I'm sure a lot of you have experienced the uncommon Pokémon by now; some of which may appear in puddles found in sea/water routes, dust clouds throughout caves, and shaking grass basically in any route with grass patches in it.

    [PokeCommunity.com] There's a hole in the water!!
What do you think of this addition included in the games?

What Pokémon have you obtained with these additions - What Pokémon have you caught recently from one of these areas?

Do you think it's a nice replacement from use of the Pokéradar (not that it actually is, but may be considered so;)?
    Etc.

    Begin the discussion!

In most cases I find them interesting to say the least. If I'm hunting for a specific pokemon (say, Lapras) I use repels to speed up the process of finding these patches. Sure it's still got a low chance, but it's better than nothing. What bothers me most is the dirt spots in caves and how they give you useless gems all the time instead of the pokemon you actually want. So it's a love/hate I guess.

What do you think of this addition?: It's a neat feature, but I think they need to happen more often because some Pokemon can only be caught in this way, and some of those are insanely rare.

What Pokemon have you caught with this method?: Drilbur, Audino, Alomomola, Emolga. I did run into Pansear and Pansage once, but I reset without saving after getting them.

Do you think it's a good replacement for the Pokeradar?: Nope. The Pokeradar was a lot more convenient in Gen IV.

I think its pretty interesting, and quite fun to run around right outside grass to try to get it to shake. But also very frustrating..Like in tunnels and caves, when your running through, you see a dust cloud and as you run toward it get attacked by a Poke!...*cries*.

I find it aggravating that some pokemon are only available in these spots. It's time consuming and you might not even make it to the spots.

If they were more frequent and the chance of getting that evo stone I need was higher, they'd be a lot better. On a whole they're pretty good, I've caught Audino, Drilbur, Excadrill, Horsea, Alomomola, and Shellder (Which I need a frickin' Water Stone to evolve...RAAAAAAAAGE!!!!!) with this method, and it's OK. The Gems are nice, but I'd much rather have my PokeRadar back, thanks.

I found an audino, emolga, panpour, pansage, cinccino, seen drillbur and alomomola but haven't caught them. all in all it's not bad, I got an entire team up to level 80 on level 70 audinos

I found a lot of Audino in shaking grass. I did also found a lot of other Pokémon in these kind of spots, like... well, Tyranitar, anyone? And I think I'm going to like them because they give out a lot of experience!

its an awesome feature. but i wish they have added more pokemon in those patches. i think i caught many already. :)

Audino in shaking grass was a very nice upside of this feature imo. However I'd like the water-hole thing more if it didn't happen so often before I had access to the move Surf. =( That always annoyed me. XD

The Lilligant I found during my run through in Pinwheel Forrest was nice, because it was early in the game. Except for the Mild nature. So it stayed in the box.

I think it is a great feature. The only part about it that sucks is the dust clouds in the caves. The chances of running into a pokemon in those things is soooo low. On the other hand, I absolutely love the grass patches and the water holes.. I still don't think that is was a 100% sure fire replacement to the pokeradar, but it was a nice touch. Hey its a new region after all, so something new.

I have managed to capture a few pokes with these patches.. ect..
Audino (of course), Emolga, Tangrowth, Alomomola, Leavanny, Lilligant, Sawk, Luvdisc, Corsola, Pansage, Panpour, Pansear, Drilbur, Excadrill, Jellicent, Starmie

*edit: I did attempt to catch Dragonite, but with that 1% rate..... ehhh i gave up.

Well, I just found a shiny Audino in one of them! :D

What do you think of this addition included in the games? It's a good feature. I love those Audinos who give thousands of Exp. Points
What Pokémon have you obtained with these additions - What Pokémon have you caught recently from one of these areas? All the rare mons, including Metagross, T-Tar etc. AND A SHINY AUDINO!
Do you think it's a nice replacement from use of the Pokéradar (not that it actually is, but may be considered so;)? Not at all. I loved the Pokéradar more, but not the method of obtaining shinies, which was way too easy.

Audino in shaking grass was a very nice upside of this feature imo. However I'd like the water-hole thing more if it didn't happen so often before I had access to the move Surf. =( That always annoyed me. XD

I agreeeee. ;-; I love Audino-spamming but I didn't really know about it until the time I restarted my game. The only Pokémon I've caught from the shaking grass and stuff though is Drilbur because he's amazing and awesome. The rest have just been... eh. ;D

I caught a SHINY TYRANITAR!!!!!!!!! I swear not making that up people.

Well I think it's a pretty neat addition, but I honestly really hate the rares, I've been on route 1 fishing for a Milotic for ages. :O

Don't forget about the shadows for the duckies.^^

I have no problem with this new audition, it's kinda cool. I like going around searching for some Audinos to battle. :P

I've caught Audino, Pansage, Panpour, Lilligant, Leavanny, Sawk, Emolga, Ducklett and Drilbur with this new feature. Haven't had the chance to encounter a Pokémon from a puddle. P:

I love everything about the music for these encounters, the different animation when the Pokemon appear and just what appears in them. :D And whenever I see the grass shaking I rush to it. As for the flying spots, water spots, and ground spots (idek what to call them lol), I tend to not really care 'bout them cause I have this mindset that most of those Pokemon don't matter. :x

What do you think of this addition?:
Very nice addition, makes encountering Pokemon more creative.

What Pokemon have you caught with this method?:
Drilbur, Audino, Alomomola, Emolga and Tyranitar :D

Do you think it's a good replacement for the Pokeradar?:
Didn't use PokeRadar much so I don't know. Though, PokeRadar was more convenient, you don't have to wait to see the Pokemon, you can find them straight away... after 50 step :D

i thought they were annoying at first, took me 25 minutes to find my first drilbur....
