The Underrated Video Games and Characters Thread.

Underated game: Tales of symphonia--one of the most overlooked games, since it was on the gamecube a lot of people didnt play it, but i believe its the best jrpg on the cube (not much to choose from though).

Actually, Tales of Symphonia is a pretty popular game. Granted, it wwas overlooked at the beginning but when word got out that it was one of the best rpgs for the GC, I found it sold out at three stores.

Another overlooked game is Pokemon Dash. Are you guys telling me you never wanted a Pokemon racing game (okay, it's not really "racing" but it's close). An overlooked character would have to be Pikachu is SSB. He PWNs I tell you, PWNS!!!

Anybody who recognizes these pictures are good Earth "habitants".
LBA2 has forever a place in my heart as the best adventure/anything game I've ever played. Every time I bump into someone who's played it too, it's like we share this little special something feeling of happiness ^^*

Oh, and Team Poison, you're so right about Grim Fandango.

I've noticed how many games here are ones that come from well known lines of games (Mario, Sonic etc.), thus they're nowhere near being greatly underrated, eh?

To emphasise this point: Anyone heard of The Longest Journey (or Sub Rebellion, which I mentioned earlier here)? Exactly. >:[

I've heard about The Longest Journey. And its sequel. I never got to play them though :(

Ehe, I've got The Longest Journey and Dreamfall (and the soundtrack and artbook, limited edition boxset :D). Not really gone anywhere with them thus far though. x0

Ah, Dreamfall it was. They're not even old. But The Longest Journey recieved some award for best adventure game, didn't it? But I see what you mean, not many people know about it.
LBA2 was actually a french creation, that might have been a reason it's not very famous ^^; It was called something in the American version.

Guess some games have to go that way, and some games turn out to be mega-hits. It's..... darwinism in the gaming world x)

most underrated game: all the Tony Hawk skateboarding games, simply because there are to many skater haters out there. xD For me, theyve lasted longer than some of the more glorified games out there for PS2. Also, Re-Volt. Killer R/C racing game for the PC. it's been out forever, but people still play it because there are user-made tracks and cars to race. just like the example in my sig :D

most underrated character: luigi. he doesnt get all the glory he deserves. and hes green.

I think Haunting Ground is horribly underrated, as well as most other survival horror games that AREN'T Resident Evil. As much as I love it...there's better.
Tales of Legendia anyone? Symphonia is...very overrated. I love it just as much as anyone else, but come on. No one plays ToL, because Symphonia gets all the credit. :/

Most underrated game? It's between Sonic Adventure 2: Battle (so what if the voice acting and dialogue sucked? D8) and... Super Monkey Ball. Oh mannn, I could play that game for hours. It's incredibly addictive!

You're so right! ToS was an awesome game but because of it, Tales of the Abyss is so underrated. It's just as good guys, with possibly an even better storyline!

You should play ToL. It's fantastic. I'm trying to find ToA, but no luck. o.-

Other underrated games:
SHADOW HEARTS.
Oh my god, you guys, STOP COMPARING IT TO FINAL FANTASY. They're nothing alike! Shadow Hearts is far better. It's historical, fairly accurate, and a horror RPG. Ok, yeah, sure, Final Fantasy's good, but it shouldn't be the standard to which we compare all RPGs. That'd be like...comparing Princess Bride and Lord of the Rings to Hamlet, just because they all have knights in them. -_- Come on.
Shadow Hearts may have gotten gipped on it's sequel (Covenant), but that doesn't make the original bad.

One of the best games ever, thank you very much. Yet, everyone compares it to Grand Theft Auto. It's similar, but it's different. San Andreas will always hold a special place in my heart, but...Bully! <3
