucks as well. I have no idea on how he cooks with cuffs and says he's good. Lowest level in my book and probably in everyone else's.

What was the highest combo have you ever executed? To the low 10's to the high 70's. I made it to 64, giving me the Combo Expert Tittle.

Here are my characters in battle:

Lloyd: Nothing here to worry about. While controlling him, I can guarantee to get at least 30 hits using a Sword Rain: Alpha plus some other Sword Rain Variation. AI's cool to look at, too. The way the AI pulls off combos...it's unbelievable.

Colette: I made a post about her in an earlier post. I'm just lazy x.x

Genis: He can be really inconvenient in boss battles. You know, using ineffective or healing attacks on the enemy, the works. Which is why I choose which attacks he'll be allowed to use before the battle starts.

Raine: I've posted about her, as well. I'm lazy, sue me ^^:

Kratos: Love using him in a battle. He knows when and when not to use attacks. He's been even more useful since I taught him the EX Compound Skill Slasher (I think that's the one which allows him to do a 6-hit combo instead of three or four). I don't control him that much, since he's a little slow movement-wise...

Sheena: I can leave her by herself as well. Killer combos, good summons, the works.

Regal: No. Just no. He has been completely useless in battle...he can't even get all his combos right!

Presea: The good ol' powerhouse. With the Suppress Compound Skill, she doesn't take any damage from much weaker enemies...which can be convenient when training for grade. I tend to use her most often in battle because of the combos possible.

Zelos: Refer back to Colette and Raine X.X

And there ya go! ^^


EDIT: My biggest combo was 101. First a unison attack of Sword Rain: Alpha, Hammer Rain, Cyclone, and Air Thrust (I had Lloyd, Colette, Genis, and Zelos, btw), and then a Compound Attack of...dang, I forgot the name, but it was that star thingy compound attack...I'm talking about the Lloyd/Colette one, not the Prism Stars compound attack...anyway, that's how I got the 101-hit combo.

Yes, I should do that, but if I do, I'd have to change his titles to a non-giving attribute one. Really, I never got to complete the Aifred Sidequest because I overwrited my game after beating Yggdrassil. Thanks for the help anyways :classic:

My party is usually Llyod, Presea, Genis, and Raine. Sometimes, it depends on the situation, I'll use Zelos, but that's only if my brother wants to play. Me and him did the 64 hit combo. Next time im going to use the Unsion Attack to perform a nice combo.

I have. I think the only one's I've gotten are Lloyd's and Zelos' though...No idea how I got Lloyd's. o_O

Character breakdown!~

Lloyd: Run up, slash things, guard. That's basically my strategy for him. He's a good melee unit (what'd you expect? He IS the main character~) and has AWESOME techs. Falcon's Crest > j00

Colette: I never EVER used her as soon as I got Raine. EVER. Unless I needed to, like in those seal battles...so I can't say anything on her o_o; Although, she sucks at Coliseum...

Genis: AI is excellent, me = not. Just turn off the techs you don't want to use, and he ish the powerhouse. Between Lloyd/Sheena, his spells never get interrupted. EVER. (Me <3's Compund EXSkill Concentrate <333)

Raine: OMG. What would we do without Raine? (Good question...) Same as Genis, basically. Once she learns Photon, ph34r her >D

Kratos/Zelos: I don't mind using them as my character controlled. He's pretty fast, although his spells take forever. Is it me, or does Zelos seem a bit faster on the battlefield?

Sheena: OMFG. I absolutely loove using her as my character. She fast, decent attacker, and has pwning Summons. Only downside is her low HP count, but if you master the backstep + guarding, you shouldn't have to worry about it.

Regal: Take. Him. Out. Of. The. Game. He. SUCKS. >>

Presea: Tank. I think of it as Lloyd with a heck of a lot more HP. I had a very hard time decinding who to use in my first playthrough: Sheena or Presea. I ended up going with Presea, though.

Highest combo? I think it was like 104 hits on the Dragon. I used Omega Tempest, Kratos used a tech I can't remember, Colette was standing there, and Genis was delaying a Tidal Wave spell. I think Kratos used something like...hm, Hell Pyre? and I let Genis do Tidal Wave, and right before it ended, I used the unison attack. Lloyd: SR: Beta // Colette: Hammer Rain // Kratos: Can't remember // Genis: Tidal Wave.

lmao I beat the Coliseum using nothing but Para Ball.

Exactly. I started using him with the instant spell casting trick. Everything dies so fast.

Zelos' attacks have more of a flow like a dancer. And yeah, I think he's faster than Kratos.

You can get Zelos' costume events directly after the night at Flanoir (before you head to the Tower of Salvation) if you want to get his costumes before you kill him... which I have yet to do... I've tried to do it 4 times now, but couldn't go through with it... ;___;

Zelos/Kratos are the only characters I control (unless they're not in my group, then I use Lloyd). And Zelos is a bit faster than Kratos, yes. Trust me. XD Regarding spells, I really only use them when I need to heal myself (First Aid, baby! <3), unless I'm up against a REALLY slow enemy like the big turtle and Ice Warrior on Advanced Class... but in close-range battles, gimme Hell Pyre and S. Lightning Blade anyday of the week. <3 And having a Holy Symbol/Faerie Ring combo helps too. And if you have Speed Cast (and/or Concentrate), you're in good shape when casting spells.

And my max combo is 112, I think... I love Stardust Rain, even though I HATE Colette. >.< I got to use SR twice in a row thanks to Lloyd's L.Unison EX Skill (sometimes keeps the Unison Bar full after using a Unison Attack). ^_^

Oh, and once I get him, Zelos NEVER leaves my group. :D <3 That is, 'til the Tower of Salvation. >.< Then I'm stuck with Lloyd for a little while... ^^;;;
