It's possible after all Crystal was exclusive to color unlike the other two so Grey could be the same only for the 3DS only

Pokemon Emerald came out after the Nintendo DS, and it was still on the GBA.

There's a chance "Gray" will be released on the regular DS.

All I can say is it would only be smart for them to make it for the 3DS since most Pokemon fans would buy one just to play the new Pokemon game... it's so expensive I think they'll have a hard time selling them without it, but what do I know. I do know that many people would NEVER get one if Gray was on regular DS until the sixth generation games came out, and that'll be a while.

I doubt Gre(a)y will be on the 3DS. All 3rd games have been on the same console. :/

Alright, as the third game speculation has begun, I think I shall present you all with my speculation of Pokémon Gray, Pokémon Grey, ポケットモンスターグレー(Poketto Monsutā Gurē).

First things first... we all know that most of the main Pokémon games are released in Japan in September, right? Well we know that some of the games like Pokémon Platinum only was released 2 years after Pokémon Diamond and Pokémon Pearl, however... that pattern doesn't always follow in the same way. It could either be... that Pokémon Grey/Gray would be released in September 2011 or that two new Pokémon Mystery Dungeon games would be released using full 3D dungeons with one for the Nintendo DS as DSi Enhanced and a 3DS exclusive one (alot like what it was like for Pokémon Mystery Dungeon Red Rescue Team and Blue Rescue Team).

I highly doubt that they will reveal the 3rd installment anytime this year. But I do expect a new Mystery Dungeon and/or Pokemon Ranger to be revealed later this fall, released spring 2012, or revealed spring 2012 and released fall 2012 since by then Black and White will have been active for a good 6 months worldwide, enough time for the World to settle in with the new generation. Either way we will be getting a new pokemon between that time period. As for the 3rd installment (I refuse to call it Grey ><) Im hoping that the name will be revealed spring 2012 and released fall 2012. Its either that or the Remakes of Hoenn will be announced, then followed by the revealing of the 3rd installment. Kind of like what gamefreak did with Pokemon Firered/Leafgreen and Emerald which was released after FR/LG.

However... if Pokémon Grey/Gray was to be released... it would have to be DSi Exclusive. Why? Because the Nintendo 3DS would already be released, however... they cannot jump to another platform with a third game... because it wouldn't match in the same way. Just think how Pokémon Gold and Pokémon Silver were released for GameBoy with GameBoy Color enhancements and then Pokémon Crystal was released as a GameBoy Color exclusive. It could be likely that Black, White and Grey/Gray would follow in the same direction as generation two. The Nintendo DS and Nintendo DSi are almost mirrored versions of the GameBoy and GameBoy Color. Because the GameBoy and GameBoy Color almost have the same engines to each other, it's almost the same thing that happened with the Nintendo DS and Nintendo DSi. So just think... Pokémon Gray/Grey could well be... a Nintendo DSi exclusive, which means it'll only work on the Nintendo DSi or Nintendo 3DS. And considering the fact that there's only a very few games that are currantly DSi exclusive, yet I'm pretty sure Nintendo will release alot more after the Nintendo 3DS has been released. It's been a long time since the release of the Nintendo DS Lite, correct? The Nintendo DS Lite will begin it's phasing out at some time.

Why would Nintendo do that? Just the 3rd installment exclusive for the 3DS? Many people dont want to spend over $250, actually more than that if you also buy the game. It would be wise for Nintendo is they save the 3DS entirely for the 6th generation. That way it would give the world enough time to even purchase the 3DS, and by that time Nintendo will already have developed the sequal to the 3DS, just like they did with the Nintendo DS, and DS lite. All of generation V should be played on all nintendo DS systems, not just one game for a specific console.

And Im not going into name details.......again lol you guys know how I feal about "Pokemon Gray" xD

You can't base what nintendo will do on what they did.(not always) there has never been a system like the 3DS so we can't say for sure that the 3rd game won't be on the 3DS


Plenty of people will have a 3ds we cant kid ourself on that part. 2nd look at the major differences in the 4th and 5th generation so i think the 3rd installment could in fact be on the 3ds with plenty of new stuff.

Well they did that for Crystal back in Gen II so why not for Gray in gen V?

bah, I still dont like the idea of it being exclusive. Unless they made 2 versions of the 3rd installment, one for DS' up to the DSi XL, and one for the 3DS. But I dont see that happening. They may have done it for crystal, but this was 9 years ago. They havent done it since. Then again generation V is a weird one.

would you guys hate it if they came out with a another yellow version? i mean it could be inspired by the anime.Think about it instead of playing the same story with minor enhancements you could play with a a new character obviously from kanto, that comes to unova with his mom. plus the anime is gonna probably have a deeper story than the game so that can be included. I figure you can explore kanto( to a certain extent) after the game. It can go like this
1. the players wakes up in a vermilion city hotel eagerly awaiting the s.s ann(the new airship version )to take him and his mom to unova his new home, with his friend pikachu.
2. Before boarding you go thru the tutorial on how to catch a pokemon and junk
3, once you board you explore blah blah blah you arrive at unova
4. You get off go thru the whole zekrom event go to the professors lab heal your pikachu , meet your rival Shooti look alike of course.
5. over the course you get the 3 starters , meet bel and charen and battle B/W main character at the end like red.
6. once you finish the game you can go back to kanto but for some reason (road block or natural disaster) you can go to vermillion ,curilian pewter viridian city( i know spelled wrong) and pallet town where the players from.
7. Vermillion city will be like hiuen city real big. and since its an international port certain events will allow you to battle gym leaders from johoto hoen and sinnoh.
8. To go along with the games you will become friends with iris and dento, and when you return you will have a similar relationship with brock and misty.

This. I think the issue is that this is so far-fetched, that it's better suited to a ROM hack rather than a third game. Pluuuus why bring Kanto into Generation 5, it's over-used. :(

Maybe starting off flying from Kanto to Unova then the storyline is normal would be okay but the rest? Yeah no.

Anyways I think they should make a battle rocket that flies you into outerspace similar to the rumors of the rocket in RSE...

I just read Serebii (https://www.serebii.net/index2.shtml)and it seems like they already made the first spin off game of gen 5! It also said that Wii and 3DS titles are in development! Maybe this means the third version is in the 3Ds ;)

Never said it would happen but the basic idea of having a 2nd yellow version. And whoever said the idea wasn't good I respect your opinion but could you elaborate on why its not a good one. And the people who say kanto is overused is that a bad thing , what negative aspects does it bring. And as it being farfetch its just an example but this version would be anime based so kanto will be a part of it.

I think the 3Ds titles will be either our PMD. (ZOMFG Hopefully) Ranger (Oh god no :( ) or maybe just some other spin-off. Or a huge long shot but maybe the RSE remakes? I still think they 3rd version will be kept on the same console they won't bring it out on the 3ds.

Its a terrible idea. Sorry but it is. That is way to much to fit into one game. Yellow is a special edition; it won't be remade. That follow's the anime to much making it even more unlikely. Yellow only followed the Pikachu following part IIRC So sorry your idea never will happen in an official game; but Hey! maybe some good hackers are reading your idea and planning. idk...

Black and White came out for any and all Nintendo Ds systems. However they had a Dsi exclusive feature which is the idk something call or something. What made you think Black and White were released specifically for DSiXL?
