4th Gen The "WTF" Moment Thread

I was challenging the Battle Frontier, and in some battles, I used a Super-Effective attack on the opponent's Pokemon. Just when the battle might be over, the Pokemon would manage to survive the attack with just a little red HP left.

Also, that Fisherman trainer on Route 13 with nothing but Magikarps on his team. He needs different Pokemon besides....Magikarp.

One time, I was battling a guy over Wifi...

I sent out a Blaziken, level 100.
He sent out a Roserade, Level 100.
I Fire Blast'd him, and left him with about 1 hp.
He magical leaf'd me, and one hit KO'd me.
Wasn't even a critical hit

Even more WTF then when a guy's Abra one hit KO'd my Chansey that was EV'd to have close to 700 HP... with Psychic. I had max'd HP EV and spent the others in Def/Sp.Def too.

I have terribad luck sometimes at Wi-Fi battles...

I think these two things combined made me quit wi-fi battling for, like, ever.

WTF moment was the first time i got pokerus! I was training in the grass for a gym leader and after I went to go heal, the pokecenter lady was like. YOU HAVE POKERUS!!!

I got all worried and had to go google it :P

my WTF moment today was with the mime jr. wifi game
i was sure the top meant the top, but apparently it meant diagonal cuz every time i tired to be on the top (as in his head touchin the edge of screen) hed fall off O.o"

Okay, I was just walking around in this route from Cerulean City to Saffron City. Then suddenly I got this encounter. It wasn't any ordinary encounter. The whole screen swirled around before I knew it, I encountered Latias! o_O It's not that encountering Latias startled me but the fact that the whole screen swirled like that. I mean it's like... unexpected.

I was on PokeCommunity (a LONG time ago), with my DS next to me. I didn't look at the DS screen so I accidentally used a Poké Ball. Next thing I knew: I looked at my DS, "Gotcha! ENTEI was caught!" o___o

For some reason on my brother's Soul Silver, while he was trying to catch Groudon it used Earthquake and it hit his Lugia.

However, when he switched out and the second time Lugia came in, Groudon used Earthquake and it said "It doesn't affect Lugia"

Gravity was not in effect.

The first time I tried battling Red, his Pikachu took out half my team before commiting suicide with Volt Tackle. -.-''

And then his Venusaur took down Pidgeot before being beaten by Ninetales. And then Snorlax PWN'd me.

SR FTW. > .<

When Dunsparce missed 4 headbutts against Kingdra who used only 1 Smokescreen, and gets pawned by Dragon Pulse after the Kingdra missed 4 of his 5 Hydro Pumps.

i beat the entire upgraded elite 4 with empoleon lvl 58 infernape lvl 55 and gengar lvl 57. seeing as lance had a lvl 75 dragonite.. i was pretty shocked

Speaking of that fisherman on route 13, during my most recent rematch with him, he had a team of 6 level 18 magikarp. What a poor excuse for a trainer. ._.

Not really a WTF, more a phew-dodged-a-bullet-there-moment:
Just got the game, got a Cyndaquil, made got halfway towards Mr. Pokemon's house when a wild Weedle poisoned my Cyndaquil with about 17hp left. I ran toward the pokemon centre in Cherrygrove, hoping my Cyndaquil would survive. I got inside the centre, with about 3hp left, took one step, and suddenly:

"Cyndaquil survived the poisoning, and it faded away" (Or something to that effect)
I didnt even know pokemon could shake off poisoning!

Another thing, i noticed that in every single game, when you leave the mart, it says See Ya. Consistency WIN.

LOL you know that doesn't happen.... evar.... i think you broke your brain your ds

little did i realize while in battle frontier when machamp breaks through my protect on blissey with a dynamic punch.
I googled it and it turns out no guard can hit flying, digging, protect, detect, and even shadow force

*has new respect for machamp*

I actually had a good WTF for once!

Upon saving this morning I realised -

My entire team was at Level 69.
My Pokédex was at 69.
My time was at 68:57.

I wasn't going to pass up that oppurtunity. I waited the three minutes. My save file is now absolutely epic.

I was using my friend's HeartGold to trade over Uxie, Azelf, Mesprit and Cresselia from Diamond to SoulSilver. I was having him trade over worthless stuff, including a Lickitung. I went back onto my DS and I looked at the Lickitung. "PKRS." Then I was screaming at him for having an entire team of Pokerus pokemon. :P

I remember fighting Lugia in SoulSilver, and it had KO'd all of my team except for my Kingdra. Kingdra, being level 47, was my most powerful Pokemon. I shifted him in, and I used Dragon Pulse. It took off about a third of its HP, and it was still in the green. So I thought "Alright, another Dragon Pulse and a surf or two should bring it down to red." So I used Dragon Pulse, and it KO'd the Lugia in one shot.

And it wasn't even a critical hit.
