6th Gen These legends are a pain in the butt

OKAY, EXCUSE ME WHILE I RAGE.

I decided to finish the Delta Episode last night because I had been putting it off for way too long. So I beat Wallace (easily) and climbed the tower. I caught Rayquaza pretty easily, only took a couple Quick Balls. But oh no, the worst is yet to come.

Didn't get a chance to save before going up into space to battle Deoxys, so I realize then that I'm probably screwed. Deoxys being the level 80 beast that it is was a pain to even damage (without KOing). I lost 3 Pokemon, revived one (Gardevoir) and after throwing several balls and using several moves, Gardevoir's Thunderbolt paralyzes Deoxys.

Okay, things are looking good right?

I use another Thunderbolt, very little damage. It's fully paralyzed. I use another one for one last blow before throwing another ball (that would surely catch it being paralyzed and in red health). But I never got the chance - because my wonderful Gardevoir got a critical hit on the last Thunderbolt and killed Deoxys.

Screaming, crying, perfect storm. I can make all the tables turn.

And since I didn't get a chance to save after I caught Rayquaza, I'd have to redo the entire Sky Pillar if I wanted another shot. Meh, not worth it. But ugh. Raaaaage.

Then this morning, I start up my game to see if I have an legendaries on any islands. I find Mesprit. Sweet.

Is it gonna be forever or is it gonna go down in flames?

Down in flames bro. Down. in. flames. Swampert used Ice Beam to freeze it on the first try (yay) but even with it frozen and down to red health, Ultra Balls don't even come close to catching it. Like, what the frick? How is that even possible? What kind of impossible catch rate is this? And on a frekaing Mesprit? How hard is it gonna be catch the other, tougher Pokemon?

But I reset (because I saved this time...) and moved on. I'll find Mesprit later. I tried another island and found Terrakion. I used Camerupt to yawn it and put it to sleep. Great, but same problem. It's sleeping, incredibly weak, and it still won't be caught. I reset on this one too and soared over to Sootopolis to save and that's where I stopped.

I need to find a better way to catch these legends. But really though. So annoying.

Well if you want some tips:

1) Since you defeated Deoxys, simply beat the Elite 4 again and then you can rematch Deoxys all by himself (no going through the Rayquaza thing again)

2) All the other legendaries I haven't personally found too tough a time with them because I am using a level 100 Gallade with False Swipe, Hypnosis, Thunder Wave and Shadow Sneak all raised in Kalos/Hoenn and thanks to the Blissey secret bases getting Gallage up to level 100 was pretty easy (just EV train it first, because trust me, that WILL come in hand why battling the legendaries) Also, giving it Brightpowder helps a lot more than you'd think.

3) You can also go the weaker route with Smeargle (and you can teach it Spore which should be good for all but one of the legendaries, however, it is much weaker than Gallade, so you may want to just stick with that)

Oh, I can rematch Deoxys? That's very good to know. I'll have to rematch them soon.

I guess I should start raising me a Gallade then.

I've had incredible luck with legendaries, catching Rayquaza, Kyogre and Deoxys all within 3 attempts each. I know how it feels to be unable to catch stuff though, it's so frustrating!

Here are the best Poke Balls to use for legendaries and their catch rates to compare with Ultra Balls, which I'm assuming you're using because of the Mesprit part.

Ultra Balls: x2

Timer Balls: x4 after 10 turns
Dusk Balls: x3.5 at Night or in caves

You can buy Timer Balls in Rustboro after you talk to the Scientist outside of Rusturf Tunnel on the Rustboro side.
And Dusk Balls are sold in Fallarbor.
