This Is War

~Hot 'n Cold~: I'm just going to go with you being done with "part 1" of the posts and say you're making two posts, because I need to grade this now. Grammar is fine. But the thing is...
1. You don't get names from either the commander or the researcher. I even put a line in that clearly says that you don't get the commander's. Please read carefully
2. You guys DID NOT come in a group. You are by yourself right now. The RPers who go after you most certainly don't have to copy YOUR dialogue, but mine they do. I don't mind you making up dialogue, but just don't come up with key things such as names for people who don't give them to you.
3. The little voice over the intercom thing on the boat is wrong. You don't get your Pokemon at the "lab". Once again, please read carefully what I post.

Don't worry about fixing it, I'll let it slide because this is the first post. Please just try not to let it happen again.

A young man with white hair stood at the front of a tiny shipping boat in which he was using to cross from Kanto to Johto. His name was Zypher, and he had been chosen to become part of a resistance against this new age between humans and pokemon. It had not been that long ago since he had lost his best friends due to this war. He especially missed his Raichu who he trained from a pichu. But even with the current state of the world he still had a smile across his face.

"Today starts a new chapter in my life" he said happily as his smile grew bigger, as he saw Johto coming closer and closer.

Zypher is the kind of person who doesn't let anything bother him, you will almost never see him not smiling. He believes that with this new resistence in order he will be able to help bring light and hope back to the world. In a strange way he felt that this was his destiny. After a few hours he had finally arrived in NewBark town.

"Well this place has changed" he said noticing how almost every building but the old lab is torn down. Zypher began to remeber the first day Sly arrived in Newbark town to start her journey, she called him and describe how beautiful it was then. It was now definatly a shell of it's former self. He made his way to the lab swiftly, and as quitely as possible as to not catch the attention of any wild pokemon or he was literally screwed at the moment. Finally he knocked on the door of the lab, as multiple security camera's zoomed in on him. It seemed like he was waiting forever before anyone answered the door, the man who did was a bit intemidating. Zypher also noticed the weapons on his body, and he instanly was discouraged by that, he hated that the world had come to this.

"You one of the trainers?" he asks gruffly.

"Yes, who else would I be?" Zypher smirked back showing his confidence right away. The man then shoves Zypher into the lab and then begins to explain what is going to happen.

"Your going to be traveling alone, mostly because it is safer for you that way. You are of course one of our last chances at hope and if your all together well you'd have more of a chance with a wild pokemon encounter" the man said his voice full of hate. Zypher tried to get some words in but he continued to talk. "Now move" he says as they continue down a corridor.

"You have great bedside manner, you should be a doctor" Zypher said with a bit ok alot of sarcasm, he didn't like this guy, mostly for the weapons he was wearing.

"Your funny kid. Anyways be careful out there if any pokemon catch your scent even the smallest ones, if it knocks you down they will swarm like crazy and you'll be done for sure". the man said still showing no emotion. The sad thing was Zypher knew he had a point, and that he was trying to be nice.

"I understand, and don't worry for the sake of Johto and the world I will be careful, I have to be if I want to bring hope and light back" Zypher said grinning he was ready for change, and nothing was going to get in his way.

"Good and here we are," he says pushing open a big steel door. "This is basically our research facility. Here you will be equipped with one weapon of your choice, a weapon belt akin to mine, and a little bit more information on this whole thing. Good luck." and with that he leaves.

"Hmm nice guy, to bad I didn't get his name... oh well" Zypher says as he walks into the newer room and finds a more comforting and welcoming man there.

"Hello there!" a new, more friendly looking man will say. He claims your attention by handing you a belt that's completely black in color, with little odds and ends on it. "There's a dagger in there, just incase Pokemon get too close without you being able to capture them. We also have a canteen, a compass, a GPS, and...huh. Oh well, you'll find out." You can put it on or stow it in your bag, whichever you prefer. Or you could even decline it, but that might not be smart. "And now you can choose your weapon." Take your pick of whatever you want. I don't care. Just remember; this a journey, so something gigantic won't go well. Choose wisely, otherwise I might have to pick for you in the end. "And finally, I give you this." The man says as he makes way for you to choose your weapon, but Zypher already made his mind up.

"I'm sorry but i'll have to decline, I don't approve of killing" Zypher said still smiling. The man then hands you what looks to be a type of cell phone but with a few differences.

"That will explain the recent occurrings of the region. It will also provide you with information on the Pokemon when you battle them." The man pushes up his wiry glasses, and then glances around to make sure he hasn't forgotten anything. "I suppose that's all. I suggest you capture the first Pokemon you see, no matter what." Then he goes back over to a computer and sits down. "You can make your own way out, because the journey begins now." and with that the man says his farewell and leaves the room.

Zypher stood there as he began remebering the first time he recived a pokedex and his bulbasuar from Oak. Still smiling he began making his way out of the building. He was going to save the world, it was after all his destiny.

Sacred Beo: Nice first post =) I enjoyed Zypher's sarcasm, because sarcasm is funny XD No weapon for him, but whatever floats his boat.

Standing there alone, Zypher was forced to face what the world had become a dark disgusting place full of hate and violence. This could be seen from the current state of Route 29, although the grass still stood it was a grayish color almost as if it was all just ash and at the slightest touch the world would crumble.

"This is ridiculous" Zypher said knowing well enough that he was alone in this even though there were others, he was alone. He did not let this bother him, as the smile on his face grew bigger.

"Hahah" a strange laugh came from somewhere in the grass as parts of it started to move the laughing was getting closer. Zypher stepped back a few steps before getting ready to charge head first into the grass. He had heard the laughter before, actually he had heard it occasionally since the day Beo died when they were kids, but he could never find the source.

"Come out of there this instance!" Zypher ordered knowing well enough that the person could hear him. Suddenly something sprung out of the grass and tackeled Zypher to the ground. Zypher quickly opened his eyes to notice a Pichu standing on his chest. A ravage look in it's eyes, a look of hate as it grinned and it's fangs showed as it got ready to plunge it's teeth into him.

"PI!! PI PI! CHU!" It shouted in rage as it thrust it's head down into Zypher who quickly rolled flinging the Pichu off him who landed gracefully on it's feet. It then began to charge electricity into it's body, Zypher looked around frantically knowing the Pichu was going to launch a thundershock attack.

"There's gotta be something around here" he said still frantically looking around as Pichu launched it's thundershock and at the last moment he found a long tree branch and thrusted it into the ground in front of him causing it to absorb the attack. "That was close, gotta be quicker on my feet" Zypher said to himself as the pichu began running towards him, he knew now was his chance and he reached into his bag and found a tamer ball that he saw the man at the lab sneak into his pack after he refused the weapons.

"PICHU!" it shouted as he got closer and closer to him, Zypher just grinned a confident grin as he tossed the ball at it giving it no time to stop in it's tracks and dodge the ball. The ball fell to the ground and it began rolling back and forth, the Pichu was fighting as hard as it could to break free, if it did Zypher knew it was lost forever. He hoped he would catch it, it reminded of him so much of his Raichu "Sparky" who he raised from a Pichu.

"Ding" the ball rang aloud as the Pichu was succesfully tamed and captured! Zypher rushed over to the ball and picked it up off the ground, he was now no longer alone in this resistence anymore.

"I promise Pichu I won't give up until the world is once agian normal" Zypher said a huge smile. He began to march onto Route 28 with a more confident look then ever.

"Hahaha" the laughing rang aloud again in Zyphers head.

"AHHHHH!!!" Zypher screamed in agony as his head began hurt in such raw pain, his nose was now gushing blood and he began to become woozy before falling to his knees. "I.... ca... can't ... passs... pass. out" he said in a soft voice knowing that if he passed out then wild pokemon would sense his blood and begin converging on him. And with that he got back to his feet and started walking through the pain, his eye sight blurry and hazy, his nose gushing blood he knew this pain all to well, and he knew what was going on, he just wished it hadn't come back.

Sacred Beo: Oh, very intriguing. Wonder what's with the blood ;) Congratulations, Zypher preformed his first successful capture and now has a Pichu! Please tell me the nature and gender in the OOC thread.

New Bark Town was an all too familiar scene. It looked like a ghost town: everything was burned to the ground, the buildings had been broken into, the grass looked dead. In fact, there was no movement, no life anywhere in sight. The lone building still standing was the old Pokemon Laboratory, previously owned by Professor Elm. Now, it looked just as bad off as the rest of the buildings, but hey, it was still standing, and that was a plus.

I approached this building with extreme caution. I knew that I had to be quiet. Since I was unarmed for the time being, if a wild Pokemon found me, it would attack, and where there was one Pokemon, there was likely a whole swarm to back it up.

When I arrived at the lab, I felt a little better. At least these people knew what they were doing. The giant iron door, which had been incredibly scratched up (obviously due to wild Pokemon attempting to break in) was at least 6 inches thick, and there were at least 10 security cameras tracking my every move. I quickly and quietly knocked three times on the door.

After what seemed like an eternity, the door creaked open. A large, muscular, intimidating man peeked from inside the door. "You one of the trainers?" he grunted.

"Yussir, Patrick Stevens at your service." I replied quickly.

He stepped out of the way to allow me to enter. "You're the third one here. The others have left already; we don't want you to travel in a single group, because that just will make it easier for the Pokemon to target you." He got a nod. "So, remember: Get some Pokemon, find Mew and get him to fix this whole mess, and hopefully all will be well again."

We had stopped at another steel door. The large man opened the door and stepped out of the way, allowing me to enter. I entered to a friendly "Hello there!", much different than the first greeting I got.

The room was a complete mess. There were many computers around the large room. Papers covered every inch of the desks that the computers did not, as well as file cabinet upon file cabinet. There were boxes, full of strange contraptions that I did not recognize. Most of the boxes were still closed.

"Hello there!" the friendly voice repeated.

"Erm, hi" was all I could say.

The friendly man thrust a solid black belt into my arms. I recognized it as the same type of belt the guard was wearing. "Inside is a dagger, you know, for protection. You can't be too careful these days in the wild. Also, you have a canteen, a compass, a GPS, and...huh. Oh well, you'll find out." Puzzled, I continued listening, as I put the belt around my waist. "And now, you can choose your weapon. I assure you, anything you can think of, we will have. Just, if I may, please be reasonable. After all, we want you to find Mew quickly, and if you were trying to carry around a chain gun or a cannon or something, well, not only would you not make it to Mew in time, but small Pokemon like Ratatta could probably get to you. So, choose wisely." he finished.

Thinking hard, I eventually made up my mind. "Um, can I have like a tranquilizer gun and darts? That way, I might be able to catch Pokemon if they are tranquilized. Tranquilizers are small, light, and easy to use."

"Of course, let me go get you one" he said. He began wading through the enormous amounts of paper and boxes, finally making it to one of the many unopened ones on the far side of the room. "This is a standard tranq gun," he said, pulling out a small, black gun. "And these are standard issue tranquilizer darts, that fit in said gun," he continued, pulling out long, thin, acid green darts from another nearby box. He handed them to me. "And finally, I give you this."

He also handed me what looked like a PDA, only silver, and made of metal. I, of course, knew that I wouldn't need a PDA for what I was doing.
[FONT=&quot]"That will explain the recent occurrings of the region. It will also provide you with information on the Pokemon when you battle them." He pushed up his glasses, and I knew he was finally done talking. "Well, I suppose that's everything. A little suggestion. Capture the first Pokemon you see, no matter what you have to do." And with that, I was on my way.

Route 29 looked pitiful. I remember back when it was in its prime. It had children, happily running back and forth from it to Cherrygrove City. They would play with all the wild Ratatta, Sentret, and the bird Pokemon that were native to the land. Now, it was oh so different. The grass looked as if it was dry and hard. It would probably crunch if I step on it. I thought about the poor land as I walked.

All of a sudden, I heard a rustle in the grass. I got on my guard, and tightened one hand around my dagger and the other around the Tamer Ball that was on my belt. All of a sudden, a grey blur darted straight for my head, coming out of nowhere. I protected myself by holding the dagger in front of my head, and the blur had to change its course. I knew what this was all too well. It was a wild Starly, the previous form of my Staraptor. But my Staraptor was adamant. If I held a dagger in front of it, it would lower its beak to meet my blade. This wild Starly was anything but adamant. Nevertheless, I had to catch this, for both protection, and as a tribute to my old friend.

The Starly turned back towards me, and started using another Quick Attack. This time, I was ready. As it got close, I threw a large stone at it. It hit the Starly square on the head, and it fell down. I seized this moment, and threw my Tamer Ball at it. It wiggled a couple of times. The Starly was trying to break free. I couldn't let this happen. This was my first Pokemon, I had to catch it. Finally the ball clicked and stopped shaking. The Starly was mine. I let him out of his Pokeball. He seemed quite happy now, now that he wasn't evil. I figured I might as well nickname him, so I decided to call him Star.

Myrrhman: Good little battle there =) Congrats on securing Star (who I'm going to guess is a male, but nature is needed in the OOC thread please)!

"A friend is someone who understands your past, believes in your future, and accepts you just the way you are."

Trent could remember his old man telling him that just before he went on his pokemon journey, and he had fully accepted that with each pokemon he captured and each friend he gained, but as betrayal soon swept over the lands and, soon enough, into the minds of his own pokemon, Trent soon found that the term 'friends' was useless, fake and hurtful. His best friends, hell, even his starter pokemon, deserted him.

And now he was here, ready to begin anew, but this time for revenge.

"The pokemon are barbarians now," the commander... or whatever tells Trent as he nods firmly. His eyes sweep over the command center that is meant to be the start of a new life. Brainwashing pokemon... "You will be equiped with a weapon of your choice, a utility belt like mine and some tamer balls. Are you ready for this, brat?"

Trent turns on the large, muscular man. "If I wasn't ready, would I be here?" he growled.

The man just laughs and pushed Trent forward. "Get the brat ready!" he barked to a new person. Trent turned his attention to the new man that was already holding a bag full of supplies.

"Here we have your basics," he explained, handing over a dagger to Trent.

Trent ran almost expert fingers over the dagger, zoning out on the man explaining directions. Anger was beginning to cloud his mind as the silver steel glinted with a deadly light. His Charizard had claws of steel, and Trent had always loved that about his pokemon. Well, at least before his own starter betrayed him with those claws.

"And now you may choose your own personal weapon," the man said, leading Trent to a table. "We have tranquilizers, smoke bombs, stunners..."

"I'll take the crow bar," Trent interrupted, moving over to the crow bar that was actually resting against the machine it had been used on to move earlier.

"Well." The man gave an embarrassed cough. "That wasn't one of our choices."

"Doesn't matter," Trent said stiffly, swinging it about, grinning as the man shrunk back. "I think I'll need this to release some tension."

The man frowned. "We are here to try and reobtain or connection with pokemon, not strengthen their anger."

Trent snorted. "Hey, they attack me, I attack them," he replied with an easy grin, grabbing his belongings and ignoring the man's call and heading for the route he had been commanded to go to.

And to also break his pokemon's necks if he ever saw a single one of them again...

Route 29, a once beautiful place with full, tall trees, green bushes and high grass, but now the trees were withered and burned, the bushes gone and the grass an ashy remainder of what was once beautiful. It was all disgusting, but that wasn't the only thing that was leeching onto this route. A snarling, pink, worthless mutt was blocking Trent's path.
[PokeCommunity.com] This Is War

A Snubbull, Trent's mind supplied. The so called cute pokemon used to be owned by girls, but Trent could recall that its evolution was a vicious thing, and right now he wanted vicious.

"I would be careful who I showed my fangs to, girl," Trent crooned mockingly.

The Snubbull snarled loudly.

"Ah, boy then," Trent said with a grin, swinging his crow bar. He watched the thing salivate in anger, those beady eyes narrowing before it lunged. "Stupid mutt," Trent laughed, swinging away. "What, did you not think I didn't expect that?" He took another swing, but Snubbull latched its mouth onto the bar. Again Trent recalled that the thing could lock its jaws.

"Bull," it growled, saliva dripping onto the bar.

Trent just tsked and dragged the thing over to a rock. With a heave and gasp, Trent swung both the crow bar and Snubbull down onto the rock. To his delight, the normal type squealed in pain and shock. "Wasn't expecting a human to be so brutal?" Trent mocked.

"Bul snub," Snubbull growled, releasing the crow bar, only to get struck in the stomach. The pup got to all fours and panted, teeth gleaming and snarling lowly.

"Yes, I think you'll do fine," Trent commented, pulling out the tamer ball. "You see, when I find my pokemon, I want them to experience the same pain they gave me when they abandoned me."

Snubbull tilted his head, confused.

With a dark laugh, Trent lifted his shirt, revealing several claw marks. If he removed his whole shirt, his back and arms would be covered as well from the claws and fangs of his pokemon. "You see, betrayal doesn't just leave mental scars, it leaves physical ones."

Snubbull snarled viciously, not caring. His mind had already been taken over with the darkness and betrayal like all the other pokemon.

Trent chuckled. "Yes, I know you don't care, but then again I don't care about you either." With a dark grin, he tossed the tamer ball on the surprised pokemon and watched it get transferred into red energy where the pokeball began to shake back and forth...

Wolfwhispers: That was amazing. The whole trust issue, that really holds something to me so I like how you incorporated that into your post. Who knows, maybe Trent will have a chance at his little revenge someday. Congrats on the scary crowbar, as well as the new Snubbull!

As the P.A system announced the arrival at New Bark Town, Dan stood up from his chair on the rickety raft that they called a boat. It had been a while since he saw the luxury hallways of the S.S Anne, Aqua and other cruises ships he had sailed on countless times as a league champion. He looked out at New Bark Town, it was like looking onto a movie set of a horror movie, the buildings laid in ruins and the grass dead. All that remained was the lab and it was heavily armor and equipped with weapons, next to the lab was a dead Rattata.

Dan remembered how beautiful it used to be before the war consumed it. He wished the Pokémon storage system wasn't down or he would just fly directly to mew and stop this war. He remembered that fateful day when the Kanto Pokémon storage system was attacked. He was enjoying the 4th day of the summer break from the indigo league. He had just deposited his Pokémon 2 days ago when a new report saying the Kanto-Johto servers were disconnected from the mainframe as a result of a Pokémon attack. The news reporters assured that the Pokémon were safe but it would be impossible to withdraw them. Even though the system had been rebooted it still hasn't been connected to the mainframe.

"Oh well." Dan said as he approached the Lab. He knocked a loud strong knock and heard footsteps approaching. Cold war-harden eyes meet Dan's and a stereotype voice asked "You one of the trainers?"

"Yes," Dan replied in a trust me I pack a punch sort of tone. The next thing Dan knew he was pulled into the lab and the strange man began to talk.

"You'll be winging it solo, it give the Pokémon less of a chance to attack. The Pokémon here are like the rest of the world but even more vicious and fearful. If just one of them gets you down you'll have a thin chance for survival. Ah here we are," he said as they came to another steel door. "Here you'll get your weapon, equipment, and some more information. Well I'll see you later," he said as he walked away.

"Hello there!" said a kind faced man who sat in the lab. Out of his drawer he pulled out a pitch black belt with multiple odds and ends. "There's a dagger incase of danger before you catch your first Pokémon. There's also a canteen, a compass, a GPS among other things." As the professor said this Dan replaced his belt with the new one.

" I'll take that" said the professor as he put it in a locker with Dan's name on it. "If I get anything for you I'll put it in this locker. Now please choose a weapon for self defense."
Dan kindly rejected.

"No? Well no matter here take this." The professor hands you a small silver device that looks exactly like a watch, except that it's made of various metals and other tough materials. "This is the new pokédex we have been working on. It also functions as a poketch. Well this look like everything, have luck on your journey. Bye."

Dan walk out of the lab and discarded everything the professor snuck in his bag. He broke the tamer ball in half and threw each peace in a different direction and replaced it with a pokéball he found laying around his house. When he was done he picked up his pack and walked towards route 29.

Chapter 2: Route 29
Post Number: 2

Now that you've caught your first Pokemon, things might be running through your mind that associate with it. Or maybe you've just completely dropped the subject of it, and you're just happy that you have something to destroy other Pokemon with. Are you wondering if you'll see your former Pokemon again? Maybe. No matter what you're thinking at first, it's time to decide to keep going. You might want to check your GPS to see if there are any shortcuts and try them. If you do, different things will happen. Will you stick to the simple Route 29, or will you try to take a short cut up to Mt. Silver through Route 46? The choice is yours, but choose wisely. You wouldn't want to lose time, now would you? There will be benefits to both routes, however.

Route 29:
Spoiler:

Route 46:
Spoiler:

In the end, no matter what way you go, you end up in Cherrygrove City. So basically if you go Route 46 for your first post, your second post will be you hiking back towards Cherrygrove. End your post with arriving there. (Unless, of course, you're battling a wild Pokemon. Then you have to end it with the Pokeball shaking and all of that good stuff).

Rules for Capturing Pokemon:
1. The rarer it is, the more difficult it will be to capture.
2. You can decide the gender and nature of them.
3. ALWAYS end your post with your Pokeball shaking, unless I say otherwise.
4. Remember: the Pokemon are SCARY PSYCHO THINGS! ^^ And have a nice day.

Dan looked out at route 29. It looked no different from the rest of New Bark Town, decimated. As Dan looked around he noticed that a lot of the trees had been cut down. Out of the corner of his eye he noticed a small orange flame.

A Charmander, Dan remembered the mass amounts of Charizards that came to the indigo league. While probably only knowing a move like tackle it would soon know a wide arsenal of fire moves. Its later to be devolved wings might also come in handy.

Dan remembering he had no weapons took off his shoe and yelled "hey Charmander." As soon as the charmander turned around it was hit square over the head with the shoe.

"CHAR" it yelled and looked Dan straight in the eyes. The next moment it began to charge, hand in the air.

Dan took a big gulp "I'm guessing you know scratch" he said as he ran away. He looked down and noticed a stick on the ground. As he picked it up and swung it charmander hit it with the flame on its tail.

Dan muttered "Shit" under his breath. He knew he couldn't toss the stick without setting the whole place on fire. Dan began to run holding the stick up right and came upon a small pond. He chucked the stick right into the pond and looked around to see the charmander running straight at him. Dan then realized that the water behind him would be a great advantage. He began rummaging though his pack and found a towel, he quickly drenched it and threw it on top of the small red lizard.

Dan quickly removed a pokéball and waited for charmander to remove the towel. As soon as it did the red ball soared though the air straight at the charmander. The ball touched down and began to shake. A smile came across Dan's face as he heard the clicking sound. He picked up the pokéball and knew that this marked the start of his journey to end this war.

He picked up his shoe and the towel and continued his walk down route 29.

ghasteon: It was quick, but the shoe throwing made it hilarious XD Very nice job in being creative, I must say. Congrats on your successful capture of Charmander =) Don't forget to tell me the nature/gender in the OOC =3

Zypher was finally starting to feel a little better as he moved an empty bottle of water away from his lips as he just chugged the full thing.

"Well now, that was just horrible" Zypher said as he looked down at his clothes to see the blood stained color, but suddenly a smile came back to his face as he realized he just captured his first pokemon that would help in his journey to save the world. He grabbed Pichu's tamer ball from his belt clip and tossed it out.

"Pi.. Pi?" the little yellow pokemon said a bit confused as Zypher notice all the hatred in it's eyes he noticed just a while ago was gone.

"Hey little guy, my names Zypher and i'm your new friend" Zypher said knowing well enough to stir away from the word trainer. "Hmm you need a name, how about Chance?" he asked as the pichu began to smile and then jumped up and down.

"Pi! Chu" Chance said happily in agreement as Zypher then walked over picking him up and setting him on his shoulder.

"You can sit on my shoulder Chance" Zypher said smiling to Chance he began to remeber the good times he spent with his old Raichu, in some way this Pichu made him feel like he was back in Kanto... He knew he wasn't though, he knew things would never be back to the way they were but he could hope, and within hope theres light that shines down on the worse things in the world. He then pulled his GPS from his pocket.

"Now where should we head to next?" he began wondering as he realized that there were two different routes that would lead them towards Cherry Grove City. "Well Chance it seems there is a short cut up through Mt.Silver on Route 46, what do you think wanna take the shortcut?" Zypher asked is Pichu pointed at Route 46 on his map and started nodding in agreement.

"Pichu, pi.. pi!" Chance said.

"Alright then Route 46 it is then!" Zypher said as the two of them headed towards Mt. Silver and route 46. As the two of them approached it Zypher began wondering if they chose the right path as in front of them looked like a monstrous death trap. There were pitfalls, and sharp deadly rocks, your basic hard to travel path. Still it didn't seem to bother Zypher who just put a smile on his face.

"Well Chance are you ready to change things here?" Zypher asked eager to get moving.

"Pichu!" Chance cheered as the two continued on Route 46!

Sacred Beo: Pichu's now Chance =3 And I suppose your next post might be a long one, considering you'll have to go back from Route 46 to Route 29 and Cherrygrove all in one. I look forward to the next post =3

"Come on out, Star!" Zero yelled, releasing his Starly from the confines of its ball.

"Staaaaar!" it cried.

Even though they were in the same dark, depressing land of Johto, everything seemed so much calmer and peaceful now that Zero had Starly. Since he would be needing his Starly to protect him against wild Pokemon, he opted to let it be out of its Pokeball, and it opted to perch itself on his head.

They had come upon a fork in the road. To the north was the mountainous Route 46, which was a shortcut to Mt. Silver. However, Zero knew that the Pokemon there would be a lot tougher than the ones that were on the current Route. He went against better judgement and headed north anyway.

Route 46 was definitely mountainous. It was really jagged, probably from wild Pokemon. The entire route, in fact, looked like a giant war zone. There were craters in the ground. There were large crevices. Zero didn't like it here. It would take him too long to escape if a wild Pokemon was chasing him.

Zero tried to look at his Starly, which was perched on his head. This, of course proved impossible as like any normal human, Zero's eyes were on the front of his face.

"All right, Star. We're just going to find a strong, durible Po-" was all he got out. The rock he was about to step on was moving. It was a Geodude, exactly what he was looking for. The Geodude had been lying patiently, waiting to ambush any human that came near.

"Star, you see it? Wild Geodude, 12 o'clock!" Zero shouted, getting Starly's attention. This got the Geodude's attention, too, and it thrust itself off the ground with its strong arms.

"Duuuude!" it shouted as it catapulted itself at Zero's face. Starly quickly reacted, diving down and knocking the Geodude away from its friend. Starly flew in front of Zero, protecting its master.

"Thanks, Star! Use Tackle!" Zero yelled. Star obeyed, diving at the Geodude once more. The Geodude calmly curled into a tiny, compact ball.

"Grr, it's using Defence Curl. Tackle's not going to work on it, Star. Wait until its leaves its ball, and use Quick Attack!"

Sure enough, after a while the Geodude uncurled, thinking the trainer was not paying attention. As it did so, Starly struck it in the face with a Quick Attack.

"Good job Star! This is going to be an endurance test; its hard to weaken a Geodude without water or grass attacks. Keep up the Quick Attacks. Don't let it get an attack in!"

Star did as instructed, and Zero could tell the Geodude was running out of energy. He let it fling itself at him, and at just the right time, Star flew in from below, lifting the Geodude in the air. The Geodude flew through the air, and landed on a particularly hard rock with a sickening crunch. The time had come.

"All right, that's enough Star" Zero said. "Geodude, you're mine! Go, Tamer Ball!"

The ball flew through the air and hit the Geodude square on the head. Geodude went in the ball, and it began shaking.

*Shake Shake*

myrrhman: Nice post, but I bet I know what you're REALLY waiting on me to say ;) Congrats on the capture of a level 3 Geodude. Tell me nature and gender in the OOC, please.

Zypher and Chance were trudging there way through the dangerous path of route 46. As they continued to step over the seemingly invisible pitt falls Zypher started looking ahead wondering if this was actually going to be a short cut or if it was going to actually lead towards Cherry Grove City.

"Don't worry Chance were gonna make it through here and get to Cherry Grove I promise" Zypher said still smiling as he realized Chance was scared.

"Pi…" Chance said burying its head into Zyphers shoulder hoping his trainer was right.

Suddenly Zypher's vision began to get blurry, and he knew what was happening.

"Chance get back in your pokeball" Zypher said realizing he was no longer going to be safe outside on his shoulder. But the warning came to late.

"Hahaha" a creepy laughtere filled his head as he started getting dizzy and light headed, causing him to take a miss step and trip as he fell over Chance was launched into a pit fall just a few feet away from him. Zypher quickly reached down for Chance's pokeball and pressed the button before he lost sight of his pokemon. Chance was safely returned to his pokeball but not without some emotional scaring. Zypher slowly got his feet the laughter beginning to echo louder and louder.

"Stop… it can't come back… I HAVE TO STOP ALL OF THIS!!" Zypher screamed at the top of his lungs as it finally came to a stop and he fell to one knee blood once again began pouring out of his nose, but he didn't care he had to turn back, this path was to dangerous and he couldn't risk Chance's life… He didn't care about his own anymore he knew his life would come to an end at some point… Now he realized it would be sooner then later. Still he would not let the smile down.

Zyphers vision was still blurry and he was now sprinting at this point hoping to get off this death trap of a route fast. Unfortunately the blurry vision caused him to trip over a rock and fall flat on his face as Chance's pokeball rolled off his belt and opened up.

"Pi?" Chance looked at Zypher question why he was laying on the ground, and then he saw his trainers nose bleeding and ran over to him, trying to help him up.

"Thanks Chance, I'm glad I have you now" Zypher said smiling as he got to his feet and brushed off his pants that were now ripped in several spots he then picked up Chances pokeball and put it back on his belt. That's when the two of them heard a very un easing roar.

"NOOSE!! NOSSE PASS!!" the roar became louder on several occasions until Zypher and Chance turned around to see that the rock he tripped over was actually three sleeping Nosepass who were now awake.. They had that vicious look in there eyes much like Chance did before Zypher caught him. The began charging at the two of them at a very high speed Zypher quickly took off and swiped Chance up into his arms sprinting back down the rugged path.

"Don't worry Chance there big and slow" Zypher shouted as he was beginning to make some headway on them. Sometimes though fate plays out a different role for you.

"HAHA" the laughing was back and it was louder Zypher stopped in his tracks.

"AHHHH!!!!!!" He began shouting as the ravage Nosepass were getting closer, Zypher fell to one knee again. "Chance… go…" Zypher said tossing Chance into the air hoping his new friend would save himself. The Nosepass were only about fifty yards away as Chance turned back to Zypher who was holding his head in pain.

"Go away! Whoever is laughing just go away!" Zypher screamed he was becoming more and more delirious. Chance was looking around at anything that could save them from the Nosepass and that's when he noticed a few loose boulders hanging off the side of the cliff above them.

"PICHU!!!" The tiny pokemon roared as it let out huge amounts of electricity surging right for the boulders hitting them directly causing them to break free of the cliff and land right ontop of the oncoming Nosepass.

"That… that was increadible Chance" Zypher said as the laughing began subsiding and for the first time Zypher realized this Pichu was going to do anything for him, no matter what that meant. They were in it for the long haul. Zypher wiped the blood from his face and they continued on, he was now smiling brighter then ever.

His vision once again became clear and his headache had simmered down, he was now on the outskirts of Route 46 and getting ready to enter back onto Route 29.

"Well Chance this time for sure we have got the right path" Zypher said as they began walking onto it before Zypher was tackled to the ground by another wild pokemon.

"Seedot!" the pokemon shouted as it jumped up and down on Zyphers chest using a bide attack, Zypher once again saw the ravaged look of hatred, evil, and darkness in there eyes. God how he hated that look.

"Chance use thundershock!" Zypher ordered as Chance quickly reacted focusing a thundershock at seedot who was seemingly not expecting it. The attack struck the seedot directly causing it to fly forwards off Zypher who quickly got to his feet. The seedot then turned around and began charging for them once more.

"Chance now use charm!" Zypher shouted as Chance began to charm the Seedot. Seedot began slowing down in it's tracks, which caused Zypher to grin. "Now use another thundershock!"

"PICHU!" Chance shouted using the last of it's energy all in one attack hitting the currently charmed Seedot hard knocking it unconscious.

"Great job Chance! You deserve a rest so here come on back up to my shoulder" Zypher cheered as the two of them walked past the unconscious Seedot and further down Route 29. One thought crossed his mind seeing that pokemon lay unconscious.

If that was any other human being, wouldn't they have killed that poor seedot. Which means maybe there was hope for the world to become civil again, but he could only hope, that's all it was, was hope.

After about an hour of walking Zypher and Chance stood at the outskirts of Cherry Grove City the two looked at each, very proud of themselves.

"Well it may have taken us a few detours, and some ravage pokemon but we got here in one piece right buddy" Zypher said looking forward at what laid ahead for the pair.
