Thinking about buying some cards and starting to collect again..

    I went into GAME today and saw some pokemon cards and it made me think about when I use to collect them when I was younger. I really wanted to buy some there and then but not sure still :S

    Which are the best cards to begin collecting again at the moment, the ones I saw were called HeartGold and SoulSilver Unleashed..

    Would appreciate any help.. thank you :)
     
    Well if you don't want to collect all of the sets. I would probably start collecting from HeatGold Soulsilver.
    Which would be the most recent new series/gen.
     
    As long as you're not interesting in playing, then you can really collect from any set at all. Older sets are always more valuable (and more aesthetically interesting, I find), so if you find booster packs of older sets you should grab them where you can. The easiest ones to collect would be HeartGold SoulSilver and Unleashed, because theyr'e the ones being printed currently and can easily be found in stores.
    If you do plan to play with them, then you should stick to Majestic Dawn and later, as older ones than those will not be playable as of September.

    Honestly start with HS Unleashed. You have come in a bit late. Wal-mart Sells packs for 3.33 so yeah.
     
    I got these booster tins from GAME and they came with Heart Gold Boosters. I've nearly completed that set already.. and I have quite a few unleashed cards. So I guess your right best to start with those.
     
    Well HS Unleashed has on 98 cards in the set. The only card you would have trouble getting is the Alph Lithograph Two. Its said there is one in three booster boxes. So 1 in 108 packs.
    But most people now,with Unleashed being out,run Kingdra prime and a couple other primes. Im one of few who is running Crobat Prime!

    Do you know what the odds were for the Alph Lithograph One from HGSS? 'Cause I got 3 of those in about 50 packs.

    Its the same. Im currently in the PokeTube. You could sell those for alot.

    Is that all? :o I have the Alph Litrograph One from the HG/SS set. Everytime I buy a pack I want more.. aha I must have got about 30 swaps today :embarrass
     
    I havn't pulled one Alph Lithograph yet. Bought the one from HGSS for $11 and the unleashed one recently for $8.50. It's probably because I usually stop buying packs after completing most of the set, and switch to buying individually.
     
    I actually picked some cards up myself today...

    I'm going to simply collect them, and I will not stop buying until I get a Slowking card!

    ...which luckily didn't come in my second booster, but some one please tell me why I got a regular Slowbro in it, and then three packs later got a holo-foil Slowbro. IT'S NOT RIGHT MAN. 8C

    Those are reverse holofoil cards. They've been being printed since the Legendary set in 2002. Every card of the traditional rarities has a reverse holofoil version. And I frankly think they're cool. Many players I know intentionally run all-foil decks because they can.

    Oddly enough, I've only managed to pull one Slowking in about 50 HGSS booster packs, while pulling three of that set's Alph Lithograph, two of the bottom half of Lugia LEGEND, two of the top half of Ho-oh LEGEND, 5 Typhlosion Prime, 3 Feraligatr Prime, 5 Gyarados (1 red color pattern, 4 normal color pattern), 4 Pichu, 6 Sandslash, and multiples of just about every other rare in the set save for Shuckle (just 1), Htimontop (0), Ninetales (1), Wobbuffet (0), Exeggutor (0), Lapras(0), Tyrogue(0), Granbull(1), Donphan Prime (0), Meganium Prime (1), and the halves I didn't already mention for each LEGEND.

    I'm at least glad to hear/see that I picked a card that would allow my collection to grow a bit? I am afraid that I will get the half pieces then get more booster packs to complete it. -very nit picky like that-
     
    Pff, I got more packs the other day and I must have got like 20 that I already had and 10 that I didn't. I hate it when I only need so many cards to complete the set and keep getting swaps :(. Please give me ones I don't have!! -.-
     
    Start with the newest one. (Which is HS Unleashed, like many have said.)
    You could get a binder to become a collecter (Like me.) or battle them with freinds.

    I'll pick up a HS packet today anyway and update you about them (Though it seems you might not need that.)
