    Wikipedia said:
The World Ends with You, abbreviated as TWEWY, and known in Japan as It's a Wonderful World (すばらしきこのせかい, Subarashiki Kono Sekai?, literally "This Wonderful World"), is an action role-playing game for the Nintendo DS handheld video game console. Developed by Square Enix's Kingdom Hearts team and Jupiter, the game features a distinctive art style inspired by the aesthetics of Shibuya shopping district and youth culture. The game was released in Japan in July 2007 and in North America, Europe, and Australia in April 2008.

The game is set within the "modern world" of Shibuya, Tokyo as Neku Sakuraba awakes to find himself in a struggle for his existence within a mysterious game constructed by a group known as the Reapers. Within a seven day time limit, Neku must complete missions assigned to him along with an eclectic group of people playing the Reaper's game. The game's "Stride Cross Battle System" utilizes several features of the Nintendo DS, including combat that takes place on both screens, and a series of "psych pins" that enable various forms of attack by certain motions on the touchscreen or by shouting into the microphone.

Now I don't know very much about TWEWY, but I plan on getting it either this weekend or next, and I'd like to know everyone's input on the game.

Well, I didn't think this game would be as popular as it is because I went to 2 Gamestops, Wal-Mart, Target, and BestBuy all in my area and came up with NOTHING. It was sold out everywhere, which made it just as bad as Mario Kart for Wii (which I also want). So I resorted to buying the game on BestBuy.com 2 weeks ago, only to have it be on backordered status, until yesterday, when it actually got shipped. So I'm finally getting my copy.

I really don't know too much about this game myself, but deviantART.com had a contest a month or 2 earlier and sparked my interest. I'm also a Kingdom Hearts fan so when I found out that this was made by KH's creator, I figured why not? I'm definitely buying the walk-through cuz I'm a 'tard. x)

I'm a bit leery though. I'm not much of a fighter game on DS because of its setup. I only really use my DS for Pokemon and Mario. But mostly Pokemon. XD

    But that's my imput.

Get it get it get it get it get it get it get it geti tig etiigsdgl

TWEWY is easily my favourite game on the DS. I got it just after it came out and, save for about a week when I picked up my PSP, I haven't put it down. The character designs are kind of ehhh since it's Nomura and he ran out of creativity ages ago, but everything else in the game is absolutely top-notch. The battle system is probably the most notable thing about the game and it's very innovative. You control both screens at once using the buttons for the top and the touch screen for the bottom. With over 200 pins, the different attacks you can set and customize yourself with never get boring. This is one of the few games where you can grind for hours and still have fun with every battle.

Tie that in with interesting characters and the intriguing plot and you've got a game that's worth every penny you spend on it. There's a reason it's nigh impossible to find everywhere. :D

Considering that Zero Punctuation is mainly satire and completely biased towards all games, I see no point in your post other than to bash the game or try to be "funny".

Next time a member wants information on a game, give them actual facts and YOUR opinion, not some ridiculously unfunny video.

EDIT: Figured I'd post about the game too. I actually have not played TWEWY, but given the fact that everyone that has played it loves it, I might borrow it from someone or go get it myself. I'm not much into this type of game though, but I've occasionally liked some like this. XD

I say that was close to pointless and didn't really influence my decision at all.
    Fair enough.

I'm not trying anything on. I honestly think Yahtzee makes a lot of valid (albeit obviously biast) points.

I'll be honest, the RPG formula was starting to get a little bit old for me. Just when I started thinking all Square Enix was going stick to are Kingdom Hearts, and Final Fantasy, along comes The World Ends With You. \o/

The game was well worth the investment. It took me about 13 hours to complete, and that's only just strictly following the story through playing it the first time. The combat is fun, if a bit complicated. There are plenty of RPG elements, and the graphics also relate to the game's overall style. Another thing to note is its pop-culture references. It really gets the player involved as I understood what the characters were saying. That's what brought it to life, and made it seem less like a game and more of a story. Few games have the uniqueness and originality that TWEWY does. It makes use of the majority of DS's features and I personally thought it stood out among other games.

    Tyler, it's a must buy, k? :<

This game is definitely worth getting. TWEWY is easily one of my favorite RPGs and one of the few DS games that interested me enough to even buy it. The story was excellent and the game mechanics are simply amazing. The battle system is very innovative and one of the best aspects of the game in my opinion. Everyone should be able to find a strategy that suits them with the wide array of pins available. This is one of the few games where level grinding is actually fun. I've spent hours beating up random enemies and I still occasionally do that when I have nothing else to do. Another great thing about the game is that customizing the difficulty is very simple. This can either be achieved by making enemies stronger or weaker (by adjusting the difficulty from the menu once you've unlocked a new difficulty level) or by dropping your level (along with your HP) to make battles harder regardless of difficulty.

And if you get tired of battling, there's always the tin-pin minigame, which is surprisingly addicting. =P Sure it may seem like a Beyblade knock-off, but it's fun nonetheless. I didn't think much of it at first, but after completing the story in Another Day, I found myself wanting more of it.

Hm... it seems like the story is great, that's kinda rare these days. I'll try and get it...

It is like probably the best game on the DS and is a definate must buy for some of the following reasons:
-The DS does not have exellent graphics for action games but this is a colourful anime style 2D action RPG.
    - It is an action RPG meaning it is not I choose thunder it does 20 damage but you tap the enemies on the touch screen to zap them to death but you can collect different powers and items to battle with so its very fun and not repetitive to fight enemies.
-The characters, soundrack and theme of city life are awsome making this game interessting and unique.
-The game is not very long without collecting more and improving characters, it is your choice in how long the game lasts but its made very fun to play for long and battle more to try out new powers and stuff.
-It is one of those awsome games that is different and new and therefore is like a must buy.

It really depends on what you like but if you like a mix of action with RPG and nice story and visuals buy this for sure!

I don't think he was trying to be funny at all, this thread was created to ask people what their opinions on the game was, correct? Maybe he just agrees with everything that was said there; regardless of whether or not you think Zero Punctuation is "Biased towards all video games," it's just a matter of that poster's opinion vs. yours. Plus to be honest...I found it pretty funny <_<

    Also: HAI KLIPPY 8D

Anyways, I just picked up this game 2 days ago after hearing how much everyone else seemed to like it. I haven't really gotten the opportunity to play all that much, but from what I can see, it looks pretty good so far. The battle system took some getting used to, and the dialog isn't really..that great, but the game looks promising.
