I'm sorry, but when there are about 200 people on this website with a thread, name, icon or signature, paying homage to the one of the most overrated games I've ever seen, it gets me kind of annoyed.

I'll admit this, the music is odd but nice and when there's no random battles in an RPG, it's a plus. That's pretty much it. But I'm only saying this so you guys don't think I'm a troll.

The gameplay is schizophrenic as you need to look at both screens. Seriously, this game is more fun if you're playing with two people at once. Seriously, I tried that, the game was more enjoyable for both of us. But considering most people wouldn't think to try this. I know a computer will control the top character, then what's the point of them being there to begin with.

So people, I challenge you! Besides the clear difference from other RPGs, what makes TWEWY so special? Why is it the best game ever? And don't reply," What makes One Piece so good?"

1, One Piece is not my favourite anime, I'm just watching it a lot lately.
2, Don't change the subject!

And don't talk about the characters or the plot, tell me why the gameplay, you know, the thing that matters, is the best thing ever? I'm positive you can't.

Feel free to call me a troll. SMGKururu was called a troll and apparently he looked behind the fact that we're going back to Johto. I still agree that that game isn't going to meet our expectation.

Seriously though; in an RPG the gameplay isn't the one thing that matters. Sure, it does count for something - but that's like trying to quantify to "readability" of a book or something. TWEWY isn't a perfect game; but it did bring together the RPG trinity:

Excellent Characters
Intriguing Storyline
Wonderful Music

The fact that the gameplay may be a little off-beat isn't a consideration; the media elements that make you want to come back to play again are all there and all gel in a cohesive and wonderful manner. Pretty much zero RPG's have stellar gameplay - but they don't need to; they've got other assets to whet your appetite for more. And that's the grade of an excellent RPG; if it can make you come back after you've finished playing for the day.

That right there is a major cop-out. You can't disregard the gameplay in any game because that's what the game is. You can have a good game without good aesthetics, but you cannot have a good game without good gameplay. That's why I prefer the Final Fantasies over most other JRPGs: they have gameplay that isn't so grind-focused and is more versatile. Gameplay is also what made Pokemon such a memorable experience.

I haven't played TWEWY, so I can't speak for that, but I will say in ONEPIECEPWNS's defense that calling him a troll was totally uncalled for. Gameplay is the main edge that games have on other media, so it's stupid for JRPG fans to discount gameplay just because most JRPGs have crap gameplay. If you're only into JRPGs for the stories, art, and music, then go watch an anime and leave the games to those of us who care about gameplay.

It's neither conducive to discussion and you're just trying to get people to argue with you. You should've approached this subject with less flamebaiting, because you knew you'd be starting trouble. It's not wrong to give your opinion, but this is taking it overboard.
