Goal of the day:

Capture a Venipede for Poison type and mandatory tough Bug pokemon challenge.

I am currently playing this right now. But I had a quick question involving the post apocalyptic future Era. Are Dark and Rock types allowed initially if you aren't playing HGSS, or GSC? Or are they disallowed? I'm playing Black, y'see, and I've encountered many tempting Purrloins.

Also about the based defense greater/equal to 116. Does this mean when you first catch them, or do they have to be there when I am about to complete the challenge?

It would be better if you just posted updates in new posts. It's easier for me to keep track of updates that way, especially when updating the thread, than to come back to one post, looking to see your progress >u<

The Johto game rules only apply to Gen 2 and its remakes because of the player having to go through 2 regions. So, whoever's playing any Johto game gets a few extra types in their team once in Kanto. The only exception is the Medieval Era which allows anyone to get Dragons in their team after the 3rd Gym and the Progressive Era that features no Johto game rules at all.
So, basically, you don't get those extra types in any other game. So, you can't get Dark types in your Black run of Post-Apocalyptic.

However....

You can use Rock types due to the 116 and higher base defense clause in the Post-Apocalyptic Era.
From what I've picked up here and there, a Pokémon's base stats are its stats at level 100 if it had 0 IVs in all stats and no EV training was done on it. (anyone feel free to correct me if I'm wrong).
There's a handful of Pokémon that have a base defense stat of 116 or higher. And actually, I'll make it 115 or higher instead, to give people more choices.
So, with the rules allowing you to use Pokémon with a base defense of (now 115) or higher, you can even include a Dark type in your team. For example, Scrafty's base defense is 115. And there's quite a handful of Rock types with such high base defense.
Hope that answered your questions ^^

Tiny Update:
Reduced the base defense stat required from the Post Apocalyptic Era from 116 to 115 in order to give people more Pokémon to choose from.
Added a link to a list of Pokémon by base stats, to make it easier to find them when planning out a team.
Added a tiny clarification about the base stat rule.
I will update all my challenges threads with the new challengers and champions within the next few days.

Glad I could help ^^
If you ever have any more questions, feel free to ask ^^

Will do, thanks for the help!
