I have an urge to breed a Quasire and a Jellicent but I just made a Feraligatr and a Rotom Wash. Starmie is a Pokemon I've always wanted to train but I decided on using Barbaracle for my next play through. Why does Pokemon continue to make either really useful or really cool looking water types!? Just when you think there are plenty of cool water types they have to go and introduce Greninja!

Is water your favorite type? Who's your favorite water type?

I've always love Quagsire. Great fun to use in battle and look at 'is face, d'aww. Starmie is awesome, despite it's lack of a face. I kinda like Swanna because it's B/W sprite looks like a nagging mum. Male Jellicent has a moustache so that just wins everything.

No water is not my favorite type and my favorite water pokemon are Lapras, Wooper and Mudkip.

I think water type is the type with the most pokemon actually. I remember hearing that somewhere.

We need 'em because of all those damn water type HMs.

At least Surf and Waterfall are actually good to use in battle. Dive and Whirlpool maybe not so much... but they're certainly no Flash!

That's true. Although if accuracy-reducing moves were allowed in comp battles and you had a tank of a 'mon it could be anooying for your opponent >:)

By the way, if you have a thread for Drunklocke can you link me, in case i can't find it easily in Challenges.

edit: I don't see one, please make one lol.

I haven't done a drunklocke in a while. The last time I did I named myself Jonh instead of John haha No joke.

Same rules as a nuzlocke but you have to misspell your IGN haha Oh and you have to be drunk. And you have to take a shot every time a Pokemon faints.

That sounds like fun. I'd do it if I was able to drink heavily. You should make a YT series of you doing a drunklocke.

I thought about it but I would have no idea how to. I'd have to look up a tutorial or something.

Water is my favorite type, and Blastoise is my favorite water Pokemon (and favorite Pokemon overall, too). I've liked water types ever since I first started playing, and I never have a shortage of water types on my team. I used to use way too many of them, but now I've tried to cut it back to just my starter, for the most part. In some ways, that's a shame, because there are a lot of neat water types that I've bred, but never used on a team.

As for non-starter water types, the first one who played a staple role on my team was Quagsire in Gold. Good times.

I dunno what programs people tend to use for commentary but some emulators allow you to record gameplay IIRC. You can't use a capture card to record 3DS video apparently.

It's really strange. Blastoise has a huge following and I really love turtles but Blastoise has never been a favorite of mine. I really prefer Squirtle personally.

This may be sacrilege nowadays but am I the only person that prefers Frogadier's design to Greninja's? I love the tongue/scarf look but for some reason I think Frogadier looks better. It may be the colors. The lighter blue looks better than the darker I think (but that Greninja shiny... whoever designed that better have got a raise)

While we're on the topic of water starters Oshawott and and Dewott are awesome but Samurott? What were they thinking? What makes it worse is I'm a big movie fan and there's a bunch of great japanese samurai movies. Japan's most acclaimed director's most acclaimed movie is Seven Samurai... they make a samurai pokemon and its... poop. Ugly as useless in battle :(

(by the way I could record a drunklocke right now, I'm in that state of mind :) )

I like Milotic and Lapras the most, because they´re both beautiful, intelligent and elegant and great for competitive battling (at least in 2015).

Yeah, I'm not a big Samurott fan but it's prevolutions are amazing! I'm not keen on any of the final starter evos from Gen V. Serperior and Emboar's designs are a bit... ornate for my taste. Plus Serperior looks like a snobby git xD

Do the Drunklocke, damnit! Deliberately try to give yourself the most complcated rules and drink when you break a rule or a Pokemon faints. Volume dependant on your drink of choice and the severity of the rule break.

Oh heck yes, I agree. Waters have so much diversity that it's always hard for me to decide on one for each team. Some of my favorites are Starmie, Vaporeon, Politoed, Dewgong, Milotic, Clawitzer, Lapras, Azumarill.. the list goes ever on and on. D:

Starmie was especially great to use because of its movepool. Surf, Psychic, and Thunderbolt + very high speed and good special attack made it a star on any team.

Same. I love Squirtle and Wartortle but not so much Blastoise. A cannon turtle sounds awesome when written out but its design just isn't my favorite.

What do you guys think the water starter for Sun and Moon will be based on?

Different question, what cool underwater creature could they base a new Pokemon on that they haven't yet? A dolphin would look pretty awesome. Maybe since there's Pyroar and Helioisk who are part normal they'll make the dolphin part normal since it's a mammal. Just throwing ideas around.
