Things left out of the Pokemon anime

I was referring to the earlier series. Dp has been the most faithful to the original storyline since the original Kanto series. I meant the earlier series (Johto - Battle Frontier) where they added pointless filler episodes. A lot of things people are complaining about came from that time-frame. We could have seen more rivals and more tension moments for fillers instead of random plotlines.

But hoenn/BF did prove to be one of best team the could competed against the "originals"
just look at the powerhouse Ash made.

The Whirl Cup arc could have interesting if it had been handled better. If they had done it so that all of Ash and Misty's Rivals (Gary, Jimmy, Silver from Gold and Silver, Giselle, Marina from the Orange Islands, Lorelei Prima, etc.) were in it and the prize was a universal Gym Badge like the what the Wallace Cup offered co-ordinators and Brock and Ritchie were going after the Lugia thing simulatniously it might have been interesting to have a lot of action going on at once.
 
Yeah, I think the leagues should only have introduced rivals to make it seem more realistic and one or two competitors we havent seen before. We do need small arcs and fillers to keep the show going of course, but i think the writers finally got it in DP by linking the story arcs with mini-arcs that send the characters to the right place, not random fillers. I liked the format the first 7 - 8 episodes had in basically going straight through the game plot, but if they had continued that the show would have ended about 45 - 50 episodes instead of the 80 episodes it took to get to the Orang Islands.
 
Right. Kanto- Johto weren't that good character and plot wise. In Hoenn they started character development, staring May, and better fillers. Now in Sinnoh, they have improved greatly and the next saga should be even better.

He's one of the most interesting characters in DP Battle Dimension.

I think its funny that Misty had no real character development until her 4 chronicles episodes after she left the cast. *smacks head in depression*

My only real problem now is that they have all these characters from the games that are major character, yet dont play any role in the anime. Jimmy's been in one made-for-tv movie, Marina is a top-coordinator but never met by ash's group, Brendan is a battle tower trainer as is lucas and Wally was written out entirely. These characters could have taken the place of all the unessecary characters like Harrison, Zoey, Tyson, etc.
 
It show actually seems to be foreshadowing Marina though. Imagine Dawn vs Marina. It is pretty sad about Misty. What's sadder is people say that she had anything before Chronicles.

If Marina shows up Jimmy better too! He and Ash meet watching Dawn and Marina at the Grand Festival and become rivals at the Sinnoh League. That would at least would correct some of the things I've talked about.

As a Misty fan I can say she did have a personality at the begining of Kanto before Togepi when she was a crazy psycho. That disappeared and then returned in chronicles then disappeared when she had Azurill. Brock's the breeder, he gets the babies; Misty, dont have kids you'll be boring with them.
 
They did mention Cut in a Johto episode(The one with the boy's scared Farfetch'd). As for Misty, I'm so glad she's gone. I'm seriously relieved. And Hoenn was really annoying. Almost everything about it irritating. And don't get me started with the Battle Frontier.
 
I'm still waiting for Blast Burn to make its debut.

It turns out that badges are merely for decoration and have no effect on Pokemon whatsoever.

Would have been nice to see Wally.

Lunick and Minun not being with Solana and Plusle didn't seem to feel right.
 
Yeah, its true that they leave out a fair few things, but I couldn't really see hms and tms doing much, and some characters are replaced by others (like zoey for lucas), and as for the hold items, i just dont think it would look right xD
And religion really wouldnt go with pokemon me thinks..

Well it's not like they needed a whole episode dedicated to it. That could have been where Ash got the clothes for Ashley, they just never mentioned it.

Like people said before, moves work differently. Even I don't quite like the idea of using some machine to teach my pokemon moves.

Day and Night your talking about the ones that evolve right? If your talking about those that only appear at night...they kinda do that naturally in the anime without introducing it as some new concept.

And they've been using evolution stones since forever. MANY occasions they have come up.
I belive Roark talked of fossils. (No, I KNOW he did, but just all...werid like.)

They've mentioned the stones many a time.

A couple examples being:

In the episode where Ash beats Lt. Surge, he debates on whether to evolve Pikachu with the Thunderstone.
And there was a whole episode based on the stones featuring Eevee. They were throwing a party with evolutionary stones.
